Hello, kaiju lovers! MIFV's season three theme, Ameri-kaiju, wouldn't be complete without some Ray Harryhausen, so Nate invited both of his “co-hosts in kamen” (ba-dum-tsh!) to discuss 20 Million Miles to Earth. (Yes, Jimmy reminds Nate that he got his chronology wrong, because this film was released in 1957 and The Blob was 1958. Oops!). Harryhausen super-fans Travis Alexander and Michael Hamilton, co-hosts of the Kaiju Weekly podcast, join Nate in a chat that veers perilously close to derailing at multiple points. Jet lag will do that to you, especially when flying to the Island in the Rad Bug. Regardless, 20 Million Miles was Harryhausen's first truly iconic film, paving the way for his fantasy epics that followed. The intrepid Jimmy From NASA keeps trying to tell his story about seeing a herd of Ymir on their native Venus, but nobody cares. The Toku Topic is the Soviet side of the Space Race since this film begins with a rocket ship crash and was released several months before the launch of Sputnik I. Be prepared for many (bad) Russian accents! To compete with this broadcast, Cameron Winter did a livestream where he sent one of his Cyber-Flies to track down the Ymir so he could be put on display for the film's anniversary and Harryhausen's birthday in June. Winter rambles about seemingly random things while doing so. Special thanks to J.P. Gant for helping to edit this episode! Follow him on Twitter: @Homebrewed_SD (https://tinyurl.com/2jpc36r5). Guest stars: Jack “GMan” Hudgens as Cameron Winter Additional music: “Pacific Rim” by Niall Stenson “Chant My Name!” by Masaaki Endo Sound effects sourced from Freesound.org. GREEN RANGER WEEK CONTINUES! PDT and Grax watch on as Goldar kills time until tomorrow’s episode.
Hey Putty Patrollers! Join us and Greg from the War & Beast Podcast to discuss Jason's guilt over Tommy losing his powers, our anger and then joy at the rangers riding around in a station wagon instead of the Rad Bug, weird trophy's and Zack's ego, and Power Rangers Heaven.
Michael and Mat go guestless for the first time since our first episode, to watch the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers episode 'The Rockstar'. It's a rockin' episode! …sorry. We discuss our 30 favourite monsters on the show so far… at least 30 - 15, you'll have to wait till next week for the others. Find out why we thought Mr Ticklesneezer was the absolute worst monster (besides the name). Mat decides that Mary Shelley's seminal work, Frankenstein, oft described as the birth of science fiction, was not done justice when the character of Frankenstein's Monster was adapted for Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. He's here to make the tough calls so you don't have to. There's something missing from this episode. I can't quite put my finger on it. It just seemed to have less glorious, long 90s hair and Godzilla robots. It's the final appearance of the Rad Bug. Solemn times. "He's a man of some girth, and he really gets up into the air." 'The black one' is a phrase said by a small child referring to Zack, and suddenly the racism of this situation comes screeching into the foreground. AND SO MUCH MORE!!

On the podcast this week, we tackle the Dark Warrior, once again with Sarah's help! We discuss what Walter Emanuel Jones (that would be Black Power Ranger Zack) has been up to since leaving the show! Spoiler warning: being in officially the worst movie ever and getting done for DUI. We describe the Rad Bug to someone who doesn't know about it, unsurprisingly we sound like crazy people. We meet the Dark Warrior, who is wearing an incredibly intimidating teal cravat. "Finnster is the Alexander McQueen of the Monster World." Sarah finally gets to see some Zords! Thank God, she probably thought we were making them up. We tease the major event coming next episode. DUN DUN DUUUUN!! And much more!!
