Bryan Matthews, Caleb Jones and Jay G. Tate reconvene to discuss the most pressing news, which today centers around the Tigers' hire of Alex Golesh as football head coach. Also: Offense first? Not really. What does he mean by following a process? Most of the guys already hired are on offense. What's going to happen with Durkin? What's the holdup? What's going to happen at quarterback? So many options! Losing Roc Bellantoni is a surprise. Losing Kenyatta Watson hurts. Some coaches are still here. Golesh's contract is quite incentivized. Basketball was up and down in Vegas. NC State is coming to town Wednesday night. Another big game. The show is presented by VooDoo Wing Company with locations in Auburn, Mobile, Tuscaloosa, Florence, suburban Charlotte, Chapel Hill and Las Vegas. Father Dave Pivonka, TOR, is the president of Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio and is our guest on this episode. Fr. Dave grew up in a devoted Catholic family and he and his siblings were very involved in various types of sports. Fr. Dave liked the competitive nature of sports, but most appreciated the relationships that are prevalent in team sports. Looking back, he realizes how the lessons he learned in his early years in sports helped shape him for his current role. As the president of a university, Fr. Dave is a very busy man who has many responsibilities. With a full day in front of him, he finds that spending 30 to 45 minutes on a treadmill each morning before going to the office is very beneficial to his day. Fr. Dave also recently attended a Notre Dame game and is a Denver Broncos fan. He can't imagine his life without sports. Fr. Dave explains the three types of Franciscan Orders and the Third Order Regular (TOR). Although he felt called to the priesthood at a young age, Fr. Dave knew that he was not called to be a diocesan priest. He needed to be in a community, a brotherhood that supports each other. He lives with nineteen Friars and enjoys the camaraderie and the sports rivalries inherent in a group of men. Fr. Dave also explains what he likes about St. Francis who lived in the 12th to 13th century in Italy and felt called by God to “Rebuild My Church”. Fr. Dave explains some of the many assignments he had in the Order prior to his assignment as President of Franciscan University in 2019. In his current role, he talks about celebrating early morning daily Mass in a packed chapel that holds 590 people at a time when roughly 70% of “kids” stop going to church. Franciscan University also sponsors about 25 summer youth conferences across the country with approximately 60,000 young people attending. Fr. Dave discusses his collaboration with Wild Goose TV in producing a video series called My Father's Father in which he talks about experiences and discussions he had with his father that taught Fr. Dave more about Our Heavenly Father. He also collaborated with Wild Goose TV to produce a series called “Metanoia”, a Greek word that means a transformation of the heart, a spiritual conversion, which comes about through repentance. The Metanoia series was filmed in the Holy Land. Fr. Dave also talks about two video series he is involved in called “In Focus” and “In Person”. Of all the many things that encompass Fr. Dave's life, he just wants to do what God wants him to do. He hopes everything he's doing comes from his personal relationship with Jesus. Fr. Dave cannot imagine doing anything else. He hopes that his 2000 students know that “Fr. Dave is proud of me!”, like Fr. Dave's father was proud of him. Fr. Dave talks about prayer and says it's “pretty simple” and tells listeners how to have a good prayer time. Like the old Nike adage, Fr. Dave encourages listeners to “Just Do It!” In the life of a Franciscan, the word “kenosis” is important. Kenosis means “emptying” of oneself and is best described in Philippians 2:6-8. While prayer may be simple, kenosis takes practice (like hitting a baseball). Fr Dave talks about how he experiences kenosis. Fr. Dave ends by emphatically stating that young people are good, and they are not the future of the Church as he has heard some people say, young people are part of the Church today! He invites listeners to visit Franciscan University and go to Mass at 6:30 in the morning! He likes that young people are “messy” sometimes and are still trying to figure things out. With his belief in and enthusiasm for young people, it's not a stretch to say that God has Fr. Dave in just the right place! The Language of Play - Kids that Listen, Speech Therapy, Language Development, Early Intervention
