Kyle Grappone's story is relatable but also different from many of my guests. Kyle did not grow up overweight but instead saw the gains come once he was out on his own. He lived in a house that controlled portions and choices, but he never learned those lessons for himself. His journey is a rollercoaster that many of you will find familiar but his perspective and insights are definitely helpful to hear! “There are so many market leaders that were not the top company in their field. Google was the 23rd search engine that came onto the market. And now, we don't even say the word search engine, we say ‘Google'. There are people who will tell you that you shouldn't do it. But you must understand that you shouldn't care what other people think.” — Kyle Grappone

“It's not about going to class, It's about attending the classes that will help you achieve the life that you want” Kyle (@kylegspeaks) was tired of seeing so many people dissatisfied with life so he began doing what anyone would have done, he asked why and what was causing this? He has a similar path as a lot of us, he was working in corporate america listening to some many of his coworkers complain and be upset. What he found was that there were many tools, resources and businesses wanting to help you become something. Learn a trade, get a degree and analyze your strengths. But what about what you want to be? We never teach children or adults how to choose what's best for them or even most enjoyable. So he started reflecting on his experience and do some research. The conclusion was a book and then a company “To The Next Step” See when looking up at our lives there are many choices and things we are “supposed” to do. All that can create stress and unneeded anxiety. Instead of trying to tackle the long list of life long responsibilities at once he helps people break down life one step at a time. A simple way to look at his process is the quote above. When you can focus on classes being a stepping stone to the life you chose it's much easier to take on and complete. Its interesting to watch Kyle apply some of this to his own life. He needed an audience and the gatekeepers seemed to be holding it ransom so he wrote the book so people could choose to hear his message for themselves. Although social media is important to today's business world, posting daily on instagram won't necessarily get more people on his programs so he chose to use partnerships with local brick and mortar stores. Kyle has been very generous and has decided to give anyone who joins one of his programs a 10% discount if you mention his podcast episode. This is not a paid advertisement but a gift to the audience. We encourage people to take advantage of it. Join the conversation as Kyle Grappone and I talk about inspiring students and young adults to discover their passion - by focusing on "what type of person you want to become".Kyle Grappone is the founder of To The Next Step, an educational services company thatprepares students for the next steps in their lives, including college and entering the workforceand the real world that awaits them. His organization accomplishes these goals through anarray of services including motivational speaking keynotes, group workshops, self-help books, student success coaching, on-demand courses, live online classes, and various free resources.Kyle founded this organization after working and living in the aforementioned “real world” fornearly ten years. A few years after graduating he began to notice that the majority of hisco-workers seemed to dislike their jobs and worse, were dissatisfied with the type of person theyhad become and the life they were living. He began to dig deeper and discovered that one ofthe main reasons for the issue was because these graduates were not prepared for what wascoming after high school and college. They did not take the time to research and prepare fortheir futures. Instead, they adopted a “figure it out later” attitude, and when later arrived, theywere thrown into a world they knew nothing about, forced to take a job they did not want andended up living a life they never intended on living. The main message and purpose of To The Next Step is to help students understand theimportance of preparing for the futures. To inspire them to think differently about their educationand answer the question, “What type of person do you want to become?”. This change in mindset combined with the various services offered, Kyle is confident that students will move into the next phase of their life with a clear picture of where they are going, who they want to become, and what type of impact they want to have on their community and the world around them.To learn more about Kyle and To The Next Step, please e-mail him at: Kyle@KyleGrappone.com.www.mhnrnetwork.com
"One of the questions we ask is, 'What skills do you think today's graduates are lacking?' Everyone says the same thing: communication skills. They don't know how to communicate. They don't know how to talk to each other. Social media plays a huge role in that. If somebody is reaching out to you and you're not interested, just say 'No, thank you.' To not answer at all is just very poor communication skills. So I've taken a negative and tried to teach the students accordingly about it." — Kyle Grappone
