Modern culture tells young adults to delay marriage for career and "freedom," but Brad's talk, Get Married Young, uses data to challenge that script. He breaks down the Midas Mindset—the belief that happiness comes from chasing success—by showing that married fathers are statistically the most fulfilled. This isn't a plea for nostalgia; it's a reality check on what actually brings lasting joy. Brad reframes marriage not as a loss of independence, but as a vital transition from boyhood to maturity. By prioritizing commitment and shared purpose over endless self-actualization, he offers a countercultural path to a more meaningful life. If you're ready to rethink the timeline for success, this conversation is essential listening. Resources: Watch the talk, Get Married Young by Brad Wilcox on THINQMedia.com. JOIN THE WELL BOOK A COACHING DISCOVERY CALL Peace is not something we force or manufacture. It's something we find when we slow down, become present, and make room for God to meet us where we are.In this episode, I share how peace became more accessible in my own life when I stopped pushing through and started building restorative rhythms into my everyday days. Not as indulgence. Not as escape. But as a faithful, embodied way of living with God.We talk about why peace often feels elusive, especially for women who carry a lot, and how simple daily practices can help us become more available to the peace God is already offering. This episode is not about adding more to your plate. It's about creating space to receive what God has already promised. If this episode resonates, consider choosing one or two practices to try this week. Peace grows through repetition, not perfection. In this episode, we explore:You'll hear about restorative practices like:Beginning the day without immediate inputCreating daily “return to self” ritualsLinear living and doing one thing at a timePhone-free spaces and timesDaily pauses that restore the body and soulMaking room for pleasure, rest, and predictability
Pastor Caleb Cole closes the Rhythms series with “Disordered Desire (Physical Health),” a message about honoring God with our bodies. Teaching from 1 Timothy 4, Philippians 3, Romans 12, and 1 Corinthians 9, he explains how sin distorts desire and how healthy rhythms of movement, rest, and self-control support spiritual growth. This episode calls believers to glorify God with their whole lives.Click here to view the episode transcript. PRE-ORDER the upcoming book now: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/the-bookThe new Food Pyramid is released in the United States, turning the old one on its point. Regardless of how you feel about the administration it is released under, the focus has shifted from carbs and demonizing fats to centering protein, vegetables, nuts, beans and healthy fats. Camille reminds us that it is a guideline, not a hard and fast rule, because diverse bodies have diverse needs. And, she reminds us, science is always evolving, and should be questioned, so this will not be the last food pyramid. Luis is excited about the shift because so many illnesses, such as diabetes, high cholesterol, anxiety and cognitive decline can be traced to excess glucose, a byproduct of all those refined cards we were told to eat in the old mythology (funded by cigarette companies). All those ultra processed foods leave us with less macro-nutrients, therefore less nourished, and with less GLP1 in the body telling us when are a satiated. At first glance eating a balanced whole foods diet might seem more expensive, but considering long term health consequences and quality of life impacts, the balanced approach is economical. Gleefully, beans hold rank in the new pyramid. Luis and Camille indulge some excitement over this point. They also discuss grass-fed versus mass produced meat, what they think of the inclusion of dairy, and the proportions that are recommended. Dive in to geek out with Luis and Camille as they explore this new dietary recommendation. Are you looking for tools that clarify, simplify, and anchor faithful stewardship in biblical wisdom? That question has shaped our vision for the newly updated FaithFi app—a discipleship tool designed to help you build financial rhythms that bring peace, clarity, and Christ-centered focus to your money decisions. To help unpack what's new, we sat down with Chad Clark, Chief Technology Officer at Kingdom Advisors and FaithFi. Chad has led the development of the FaithFi app since day one, shaping it into a tool that serves real families seeking to honor God with His resources. When the app first launched, the goal was straightforward: build a biblical stewardship tool that was both practical and accessible. Early versions focused primarily on budgeting and cash-flow management. Over time, the app expanded to include a robust content library of articles, podcasts, and videos, along with a community discussion board—features that helped users learn and encourage one another. This latest update is the biggest we've ever released, and Chad explains what guided the development:“One of the most important questions we can ask when building technology is: How do we make it simpler for the user? Money can be complex. Budgeting software shouldn't make it harder.”To solve that problem, the update introduces:Secure bank connections for importing balances and transactionsNew simplified budgeting tools that make setup easyImproved automated categorization to reduce manual workThese upgrades are designed to help users spend less time tinkering with tools and more time reflecting on the why behind their financial decisions. One of the standout features in the new update is something we're calling Rhythms—structured daily, weekly, and monthly check-ins that help users slow down, reflect, and respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively.Daily rhythms pair brief transaction reviews with short devotionals and reflection questions. Weekly and monthly rhythms zoom out, helping users observe habits, cash-flow patterns, and financial goals—all with suggested adjustments and heart-level reflection prompts.Chad notes that these rhythms are especially powerful for couples who want to cultivate greater unity and shared stewardship. With a simple weekly or monthly check-in, couples can talk, plan, pray, and adjust together. The update also brings FaithFi content directly into the app in a more seamless and beautiful way. Faithful Steward magazine articles will now have a mobile expression, and studies and devotionals will soon follow. It's one more way the app is becoming a true financial discipleship environment rather than just a budgeting tool. The app now includes optional AI features—but with intentional guardrails. All AI is opt-in, self-hosted, and never sent to third-party models. The goal isn't novelty or complexity; it's simply to automate tedious workflows and simplify budgeting so users can focus not merely on what they're doing with money, but why.“The goal,” Chad says, “is to help people be attentive and obedient to what God is calling them to do with what He's entrusted to them.”Stewardship grows when we slow down, pay attention, and invite God into the decisions we make with His resources. The updated FaithFi app was built to help you do exactly that—establishing rhythms that encourage wisdom, gratitude, reflection, unity, and greater participation in God's Kingdom work. The new version is available now. Just search FaithFi in your app store, or visit FaithFi.com and click App.On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:I have an annuity that will mature in a year or two. Send us a textYou've had insight before. The clarity, conviction, and even real momentum. And yet, somehow, it didn't last.If you've ever wondered why meaningful change feels so hard to sustain, this episode is for you.In this conversation, Amy explores why insight alone—no matter how true or powerful—rarely leads to lasting transformation. Not because you failed, but because insight was never meant to carry the full weight of change on its own. This episode gently reframes skepticism as wisdom-in-the-making and invites you to consider a different path forward & one rooted in formation rather than intensity. You'll explore:Why insight often sparks change but can't sustain itHow intensity-based growth struggles to survive real lifeWhy seasons of disappointment don't mean you're resistantThe difference between performance-driven change and formation that lastsWhat it means to stay with your story long enough for wisdom to take rootThis isn't a call to try harder or hope faster. It's an invitation to slow down, notice patterns, and consider what kind of change can actually be carried over time.If you've been protecting yourself from false hope (or wondering why past breakthroughs faded), this episode offers language, clarity, and a steadier way forward. Not through reinvention. Send us a textOn this special episode of the Riffs n Rhythms Podcast, we throw the usual format out the window and tackle one of the biggest music stages on the planet—the Super Bowl Halftime Show. From its humble beginnings with marching bands to iconic performances by legends like Prince and Michael Jackson, and all the controversy in between, we break down how the halftime show became a global pop-culture event. We talk about unforgettable moments, infamous mishaps, industry politics, marketing power plays, and why performing the halftime show might be the most high-pressure gig in music. We also dig into why artists don't get paid to perform, how production teams pull off a full concert in minutes, and what this year's halftime debate says about music, audiences, and culture today. It's funny, opinionated, nostalgic, and just a little unhinged—exactly what happens when musicians start talking football without actually talking football.
Most families aren't held together by big systems or perfect routines—they're carried by a handful of quiet, steady rhythms doing the heavy lifting. In this episode, we talk about how to identify the rhythms that keep a family functioning when energy drops, motivation fades, or attention is focused elsewhere. We explore decision fatigue, load-bearing habits, floors versus ceilings, and how to strengthen what's already working—without reinventing your life. If you're craving something settled, sustainable, and realistic, this conversation will help you name it. If you love what we do and want more behind-the-scenes fun, bonus episodes, and exclusive content, join the walk in love. Podcast Membership today!
Many school leaders ask for consistency. What they're really asking is:What holds when I'm tired? In this episode of the Schools of Excellence podcast, Chanie explores why leadership often breaks down on ordinary days — not in moments of crisis — and why motivation, systems, and training alone can't carry culture, standards, or accountability. This conversation introduces one of the most important leadership distinctions:Systems create structure.Standards create clarity.Only rhythms create safety. You'll hear:Why leadership that depends on energy and motivation is unsustainableWhat rhythms are — and what they are notHow predictable patterns shape behavior more than policies or explanationsWhy teams follow what happens consistently, not what's writtenHow rhythms reduce over-functioning and restore shared ownershipWhy leaders often resist rhythms — and where real relief actually livesIf things only work when you're watching, reminding, or rescuing, this episode will help you understand why and what's missing.