Hey Friends~ What if mouth breathing isn't just a habit… but a symptom? In today's episode, I'm joined by a guest who revealed something I hadn't fully understood in all my years in this field: crooked teeth, small jaws, restless behavior, trouble with focus, even lingering speech sound errors can ALL be connected to how well a child is BREATHING. You'll hear how an under-developed airway affects far more than speech and behavior. When a child is mouth breathing, they don't get the deep, restorative sleep their growing brain desperately needs. And deep sleep and proper oxygenation, everything from attention to learning can suffer. And make sure you listen through to the end, as we have something special for you!! Podcast listeners get access to a free online airway evaluation - a simple way to find out whether breathing might be part of your child's (or your own) challenges. Also, if you are from MN, WI, or IA, you have an exclusive discount for in-person clinic visits. So, if mouth breathing, snoring, focus struggles, or stubborn speech sound issues feel familiar… this might be the insight you've been missing. If you or your child snores, mouth breathes, struggles with focus, wrestles with behavior, or has speech sound challenges, this might be the missing piece you've been searching for. There is help for adults, so the listener discounts and freebies work for YOU, too! This episode might change everything for you and your child!! Always cheering you on! Bryan Matthews, Caleb Jones and Jay G. Tate reconvene to discuss the most pressing news, which today centers around the Tigers' lopsided win against Mercer last weekend. Also: Deuce Knight is a dadgum RUNNER! Is there a quarterback conundrum? No, there isn't. Isn't it nice to see what happens when Derrick Nix is allowed do his job? The defense created three turnovers including a pick six. Alex McPherson regained his full kicking distance. Does this help Durkin's case for getting the full-time job? We still believe Jon Sumrall is in prime position to land the job. Why has it been so quiet lately? What are the keys to beating Ala? Simon Walker had a nice start to his college career. Auburn's defense continues to improve. There are big tests this week — Oregon and Michigan await. Shoutouts. Bryan Matthews, Caleb Jones and Jay G. Tate reconvene to discuss the most pressing news, which today centers around the football team's overtime loss at Vanderbilt. Also: Auburn's offense sure was good the other day. Was Hugh Freeze really that big of a drain on the offensive operation? Ashton Daniels put together one of the greatest single games from an Auburn quarterback. It's like magic getting the ball to Auburn's best players, huh? Preston Howard needs to step it up. Xavier Chaplin needs to step it up. What happened to the defense? Did Durkin's head-coach work affect the defense? Does this performance enhance Durkin's candidacy? Some Sadducees have a question for Jesus about the resurrection. However, their ulterior motive is to trap Jesus with his answer. This special installment of the Nomadic Diaries podcast dives deep into the subject of belonging as it relates to nomads, expatriates, third culture kids (TCKs), and cross-cultural kids (CCKs).Host Doreen Cumberford and co-host Megan Norton-Newbanks are joined by Author and Coach, Carolyn Grant to discuss the emotional geography of transitions, the process of resettling, and the personal and community-wide strategies for fostering a true sense of belonging.Key Topics Discussed:Transitions vs. Change:Carolyn provides a powerful framework distinguishing external changes (like moving countries) from internal transitions (the psychological adaptation). She likens transition to a bridge with several emotional "markers"—from feeling settled, through phases of chaos and exhaustion, to finally feeling a sense of belonging in a new place.Personal Stories & Analogies:Carolyn shares her own experience as an "accidental immigrant," highlighting the hidden losses only noticed years later. She uses evocative metaphors like "the ear of the hippo" to express the way deep emotions and losses are often beneath the surface.Normalizing Transition:Through discovering the work of William Bridges and David Pollock, Carolyn and Megan emphasize how helpful it is to realize these feelings are normal -not a sign of personal failure or lack, but a universal part of the expat and nomadic experience.In-Person vs. Online Belonging:The group discusses the richness of face-to-face empathy and connection versus the limitations (but still the value) of online communities, particularly during the COVID pandemic.Inclusive Framework for TCKs/CCKs & Hidden Immigrants:The podcast explores identity beyond nationality and ethnicity, including stories from adoption and cross-cultural upbringing—how difference is not always visible or acknowledged.Tools and Strategies for Rebuilding Belonging:Grieve the Losses: Name and process what you're leaving behind.Initiate Connections: Seek out groups, mentors, faith communities, and activities.Embrace Fitting In vs. Belonging: Understand that true belonging takes time and is deeper than superficial assimilation.Faith & Personal Resilience: Both faith and resilience are described as anchors during times of transition and disruption.Find Carolyn at:https://facebook.com/carolyngrantwww.navigatetransition.comhttps://instagram.com/navigatetransitionSupport the showHome is Where Your Story Crosses Borders! We aim to inspire expat solutions, by helping you navigate global living with ease and grace.

