Listen here: organize365.com/wednesday-podcasts Welcome to week two of our updates with Monique Horb. This week we talk all about the Paper Organizing Retreats. We talk about where they come from and why people find them so helpful in finally getting their paper organized and ditching their filing cabinets. One of the real gifts of a Paper Organizing Retreat is a chance to focus on your papers without interruption in a dedicated space - it allows you to really make progress! They are also way more affordable than hiring an in home professional organizer. We also talk about how we converted these in person Paper Organizing Retreats to virtual in the COVID pandemic hosted by our All Paper Certified Organizers. Some are even offering deep dives into specific binders. Remember, if you preorder 5 copies of The Paper Solution and submit your receipts by July 17th, you can join our virtual POR as a preorder bonus. You can place your preorder at organize365.com/book We also share how the Sunday Basket® Certified Workshop Organizer program can add to your business. My second big announcement from the Organize 365 National Convention is the exciting news that we are going to have Paper Organizing Retreats! That’s right, you can literally pack up all of your paper into boxes, travel to Cincinnati, and organize your paper during a productive weekend retreat with key members of the Organize 365 Team – how awesome is that? I’m so excited! I’ve wanted to start these Paper Organizing Retreats for years. When I began Organize 365 in 2012, I knew I needed to launch a unique organizing retreat where people could bring their paper and organize all of it (while listening to some great music and snacking on delicious food as we go) – it was the PERFECT plan. But it took six years to turn that vision into a reality, and in many ways, I’m glad it took so long because now I’m 100% sure that I’ve come up with the best products, best structure, and the best team possible. After six years of long hours and lots of hard work, we have finally done it! Organizing Paper Is Hard Organizing paper isn’t the most exciting thing in the world, especially if you aren’t a passionate organizer. At home, it’s easy to get distracted and procrastinate, which is why it’s such a good idea to join one of my Paper Organizing Retreats where you can focus and actually get work done. But one of the main reasons to attend a retreat like this is so you can have the opportunity to ask questions to professional organizers. You’ll know exactly what you’re doing, and you’ll be able to avoid shredding a file that you really shouldn’t have because, unfortunately, there are no time machines when it comes to organizing paperwork! The REAL Reason For My Paper Organizing Retreats Yes, I like to help people organize their paper, and I love the community of organizers we have here at Organize 365 and the Sunday Basket®. BUT there is a deeper, more personal reason why I decided to launch these retreats. When my kids were young, they got a lot of different diagnoses including things like autism, ADHD, bipolar, food sensitives, and so on. And you know what? It was so overwhelming! I soon transformed into a protective mama bear. I was determined to know as much as possible about their conditions and I’m sure a lot of mothers who find themselves in similar situations do the same thing. Who can blame us? Whenever we receive unexpected news like a medical diagnosis or a sudden death in the family, it’s like your entire world comes crashing down. One minute, you’re sailing through life, the birds are singing, and your only concern is what you’re going to cook for dinner. And then BANG, you hear some terrible news. Then you’re devastated and left with all this paperwork you didn’t even know existed. I know that feeling all too well, which is why I wanted to create the Paper Organizing Retreats to help reduce stress at a time in your life when you feel like everything is just falling apart. Getting Organized On The Retreat On a more light-hearted note, when you attend the retreat, you’re guaranteed to leave a lot more organized than you were when you arrived! If you’ve got your hands on one of the new Friday Workboxes that have just been released for your home-based business, you can take it with you to the retreat and get stuff into it. The Friday Workboxes can really help you to get an effective system in place so you have more structure and direction to take your business that extra step further. The retreat begins at 9 am on Saturday morning. When you arrive, you’ll have your own organizing table which includes a shredding bag and a recycling bag. You’ll spend a lot of time during the first half of Saturday going through your paper and organizing them into three piles: shredding, deleting, and the keep pile. Everything you want to shred can