On this special “New Voices” episode of the Chuck ToddCast, political strategist Lucy Caldwell joins Chuck to reflect on her journey from running Joe Walsh’s anti-Trump Republican campaign to registering as a Democrat. She discusses the fractures within the conservative movement, the erosion of space for moderates, and why independent efforts like the Forward Party struggle to gain traction. Lucy and Chuck explore how partisan incentives discourage compromise, why the best candidates often emerge from nonpartisan races, and how her personal battle with cancer reshaped her perspective on healthcare policy. It’s a candid look at what it means to be politically homeless in today’s polarized landscape. Go to https://getsoul.com & enter code TODDCAST for 30% off your first order. On this episode of the Chuck ToddCast, Chuck unpacks a tumultuous week for Donald Trump as newly released Epstein emails reignite old scandals — and this time, they may stick. With Speaker Mike Johnson appearing to serve Trump’s interests over his own members, and a worsening economy eroding public patience, Chuck explores whether we’re witnessing the beginning of Trump’s “lame duck” moment. He draws parallels between Trump’s endless stream of controversies, his history of corrupt pardons, and how even “teflon” presidents eventually turn “velcro” when conditions shift. As the cost of living rises and swing voters tune out partisan noise, scandals like Epstein’s are cutting through both sides’ information bubbles — forcing Republicans to reckon with Trump’s baggage. Chuck argues that if Democrats manage a midterm sweep, historians might look back on this very week as the turning point when Trump’s political luck finally began to run out. Then, Chuck sits down with Adam Jentleson, executive director of the new Searchlight Institute, to talk about how Democrats can build a broader, more durable governing coalition. Jentleson explains why Searchlight is designed to promote ideological diversity within the Democratic Party — and why policies that blend progressive and moderate ideas tend to last longer and win in more places. He warns that Democrats’ electoral path to the presidency and a 60-seat Senate majority is narrowing and argues the party’s best hope lies in economic populism — the same force that powered Trump’s rise but could be reclaimed with a focus on kitchen-table issues and fairness for working Americans. The conversation dives deep into the party’s messaging struggles during the government shutdown, the growing divide between “fight Trump” and “look past Trump” factions, and the need for Democrats to recruit candidates who can win in red and purple states — even if they don’t align perfectly on social issues. Jentleson also offers sharp insights on the filibuster’s evolution from a necessary safeguard to a legislative dead end, and why Democrats need to get more strategic — not louder — if they want to govern effectively and outlast Republican populism. Finally, he answers listeners’ questions in the “Ask Chuck” segment and breaks down the latest in college football. Go to https://getsoul.com & enter code TODDCAST for 30% off your first order. A few months ago, we covered the disturbing case involving rising R&B artist David Anthony Burke, better known as D4vd, and the disappearance of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez from Riverside County, California. Celeste vanished in April of 2024, when she was just thirteen, and over time, online chatter began linking her to Burke, a singer whose breakout hits like Romantic Homicide and Here With Me had made him one of the biggest viral artists of the last few years. Those rumors took a horrifying turn in September of 2025, when Celeste's remains were discovered inside an abandoned Tesla registered to Burke. Speculation was that the body had been in the vehicle for an extended period of time, and although the cause of death hasn't been officially released, authorities were treating it as a homicide. Since then, Burke has cancelled his world tour, suspended upcoming releases, and become the focus of an active death investigation. As we learned in our first video, there were already unsettling connections between the two; from matching tattoos and online interactions to song lyrics and videos that many fans now view in a far darker light. Today, we have some updates in this case. Former intelligence officer and Democratic senate candidate from Kentucky Joel Willett joins Chuck Todd for a wide-ranging and deeply personal conversation — from his post-9/11 path into military service to the experiences that pushed him toward the Democratic Party. They highlight the parallels between his own story and JD Vance’s, offering candid thoughts on Hillbilly Elegy and how addiction, inequality, and disillusionment shape modern politics. He argues that the fentanyl crisis can’t be solved by policing supply alone — the real solution lies in investing in treatment, healthcare access, and rebuilding opportunity in communities like his home state of Kentucky. The conversation turns sharp as Willett critiques senate Democrats’ handling of