Hello, hello!! It's Thursday—time for another Opportunity Knocks!!
Today on the podcast we sit down with PLATEFIT creator and founder, Rachael Blumberg. On this episode we discuss Rachael’s inspiring journey in fitness, entrepreneurship, and the incredible technology of the medical grade vibrating plates that are used in the 27-minute PlateFit classes! PLATEFIT classes are taken on medical grade devices that utilize rapid harmonic vibration — a unique means of destabilizing the body. This destabilization forces reflexive, subconscious neuromuscular action, in both muscular and connective tissue, in order to re-balance the body and maintain stability. The plates are always moving three directions at once: left to right, front to back, up and down. The vibration activates your muscle reflexes, and during the workout classes, muscles are contracting 30 to 50 times per second — roughly 900 – 1,500 contractions every 30 seconds The benefits of the class include: increased muscle toning, serotonin, bone density, endurance, increased metabolism, lymphatic drainage and blood flow, and a decrease in cortisol levels, among many others. We are huge fans of PLATEFIT, which is fun, challenging, and allows you to break a sweat in just 27 minutes. Rachael is widely regarded as one of the most innovative and knowledgeable Power Plate® instructors in the industry and her mission is to help individuals achieve their goals, while feeling good in their bodies and in their lives. We loved this conversation with Rachael, learned so much about the power plate technology, the ups and downs of entrepreneurship, and why you should never be deterred by "no!" Today we chat with Platefit founder Rachael Blumberg. Platefit is the cult workout that medically lifts your vibration, shimmies away cellulite, and detoxifies your precious lymphs in less time than it takes to watch one episode of Schitt’s Creek. This episode is about one woman following her intuition and passion all the way to Cher’s living room. We won’t spoil the episode by outlining her exact trajectory but, let’s just say, this ep leaves you with high vibes in your newly ripped body, mind, and spirit.
Imagine shaking and shimmying your way to a fitter version of yourself in just 27 minutes. That's the idea behind PLATEFIT - a high intensity workout that uses vibrating power plates to shimmy you to skinny. Or at least, more fit. I talked with the founder of PLATEFIT Rachael Blumberg about why she created this work out, and if working out on vibrating plates really works. Rachael says vibration training is more than physical fitness and it's backed by science. She tells me NASA uses this technology to train their astronauts. I'm in! Anything that's good enough for the astronauts is good enough for me! I haven't tried a class yet but it's on my list as soon as I get a break. Here's why Rachael says it works: "We utilize the science of vibration to wake up your cells, increase circulation, drain & detoxify the lymphatic system, reduce inflammation, and accelerate recovery time. The body’s response to vibration increases serotonin & HGH and reduces cortisol— leaving you feeling high and living more vibrantly." She tells me she had a dream to start a business using vibration training and partnered with Cher to get started. Yes, THAT Cher! But soon after they started their business, Cher had to go to Vegas for her residency and Rachael navigated the growing popularity of PLATEFIT on her own. The business grew and grew through word of mouth and testimonials of people who had real results from this powerful 27 minute workout. Now she owns several PLATEFIT locations across SoCal and will be opening more next year. She's also a mom of 2 little ones and has a passion for fitness and following her dreams. You'll love hearing her story in this episode and when you do, share your workout goals with me for the New Year! And you can visit platefit.co for more info on classes.

This episode features Platefit founders Rachael Blumberg and Yuval Chiprut. Platefit is a boutique exercise company that provides classes designed around the use of Power Plates. The plates, originally developed to help Russian cosmonauts recover after spending time in zero gravity, vibrate to increase muscle contractions during workouts. Rachael and Yuval met while teaching exercise classes at the same gym, eventually becoming business partners -- and life partners, too. Today, they are married and co-own three stores. They talked to us about expanding their business and about the value of investing in public relations. We're back! Here's an episode recorded in L.A. in July while Bianca was visiting her BFFL Clare. They go to Platefit, a class where you stand on a vibrating platform while you do exercise. It's a good one!