go into the shredding bag, the paper you want to recycle can go into the recycling bag, and the rest of the paper is what you’ll need to focus most of your time and energy into organizing. You can then begin to organize your paper into the Organize 365 binders, slash pockets, or the Sunday Basket®. You can either bring your own items with you, buy them from the Organize 365 Store, or pre-order your products in advance and have them available at your seat when you arrive at the retreat. The Paper Organizing Retreat Team I’m excited to introduce you to three of the key members of this retreat team! First up, we have Janet Davis. You may have heard me mention her in previous podcasts because she’s just amazing and she’s going to be helping me run the Paper Organizing Retreats. She is our lead Paper Organizing Retreat Planner, and we’ve known each other for over 17 years. The second team member I want to mention is my sister, Emily Kelly. Emily is the Marketing Director of Organize 365, so she’ll be at the retreats helping you to organize your paperwork into the binders. Last, but not least, we have the Organize 365 Sunday Basket Club Queen, Monique Horb. Monique is a huge fan of the binders, and she’s also a Sunday Basket® Certified Organizer. She knows absolutely EVERYTHING about the binders and will be more than happy to help you organize your paper during the retreat. Each member of the team is HIPPA certified, so you don’t need to worry about that side of things when you’re organizing private papers and documents at the retreat. I’m so excited about the Paper Organizing Retreats! It’s going to be a fantastic opportunity to meet more of you AND it gives you the chance to really dive into your paper organizing like never before! The past year in the life of the Sunday Basket  has been a whirlwind! I wanted to pause and clarify the differences between the Sunday Basket Workshops, the Sunday Basket Club and the Paper Organizing Retreats. Why do we need a Sunday Basket anyway?! What do you do with your mail when it comes in your door? What about the ideas that flood your head while you’re driving your kids to school? How about prescriptions, coupons, “to do lists”? I promise you are spending more time managing these things than you think. The Sunday Basket System is the answer to eliminating that to do list and freeing your mind from constantly trying to keep up with the hamster wheel of ideas that flood it daily. If you haven’t started your Sunday Basket yet, you can purchase the Complete Sunday Basket System here. The purchase of the Complete Sunday Basket comes with a virtual “on demand” training you can access on Organize 365 in your dashboard. I just updated those training videos last week. Additionally you can listen to the Sunday Basket podcast here to learn more about the Sunday Basket and follow along as you set yours up. Where did the IN PERSON workshops come from? The Sunday Basket Workshop was designed after my passion for Creative Memories workshops, where women would come from all over Cincinnati (and in my backyard) to laugh, drink wine or lattes, listen to 80s music and put photos into albums on the last Friday of the month in my home. It is my vision that we will have Certified Sunday Basket Workshop Organizers in every major city in America teaching and helping women organize their paper and be freed from the guilt and burden that piles of unorganized paper brings. If you are looking for a Sunday Basket Workshop Organizer in your city or town to help you get organized, please check out our Certified Organizer Directory! How about the Sunday Basket Club? Because the Sunday Basket became so popular, and because I love community so much, when the demand came to have a “Sunday Basket Club” on Sundays where I would go through your Sunday Basket with you, I wanted to say yes, but I was overwhelmed with the prospect of having to teach that EVERY SUNDAY. However, two of our all star Sunday Basket Workshop Organizers volunteered to run it … so I said yes!   The Sunday Basket Club has a 90 minute Facebook Live time where you can go through your Sunday Basket with Monique Horb and Ryan Lanier EVERY SINGLE SUNDAY. The Sunday Basket Club is a virtual weekly workshop kind of like “co working” as you go through your Sunday Basket. But it is more than just your Sunday Basket papers. Everyone in the Club also has the basic 4 binders I use to ditch their filing cabinet. To gain access to the Sunday Basket Club, you can sign up for the Complete Paper Program or All Access. You can learn more about and/or purchase the Complete Paper Program here. You can learn more about and/or purchase All Access here. Last but not least, Paper Organizing Retreats. Lastly, let’s come full circle. The Sunday Basket Workshops started because of the good ol’ Creative Memories days. And even