Send us a textIn this episode of Big Butts No Lies, Mavi sits down with board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Eric Anderson to explore the subtle, natural look known as the “Midwest aesthetic.” Dr. Anderson explains how his consultations begin by understanding each patient's unique goals, stressing that implant size should be personalized rather than based on numbers alone. He emphasizes the importance of surgeons taking time to understand their patients' vision of what looks natural to ensure a result that aligns with their expectations. They also cover incision placement preferences, including options Dr. Anderson avoids and why. The conversation dives into breast implant illness—highlighting the need for more data, the importance of informed consent, and why surgeons should maintain an open, supportive dialogue. For patients seeking breast volume without implants, Dr. Anderson explains alternatives like auto augmentation, especially for those who have experienced weight loss or age-related volume changes. They also discuss when a breast lift may be the best option and why choosing a board-certified plastic surgeon is essential for safe, high-quality results.Key Topics Covered:What defines the “Midwest aesthetic” in plastic surgeryHow Dr. Anderson personalizes breast implant consultationsIncision placement options and surgeon preferencesUnderstanding breast implant illness and informed decision-makingAlternatives to implants, including auto augmentationAddressing pseudoptosis and when a lift may be necessaryThe importance of choosing a board-certified plastic surgeonTune in now to get expert insights into breast augmentation, alternatives to implants, and the importance of patient-centered care in plastic surgery!Follow Dr. Eric Anderson on Instagram @dr.ericwandersonSchedule a consultation: Impressions Chicago ContactDr. Anderson's Profile: About Dr. Eric AndersonDo you want help planning your surgery? Hello, Kaiju Lovers! Nate and Jet move on to jolly ol' England for the penultimate stop on the Monster Island World Tour, but it's to discuss the sleaziest of the 1961 European kaiju movies: Konga. Thankfully, Nate is joined by the co-hosts of the podcast Record All Monsters (and...fugitives...?), who un-ironically like this movie. While it's a King Kong "knockoff," the studio paid RKO $25,000 for the rights. Not to mention, aside from featuring a giant gorilla (for 15 minutes) who carries humans in his hand, it has almost nothing in common with Kong. But hey, it has Michael Gough (aka Alfred Pennyworth) in it! The Toku Topic, appropriately, is the mad scientist archetype. "Jimmy's Notes" on this episode COMING SOON! I'm thrilled to share some exciting highlights from the latest episode of our podcast, where I had an incredible conversation with Eric Anderson, the co-founder and CTO of SynMax. Eric's journey from finance to launching a cutting-edge data intelligence company is nothing short of inspiring. Here are some key takeaways that I think you'll find fascinating: The Birth of SynMaxFrom Finance to Innovation: Eric's background in finance and investment analysis laid the groundwork for SynMax. His experience at firms like Merrill Lynch and Skyler Capital sparked the idea of leveraging privileged data, such as commercial satellite imagery, to create actionable intelligence products.Privileged Data vs. Open-Source Data: While many companies focus on open-source data, SynMax stands out by using high-quality, paid data sources. This unique approach allows them to deliver superior intelligence products to hedge funds, banks, and government entities.Target Market and Customer BaseWho Benefits?: SynMax's primary clients are hedge funds, banks, and government entities. With a customer base split roughly 60% government and defense and 40% financial institutions, SynMax is making waves in sectors that highly value actionable intelligence. Data Security and GrowthUnclassified but Secure: While SynMax's data is unclassified, they are exploring opportunities to integrate with classified data sources, emphasizing the importance of cybersecurity.Scaling Up: From a one-man show to a team of around 100 employees, Eric shares the challenges and triumphs of scaling a startup. Attracting top talent, especially software developers and data scientists, has been crucial to their growth. Leadership and CultureLessons in Leadership: Eric's journey as a leader has been shaped by experience and learning to delegate effectively. He stresses the importance of creating a culture where employees feel comfortable bringing bad news to leadership, fostering transparency and continuous improvement.Startup Culture: Speed and motivation are key. Eric is upfront about the demands of working at a startup, ensuring that new hires are passionate about the mission.Competitive EdgeStanding Out: SynMax's focus on privileged data sets them apart from competitors who rely on free data sources. This strategy allows them to provide high-quality intelligence at a lower overall cost. Future Trends and OpportunitiesExpanding Horizons: Eric is excited about the potential for data intelligence products to become more mainstream. With decreasing costs of satellite technology and the rise of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites, the future looks bright for SynMax. Key Strategies and ChallengesIdentifying Opportunities: The challenge isn't finding opportunities but identifying which ones have real potential. Eric emphasizes the importance of quickly developing minimum viable products (MVPs) and testing market demand.Navigating