the recent shutdown deal, calling it a “betrayal of the public,” and weighs in on the Democrats’ leadership struggles, the GOP’s subservience to Trump, and the erosion of national security norms. From the dangers of AI-era inequality to the growing politicization of the intelligence community, Willett warns that without courage and reform, even the institutions built to protect democracy could falter. On this episode of the Chuck ToddCast, Chuck breaks down the political fallout from the ending of the longest government shutdown in history— and what it revealed about both parties’ internal divides. He also answers listeners’ questions regarding the shutdown. Then, former intelligence officer and Democratic senate candidate from Kentucky Joel Willett joins Chuck Todd for a wide-ranging and deeply personal conversation — from his post-9/11 path into military service to the experiences that pushed him toward the Democratic Party. Imani (52) and Michael (65) have been married for 24 years—and they're drowning in nearly $126,000 of consumer debt despite earning over $250,000 a year. Imani, a disciplined attorney who tracks every dollar, feels trapped by Michael's unchecked spending on electronics and his laid-back approach to money. She dreams of travel, freedom, and a life that finally feels generous, while he insists everything's fine as long as the bills get paid. With resentment growing and Imani nearing her breaking point, Ramit challenges them to face the truth: Can they pay off their debt, rebuild trust, and start enjoying life again—or are they too stuck in old patterns to change? A special thanks to Facet for sponsoring this episode. Right now, Facet is waiving their $250 enrollment fee for new annual members. And if you invest and maintain $5,000 within your first 90 days, they'll add $300 to your brokerage account. Head to facet.com/ramit to see which membership—Core, Plus, or Complete—is right for you. (Ramit is not a member of Facet, and he has an incentive to endorse Facet as he has an ongoing fee based contract for cash compensation based on this endorsement. In this episode we uncover: • Why Imani regrets combining finances after 20 years of marriage • How Michael's promise to “put the money back” reveals a lifetime of avoidance • The stark contrast between Michael's military discipline and total lack of structure at home • What happens when one partner outgrows the other in ambition, discipline, and self-development • Why Imani admits she's embarrassed to be in massive debt at her age • Michael's habit of buying cars and electronics to celebrate milestones • How their $268,000 income still leaves them feeling broke, anxious, and behind • Why Imani clings to control and spreadsheets while Michael tunes out completely • How both partners confront the question: Can they rebuild trust and create structure before it's too late? On this episode of the Chuck ToddCast, Chuck breaks down the latest in Washington as the government shutdown nears its end—and the political fallout begins. Democrats have shown more backbone than expected, while Donald Trump’s strategy has Republicans quietly questioning his grip on power. From his push to cut SNAP benefits for his own voters to his increasingly distorted view of the economy, Trump’s disconnect from reality is starting to cost him. Chuck also looks at the Democrats’ strong showing in the recent elections, what it says about voter sentiment heading into 2026, and whether we’re witnessing the beginning of Trump’s lame duck era. Plus, the ripple effects of Trump’s policies—from affordability to the upcoming World Cup—and what Mike Johnson’s loyalty to Trump means for the GOP’s future. Finally, Chuck hops into the ToddCast Time Machine to revisit the surrender of the Ottoman Empire after World War 1 and the lasting implications for peace in the middle east, answers listeners’ questions in the “Ask Chuck” segment and breaks down the weekend in college football. Plus, the ripple effects of Trump’s policies—from affordability to the upcoming World Cup—and what Mike Johnson’s loyalty to Trump means for the GOP’s future. Then, Chuck sits down with journalist and historian Garrett Graff, host of The Long Shadow, to unpack how America’s political scandals—from Watergate to Trump—have shaped the presidency and public trust. Graff reflects on the slow process of uncovering the truth about Nixon’s 1968 interference and how those lessons apply to Trump’s open defiance of the Presidential Records Act. The two dive into why history takes decades to judge leaders, how government secrecy really works, and why even the most shocking revelations—like Iran-Contra or January 6th—take years to fully understand. Graff also discusses the ripple effects of past scandals, from Monica Lewinsky’s mistreatment to the rise of political figures forged during the Clinton impeachment, and how the legacy of Trump may take a generation to contextualize. The conversation ends on the future of media itself—how O.J. Simpson changed television forever, how algorithms broke the internet, and what it means for truth in an age where everyone’s chasing