though you can learn about the Sunday Basket System and Workshops from our Certified Organizers, or participate virtually by buying it on demand from Organize 365, and you can go through your Sunday Basket weekly in the Sunday Basket Club; like I said, I like community. And I LOVED hosting Creative Memories workshops and my famous “Winter Wonderland Retreat”. So naturally, Paper Organizing Retreats were born and I am LOVING hosting them and so excited about all the progress I have seen women make in this weekend away to really focus on and tackle those paper organizing projects. So join me, my team and our Certified Organizers at an upcoming Paper Organizing Retreat in April! You can learn more and/or register here! We would LOVE to help you get your paper organized and most importantly, give you a BIG HUG! PS Have you thought about becoming a Sunday Basket Workshop Organizer? The program is OPEN! But only until February 10th! Hop on over to Sundaybasketcertification.com to learn more and/or sign up! We would love to have you on the team. :) If you tried any of my suggestions, I’d love to see them! In this episode, Lisa is talking about why, when taking control over your home and paper, the organization stage feels like the hardest. In her simple, logical way, Lisa breaks down the common reasons why organization feels difficult and what we can do to overcome that hurdle. The Organize 365 National Convention was the experience of a lifetime, and I was so happy to meet all of you in person and reveal two of the biggest secrets that I’ve kept for what felt like forever! I’d like to thank everyone that attended. It meant the world to me to have you all there and it was fantastic to meet you all! If you attended the Organize 365 Convention, you already know what I’m going to talk about. But if you couldn’t make it, I’m sure you’re sitting on the edge of your seat in anticipation. The Organize 365 National Convention was a complete success and everything went according to plan. I was so excited to announce the surprises – and now it’s time to reveal them to the rest of the world! The First BIG Surprise… So, the first big announcement is the launch of the Friday Workboxes! The Friday Workbox has been a LONG time coming. I came up with the concept three years ago, but it’s taken all this time to create them because I wanted them to be perfect. The Friday Workbox is a $150.00 system that includes everything you need to start planning your work week and get your career on track. How To Use The Friday Workbox As an entrepreneur, I know all too well that the limit of your success (especially for us ladies) is how organized your home is. I’ll be the first to admit that I was shaking in my boots when I decided to focus on organizing the house and left my business coaching days behind me – to be honest, I was terrified! BUT the Friday Workbox got me through it. It’s designed for home-related businesses, with a particular focus on the following four areas: Direct Sales Home Schooling Entrepreneurs Teachers (the Friday Workbox launches on July 1st) With the Friday Workbox, you can focus on your home-based business to get the most out of your time and lead a more organized, fulfilling life AND career. How Does It Differ From The Sunday Basket®? Many of you are probably wondering how the Friday Workbox system differs from the SundayBasket® system. With the Sunday Basket®, you run your house, and all of the households related tasks, reminders, and responsibilities go in there. However, the Friday Workbox is created for our “passion project.” It’s for the thing in your life that brings extra income into the family, or the one thing that you want to focus your time on when you’re not doing all the other home stuff. What’s Included In Your Friday Workbox? When you receive your Friday Workbox, you can expect to find the following items inside: A Sunday Basket® (in the color of your choosing) 1 set of the 2.0 slash pockets (20 slash pockets in total) 2 sets of the 1.0 slash pockets A printed workbook to talk you through how to assemble the workbox A recording of the video class that explains how to use your specific workbox So, that’s everything that is included in the Friday Workbox system. It’s sold as a complete system, so you can’t buy each item individually. Each workbox also includes a guide that suggests how you may wish to label your slash pockets. The slash pockets have a sales cycle applied to them. The pink slash pockets are for your leads, the purple are for customers, the green are for finances, and the blue slash pockets are for marketing and personal development. Order Your Workbox TODAY to be included in the LIVE Zoom Workshop calls on June 18th! On June 18th, I will be teaching LIVE workshops all day. Starting at 9am Eastern Time, everyone who has already purchased ANY workbox will