The long holiday weekend calls for time to veg out. If you had too many helpings of mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving, well it's time to be a couch potato and tune into some of Good Food's favorite movie segments from past years. Sanjay Rawal directed the film “Gather” and discusses the growing movement of Native Americans working to reconnect with their spiritual and cultural identity. Michael Sarnoski and Vanessa Block are the duo behind “Pig,” starring Nicolas Cage, and they share what it takes to bring authenticity to restaurant and food culture in a script. Director Morgan Neville pays tribute to Anthony Bourdain in his film “Roadrunner,” with moments of joyful remembrances and revelations that things aren't always as they appear. Pixar's “Bao” is an eight-minute film directed by Domee Shi that follows a Chinese Canadian mother who becomes lonely after her son leaves home, and she gets a second chance at motherhood when a steamed bun comes to life in her kitchen. Quentin Tarantino joins Elvis Mitchell in conversation about using food as a metaphor for power in his work. Nathan Park reveals the hidden backstory of economic insecurity and fried chicken in the Academy Award-winning film “Parasite.”

Notas. Inglés y Español ⬇️November 25: Forming the faith of the new generation.Psalms 78:1-17:Give ear, O my people, to my law; incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old, which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength and His wonderful works that He has done. For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children; that the generation to come might know them, the children who would be born, that they may arise and declare them to their children, that they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments; and may not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that did not set its heart aright, and whose spirit was not faithful to God. The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle. They did not keep the covenant of God; they refused to walk in His law, and forgot His works and His wonders that He had shown them. Marvelous things He did in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan. He divided the sea and caused them to pass through; and He made the waters stand up like a heap. In the daytime also He led them with the cloud, and all the night with a light of fire. He split the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink in abundance like the depths. He also brought streams out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers. But they sinned even more against Him by rebelling against the Most High in the wilderness. This psalm is a retelling of the history of Israel from the time they left Egypt until the reign of David. It is a very interesting summary and I encourage you to read the chapter completely. It is a psalm written as a reflection and warning for adults, parents or those who are in charge of children and young people. One of the best teachers for human beings is history. Learning from the past and not repeating the same mistakes is a practical way to be able to illustrate with examples to the new generation as established by God in the law. Not only so that they would learn to be true followers and worshipers of the Lord, following God with all their heart, but also so that they would not forget the Lord and commit the same sins as their ancestors. This is a great lesson for everyone. We like to tell our children about our achievements, goals achieved, feats of grandparents, renowned positions achieved by a member of the family, etc. but we avoid telling the mistakes that we also made in the past or any member of the family. Perhaps out of embarrassment or for not continuing to remember the pain caused by that loved one who made a mistake. Although it is painful, we must think about what things or how we must also tell those mistakes. Let's tell the good, the bad and the ugly. That our children learn from our bad decisions or consequences that we have committed in our lives so that they don't repeat history. Let them know that we are human beings who made mistakes, that we faced painful consequences and that we learned from them. This exercise can be done according to their ages and without necessarily going to specific details, but focusing on the moral and spiritual lesson.Usually the enemy will seek to bring down the next generation of the family with the same traps. Israel continually fell into idolatry. They carried idols from Egypt, when they went out and walked through the desert, and even when they arrived in the promised land, they worshiped the new idols of the land where God was going to bless them. They followed the idols of Egypt and Canaan. They tempted the Lord many times with their unbelief. Why? Because they did not set in their hearts the desire to be faithful to the Lord! They had no intention of persevering! Only when they needed God to rescue them and bless them with food, there they looked for Him, but in abundance they did not honor Him. That is why God rejected Israel and chose Judah as the land of blessing. When David reigned, he did so with justice, compassion, wisdom, leading the people into the presence of God. Gather your family, establish moral principles and rules based on the Word of God, form a new circle of intimacy with each other and with God. Also, tell them how difficult it was when they did not follow God's advice and explain the process of restoration when someone makes a mistake, and the process of destruction and damnation when someone voluntarily and rebelliously renounces the faith. Consider this:When you listen to someone's testimony, are you attentive to learn from the result of their actions? I am your friend Eduardo Rodriguez. May the Lord hear your prayer and give you wisdom to guide your home.≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈Noviembre 25: Formando la fe de la nueva generación.