clicks. It's Emmajority Report Thursday on the Majority Report On today's program: As Trump's own lawyers conceded in the Supreme Court that 30-80% of the 4 trillion taken in by tariffs will be paid by American taxpayers, Trump claims that his tariffs have "saved the world" from a great depression. Corporate layoff numbers reach the highest numbers since 2003 which is particularly disturbing as we head into to the holidays, a time when corporations typically need to hire additional seasonal employees. James Blair who was Trump's 2024 campaign political director claims that the president will shift his messaging to cost-of-living. Abby Martin joins the program to discuss her new film, Earth's Greatest Enemy which exposes the U.S. military as the world's largest polluter. Josh aka Ettingermentum form the eponymous newsletter on Substack joins Emma for a conversation about Tuesday's election results. In the Fun Half: Brandon Sutton and Matt Binder join Emma. Someone passes out in the oval office and RFK, Jr. sneaks away before the guy hits the ground, even Trump showed more consideration that Bobby. In response to Zohran Mamdani's victory, ADL spokesperson Jonathan Greenblatt humiliates himself on Morning Joe to the point that even the sympathetic Joe Scarborough took him to task for his BS. ICE agents violently drag teacher out of preschool in front of her students in Chicago All that and more. The Congress switchboard number is (202) 224-3121. It's News Day Tuesday on the Majority Report On today's program: Voters reject republicans across the country in a crushing blue wave. Zohran Mamdani will be the next mayor of New York City, winning in a landslide with over 50% of the vote. We watch a few snippets of his victory speech where he pays credits to the immigrants and marginalized people who are so often forgotten in NYC politics. Usamah Andrabi, Communications Director and spokesperson for Justice Democrats joins us to discuss Mamdani's victory and how to build on the momentum. Support Justice Democrat candidates here and check out their piece in Zeteo from today. Adam Green, Co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee joins the program to further the conversation on the importance of seizing the momentum from last night's elections into material benefits for voters. In the Fun Half: We watch a few more moments from Zohran Mamdani's victory speech where he highlights the importance of immigrants to NYC and even deploys a Mario Cuomo quote in a final dagger to Andrew. AOC takes aim at the democrats who refused to get behind Mamdani and still refuse to plan for the future. Seems like she may be considering primarying Chuck Schumer. Curtis Sliwa calls out the billionaires and insiders who tried to deny his right as the real GOP nominee to run for mayor. Stavros Halkias collabs with AOC to discuss why the Mamdani's policies are so attractive to people. Donald Trump reacts to last night's blue wave by calling for Thune to terminate the filibuster. Hasan Piker confronts Olivia Reingold at the Zohran victory party about her smear campaign on him and her horrible work denying the famine in Gaza for the Free Press. All that and a whole lot more. It's Fun Day Monday on the Majority Report On today's program: Trump's polling shows him underwater on almost every single issue. His disapproval rating is the highest it's been in either term and his approval rating hits the lowest it's been so far in his second term. Somehow the Democrats are squandering this incredible opportunity to reach the folks who are jumping ship from the GOP. Founder and editor-in0chief of Bolts Magazine, Daniel Nichanian joins the show to break down the significant elections taking pace tomorrow across the country. In the Fun Half: Rep. Joe Neguse (D-CO) pushes back against a reporter's framing of the shutdown as the Democrats' fault, using the moment to highlight the GOP's responsibility in the crisis. A refreshing moment of effective communication from a Democrat. In an example of ineffective communication, Hakeem Jeffries is thrown a soft ball from Jake Tapper when asked if Zohran Mamdani is the future of the Democratic party and he swings and misses spectacularly. Michigan Representative Haley Stevens does her best Hakeem Jeffries impression in fumbling on an easy question with an incoherent word salad. Majority Report's own Emma Vigeland went on MSNBC this weekend to discuss the failures of the democratic party. Elon Musk butchers a joke that he doesn't understand as Joe Rogan laughs like a sycophant. All that and more The Congress switchboard number is (202) 224-3121. Angela (31) and David (34) thought they'd built a future on $200,000 in crypto. Instead, they lost it all—and now they're living in David's childhood home with his mom. Angela dreams of traveling to Colombia to be with family, while David quietly panics about their finances. It's Fun Day Monday on the Majority Report. On today's show: ICE, CBP and other federal agencies continue their assault on Chicago as they recklessly unleash CS gas in front of an elementary school in a busy neighborhood resulting in the hospitalization