What does leadership have to do with dog training? More than most people realize. In Episode 3 of The Journey: Leadership Through Partnership, The Danny and Gunner Story, we explore why so many training plans fail, whether you're working with a service dog, leading a team, or trying to build better habits. Inconsistency, unclear expectations, and reactive decision-making can derail progress long before results have a chance to appear. Through Danny and Gunner's journey, Robert and Michele Forto share real-world lessons about structure, trust, accountability, and the power of showing up every day, even when progress feels slow. The same principles that create a reliable service dog partnership often create effective leadership. If you've ever struggled with a dog that seems stuck, a training plan that isn't working, or a goal that feels out of reach, this episode offers practical insights that apply far beyond the training field. In this episode: Why consistency matters more than intensity The hidden cost of unclear communication How reactive behavior creates setbacks What service dog training teaches us about leadership Lessons from Danny and Gunner's partnership journey
Kathy Hilton stepped down last week from her role as Grand Marshal Icon at WeHo's 2026 pride. This week, more facts surfaced which seem to suggest there is more than originally thought to meet the eye. Speaking of RHOBH, Garcelle revealed, finally, the shocking secret reason she really quit RHOBH and it was not at all what anyone expected. No Sutton and the rest of the diamond holders, it does not have to do with you. Last, but not least, as Dorit's foreclosure was moved, yet again (Ok June 23rd, we see you), Dorit says Amanda Frances cannot have her house, says PK is fabricating a lot of financial facts about her and still, seems, a little disconnected with the true gravity of her financial situation. @behindvelvetrope @davidyontef BONUS & AD FREE EPISODES Available at - www.patreon.com/behindthevelvetrope BROUGHT TO YOU BY: SQUARE - square.com/go/VELVET (Get $200 Off The Platform That Brings Payments, Operations & Insights Together In One Place To Help You Run Your Business) WHATNOT - www.whatnot.com (Download The Whatnot App To Get Free Shipping On Your First Order To Live Shop on The US's #1 Live Shopping App) TASKRABBIT - taskrabbit.com (Or On The Taskrabbit App Use Code Velvet For $15 Off Your First Tasker) MYFITNESSPAL - podcasts.myfitnesspal.com (Use Code VELVET, All Upper Case Letters, For 15% Off The Premium App That Will Change Everything For You Regarding Fitness & Nutrition) ZENNI OPTICAL - zenni.com/podcast (Use Code Podcast15 For 15% Off Your First Order Of The Most Affordable, Stylish Glasses and Sunglasses) PROGRESSIVE - www.progressive.com (Visit Progressive.com To See If You Could Save On Car Insurance) ADVERTISING INQUIRIES - Please contact David@advertising-execs.com MERCH Available at - https://www.teepublic.com/stores/behind-the-velvet-rope?ref_id=13198 Learn more about your ad choices. Most men trying to quit porn focus almost entirely on what they're doing.Very few stop to explore what's happening underneath it.The reality is that every behavior is connected to something deeper. Thoughts. Emotions. Longings. Fears. Stress. Heart hunger. In this episode, Shawn introduces one of the most important concepts in recovery: your inner world. You'll learn why so many men feel disconnected from themselves, how suppression creates confusion, and why porn often becomes a response to an inner world that feels overwhelming or misunderstood.Together we'll explore:• What your inner world actually is • Why most men become disconnected from it • How suppression fuels unwanted sexual behaviors • The connection between thoughts, emotions, and heart hunger • Why awareness creates clarity and hope when quitting pornYou'll also be invited into a simple reflection exercise to help you start noticing + the bonus hack to do these more effecively than ever before:• What you're feeling • What you're thinking • What your heart is hungry forBecause when you understand what's happening beneath the surface, your struggle starts making a lot more sense.
