Lately with terms like Fake News, Media Bias, liberal, and conservative media; the news has really been getting a bad rap. Is it warranted? Is there a more sinister plot to manipulate the population? Is there more going on behind the scenes that we don't see or understand? So many questions, but few answers. Well in this episode Legin sits down with Wavy News 10 Anchor Katie Collett, who not only gives us answers but also a look behind the broadcasting curtain. That's about all the teaser we can give you here but the rest of the secrets are right behind that play button! Enjoy the season 3 finale episode. The story that matters here are the stories being told the community.
In this selfish society of today, many of us tend to think about the home team first, the folks who we relate to the most second, and as for the rest you're on your own! On this episode of The Legin Podcast we dive into why that way of thinking is terrible for personal progress and the growth of humanity as a whole. We need each other much more than we realize and since this season is about how your story matters, we'll also get into how our stories weave together collectively to create something beautiful! Tune in and tell a friend.... The Legin Podcast episode 9 is up!
It was once said that whoever controls the media, controls the mind. Well I'm not sure who exactly is running the internet these days but they definitely keep our brains overly occupied. Though there are many perks to it, there's also a downside when it comes to the fire feeding nature of the algorithm. Your favorite social media site will serve up a constant flow of whatever you're into; good, bad, or indifferent. If you're not careful it can cause a skewed idea of reality and the World around us. This leading to division and the belief that anyone who thinks differently may be your enemy. From race, health, politics, to activism and so much more; This episode crawls down that rabbit hole of digital narratives, and group think scenarios that could damage the current way we see people and see life itself. Brace yourself for Episode 8 of The Legin Podcast "Eaten by the Algorithm"
So we interrupt our regularly scheduled programming for a super dope live show you probably should have come to; even if you had to catch a flight, cause it was seriously that amazing. But if for some odd reason you didn't make it, we were nice enough to film this blessing of a bonus episode for you and your family to enjoy. Great conversation from the usual suspects of The Legin Podcast but the input and testomonies from the crowd really made this event a night to remember. Insight, substance, and many seeds planted. Click play, enjoy, and send us any input you'd like to add to the conversation. The Legin Podcast is at it again
Sooo we're back!! And in this episode we continue the conversation of The Art of Story Telling. In the last episode you heard why it's important to tell your story and why you should share your testimony of escape, freedom, or encouragement that everything is going to be alright. But on the flipside, we all know that person who will talk you to death and resesitate you back to life only to continue the long winded conversation. (Don't be that person) We also may have met someone who makes the conversation wierd in delivery. (Definitely don't be that person either) SO in episode 6 we decided to take a deep dive into HOW to tell your story. Much needed content here for any and everyone with the gift of speech, so TUNE IN AND TELL A FRIEND! The Legin Podcast is Back!
So we're a lil older than we used to be but the beautiful thing about aging is the wisdom gained from the experiences life has brought our way. With that comes stories to tell and a generation gap to fill with the information. The biggest issue is how do we deliver these valuable stories and testimonies? In this episode we not only get into why iron sharpens iron but how do we share our stories. Why we need each other and why that infinite catalogs of personal experiences along the way are vital to share and help save others from the past problems we've once faced and got through. Watch share and spread the word! The Legin Pocast is back with another banger