The real estate industry has provided and given a lot to many realtors. While it's essential to grow and develop your own success, it's just as important to give back! And the best way to give back in the real estate industry is by helping new agents get off to a great start. In today's episode of The Real Estate Sales Podcast, Jimmy is joined by Mario Mitchell to discuss how he welcomes and celebrates new realtors to his team.  Even if you're just a year in, you can provide value to those around you. You can provide those newer to the industry with insights from the top agents about what they wish they knew when they started. Celebrate someone as they start in the industry. Early on, many people might not have the confidence to be successful. By throwing a welcome party, they recognize they have people around them who want to see them succeed.  As soon as Mario's new members graduate from their “boot camp,” they throw a party for those people. They celebrate the person, give them a gift, and tell them information that will help them thrive and be confident. Gather information from the top producers around you.  Have top producers write one or two sentences about what helped them, what inspired them to join the industry, or what they wish they knew about it. Ask each top producer or current realtor three simple questions: What is their favorite tool or app? What is something they wish they knew when starting in the industry? If you were starting over, where would you focus? You'll get a wide range of information and a playbook for the industry, and that's a fantastic way to support those around you. Happy Thanksgiving from our families to yours. Don't overeat. In this episode Allen and I talk about what we are thankful for, the use of thankfulness in the Bible and our salvation - among many other things. We also announce our upcoming GraceWorx Ministries Discipleship Program. We developed a discipleship program that is based on the Bible and a relationship with God. Our discipleship program mirrors our podcast - realistic, relatable and relative. We don't throw manmade rules around and we certainly don't pit denominations against denominations. This discipleship program is for anyone and everyone who wants to know more about a deeper relationship with God. 1 Timothy 4:4 “For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:” Philippians 4:6 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” 2 Corinthians 4:15 “For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.” Revelation 7:12 “Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.” We have a lot of fun making these episode and we pray that you enjoy listening to them as well. Thanks for tuning in. We don't claim to have all the answers - and you should never ever take our word for it - DO YOUR RESEARCH ! Don't ever be ashamed to ask about things you don't understand. Gather round the table, grab a turkey leg, some cranberry sauce, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy. and dig in to our festive treat to you, the listeners. As this year, Murd and Ian celebrate with the one, the only, Uncle Sal Abbinanti! As usual, this episode is very much not for the kids and the episode itself is raw and uncensored, but we go over everything from what Sal's been up to lately, life in and around Chicago as it tries to return to normal, his eventual return to conventions and what he wants to see once there, how time away has been a source of inspiration, plenty of slice of life anecdotes, and of course his current Kickstarter campaign for the Atomika: God is Red Omnibus. Dig in, this one is worth taking your time with and really savoring it. And for those of you celebrating, a happy and a healthy Thanksgiving to you all! (1:44:54)

Thank you so much for listening to us. In this episode Allen and I discuss following and leading and what it means in your relationship with God. It is extremely hard to lead and follow and it isn't always what it sounds like. You can't follow and lead at the same time. I used to think being a leader was great - until I started following Jesus. We don't claim to have all the answers - and you should never ever take our word for it - DO YOUR RESEARCH ! Don't ever be ashamed to ask about things you don't understand. Go to God in prayer, ask for answers to be revealed to you, stay in God's will and read your bible. We aren't perfect and we don't profess to be, far from it actually - keep that in mind as you listen to our stories. If you are spending more time picking apart our messages, your spending too much time on the wrong things. Put your focus back on God. Read Your Bible. Pray. Surround Yourself with Like-Minded Christians. Gather with Two or More in His Name. Know your sources, research your topics, cross reference verses and never grieve the Holy Spirit.
