When your nonprofit outgrows spreadsheets and sticky notes, your impact can stall. In this episode, discover how smart, accessible data systems can free your team from copy‑and‑paste drudgery and unlock real capacity for relationship-building and growth. Key Takeaways: Resilience in the face of uncertainty can become the catalyst for building an entirely new, impact-driven business. As organizations grow, decentralized spreadsheets eventually break; a centralized database becomes essential to scale programs and funding. The most effective systems are co-created with the people doing the work, so they're intuitive, low-friction, and actually get used. Thoughtful automation should target repetitive, manual, time-consuming tasks so staff can focus on high-value relationship and strategy work. The people who step up to improve operations and systems often position themselves for future leadership opportunities inside their organizations. "You can think of Airtable like spreadsheets on steroids, or smarter spreadsheets." “Airtable really comes in at a point where people are really struggling with all of their spreadsheets and their data is in too many places, and that's when you start implementing a database to store and centralize all of that information.” “The key thing in automation that hasn't changed in the last while is just what sorts of things we want to automate: It's the repetitive work, the manual work, and the time-consuming work.” - Cherry Yang Cherry Yang is the founder of Claribase, an award-winning Airtable consultancy and Airtable's Non-Profit Vertical Partner of the Year. Why are school applications dropping in major cities like Washington, D.C.? Fewer families are applying due to immigration concerns, people moving out of cities, and lower birth rates reducing the number of students. This decline could lead to funding cuts and possible school closures as districts adjust (Source: Washington Post).

I recently went on live television — and it reminded me how much intentionality goes into both getting these opportunities and preparing for them. In this episode, I share how media invitations actually happened for me (spoiler: it wasn't cold pitching networks)… and how I prep so live TV doesn't fry my nervous system. If you have a book, retreat, teacher training, or offering you want to grow, this is the real behind-the-scenes. In this conversation, I cover:

If you've ever felt like leadership requires you to “put the suit on” and pretend you've got it all handled, this one will hit you right between the eyes. In this episode of Leadership That Sells, I'm joined by Will Steel, RAF veteran, high-performance coach, and author of Free to Lead. Will's worked with close to 100,000 people, and he has a gift for getting underneath the surface fast. We unpack the masks leaders wear, why so many founders burn out before they ever get a breakthrough, and how the real bottleneck is almost never “the business”. It's you. Your energy, your health, your beliefs, your need for approval, your fear of being seen. Will's core message is simple and confronting: stop performing leadership and start being you. Not the polished persona. The real you. That's where sustainable performance and real impact comes from. How to lead from identity, not ego, without burning out Notice the “act” you put on at work, and where it stops working (often at home first). Get brutally clear on the vision: once you're clear, the path becomes clear, then it's action and accountability. Stop telling people what to do; make them accountable for outcomes and let them self-generate the “how”. Replace drifting with structure: schedule your life, follow your schedule, and treat exercise and sleep like non-negotiables. Strip back limiting beliefs by tracing the story to its origin (often a childhood interpretation posing as “truth”). Practise real authenticity: acknowledge when you've been inauthentic, apologise, and choose a better way forward. Timeline summary [01:00] - Leadership without slogans: surfacing the patterns that actually create momentum [02:17] - The “strong leader” mask: confidence as performance, and the cost of wearing it [03:37] - Founders build a monster, then feel trapped inside it [06:06] - Clarity creates action: vision first, then accountability [07:20] - It's never the business problem: start with sleep, exercise, food, and time [10:39] - Stop telling people what to do: hold them accountable for outcomes instead [13:27] - Real leadership is causing others to be leaders, not acting like you've got it all figured out [18:51] - Will's RAF story: “you're like a ghost” and the moment he chose to be himself [22:01] - Fitra: your true essence, and why leadership is being your true self in any environment [23:58] - The only real authenticity: being authentic about being inauthentic [28:32] - Limiting beliefs: the three-year-old decision that quietly runs your adult life [33:41] - Reading isn't enough: the book works when you do the exercises and take action [38:09] - The final message: just start. In this week's episode of the Seven Figure Consultant Podcast, we're doing something a bit different! My guest Sharath Jeevan, Founder of The Generational Success Lab at Oxford's Said Business School, is interviewing me as we approach the one-year anniversary of my book 'Too Much'. If you've ever felt like your ambition was 'too much' for the world around you, or if you left corporate because you needed a bigger playing field to run on, this conversation is for you. Sharath and I explore how I went from a rebellious teenager who wanted to be a rock star to building a seven-figure consulting business that finally gives me the container I need. We talk about the corporate exit, the early days of celebrating £3,000 months, and what it really takes to build a business around your zone of genius rather than what you think you're 'supposed' to do. This is a candid conversation about legacy, ambition and what happens when you finally stop trying to fit into someone else's