In this message, we are pleased to welcome Nigel “Legin” Anderson as our guest speaker. A lifelong Hampton Roads resident, Nigel lives in Norfolk, Virginia, with his wife Tia and two children. Nigel's teaching will bless and encourage you. Join us as he opens God's Word.
At some point in our life, we will all likely find ourselves exactly where Jonah did, at the bottom. It’s here that we find out "who" or "what" we put our trust in and where we learn more about the heart of God. Join us this Sunday, as Nigel Anderson helps us better understand the heart of God and the hope He gives during the hard times.
When you think of God's love and pursuit of you do you often feel like your response to Him falls short? This week, Nigel Anderson will help us unpack Romans 12:1-2 and consider our intentional response to living the full life to which God has called us.
God can and will do mighty things through us despite our circumstances when we are fully submitted to the Savior. This week, Nigel Anderson will be preaching and continuing our series in the book of Judges. We will examine Gideon and God’s extreme faithfulness in the face of weakness and brokenness. We will also be hearing from our partners at the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia and celebrating the results from our recent "We Feed" food drive. We hope you can join us this Sunday for fellowship and worship!

On this final part of the Father's Day series here on the Heart Lessons Podcast, Nigel Anderson shares his perspective on fatherhood, approaching racial issues with grace, and how we can all be unified under the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is a very sensitive but very important topic, and I am so thankful for Nigel's willingness to share his heart and his wisdom and speak into these issues with such a spirit of grace. May you receive it with just as much love and grace. If we are not intentional about keeping Christ at the center of everything we will find something to put there. If you're a Christian you should care about everything because of the Imago Dei and if not, you should fight to view all of it as important. We need to get out of the identity of our camps and figure out what the meaning of a real Christian is. The intentionality of the gospel is the restoration of a relationship that was eternally severed. Everyone's perspective is valid and it is, by definition, incomplete. The solution is knowing people. A prayer before confronting another's perspective: In this moment, Lord, give me grace to listen and wisdom to know if I should say something and if so, what that something should be. We are all different and that is fine. It is beautiful. We should elevate the gospel above all else. Related Material: The Way (song) My Role in Racial Reconciliation (blog post)

As we continue to discuss rhythms of life and rest/work balance, this Sunday, Nigel Anderson will talk about the uncomfortable yet necessary process of "pruning". We will see how God uses it to grow us into who He desires us to be.

God meets us in the most unexpected places and with exactly what we need at that moment. This week, Nigel Anderson will examine the famous story of Lazarus and how God met Mary and Martha in two very unexpected and unique ways.

There are areas of our lives where we find it easy to be generous and serve. If we are honest those areas have boundaries as to how much we are willing to give up. This week Nigel Anderson will wrap up the Hope Resurrected series and examine the life of Peter, an eye witness to the resurrection, and see that as the source of his hope shifted so did the life he was willing to live. Let's discuss how that same hope impacts us today.

Have you ever been paralyzed by a fear of failure? If so, you know its lasting sting and that it does not feel good. It definitely does not scream "this could be good for you!" This week, Nigel Anderson will take a look at Moses' first major set back in Exodus 5 and examine our own lives in light of God's sovereignty. We hope you can join us as we worship together, consider God's truth for us this week and pick back up with our sermon series EXODUS.

On daily basis, we are all tempted with slipping into unhealthy comparisons of ourselves, other people, and things. This week, Nigel Anderson will encourage us to intentionally look at the commendation of the Lord over the things that distracts us from Him and His glory. We hope will join us as we hear from the Word of God and worship.

In this season of Thanksgiving and celebration, we continue to recognize the deep need for unity in our lives, relationships and nation. This Sunday, Nigel Anderson will help us look at how a genuine belief in the Hope of Christ should result in Tangible Outcomes and an outflow of Unity in our daily living. We hope you will join us as we worship together as a family. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

David is remembered as one "after God's own heart." This week Nigel Anderson will examine how, despite Davids massive sins, he is remembered in the scriptures as one of God's greatest followers. Our prayer this week is that we will all be encouraged to pursue absolute dependence on God as we seek to be "Living Stones".

This Sunday we are beginning a new sermon series called STAND ALONE. As believers, we all understand that something beyond what we see exists, but it seldom feels experiential or real. It feels mystical, out of touch; overemphasized or ignored. At the end of the day most of us just don’t understand it. Join us, as Nigel Anderson unpacks some of these spiritual realities.

Everyone knows that suffering is an undesired part of life, but can suffering be used for God's glory? This week Nigel Anderson will continue our journey through Peter's letter to the persecuted church. We will discuss how hardships can ultimately reaffirm our need and desire for God's glory in and through our lives. We will also have some special music performed by a guest worship leader, Laquan Green, and we will be taking communion together as a church family. This promises to be another impactful and inspiring Sunday of worship together. We hope you can join us!

Join us this Sunday as Nigel Anderson (a.k.a. "Legin") continues the sermon series ME, MYSELFIE, & I. The phrase "dying to self" is often used in church circles, but not normally discussed. Is it merely being selfless? Misunderstood, it is possible that it can lead to negative outcomes. This week we will discuss what it means to die to self while having new life in Christ and examine a famous biblical figure to help our understanding. We hope you can join us!

We should experience incredible joy with God, but how do we continually extend that to the people around us through Discipleship? This week Nigel Anderson will continue the series, "The Way of the Cross" by looking at the way in which Jesus initiated discipleship and how we can do the same in our daily life with others.
