The Beer Culture Center was founded by Liz Garabay, a long-time museum professional. When she sketched it out in 2013 she wanted it to be a place that would look at history and society through the lens of drinking. The idea came to life and has now presented hundreds exhibits and events around the country. It's important and necessary work, one everyone in the industry should be supporting. The center also hosts the annual Beer Culture Summit, a multi-day, multi-disciplinary experience that tells the story of beer, its people, its history, and its importance. As the center expands, it recently announced its first Beer History Studies Fellow, Onteya Zachary. She will share insight into her research and more. In Park City, Utah, Offset Bier is doing big things. In a state with laws that can make it tough to be a brewer, Conor Brown, the brewery founder, is doing what he can to bring fresh flavorful beer to the people all while creating a welcoming community space. He's currently working to build out the brewery footprint, bringing in new equipment and adding more space, and at this time of year he finds the time to make frequent trips to Idaho where he loads up on fresh hops to bring back to the brewery for quick turnaround brew days. It's the kind of commitment that bodes well for the future of craft beer. For more Drink Beer, Think Beer check out All About Beer.SponsorsDogfish Head Craft BreweryCalling all hop heads! In an episode that crescendos from silly to serious, Check Your Brain's Tony Mazur gets in the Wayback Machine to the early 2010s and covers the phase the West went through with hipsterdom. Hipster culture was exemplified by a phony blue-collar motif, making practical things slightly worse, and listening to terrible music like The Lumineers and Mumford & Sons (hence "stomp, clap, hey"). It's more of a mirror into the sad lives many 1980s-born Millennials have experienced and are currently experiencing, through some fault of their own. But it's not all serious, as Tony talks about his recent string of odd concerts he has seen. Be sure to subscribe to Tony's Patreon. $3 gets you just audio, $5 gets video AND audio, and $10 has all of the above, as well as bonus podcasts per week. Visit Patreon.com/TonyMazur. (INSERT AI GENERATED DESCRIPTION) In a wild ride from Mumford's banjo-banging nostalgia to the existential dread of dodging "whitefish" women and their psychic cock-blocking accusations, this episode spirals into a cosmic roast of corporate clowns and their penny-pinching, soul-crushing shenanigans. It's a fever dream of stomp-clap anthems, suburban white flight, and the eternal quest to not be screwed over by a system that hands out bonuses like candy to CEOs who tank Bed Bath & Beyond.

We're back in the studio for Episode 299, shaking off the summer sand and diving into all the ministry mayhem we missed while you were at camp, VBS, or just trying to survive without air conditioning. In this episode: • We share our best (and worst) Baptism Sunday strategies—what worked, what flopped, and how to keep the water warm and the volunteers sane. • Frank gives us the inside scoop on Vision Sunday at Lakeview and the official launch of Cross & Crown Church, complete with a new logo and fresh t-shirts (soft cotton, obviously). • Oh, and yes... there's a real-life waffle stomp story. It's exactly what you're afraid it is.As always, we're bringing honest talk about life, ministry, and the strange things that happen the morning after.Rate, review, share it with your worship pastor, and please—for the love of all that is holy—check the drain cover before you hop in the church baptismal.
Beer recipes are always evolving. Recently, a group got together to faithfully rebrew a west coast IPA that happened to be the original version of Swami, the famed Pizza Port Brewing Beer. REXBURG -- A band that began in Rexburg years ago is returning from its home in Utah to share their music with the community during a local concert series. Local Kin, a stomp and holler folk band is set to perform in Rexburg Monday at Porter Park in the Beehive Pavilion. Their performance is one of many for Arts at the Park, a Rexburg Arts live entertainment series.
Ken Banta is the founder and CEO of The Vanguard Network, a by-invitation-only community for top-level executives. He and his firm help C-Suite executives and business owners fine-tune their management skills, build valuable new relationships, and elevate the performance of their organizations. One of Ken's surprising recommendations is that companies do away with long-term strategic plans and instead focus primarily on the immediate horizon. “The way things move today is so quick and so unpredictable that having detailed strategies …seems to me to be really antiquated,” he says, akin to trying to predict the location of the next lightning strike. Ken is the author of Seeing Around Corners: C-Suite Wisdom from America's Most Insightful Leaders, a powerful collection of leadership insights from dozens of wise CEOs, general counsels, and boardroom veterans. But Ken's insights aren't only applicable to large companies and for-profit organizations. Any effective leader can take away a great deal of actionable advice from Ken's book and this week's conversation. Wouldn't it be nice to see around the next corner? Monday Morning Radio is hosted by the father-son duo of Dean and Maxwell Rotbart. We all want to hike safely, but is there a way to hike the safest? For some, the illusion of safety is lost when faced with the prospect of needing a rescue and the reality of the fine print. In the same vein as 'Black Mirror,' 'Have a Better One' is a satirical glimpse into a dystopia where search and rescue, like your local car wash, works on a tiered service model.