version of success. In This Episode: [00:01:33] How Jessica's early ambition and 'too much-ness' shaped her path - and why entrepreneurship became the only container that could hold her [00:05:16] The violin, physics homework, and parental expectations: navigating the gap between what your family wanted and who you actually are [00:10:22] The corporate years at Sony and the moment Jessica realized she'd rather be made redundant than stay - and what came next [00:17:50] Building a £3,000/month business from the attic and how Jessica's husband became her biggest supporter [00:22:49] The pivot moment: when Jessica stopped trying to 'follow the business plan' and started listening to what clients actually needed [00:27:14] Getting past comparisonitis and imposter syndrome and why one client sale fixes most business problems [00:29:34] Reflecting on the book 'Too Much', writing as legacy work, and what's next Key Takeaways: Entrepreneurship was the only container big enough: If you've always felt restless in corporate, it's not because you're broken. You just need a playing field where you can run as fast as you want without hitting a ceiling. The power of low-volume, high-ticket consulting: One client sale can fix most business problems. Five clients can fix almost everything. This is why we build businesses where you're not making 500 sales just to stay afloat. Your ambition isn't the problem. The context is: Jessica spent years being told she was 'too much'. The breakthrough came when she stopped trying to fit into someone else's version of success and built a business aligned with her actual genius. Quotes: "Entrepreneurship has been the only thing that I found, the only container that can actually hold me, that doesn't make me feel kind of trapped or restricted and gives me a big playing field where I can run as fast as I want." - Jessica Fearnley "I always try and go with the path of least resistance, keeping the bar as low as it can possibly be, because then it's like, I may as well have a go. And you know, more often than not it goes well and it works." - Jessica Fearnley "I'm really passionate about how we can be intentional about our legacy. You've done that very consciously and deliberately, and I'm very passionate about how we can all try and find that whatever way makes sense for us in our lives as well." - Sharath Jeevan Useful Links Sharath Follow Sharath on LinkedIn Sharath's Website: intrinsic-labs.com Episode 112: Encouraging Yourself to Make a Bigger Impact with Sharath Jeevan Jessica: Buy Jessica's book, Too Much, on Amazon Get in touch with Jessica to discuss your consulting business Leave a rating and review for the Seven Figure Consultant Podcast Connect with Jessica on LinkedIn Guest Bio Sharath is focused on helping Leaders across sectors futureproof success and build intentional legacy, with clients ranging from L'Oreal to the Barbican to the NHS. This week I'm doing something a little different. Because I'm talking about the collective rage (or helplessness) many of us might be feeling about the state of the world right now. And how we can use that to actually stop shrinking…and instead have an amazing impact on the world. How we personally can empower ourselves through things like redefining productivity, learning to rest without guilt, offering ourselves greater self compassion and breaking free from diet culture. The ultimate rebellion in a world that thrives from our sacrifice. And this isn't just about women's empowerment and rejecting hustle culture. It's about the fact that the more of us who stand up for ourselves and lean into a greater sense of self worth, the greater a ripple effect we create collectively. Here's what we'll cover:Why our anger is actually our powerThe systems that are keeping us distracted (our weight, our productivity and people pleasing)How we can all create a ripple effect when we stop shrinking and ultimately make this world a better place for all of usRESOURCES:Secret (& Free) Limited Podcast: Confident As F**k (Even When You're Not There Yet)Work with me: www.lifeeditcoaching.comInstagram: @lifeeditwithalix

In this episode of The Rainmaking Podcast, Scott Love speaks with Rachel Minion, founder of Rockstar & Moon, about how professionals can make a bigger impact through smarter, more intentional marketing. Rachel challenges the instinct to “do more” and instead urges business owners and service professionals to do less—but do it better. She explains that spreading energy across too many platforms and initiatives leads to diluted results, while focusing on a few high-impact actions accelerates growth. A core piece of that foundation is capturing success: turning client wins into case studies, testimonials, and social proof that sell future work far more effectively than any sales pitch. Rachel shares how even anonymized case studies—rooted in measurable outcomes—can generate immediate opportunities because prospects trust real results over marketing language. Rachel also emphasizes the power of automation to keep follow-up, nurturing, and onboarding consistent without overwhelming the professional. She explains how pre-call warmups, no-show follow-ups, “not now” sequences, and onboarding workflows can all run automatically while still feeling personal when handled thoughtfully. Instead of relying on memory or manual outreach, these systems create consistent touchpoints that nurture relationships until prospects are ready. She closes by offering three action steps: (1) focus only on the most impactful marketing activities; (2) actively seek out case studies and testimonials while the “win” is fresh; and (3) automate wherever possible to scale your time, maintain authenticity, and stay meaningfully connected with your audience. In this episode of the Tactical Living Podcast, hosts Coach Ashlie Walton and Sergeant Clint Walton dive into the impact of acts of service (Amazon Affiliate) in first responder relationships. When one partner works a high-stress, demanding job, small gestures of support can make a huge difference in reducing stress and fostering connection. Something as simple as packing their lunch or helping prep their uniform can ease their mental load and show that you have their back—even when the job is overwhelming. In this episode, we explore five simple yet powerful ways you can support your first responder spouse and why these small acts lead to a healthier, stronger relationship. 