be online for a 2 hour Workbox 1.0 Workshop. Then each workbox will have an additional 90 minute workshop with me to deep dive into your 2.0 folders. The Entrepreneur Workshop will be from 11:30am-1pm. The Homeschool Workshop will be from 1:30-3pm. The Direct Sales Workshop will be from 3:30- 5pm. Use the time in between your 1.0 ad 2.0 workshops to keep working and gathering your questions! If you can't be on live, I understand. Everyone wil be sent recordings of the workshops later that week. You can order your workboxes in my shop. AND... You will have TEN colors of Sunday Baskets® to chose from to match your Friday Workbox to your business colors! Oh, these Sunday Basket® colors are even better in person than I imagined! Hot Pink, Purple, Teal, Sage, White, and Orange will be added to the classic original SundayBasket® colors of red, navy, grey, and black. All the Sunday Basket® are available for individual purchase and in the Workboxes in my shop. Oh, AND the NEW colors have an Organize 365 exclusive basket weave pattern. You can check out photos in the Organize 365 Facebook Group. The baskets literally arrived at the manufacturer the DAY BEFORE the convention. Talk about cutting it close! Professional photos will be taken and by up on the site by the end of the month. :) The Second BIG Surprise! My second BIG announcement at the Organize 365 National Convention was the exciting news that we’re now going to have Paper Organizing Retreats! I envisioned this back when I started Organize 365 in 2012. It took us a few years to get here, but we’ve finally done it! My Inspiration For The Paper Organizing Retreats I was inspired to launch the Paper Organizing Retreats because I wanted to help people who suddenly found themselves in a position that they never thought they would be in. I’m thinking about all of you (or someone close to you) who have received an unexpected medical diagnosis, or there’s been a recent death in the family, and now your entire life is chaotic and spinning out of control. In cases like this, there’s usually a lot of paperwork, especially if you’re the executor of a will. Instead of feeling confused, stressed, and overworked, you can pack up all of the paper, travel to a Paper Organizing Retreat in Cincinnati, and we can start sorting through all of your paper together. Why Attend A Paper Organizing Retreat? It’s challenging to organize paper by yourself at home, especially if you aren’t sure what paper you can keep and what needs to be shredded. But when you have a professional workshop organizer with you, you can ask them as many questions as you like and actually organize your paper the RIGHT way. The Paper Organizing Retreats are designed to help you organize your papers and come up with a capable system that works for YOU. What To Expect At A Paper Organizing Retreat When you arrive on a Saturday morning at around 9am, we will have a table ready for you. You’ll have your own shredding and recycling bag so you can get started right away! During the first half of the first day of the retreat, you’ll be in the process of creating several GIGANTIC shredding piles. Once you know what can be shredded, you can get down to what actually needs to be organized. You can bring your own Organize 365 products with you, pre-order them online so they’re waiting on your desk upon arrival, OR you can buy what you need at the Organize 365 Store on site. Introducing The Paper Organizing Retreat Team We have a real power team for the Paper Organizing Retreats, including my good friend, Janet Davis, my sister, Emily Kelly, and Organize 365 SUPER fan and professional organizer, Ellen Wall. Each of these inspiring ladies has helped make Paper Organizing Retreats possible. Janet is our Lead Paper Organizing Retreat Planner, Emily, the Organize 365 Marketing Director, and Ellen is the binder expert – so I can guarantee that you’ll be in good hands! Join A Paper Organizing Retreat! I’m super excited about the Paper Organizing Retreats. If you want to find out more about how you can attend a retreat, you can click here. The Organize 365 National Convention was amazing, memorable and definately NOT perfect. Boy was it NOT perfect. Many of the convention details were 100% out of my control and really, honestly - terrible. But, there was nothing I could do about that. This convention made me publicly walk out the "done is better than perfect" and "progress over perfection" mantras ever minute of every day. You know what we will remember? The hugs. The laughs. The stories. And the transformational experience we each took away from the event. The imperfections made the experience relatable and memorable. I am so honored to be on this organizational journey WITH you. Thank you for your encouragement, prayers, support, and community. I can't wait to see what happens next year!
