“If I hadn't have known that was Anthrax, I would have guessed it was Alice In Chains…”   The early 90's was a strange time for metal, most notably due to the change in the musical landscape with the emergence of the Seattle scene and Alice In Chains becoming one of the key crossover bands to bridge the transition from thrash to the next wave of darker, grungier sounding heavy metal.    “Every time you do that, I have a less chance of getting laid…”   While ANTHRAX began the 90's with a much darker and angrier sound on Persistence of Time, the darkness and heaviness of their sound would become further amplified with the departure of Joey Belladonna and the addition of JOHN BUSH (formerly of Armored Saint) on vocals, resulting in a new era of Anthrax: BUSHTHRAX!    With more grit and heft in the vocals than before, the JOHN BUSH ERA of ANTHRAX is definitely a different flavor than the band's output throughout the 80's with Joey Belladonna, and with the changing of the guard in the early 90's due to the growing popularity of the Seattle sound, the time was right for a slight alteration to the thrashier sounds of 80's era ThrashThrax, resulting in the darker, more aggressive BUSHTHRAX era that would follow for the next decade or so.   “Alright, well it's not like we've never done that for you before…”   Always remember that “springtime LSD is the best time for LSD” and that “it's not as fun for me when I push away”. Am 20. Februar treten 12 Acts beim Vorentscheid "Vienna Calling - Wer singt für Österreich" an, um Österreich am 16. Mai beim großen Eurovisions-Finale in Wien vertreten zu dürfen.Philip Piller tritt mit "Das Leben ist Kunst" an. Er erzählt von der Unmöglichkeit, den perfekten ESC-Song zu schreiben. Sein Lieblings-Eurovision-Song ist "Shum" von Go_A.Bamlak Werners Song heißt „We are not just one thing“ und im Interview erfahren wir, warum sie sich jetzt nicht mehr Cloudhead nennt. Und ihr liebster ESC-Beitrag ist jetzt gerade "Merci, Chérie" von Udo Jürgens.David Kurt singt "pocket full of snow" beim Vorentscheidung. Mit uns spricht er über echte Gefühle beim Song-Schreiben. Ihre gemeinsame Vergangenheit mit den anderen Acts von Stamania21 hat sie nachhaltig geprägt. Entsprechend ist natürlich JJs "Wasted Love" gerade ihr Lieblingslied vom ESC.Simon und Alkis plaudern über Vidbir, den ukrainischen Vorentscheid, den schlussendlich LELÉKA mit "Ridnym" gewonnen hat.In der Kleinen Geschichte am Schluss erzählt Simon von Ausfällen. As the ALDC heads to Detroit for Energy Dance, they're not only up against Jeanette and Ava who are looking for payback, they're struggling openly with Abby's continued disrespect of her own team.At the competition Abby and Jeanette are almost immediately at each other's throats, first with Abby rebuffing JC Broadway Dance Academy's greeting and then with Jeanette unsuccessfully attempting to make peace with Abby before things get underway. Instead Abby breaks the cardinal rule of going backstage to keep an eye on Jeanette and eventually starts taunting Ava. This brings out Energy Dance head Gina who gets into it with Abby over her unprofessionalism.Not to be outdone, Holly also gets into a major fight with Abby. Holly addresses the photoshoot issue from earlier in the week directly to Abby, and Abby begins to insinuate that Nia needs her more than she needs Nia. But a line was clearly crossed and Holly becomes more angry than we've ever seen on the show to date.At the very least the girls put on an incredible showcase this week with their performance of Stomp the Yard. Somehow despite a truly weird gimmick and much hand wringing over how bad the jumpsuits were, it's arguably one of the best dances in ALDC history! And hey, not only do we get no more Christi and Kelly flack next episode, it's also Jojo's ALDC debut next week!
