What do an old train tunnel and thousands of bats have in common? A tiny Texas State Park. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/texas-slang-for-crazy/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/texas-slang-for-crazy/support
In August 2020, Jarrett and Linda talk about their trip to Old Tunnel State Park, located in Fredericksburg, Texas. They got to see some cool Mexican free-tailed bats come out of the tunnel and fly out into the Texas skyline. Old Tunnel is an old railroad tunnel built from private funding so that locals could make quick trips from Comfort, TX to Fredricksburg, TX. The rail line went out of business in 1942 and the land was purchased by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in 1991. Finally, this park is the smallest state park at 15-acres and .5 miles of hiking trails. Looking for more opportunities to escape the quarantine? They ran, oh how they ran through Greenest who was in a full on battle at the time. Bandits, Kobolds and even Cultists were pillaging and raiding the entirety of the town. Bernhard, Toot and Nigel managed to rescue some villagers that were all aiming for the keep. They managed to get there just as the gates closed behind them. Are they really safe though?Join our DM Agnes with the players of Fredrik, Louise and Jim in the iconic story of the Forgotten Realms!Follow us on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and other media by searching for DunDice! THE ADVICE AT DR. MORO’S (SCI-FI / DARK COMEDY) LANGUAGE Our Fair City is a post-apocalyptic science fiction / dark comedy audio drama set in the not so distant future where the skies are stormy, and the landscape is a vast frozen tundra. Lightning rigs high above the city gather energy from thunderstorms, mad scientists walk the earth, and adorably monstrous Molepeople dig tunnels deep underground to expand the city’s habitable space. The warrens of Old Tunnel are vast, labyrinthine, and dangerous. One must take the utmost caution when traversing their mold-ridden expanses–unless, of course, you are the MolePerson designated Loamy. Then, barbeque sauce and a nursery song will have to do. Our Fair City would like to dedicate this episode to the families, caretakers, and researchers who are working with patients of Alzheimer’s’ disease. Learn more at alz.org or alzheimers.org.uk.