Send us Fan MailA popular claim these days is that God prohibited pork, shellfish, and other animals because they're unhealthy, unclean scavengers, or dangerous for human consumption. But is that actually what the Bible says?In this video, Dr. Solberg examines a viral claim that the dietary laws of Leviticus 11 were given for health reasons and test that idea against Scripture itself. He looks at the biblical meaning of "clean" and "unclean," explores the Hebrew concepts of ritual purity, and examines the reason God explicitly gives for Israel's food laws. Were the dietary restrictions primarily about nutrition? Were they intended for all humanity? Why were Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Noah allowed to eat foods that would later be restricted under the Mosaic Covenant? And what does the Torah itself say about the purpose of these commandments?Rather than relying on modern Hebrew Roots and other Torah-observant movement theories, let's go directly to the biblical text and let Scripture speak for itself. Topics covered:• Leviticus 11 and the prohibition of pork• The Hebrew words ṭāhôr (clean) and ṭāmēʾ (unclean)• Ritual purity versus health regulations• Why Israel's dietary laws were given• Leviticus 20:25–26 and being "set apart"• Genesis 9 and the pre-Sinai diet• Common misconceptions about biblical food laws• Hebrew Roots claims examined in light of ScriptureThe Biblical Roots MinistriesOur websiteOur YouTube ChannelProf. Solberg's BlogSupport our Ministry (Thank you!)

You know that feeling right before you get on a sales call — the tight chest, the over-rehearsed opener, the weird energy you can't shake? It's not nerves. It's not inexperience. SET FREE SISTERHOOD- Mindset and Over drinking Coach -Thriving Alcohol Free- Faith Filled Women
Most women don't plan to stay stuck. They don't wake up and decide: "Let's spend another season avoiding what's really bothering me." But that's often what happens. Life gets busy. Schedules fill up. The days start running together. The drinking continues. The distractions multiply. And before you know it, summer is over. Then September arrives with a familiar feeling: Regret. Regret that nothing really changed. Regret that you spent another season putting yourself last. Regret that the goals, healing, and growth you wanted somehow got pushed aside again. Here's the question I've been thinking about: What will this summer cost you if nothing changes? What will it cost your peace? Your health? Your relationships? Your confidence? Your purpose? Imagine instead arriving at the end of summer feeling stronger, clearer, more grounded, and proud of the commitments you kept to yourself. That's why I've opened a few spots for summer coaching. Whether you're a former client interested in the Summer Growth Pass or you're new and curious about getting support , I'd love to help you create a different ending to this summer. Email me at michelle@setfreesisterhood.com Here are those journal questions I promised: If nothing changes between now and Labor Day, how will I feel about myself? What promises have I been making to myself that I continue to break? What is it costing me emotionally to keep repeating the same patterns? How is overdrinking affecting my confidence and trust in myself? How is it impacting my relationship with God? What opportunities, experiences, or growth am I missing because I keep postponing change? If I continue exactly as I am for the next 90 days, what will likely be different? What will likely stay the same? What would I be most proud of if I looked back on this summer in September? What support do I need that I'm currently not giving myself? What's one decision I know I need to make today? Bonus Question: If I knew freedom, growth, and healing were possible, what would I do next?
On YouTube at https://youtu.be/SH-XU_lP4mw Few things are more confusing than when an ex reaches out, starts a conversation, seems interested... and then suddenly disappears again. What happened? Did they change their mind? Were they just bored? Was it a test? Or is something else going on beneath the surface? In this episode, I explain some of the most common reasons an ex reaches out and then vanishes, including relief, curiosity, fear, uncertainty, emotional conflict, and the difference between wanting to reconnect and being ready to reconnect. If you've been left wondering what your ex's silence means after they reached out, this episode will help you understand the psychology behind the behavior and what it may reveal about where they are emotionally. Whether you're hoping to get your ex back or simply trying to make sense of their actions, you'll gain insight into what may be happening behind the scenes and how to avoid common mistakes that can push them further away. What if we're not actually afraid of our power? Rather, what if we're afraid of the perception of what standing in our power might cost us?In this episode, I explore a pattern I've observed in myself, practitioners & mentors across the Spiritual & energy work space over a decade.Because perhaps the fear was never visibility.Or judgmentOr authorityOr even power itself.. as we have most often learned to relate to it. Perhaps the deeper fear is being misunderstood.Losing belonging.Outgrowing communities.Being seen without the ability to control what others can make that mean. This is a conversation about personal power, spiritualauthority, permission culture, authenticity, and the hidden stories many heart-led practitioners carry about leadership, service, humility, and influence. Not from the perspective of fixing yourself. But from the perspective of questioning whether we've beentrying to solve the wrong “problem” all along. If you've ever felt caught between staying safe and becomingmore fully yourself, this episode is for you.Because spirit-led power may have far less to do withbecoming someone new and far more to do with simply accepting who you've always been. Perspective shifts from today's conversationPower is not domination. Visibility is not the same as safety. Being misunderstood is not the same as being wrong. Humility is not self-erasure. Authority is not something granted by others. The Spirit-led Reiki Pathway: https://www.reikiredefined.com/spirit-led-reiki-pathway/Free community: https://www.reikiredefined.com/free-community/No cost weekly round up to your inbox: https://reiki-redefined.kit.com/6629991732You'll find me most @reikiredefined on Titkok.

