MP4 Video with subtitles Welcome to "Vanished: The Secret of British Columbia" - a chilling exploration of one of Canada's most perplexing mysteries. Join us on this immersive journey as we delve deep into the enigma of why so many people go missing in this picturesque province. In each gripping episode of this series, we examine the lives and fates of individuals who once laughed, loved, and dreamed, only to vanish without a trace. These are not just statistics; they are sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, and friends whose absence continues to impact the lives of those they left behind. British Columbia's stunning beauty conceals a haunting reality – a prevalence of struggles like depression, loneliness, and the specter of suicidal ideation. As we shine a light on these cases, we uncover answers and lingering questions, mysteries that gnaw at our hearts. We explore unsolved cases that challenge law enforcement and communities alike. We delve into the complexities of the province's rugged terrain, where wild animals and natural hazards could be culprits, or where foul play and human abduction might cast their ominous shadows. Urban areas are not immune, with factors like crime, homelessness, and drug use contributing to disappearances. Indigenous communities, disproportionately affected by the missing persons crisis, reveal the impact of historical and ongoing injustices. We investigate the grim reality of human trafficking, thriving in British Columbia's proximity to international borders and transportation hubs. Yet, beneath this unsettling underbelly, we confront the enduring resilience of families and communities determined to unearth the truth. With each episode, we navigate through the labyrinth of mysteries, urban legends, and rumors, seeking to shed light on the darkest corners of this land. Join us on a riveting journey as we cross the border between the known and the unknown, peeling back layers of secrecy to reveal the gripping accounts of those who vanished without a trace. "Vanished: The Secret of British Columbia" is more than a documentary series; it's a call to engage in conversations about the larger forces at play and the lives forever changed by these enduring mysteries. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darkminddetective/message
The new Cutting Edge way of delivering videos is not via streaming on the web but via a video file called MP4 and a storage device called a flash drive which we send in the mail just like we did with the DVDs. One big advantage here is that the flash drive weighs less than one ounce and will hold dozens of videos on one drive so shipping is less costly than with DVD. These little drives plug into the USB port on your computer and you can watch the videos. Flash drives are not new and they are available at Walmart, Dollar General and most any store that has a gadget section. They are about the size of your thumb. We will discuss the good, the bad and the ugly off streaming online and the advantage of flash drives and DVDs in this podcast.Support the show Sign up for our free newsletters at the bottom of our home page Visit our book and video store Check our Daily News Updates

This episode was recorded at the tek12 uncon in front of a live studio audience. We talk about pair programming, what we’d recommend to folks who want to start programming, the PHP-FIG & PSRs, and our favorite events from tek12. Also Chris punched Ed a couple times. It hurt. Video hosting for this episode is provided by WonderNetwork, who generate some really cool ping data. This was lots of fun, and we want to thank all the folks who came out and participated. Extra special big thanks to Michelangelo Van Dam for lending us his audio recording hardware, and Cal Evans for recording the video!
