Dr. Tamie J. Jovanelly (aka Dr. Jo) is a Professor of Geology and a Research Affiliate at Berry College, Georgia. She received her PhD from Kent State University, her MS from the University of Nebraska, and her BS from the University of Michigan. Over two decades, her research has been broad-scoping and impressive. She is the sole author of the award-winning and best-selling monograph Iceland: Tectonics, Volcanics, and Glacial Features (Wiley, 2020). In continuation of her investigations in climate change, she received a Research Scientist position on a cruise to the International Territories of Svalbard in 2022. Dr. Jo's forthcoming book Volcanoes: What Everyone Needs to Know (Oxford University Press, July 2026), draws on more than 20 years of global research to provide an accessible exploration of how volcanoes shape our landscapes, climate, cultures, and travel experiences around the globe. With more travelers seeking meaningful, educational, and experience-driven adventures, Dr. Jo offers a unique perspective on why geology is becoming one of travel media's most fascinating emerging subjects. Through her tours and fieldwork, she's seen firsthand how volcanoes, glaciers, tectonic landscapes, and national parks can transform the way people connect with science and the natural world.More great information here:Volcanoes WENKhttps://adventuregeologytours.com http://www.malcolmteasdale.com

Keskustelu on laajennettu versio tämän kesän Desucon-ohjelmastamme. Ajankohtaisena aiheena puhumme siitä, miten Solut työssä -sarjan tekijä Akane Shimizu on avautunut kustannustoimittajien taholta kokemastaan ikävästä kohtelusta. Is it ambitious episode? Sure! It's The Loftus Party podcast with Michael Loftus! This time around we're chock full of news about Lindsey Graham, Housing Bills that should have been vetoed and a disturbing pattern of lots of talk and very little action from the GOP. Are we happy campers? I'm not. We got some Mitch McConnell stuff. Insight into the Odyssey and Woke Hollywood. Plus, hobby-less behavior and why hobbies are so awesome, updates on slut month, the sex bucket list and more! We'll sneak in as much fun as possible to maintain the balance. Before this episode was released, our guest, Pam Erwin, passed away after living with advanced melanoma. We are honored to share this conversation as part of her legacy.Pam spent her life saying "yes" to wherever God called her. From serving as a Disaster Relief chaplain alongside her husband, Dave, to helping build churches, schools, and vocational programs in Benin, West Africa, her faith wasn't something she simply believed—it was something she lived every day. Then came cancer.Diagnosed with a rare form of mucosal melanoma, Pam faced a terminal illness with the same quiet confidence that had guided her throughout her ministry. Even while receiving hospice care, she continued encouraging others, serving her community, and made one final mission trip to Benin—a place and people she dearly loved. In this deeply moving conversation, Pam shares why she isn't afraid of hospice, how faith transformed the way she approached cancer, and why she believes every day is another opportunity to love, serve, and point others toward hope.Whether or not you share Pam's faith, her perspective on purpose, legacy, and living fully in the face of uncertainty is both inspiring and unforgettable. In This EpisodeHow one prayer led to a life-changing ministry in BeninBuilding churches, schools, and hope in West AfricaLiving with a rare form of terminal melanomaWhy Pam chose hospice earlier than most people expectMaking one final mission trip despite advanced cancerFinding peace in the face of deathWhat it means to live with purpose until the very endWhy "Heaven is the top of my bucket list"Pam's life reminds us that while we can't choose every circumstance, we can choose how we respond. Her unwavering faith, compassionate heart, and servant's spirit continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.We dedicate this episode to Pam's memory and hope her words encourage you to live each day with purpose, hope, and love.Resources:Pam's Ministry Website: https://truthunleashedministries.org/Pam's Ministry Facebook Page: Truth Unleashed BeninFollow:Follow me: https://www.instagram.com/melissagrosboll/My website: https://melissagrosboll.comEmail me: drmelissagrosboll@gmail.com

Watch & Subscribe on YouTube @marladiann For many midlife women, solo travel isn't about checking destinations off a list. It's about friendship, confidence, curiosity, and remembering that life can surprise you in a good way when you least expect it. In this relatable episode, I'm joined by Gina Cambridge, ICF Certified Travel Coach, retreat host, and founder of Wanderlust Solo Women Tours and Wanderlust Travel Coaching. After experiencing her own season of reinvention later in life, Gina discovered how transformational travel helped her rebuild confidence, create meaningful friendships, and reconnect with herself. Today, she's helped hundreds of women experience the same through her curated retreats, tours, and purposeful adventures around the world. From New Zealand to Bali, Cuba and beyond, Gina's work is centered around helping women embrace freedom, courage, and the joy that comes from stepping outside their comfort zones. Inside this conversation, we explore: • Why traveling with fewer expectations can lead to richer experiences • How women in midlife are discovering new freedom, joy, and confidence through solo travel • How travel can become a catalyst for healing and reinvention • Why meaningful friendships often begin outside our comfort zones • The role intuition plays when planning journeys and creating experiences • How Gina navigated the uncertainty of the pandemic without giving up on her dream • The serendipities of life that emerged for Gina from local retreats and unexpected pivots What I love most about Gina's philosophy is that travel isn't simply about checking destinations off a bucket list. It's about saying yes to yourself. It's about remembering that life can still surprise you. And potentially, a plane ticket becomes the beginning of an entirely new chapter. Gina is generously sharing her free guide, Travel Solo with Confidence, filled with practical tips, confidence-building hacks, and encouragement for women dreaming about their own adventures. Moving to bitumen and coming up against a young Cam Waters and Anton de Pasquale.