Do you feel disconnected from your wife, even though you genuinely want to be close to her?For many men in pornography addiction recovery, one of the most painful parts of the journey is not only stopping porn. It is learning how to rebuild trust, emotional safety, and real connection in marriage. You may want to listen, love, repair, and show up well, but still feel like your wife does not trust you, does not see your efforts, or does not believe your intentions. You may try to explain yourself and end up sounding defensive. You may try to help and end up trying to fix her emotions. You may try to be honest and still feel like there is a wall between you.In this episode of No More Desire, I sit down with Tyler Patrick of Therapy Brothers to talk about the real reason many men feel disconnected from their wives, how avoidant men often marry anxious women, and how this anxious-avoidant marriage cycle can quietly destroy trust, intimacy, and emotional connection.Tyler is a marriage and family therapist, certified DBT skills trainer, and has specialized training in treating sexual addiction. He also shares from his own personal recovery story, including the pain of betrayal, secrecy, shame, and the process of becoming a more grounded, honest, emotionally present husband. We talk about why porn addiction and marriage problems are so deeply connected. Porn does not only damage sexual integrity. It damages emotional safety. When a man hides pornography use, lies, minimizes, or keeps secrets, his wife often begins to question everything: “Can I trust him? Is he who I thought he was? What else do I not know?” That rupture of safety is one of the deepest wounds in betrayal trauma. We also discuss why many men shut down, withdraw, get defensive, or disappear into work, screens, or isolation when their wife is upset. Often, this is not because they do not care. It is because shame, fear, and emotional overwhelm take over. The man feels like he is failing, so he protects himself instead of staying present.Tyler explains the anxious-avoidant relationship cycle in a clear and practical way. The anxious partner often moves closer, asks more questions, seeks reassurance, and tries to regain safety. The avoidant partner often pulls away, shuts down, or feels criticized. The more she pursues, the more he withdraws. The more he withdraws, the more unsafe she feels. This cycle can become exhausting for both people. But there is hope.In this conversation, we discuss practical tools for men who want to overcome pornography addiction and become trustworthy again. We talk about emotional regulation, shame resiliency, mindfulness, self-compassion, parts work, taking healthy timeouts without abandoning your wife, and learning how to respond with presence instead of defensiveness. We also talk about why cravings are often emotional signals. A porn craving is not always just about sexual desire. Sometimes it is connected to stress, shame, fear, disconnection, or even the vulnerability of feeling close to your wife. When a man learns to understand what the craving is trying to medicate, he can begin responding with wisdom instead of panic. This episode is for the man who wants to stop hiding. It is for the husband who wants to rebuild trust after porn addiction. It is for the man who wants to become emotionally present with his wife, stop shutting down during hard conversations, and create a recovery lifestyle rooted in truth, love, and masculine self-leadership.Porn addiction trains a man to escape. Recovery trains a man to stay.Stay truthful. Stay grounded. Stay present. Stay in the work.Check out more from Tyler Patrick and the Therapy Brothers at therapybrothers.org/no-more-desire, where you'll find additional resources created specifically for No More Desire listeners.Link to Blog Article for this EpisodeVisit No More Desire Tools for Recovery for recovery tools and training, including my free eBook, Workshop, The RAIL Method ™ and more to help you break free from porn.If you're tired of trying to quit porn on your own, the No More Desire Academy gives you a structured path to recovery through coaching, brotherhood, practical tools, and step-by-step training. I discussed three common beliefs that prevent students from achieving true mastery and introduced the Into, Through, and Beyond Framework—a simple but powerful approach to curriculum design that prioritizes retention over coverage. You'll discover:✅ Why teaching a skill once isn't enough for mastery✅ The difference between covering content and teaching for retention✅ How spiraling content helps students build lasting skills✅ Why rinse-and-repeat activities save time and improve learning✅ How to create a curriculum that feels intentional instead of reactiveWhether you're building your own curriculum or navigating a district-mandated program, this episode will help you rethink the way you plan so your students can experience deeper learning and long-term success.