PRE-ORDER the upcoming book now: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/the-bookLuis and Camille banter as they dive into the concept of the Self in somatics. Along the way Luis offers 3 practices to work with finding the Self as witness. This witnessing allows us to be with a sensation or state and feel it rather than avoid it. It also helps us dis-identify from the state. From there we can experience something unpleasant and be with it rather than fix it. From this place of witnessing, Luis finds that others cannot shame or embarrass him. This realization brings responsibility, as others can no longer be blamed for his state. Practicing somatics, they discuss, connects them to spirit, which reminds them, as these things do, of Darth Vader and Yoda. Many religions require us to detach from the body to find God, whereas with somatics it's connecting to the body that allows them to connect to spirit.Camille dips in to her practice of savoring depression, a state that cyclically visits her in the dark of winter. She notes that if she identifies with it, fights or resists it, it will be prolonged. Whereas if she savors it, and practices sinking into it she can actually find pleasure in the experience. Subscribe to Alli's New Substack - Wise Woman Method It's not always the big, dramatic failures that shake your confidence. Those are obvious—you see them coming and can move on. It's the small, unnoticed habits that quietly undermine you, suggesting you're not enough before you're even aware of it. Many women think their confidence struggles are from unachieved goals—the promotion they didn't win or the self they aren't yet. But the true cause of low confidence lies elsewhere. Your confidence isn't gone; it's worn down by unnoticed, repeated patterns—small, automatic habits that appear normal yet slowly erode self-belief. In this episode, we expose the quiet habits that diminish confidence, using compassion and honesty. If you feel stuck or discouraged, this conversation will help name the real issue and offer a way to break the cycle. Once you see the pattern, you can change it. So take a moment now to notice your patterns—and decide how you want to shift them. When you do, confidence stops being something you chase and becomes something you live from. Why are teens and young adults suddenly drawn to reading, crocheting, sewing, walking, and other so-called "grandma hobbies"? In this episode of Facing the Dark, Wayne Stender and Dr. Kathy Koch explore why slower, quieter pastimes are resurfacing, and why they matter deeply for identity formation. Dr. Kathy explains how hobbies cultivate joy, perseverance, reflection, and self-awareness in a culture driven by speed, comparison, and constant stimulation. Together, they unpack the difference between fleeting happiness and lasting joy, why self-awareness is underdeveloped in today's noisy world, and how practices like crafting, reading, and walking help kids learn to be comfortable with their own thoughts. Grounded in Luke 2 and the ordinary rhythms of Jesus' early life, this conversation encourages parents to reintroduce quiet, purposeful activities, not as escape from life, but as a way for kids to inhabit it more fully.
In this honest and personal episode, Justin and Trish talk about life transitions, burnout, and the rhythms they wish they had established much earlier in their marriage, faith, and family life. From becoming grandparents to navigating grad school, empty nesting, work demands, and emotional exhaustion, they talk candidly about how unrealistic expectations, people-pleasing, and one-size-fits-all solutions can quietly erode our peace. Rather than focusing on goals, this conversation centers on healthy rhythms, understanding your season of life, and making small but meaningful changes that protect your emotional, spiritual, and relational health. If you feel tired, stretched thin, or unsure how to create sustainable rhythms in this season, this episode will help you pause, reflect, and take a healthier next step. #305 Most business owners don't struggle with money because they're bad with numbers. They struggle because their finances don't have a rhythm. In this episode, Billy breaks down the 5 Financial Rhythms that every profitable, low-stress business needs. Miss one, and money starts to feel reactive. Build all five, and clarity follows. The 5 Financial Rhythms 1. Revenue Revenue is more than just total sales. It's understanding where money actually comes from and how reliable it is month to month. 2. Budgeting A budget isn't a restriction. It's a plan. Billy explains why budgeting creates freedom and why most owners overcomplicate this step. 3. Forecasting Forecasting is how you stop being surprised. Billy shares how this rhythm helped a client shift from reacting to problems to anticipating them. 4. Tracking You don't need to track everything. You need to track the right things. This rhythm brings awareness without overwhelm. 