1. Why Acts of Service Matter in First Responder Marriages First responders often carry the weight of their jobs home with them, making stress management crucial for both partners. Small, thoughtful gestures can lessen decision fatigue, increase connection, and create a sense of teamwork in the relationship. 2. Five Simple Ways to Support Your First Responder Spouse 1. Packing Their Lunch or Meal Prepping for the Week Example: Preparing a healthy lunch or meal prepping ensures they have nutritious food instead of relying on fast food or skipping meals. Why It's Beneficial: Saves time and money during long shifts. Ensures they have energy to stay focused on the job. A small way to show love and care in a tangible way. 2. Prepping Their Uniform and Gear Example: Having their uniform ready, boots polished, and gear in order means they can start their shift stress-free. Why It's Beneficial: Reduces morning chaos and rushing before work. Helps them feel put together and confident. One less thing for them to worry about after a long shift. 3. Taking Care of Errands and Household Tasks Example: Handling grocery shopping, bills, or minor home repairs so they don't have to worry about it after an exhausting shift. Why It's Beneficial: Allows them to truly rest when they're home instead of feeling like they have another job waiting for them. Keeps the household running smoothly, reducing stress for both partners. 4. Creating a Quiet and Relaxing Home Environment Example: If they worked a night shift, ensuring the house stays quiet during their sleep hours. Why It's Beneficial: Helps maximize rest and recovery, which is crucial for performance on the job. Creates a peaceful retreat for them to decompress from work stress. 5. Offering Emotional Support Without Needing to "Fix" Everything Example: Simply listening when they vent instead of trying to give advice or solve their problems. Why It's Beneficial: Allows them to process emotions in a safe space. Strengthens trust and emotional connection in the relationship. Reinforces that they don't have to carry everything alone. 3. How Small Acts Create a Bigger Impact in Relationships These small gestures add up over time, creating a sense of partnership and support. A relationship built on mutual care and service is stronger and more resilient. 4. Why It's Not About Gender Roles—It's About Teamwork Acts of service aren't about traditional roles—they're about lightening the load for each other in whatever way works best for your relationship. 5. How to Incorporate These Habits Without Feeling Like a Burden Start small and simple—acts of service should be genuine, not forced. Ask your spouse what would help them the most. What seems small to you might be a huge relief for them. Why This Matters: Being in a relationship with a first responder means understanding the stress and demands of their job. By offering small but meaningful acts of service, you can ease their daily burdens, improve their well-being, and create a more connected, fulfilling relationship. Listen now to learn how these simple acts can transform your relationship!

Do you want to make a bigger impact? Then you need to listen in.The one thing that Melissa and I have discovered over the last several years is instead of trading time for money, instead of just going after one client for one transaction, one of the best things that we've been able to do for ourselves, our clients and our community was to find a way to work with people on an ongoing basis. Now, we're working with people that don't just want a quick fix. But they are actually experiencing a true transformation that takes time, that takes energy, that takes feedback. The quick fix isn't going to get you the impactful results; it's the long term that's going to get a win for everyone! That's why when it comes to making impact, we strongly recommend looking into the recurring model for your business, look into subscriptions or memberships because that's where the longevity is.That's going to get rid of the peaks and valleys and create a steady income stream so that you can be more present, be able to show up, help yourself, your family, and also, because you show up as a better and less stressed person, you then can serve your people, your community and make a ripple effect in the community, in the world where it's a win win for everyone all the way around!Think memberships, think recurring, think subscriptions when you want to make a greater and bigger impact. This week's episode on the Artist Academy Podcast is all about using a holiday promotion tactic that I'm currently implementing in my art business, and why I think it's a strategy you should consider for your own business. Whether you're selling murals, prints, small items, or custom canvases, I'm sharing why putting in that extra effort right now—right before Christmas—can make a huge impact. We're also talking about our recent mural meetup, where I'm sharing behind-the-scenes details on what we did, what we learned, and the things I'm putting into practice right away. I invited guest artists to teach me new techniques, and I'm excited to share how I'm applying what I've learned. Plus, I'm diving into why now is the perfect time to launch a big promotion for last-minute orders and quick-to-ship gifts. Instead of just posting about your products the usual way, I'm explaining how giving away something big or adding a special offer can create more buzz, get people talking, and drive real sales. This episode is about turning creative ideas into real opportunities and setting the stage for your biggest year yet.