People love to complain about the declining quality of movies, music, books, and art. But what if we're asking the wrong question? The inspiration for this episode came from a post on Threads by @Tanviberwah: “Everybody wants to talk about declining quality of books and music and movies and etc etc. Nobody wants to talk about the economic conditions of writers and editors and designers and musicians and etc etc impacting cultural innovation.”That idea immediately resonated with me. We often celebrate innovation after it happens, but rarely examine the conditions that make innovation possible in the first place. As economic pressures increase and more people find themselves working multiple jobs just to get by, what happens to creativity, experimentation, and the freedom to take risks?I explore the relationship between economic stability, creativity, innovation, and play. From Hollywood and publishing to technology and entrepreneurship, I argue that many of society's greatest breakthroughs happen when people have the time and space to think, explore, fail, and discover—not when they're simply trying to survive.Whether you're an artist, entrepreneur, filmmaker, writer, or someone simply trying to do meaningful work, this episode examines what it really takes to create something new. Because innovation doesn't just require talent. It requires the conditions for creativity to thrive.

Dry July, No Drama: Daily Tips for a Take It or Leave It Relationship With Alcohol EPISODE 8: The Real Reason You Keep Reaching for a Drink - It's Not What You Think - Dry July, No Drama You have heard of fight, flight and freeze - the nervous system safety responses. There is a fourth: fawning - or masking. And alcohol is the biggest mask of them all. The body and brain very quickly learn that drinking allows us to mask and pretend to be the human that society told us we should be - rather than the human we actually are. This is one of the most overlooked reasons people struggle to cut back on drinking. I hear this from clients all the time: I don't know why I drink. I know it's hurting me but I just keep choosing it. Like children, people do well when they can. When they feel safe to. These are not moral failings. They are very valid reasons for reaching for a drink: Not feeling confident socially without the bravado barrier of wine An inner critic that makes being with yourself feel unbearable Needing to push through exhaustion and overwhelm Drinking as the only way to give yourself permission to stop and rest This is grey area drinking at its core - and it is far more common than anyone talks about. The job here is not to solve any of this tonight. It is simply to notice - and to hold yourself with the same compassion you would give a scared child. That is where the freedom begins. This episode is part of Dry July, No Drama - a daily MidlifeAF podcast mini series with tips for cutting back on alcohol without willpower, labels or forever. My Grounding Audio will help you identify the unmet need underneath the craving before it reaches for a drink. See links below: FREE TOOLS - four beautiful resources to help you drink less and feel fabulous: 1. 7 Steps to Take Back Control of Alcohol - the exact steps I took when I started out on this journey nearly five years ago. hoperisingcoaching.com/7-steps 2. Grounding Meditation - you know that feeling when you have a drink and the body goes "aaaaaaaahhhhhhh" and everything seems to relax? What the body really needs is to ground - to come back home to self, and for self to feel lovely. That is what we work on in my live programs. We start every session with a grounding and connect with ourselves to find out what our body really needs when it thinks it wants to drink. hoperisingcoaching.com/grounding READY TO GO DEEPER? The Inside Scoop with Anytime Soccer Training - Discussing Youth Soccer from Around the World
In this episode I'm responding to a comment from our Anytime Soccer Training Facebook group that puts most of the blame on MLS and closed-circle systems for the problems in youth soccer. And honestly, there are some valid points there. We do need a stronger federation, a more open pyramid system, and better accountability across the board. But the more I dug into it, the more I realized — this is a lot more complicated than pointing the finger at one organization.Yes, MLS has influence. But club soccer's high costs aren't primarily driven by league structure. They're driven by what parents want and expect. Paid coaches. Multiple training days per week. National league competition. That demand exists regardless of how the system is set up at the top.I also talk about why bringing in more professional academies doesn't solve the cost problem for the average family, how the lack of a clear ranking system lets clubs market themselves without real accountability, and why those international comparisons you see online are almost always missing key context — coaching compensation, training frequency, facility costs, season length all matter before you can make a fair comparison. There's room to improve the system, no question. But a lot of what's driving costs comes down to cultural expectations around what youth sports should look like in America — and that's the harder, messier conversation nobody wants to have.