“Saint” in Scripture is not used to single out extraordinary individuals or exclusively for the faithful departed. Saint describes each and every follower of Jesus Christ. And so “sainthood” is not something we achieve or something we only await. Sainthood is our present reality and our future hope. Kate breaks down the three types of "parts" we all have – managers (our organized protectors), firefighters (our emergency responders), and exiles (the vulnerable parts holding our pain) – and explains how chronic illness can send these internal systems into overdrive. Through personal stories about Lyme disease, diabetes management, and the challenge of de-identifying from illness, they discuss how understanding our protective parts can lead to more self-compassion during the medical journey. The conversation illuminates why over-identification with illness can be protective during acute treatment phases, and how creativity becomes essential for problem-solving when traditional approaches fail. Kate emphasizes the importance of "unblending" from our parts to access our core Self, characterized by qualities like curiosity, compassion, and creativity – offering a new framework for navigating the complex emotional landscape of chronic illness with greater understanding and grace.MEET DESTINY: Website / Instagram / BlueSky / YouTube / TikTokMEET GUEST: Website / licensed in GA and ILSIGN UP FOR DESTINY'S NEXT LIVE WORKSHOP→ Financial Wellness for Chronic Medical Conditions→ READ THE BLOG FOR THIS EPISODEASK DESTINY ANYTHING→ Submit your questions hereFOR YOU, OUR PODCAST LISTENERSJOIN DESTINY'S MEMBERSHIP - for folks with chronic pain & illness→ Join Welcome To The Waiting Room (ongoing support for staying regulated while living with chronic illness - This does not replace therapy, but it's a great addition to your regular therapy appointments)FOR MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS

Also: • Auburn lost again. • How does Hugh Freeze still have a job? • Does this mean John Cohen isn't a big fan of DJ Durkin? • Maybe it's because Cohen has something else in mind? • Hugh says he'd LOVE to have some public support from Cohen
In this episode, I'm announcing something big — the final round of the Corporate Cohort for 2025 is officially open! If you've been curious about what it's like to be in the room with other high-achieving women who are ready to lead with more clarity, alignment, and energy… you're going to love this behind-the-scenes conversation. I'm joined by two powerful women from a recent cohort — Megan and Andrea, both working moms navigating demanding corporate careers. We get into the real, honest shifts they made: Megan shares how she went from stuck and on autopilot to feeling energized and in control, and the specific boundaries that helped her become more present with her family. Andrea talks about how she stopped letting her work calendar control her life and started protecting time for what matters most at home. We also chat about phone habits, morning routines, proactive planning, and how having community and coaching was the catalyst for real change — not just in their careers, but in their confidence, mindset, and motherhood. "In your 20s, take risks. You have time to change your plan or celebrate." Today on the show I sit down IN PERSON with former employee of my Evan Callaghan and catch up on life's wild pivots—all the way from the trenches of fraud analysis to the world of data engineering. Evan shares the hilarious and often chaotic story of moving to L.A. on an impulse, only to find himself in a completely new industry after his rock star dreams hit a snag. They discuss the value of taking big risks in your 20s, whether it's moving across the country for an elusive music career or enduring soul-crushing early morning gigs to learn a craft. From the discipline learned as a serious ski racer to the hustle of selling solar panels door-to-door, every adventure—and misstep—has contributed to his current path. Evan's journey highlights a powerful transition from creative pursuit to a focused tech career. After realizing his passion for music production had a technical, analytical core, he switched gears, diving into a demanding coding bootcamp. He shares funny anecdotes about his failed music promotion event and the shocking revelation that nobody cares if your data is "PhD-level" if it's dirty! Listen in to hear how two friends—and former colleagues—found success by continually seeking growth, even if it meant getting "slapped by the universe" a few times along the way. Kelly shares her personal journey with chronic pain and explains why pain is actually valuable biological data that deserves our attention, not dismissal. We explore the crucial difference between "good pain" and "bad pain" in therapeutic exercise, why the relational aspect of healing matters so much for chronic pain recovery, and how learning to listen to smaller pain signals can prevent your nervous system from turning up the volume. Kelly also walks us through a fascinating case study on headaches, demonstrating how understanding anatomy and building trust with your body are both essential for healing. If you've been told your chronic pain is "all in your head" or you're struggling with the "push through it" mentality, this conversation offers a refreshing and hopeful perspective on working with your pain rather than against it.→ READ THE BLOG FOR THIS EPISODEMEET DESTINY: Website / Instagram / BlueSky / YouTube / TikTokMEET GUEST: Website / Instagram→ READ THE BLOG FOR THIS EPISODEASK DESTINY ANYTHING→ Submit your questions hereFOR YOU, OUR PODCAST LISTENERSJOIN DESTINY'S MEMBERSHIP - for folks with chronic pain & illness→ Join Welcome To The Waiting Room (ongoing support for staying regulated while living with chronic illness - This does not replace therapy, but it's a great addition to your regular therapy appointments)FOR MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS

Bryan Matthews, Caleb Jones and Jay G. Tate reconvene to discuss the most pressing news, which today centers around Damari Alston's departure from the football program. Also: • Why did Alston ask to redshirt? • Is Freeze right to be upset about that request? • Is Alston's course of action tantamount to quitting? • Maybe Freeze was right to be upset but wrong to be off-putting in the press conference Monday? • Why is Alston so popular among teammates? • Can Auburn make things work without Alston? • Why is it OK for Ashton Daniels to redshirt but not Alston? • Speaking of Daniels, is he a viable option to replace Jackson Arnold? • Can Freeze win his way out of this thorny situation? • Shoutouts.