Once upon a time you could turn on your television and find countless shows about positive lifestyles and wholesome families. The radio played music that advocated knowledge, intellect, and uplifting the people. What happened?? These days Music and Media seem to be celebrating our downfall. Is our music, social media alghorithms, and entertainment guiding us in the wrong direction? Are the narratives and stories told in rap songs of today part of the problem or just harmless entertainment and forms of expression. Is art imitating life or Life imitating art? Have we become hypocrytes who celebrate what we say we despise and becoming an accomplice in our own demise? In this episode we'll tackle these questions and have real conversation about the stories and narratives pushed through entertainment today. Mental warfare and a battle for the mind or free speech and harmless entertainment? Let's talk about it on todays episode of The Legin Podcast. *** Sponsored by Aviaition Institute of Maintenance, Centura College, Tidewater Tech + Chick-fil-a Broadcreek Crossing in Norfolk, VA AIM/Centura/Tidewater Tech: To start a new good paying career is the high demand field of Aviation Maintenance visit https://aviationmaintenance.edu/ CFA: For some good food (you already know) OR if you need a good environment to work (they really take care of their people), visit my folks at https://www.chick-fil-a.com/locations/va/broad-creek-crossing Subscribe, Give us a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rating, and Share on your socials! Research is clear - Dads matter! And whether young or old, male or female, we all consider his presence one of the most important factors/elements in our lives both for good or bad. However, despite the overwhelming amount of research that supports the positive impact a father's presence can have on his children's lives, we find ourselves in what many have identified as a “pandemic of fatherlessness” in our country today. If the stats hold true, nearly 40% of kids will at some point wake up in a home where their biological father does not live. And that to me my friends is not only devastating, but actually become detrimental to the trajectory of a child's life. In knowing this, we wanted to have a real and honest conversation around the topic of fatherlessness, but also what it looks like to push beyond the pain by stepping into the path and process of forgiveness. Thankfully, today we have a very special guest who easily has one of the most powerful testimonies I've ever heard involving pain and brokenness but also forgiveness and restoration within a father-son relationship. Joining us today is spoken-word and gospel hip-hop artist, podcaster, and preacher, Legin! Inspired by his father's battle with addiction, Legin speaks about turning fatherlessness into forgiveness, racial reconciliation and urban apologetics, as well as the hope of the gospel in and throughout his music. Our prayer is that through today's you would be reminded of the power and peace found in forgiveness as well as the reminder that although you may be damaged, you are not defeated. And how do I know that? Because what's damaged you will never define you. What do you do when your past comes back to haunt you – even the parts you thought you were over and done with? This situation can happen regardless of who you are, what you do, or even if you are in ministry. Brandon Pickett talks with spoken word artist and preacher/teacher Nigel “Legin” Anderson in today's Not Alone Podcast. Legin thought he had dealt with the psychological issues of fatherlessness but found that God still wanted to do a work in him. Together, Brandon and Legin talk about the results of a year of counseling and how God used it and turned it into a powerful concert series called, Good Enuf. This virtual concert is unique in that Legin actually invites you into his first counseling session during multiple songs. They also talk about how the Bible teaches us that ALL people are worthy of God's love and grace. So, no matter where they've come from or what they are doing, if God loves them - we should share the Gospel which is the only thing that can heal and save.

On this episode, we celebrate Black History APPRECIATION Month by encouraging everyone to do something that normally isn't done concerning Black history in our society: learn about it. The REAL it; the one that normally isn't mentioned in the rhetoric of America. Even Christian America. And, in light of many recent events, we begin the process of taking an in depth look at leadership culture in the church. Most significantly, we study and address how things like leadership and vision are often mistaken at best, or flat out conflated, with something far more important and...well...biblical. It seems like the race conversation gets avoided in Church for fear of the unknown. But the actual message of the Gospel commands intentional reconciliation, no matter the cost. This week Legin interviews Pastor Eric Sanzone from Grace Bible Church in Virginia Beach, VA on why they, as a thriving mega-church, have taken "risks" in addressing this divisive issue and what it's looked like for them. FEAR NOT isn't for the fearless, just for those who fear less. Let's talk tough topics and chasing dreams in the face of real fears (Josh 1:9). tinyurl.com/leginfearnot instagram.com/legintv facebook.com/legintv twitter.com/legintv 757-330-8383 (Text Updates)

I hear a lot of folks talking smack about what the church supposedly isn't doing or should be doing to help people. Scott Lane chops it up with one of the lead rap vocalists of Renaissance Music Group, Sinai the Overcomer. Sinai is much more than a Christian rapper though. In this interview, Sinai talks about the work he and his team are doing to help build an orphanage and "Safe House Community" which is taking direct action against sex trafficking in Pretoria, South Africa. Sinai, Legin, and Mike Bell have released an album entitled "Safe House" and are committing every dollar they make from album sales to building the Safe House orphanage and community. You can get more information about the work they're doing at www.safehouseproject.org Key Topics: -Intervening against sex trafficking in South Africa -What is the Safe House Project? -How to support the Safe House Project -Recently recording a song with Christian rapper Da Truth -Controversy in Christian hip-hop culture between artists who focus on the church and artists that focus on audiences outside the church. -All the revenue from the Safe House album goes toward building an orphanage/safe house and resource center in Pretoria, South Africa. PLEASE SUPPORT TODAY!!! Special feature: This episode ends out with Sinai's the hit single "Refugee" feat. Da Truth

Join us this Sunday as Nigel Anderson (a.k.a. "Legin") continues the sermon series ME, MYSELFIE, & I. The phrase "dying to self" is often used in church circles, but not normally discussed. Is it merely being selfless? Misunderstood, it is possible that it can lead to negative outcomes. This week we will discuss what it means to die to self while having new life in Christ and examine a famous biblical figure to help our understanding. We hope you can join us!