Americans are saving less than they have in years, and the banking industry is partly to blame.Jim Marous argues that the savings crisis is partly a design failure. Banks spent decades making spending effortless while leaving saving to willpower, and the programs that actually changed behavior, from Christmas Clubs to round-ups to retirement auto-enrollment, all worked the same way: they built a system and removed the decision. The uncomfortable part is why the industry never automated everyday saving behaviors. This episode covers the difference between a knowledge problem and a behavior problem, what Bank of America, Ally, SoFi, and Acorns understood that most institutions ignored, why the clearest signal a customer can send so often goes unanswered, and the single change that would do more than any new technology.Subscribe for new Banking Insights each week as part of the Banking Transformed podcast.#BankingTransformed #Banking #DigitalBanking #FinancialWellness #BehavioralEconomics #Fintech #Saving

Why are so many people being drawn to homesteading right now? In today's episode, I'm sharing a more personal reflection on what I've witnessed during my 15+ years teaching homesteading and traditional skills. While many people initially come to homesteading for healthier food, self-sufficiency, or preparedness, I've noticed something deeper happening beneath the surface. Again and again, people tell me they feel called by God to this lifestyle. In this episode, I share my own story of how God called me into teaching traditional skills, why I believe more people are returning to gardening, food preservation, and self-reliance, and how stewardship, community, and faith all play a role in the modern homesteading movement. In this episode, we'll discuss: • Why homesteading continues to grow • The deeper reasons people are drawn to traditional skills • Stewardship, preparedness, and biblical wisdom • Why community matters more than isolation • The story behind our local Cowboy Church • How faith and homesteading often intersect • Upcoming events and opportunities to gather together Whether you're new to homesteading or have been living this lifestyle for years, I hope this conversation encourages you to thoughtfully consider what is drawing you to these skills and how they can serve your family, community, and faith. You've built systems before. You probably built them well. The problem wasn't creating them. The problem was maintaining them once the novelty wore off.Wednesday's episode explored why ADHD founders often struggle with operational consistency. This episode covers the structural solution. The systems integrator role sits between the ADHD founder and the rest of the business. It captures ideas, filters priorities, protects the team from constant pivots, and builds the documentation that turns founder insight into repeatable execution.Skye and Robbie break down the four functions of the role, how it differs from an EA or COO, how it scales as a business grows, and the hiring mistakes that cause founders to recreate the same bottlenecks they're trying to solve. What We CoverThe four functions of a systems integrator and how they differ from a standard EA or COO roleHow raw creative output gets processed through pre-agreed prioritization filters before it reaches the teamWhy the role acts as a gravitational buffer against novelty-seeking attention wells pulling the team off courseHow the role scales from solopreneur to COO-led teamThe three hiring mistakes ADHD founders make when trying to solve the structural problem P.S. It's Witness Wednesday! At Kennesaw State University, Todd Friel meets an agnostic history student who finds Christianity surprisingly credible, but still isn't ready to commit. The conversation moves from postmodernism and historical evidence to guilt, judgment, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Todd also talks with Carlos, who explains why he prefers the name "Yeshua" and wrestles with questions about faith, tradition, and salvation. Segment 1 • Can history actually prove Christianity? • Is agnosticism a safe middle ground? • What kind of evidence would convince you God exists? Segment 2 • Is the Bible just a 2,000-year-old game of telephone? • Why would men die for a resurrection they knew was false? • What if the evidence for Christianity is stronger than you think? Segment 3 • Will God judge you by your good deeds—or your crimes? • Why don't time, regret, or sincerity remove guilt? • What if your biggest problem isn't a lack of evidence? Segment 4 • Why does Carlos refuse to call Jesus "Jesus"? • Does calling Him "Yeshua" make you more biblical? • Is there really a back door into heaven? ___ Thanks for listening! Most people assume tight hamstrings are a stretching problem. They're not. Hamstring tightness is almost always multifactorial, which means the solution requires a broader range of strategies — not more of the same stretching that hasn't worked. On this podcast, Jason breaks down 6 evidence-informed strategies for improving hamstring flexibility that go well beyond passive stretching. Whether you're a yoga teacher, yoga student, or anyone focused on mobility and movement quality, these strategies will change how you think about — and train — your hamstrings. What you'll learn:-Why foam rolling works neurologically — not just mechanically — and how to use it as a primer before you stretch-Why strengthening your glutes may do more for your hamstring flexibility than more stretching ever will-How weak hip flexors limit anterior pelvic tilt — and why that directly limits hamstring length-Why your adductors (especially adductor magnus) may be quietly working against your hamstring flexibility-How dynamic stretching and engaged stretching give your nervous system more feedback — and unlock more range than passive stretching alone-Why hamstring tightness is almost always multifactorial — and why there is no single magic techniqueSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/yogaland.