5. Automation Automation removes emotion and willpower from money decisions. When systems are automatic, consistency becomes effortless. Why These Rhythms Matter Financial stress is rarely about income. It's about uncertainty. These five rhythms work together to create clarity, calm, and confidence so money stops dominating your mental energy. Want Help Building These Rhythms? Send us a textMy confession and an invitation to release…As a faithful woman, you aren't burned out because you lack discipline; you're exhausted because you've been carrying a responsibility God never asked you to bear.In this episode, Amy explores the difference between responding to God and taking responsibility for outcomes and how easily faith can slip from love into pressure, control, and performance. This conversation isn't about becoming irresponsible or lowering the bar. It's about releasing the heavy yoke and rediscovering a faith formed by belovedness rather than fear. You'll explore:Why responsibility often becomes a hidden spiritual burden. How Scripture reframes obedience as response, not self-management.What Jesus meant when He said His yoke is easy and His burden is light. How fear, control, and the need for significance quietly shape our faith. Why discipline isn't rejected, but reordered around love.If faith has started to feel heavy, demanding, or joyless, this episode offers language, permission, and a better way forward. Not through striving, but through response.Support the showRESOURCES FOR YOU: Book a High-Value Clarity Call with Amy Wicks https://www.simplywholehearted.com/callamywicks Not sure about your Enneagram Type? In this solo episode of The Moos Room, Brad shares “hot off the press” research on circadian rhythms in dairy cows and what long-term sensor data can tell us about cow welfare. Drawing from a study presented at the International Precision Dairy Farming Conference in New Zealand, the episode explores how daily and seasonal behavior patterns—such as eating, rumination, activity, and rest—are shaped by environment, management, and breed.Using more than 10 years of CowManager sensor data from the University of Minnesota research herd, Brad walks through how different breeds (Holsteins, crossbreds, graze-cross cows, and 1964 Holstein genetics) show distinct seasonal rhythms. Results revealed clear breed differences in eating time, rumination, overall activity, and inactivity, with graze-cross cows showing the strongest seasonal patterns and more stable alignment with environmental cues—suggesting better adaptability to pasture-based systems. The episode highlights how disruptions to circadian rhythms—caused by inconsistent lighting, feeding schedules, or confinement—may be linked to stress, immune suppression, lameness, mastitis, and reduced fertility. Brad discusses how precision dairy technologies offer a powerful, non-invasive way to monitor these rhythms and potentially detect welfare issues before clinical signs appear. The episode wraps up by looking ahead to future research linking behavior patterns directly to health and productivity outcomes, and how better alignment of management practices with natural cow rhythms could improve welfare and resilience on dairy farms.Questions, comments, scathing rebuttals? -> themoosroom@umn.edu or call 612-624-3610 and leave us a message!Linkedin -> The Moos RoomTwitter -> @UMNmoosroom and @UMNFarmSafetyFacebook -> @UMNDairyYouTube -> UMN Beef and Dairy and UMN Farm Safety and HealthInstagram -> @UMNWCROCDairyExtension WebsiteAgriAmerica Podcast Directory

Send us a textIf faith has started to feel heavier than life-giving, you're not alone AND you're not doing it wrong. In this foundational episode, Amy defines what Wholehearted living really means and, just as importantly, what it does not mean. This conversation is for the faithful, disciplined woman who has kept showing up… but is quietly tired of spiritual intensity that burns her out instead of forming her.Wholehearted living isn't hype, it doesn't strive out of fear, and it doesn't happen from trying harder. It's a formation process that begins with belovedness, not responsibility, and unfolds slowly through perseverance, wisdom, and grace. In this episode, you'll explore:Why some “old” approaches to spiritual growth stop working over time. How Scripture names divided, weary, and broken hearts, without shame. What it means to love God with your whole heart, mind, and strength without fragmentation. Why do rhythms spiritually form you more deeply than striving or big emotional moments? How discipline can be reordered around love instead of fear or pressure. This episode lays the foundation for the podcast's themes: Enneagram, rhythms, storywork, and a slower, more intentional journey of spiritual formation throughout the year.If you've been longing for growth that doesn't exhaust you, faith that doesn't demand certainty, and transformation that honors your story, then this conversation is for you.Support the showRESOURCES FOR YOU: Book a High-Value Clarity Call with Amy Wicks https://www.simplywholehearted.com/callamywicks Not sure about your Enneagram Type?
