Thank you for listening! Kyle Pogue is a stand up comic living and working in Fort Collins, Colorado. He's a regular performer at The Comedy Fort in Fort Collins and Comedy Works in Denver. Pogue has been on a butt load of festivals, including the High Plains and Altercation comedy fests. He has also opened for Mishka Shubaly on the road, a resume which also includes almost getting in bar fights, being stranded in the desert for a while when it was pretty hot, not having a thought for three days after taking MDA, getting hammered at The Fun House, meeting a lot of comedy heros and one funny Englishman, and also telling jokes in every broken dive bar and dejected comedy room from Phoenix to New Orleans without the looming threat of fame or success to get in the way.
EPISODE 6: Goofin’ with Kyle Pogue! Kyle is a regular at the Denver Comedy Works, opened for Kyle Kinane, Mishka Shabaly, Doug Standhope and he recently quit comedy all together!
Pat and Al talk about being fish out of water in a nice neighborhood, being suspiciously good at trivia, bait campervans, bio-luminescence, the Sydney comedy scene and a guest set from Cody Cardinal doing Patrick Bonner's roast jokes for comedian Kyle Pogue's roast. Hey thanks so much for checking out Episode 3 of One on Lund! In this offering, Nathan updates listeners on his journey with the dreaded "King's Disease" known as gout and lists some of his favorite music choices to play before diving into the podcast. He also provides a brief history of Fort Comedy; aka David Rodriguez, Kyle Pogue, and Mallory Wallace. These three talented comedians joined forces a few years ago to create a comedy scene in Fort Collins, a college town about an hour north of Denver, and boy did they succeed! There are now a multitude of supportive and fun rooms in FoCo, both open mics and showcases, and much of the credit goes to these three friends for their hard work and dedication. Though Kyle and Mallory no longer live in Fort Collins, they should be proud of what they accomplished up there. Kudos to Fort Comedy! Nathan shares the details of a recent conversation with one of his first friends in the Denver comedy scene, the hilarious Dick Black, and discusses how comedy rules, hard. Although it can be extremely frustrating to attempt to make a living via stand up comedy, if you love the act of making people laugh you will find a way to survive. He also shares some of his favorite advice about comedy from the extremely talented Andrew Orvedahl and comedy legend Dana Gould. One on Lund is a painfully personal podcast featuring Denver Comedy Champion Nathan Lund. Nathan has performed the glorious art of stand up comedy for 14 years and has finally ventured into the wide world of podcasting. Join Nathan as he shares his opinions on comedy, life, and all things under the sun.
Kyle Pogue sits down with James to discuss masculinity, oil rigs, and reading erotica from the women's perspective. Good stuff! He also shares the (viscous) link between his first kiss and losing his virginity.