of at least two children. ICE is gassing everyone in Chicago including the local police officers. Dr. Michale Mann, Climatologist, Geophysicist, Director of Center for Science, Sustainability & the Media at University of Pennsylvania, joins the program to discuss his new book - Science Under Siege: How to Fight the Five Most Powerful Forces That Threaten our World co-authored with Dr. Peter Hotez. In the Fun Half: More coverage of ICE atrocities as they arrest people with no warrant or reason, detain the lawyers that are speaking on behalf of terrorized immigrants and mace young girls at point blank in the face. The only thing that seems to get ICE officers to back off is a person in an inflatable frog suit casting spell. Van Jones, Thomas Friedman and Bill Maher share a good laugh at Van's "dead Gaza baby" joke. Greta Thuneberg addresses the media in Greece after being released by the IDF. Laura (34) and Cameron (38) earn over $200,000 a year and save thousands each month, yet every decision feels like a crisis. Laura, a first-generation Mexican American, grew up in financial chaos and now enforces strict rules, from tracking every purchase in YNAB to keeping Cameron on an allowance. Her dream is to hit Coast FIRE in five years. Cameron, meanwhile, just wants to enjoy life today—take a trip, fix the car, maybe even expand their family. Their daughter is four, and the question of whether to have another child looms large. Can Ramit help them break free from fear, build shared goals, and find a balance between saving for tomorrow and living fully now? A special thanks to DeleteMe for sponsoring this episode. If you want to get your personal information removed from the web, go to https://joindeleteme.com/ramit for 20% off. In this episode we uncover: • Why Laura enforces strict financial rules yet still feels unsafe despite saving half their income • How Cameron's “passenger” role with money leaves Laura carrying the weight • Why their $228,000 household income doesn't feel like “enough” in an affluent Chicago neighborhood • How childhood experiences shaped Laura's scarcity mindset • The emotional toll of living as if they are still poor, even with nearly half a million dollars in net worth • How FIRE gave Laura a sense of control and safety—but at the cost of enjoying life today • How chasing control keeps them feeling perpetually “behind” and unable to thrive • The stark contrast between Laura's authoritarian role and Cameron's passivity • How they can move beyond survival mode and start thriving by defining a shared Rich Life vision Chapters: (00:00:00) “I keep my husband on an allowance” (00:09:58) Ramit breaks down their numbers (00:25:05) “We feel poor… on $228,000 a year” (00:41:37) “My parents racked up debt in my name without me knowing” (00:54:48) “I keep us living small” (01:10:21) “CoastFi says we're fine—so why doesn't it feel real?” (01:24:06) “What would make the next 10 years magical?” (01:33:54) Where are they now? Why do empaths so often fall in love with the broken pieces of others? In this soulful and compassionate episode, Michaela explores the layered way empaths love, not just the person in front of them, but their pain, their potential, and their shadows. She dives into the mystical nature of empathic auras, how they absorb and reflect emotional energy, and why this can draw them toward relationships that are more toxic than tender. Michaela also talks about specific ways each empath aura falls into the trap of loving in layers. In this episode you'll hear about: The energetic nature of empath auras, what they are and how they workWhy empaths are naturally drawn to emotional wounds in othersThe magnetic pull between empaths and toxic relationship dynamicsHow to recognize when your compassion becomes self-sacrificeIf you enjoyed this episode, you'll love the links below:Discover more about yourself with Mystic Michaela's aura quizzes : https://knowyouraura.com/aura-quizzes/Find your aura color: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bonus-every-aura-color-explained/id1477126939?i=1000479357880Message Mystic Michaela on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mysticmichaela/Explore the Know Your Aura Website : https://knowyouraura.com/Visit Mystic Michaela's Website: https://www.mysticmichaela.com/Join Mystic Michaela's Popular Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2093029197406168/Our Episode Partners: For a limited time only, get 60% off your first order PLUS free shipping when you head to https://www.smalls.com/KYAGet $30 off the first box - PLUS free Croissants in every box - when you go to https://wildgrain.com/kya to start your subscription.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In 1925, famed British explorer Percy Fawcett set out on his most ambitious journey yet — to find a legendary city hidden deep in the Amazon. At his side were his 21-year-old son Jack and Jack's best friend, Raleigh Rimell. All three vanished without a trace. What began as a quest for discovery became one of the most enduring mysteries in the history of exploration. Sources: The Lost City of Z, film (2016).