Volatility: Despite market volatility, SynMax operates in a defensible space. Their data helps clients identify opportunities during market overreactions, providing stability and value.Global Reach and Ethical ConsiderationsInternational Contracts: SynMax has contracts with the U.S. government and allied nations, highlighting their global reach.Maintaining Trust: Confidentiality and unbiased data are paramount. Hello, Kaiju Lovers! This episode was five years in the making for executive producer Damon Noyes—so he talked for five hours! He's been clamoring for all his favorite podcasts to cover the infamous Danish kaiju movie, Reptilicus (1961/1962), which became something of an icon in spite of itself. But good things come to those who wait, because now Vinegar Syndrome has released a new 4K blu-ray that includes both the American and Danish versions—complete with the notorious “Tilicus” song! Yes, Reptilicus was a pseudo-musical in Denmark! Nate and Damon had so much to get into, including a Toku Topic on biological regeneration, that this now holds the record for longest MIFV episode. This stop on the Monster Island World Tour was so long, your hosts almost missed the rest of a convention for Reptilicus fans in Tivoli Gardens called Repti-Con! Is origin of life research going round in circles? This is ID the Future, a podcast that isn't afraid to tackle the big questions about evolution and intelligent design. Today, host Eric Anderson chats with physicist Dr. Brian Miller about circular reasoning and other problems in origin of life research. They discuss the work of Stephen Meyer and James Tour, highlighting the information problem and the difficulties in natural chemical synthesis of life's building blocks. Miller analyzes a new paper on the supposed order of amino acid recruitment into the genetic code, critiquing its underlying circular reasoning. Dr. Miller also explains the concept of causal circularity in biological systems and reveals why intelligent design provides a better explanation for the origin of life than an unguided evolutionary scenario. Hello, Kaiju Lovers…and welcome, Listeners with Attitude! Nate takes advantage of his short time back on the Island to produce a Patreon-sponsored episode requested by first-time MIFV MAX member Andrew Wynja “The Ninja,” who picked the Power Rangers: Time Force VHS “Clash for Control.” So, naturally, Nate couldn't do this without his former Power Trip co-host Michael Hamilton. These episodes feature the first appearance of Wynja's favorite Zord, the amazing mecha-dinosaur Quantasaurus Rex (or Q-Rex), and Nate's Power Ranger “man crush,” Eric Myers, in an epic time travel adventure. But the reason Wynja chose this VHS edition of the episodes is because this was before they were censored in light of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Tune to hear about this and more! “Time for…Time Force!” Featuring Andrew Wynja as Frax. Jimmy's Notes on this episode COMING SOON! That wisecracking duo is back--at least on the MIFV podcast feed. The infamous Rito Revolto (or Rito Bandora, depending on who you talk to) and his cohort, some dude named Wade, go over the latest news on Monster Island. Then they take a request for some ultra-good music from Kevin Gomora, owner of The Markalite Lounge. All the while, they drive each other to the point of insanity before letting Nate get back on the air. What else is new? Hello, Kaiju Lovers! In this little epilogue to episode 100, Michael Hamilton, a frequent guest host on MIFV and former co-host of Nate's on The Power Trip, takes a break from the reception for Jimmy and Kaguya's wedding by going to Nessie's Brasserie—and meets a depressed William H. George III! The two of them have a strange heart-to-heart until Nate comes in. Comedic drama ensues. This special episode was conceived and written by Michael Hamilton with Nathan Marchand. Hello, Kaiju Lovers! We're celebrating not one but two momentous occasions! First, MIFV has reached triple digits, baby! But more importantly, Jimmy and Kaguya are finally getting married after a whirlwind courtship. All of MIFV's past guest hosts were cordially invited, and you'll get to hear highlights like the couple's vows, Nate's emotional best man speech, and interviews from guests at the reception. However, before Jimmy can get to the chapel, he and his groomsmen have overcome one last hurdle during the bachelor party—a mysterious device that projects the dreams of the (in)famous Ichiro Miki onto the entire Island! The only way to shut it down is to watch the uncut Destroy All Planets (aka the original dubbed version of Gamera vs. Viras). Not only is it one of only two Showa Gamera movies not riffed on Mystery Science Theater 3000, it's the most important chapter of Jimmy's life. Well, before his wedding day, anyway. On Valentine's Day, Eric Anderson showed up for work at Indiana Dunes National Park. Hours later, he learned by email (from someone he didn't know) that he had been fired. Anderson is one of the many thousands of federal employees blindsided by mass layoffs orchestrated by the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, led by tech billionaire Elon Musk. Officials claim the cuts are saving taxpayers millions, but critics warn they're gutting essential services and putting public safety at risk. As legal battles unfold and DOGE continues these reductions, the question remains: Is this about efficiency, or is something bigger at play? Hello, I'm Eric Anderson and welcome to YXE Underground. If you are a long time listener of the podcast, thank you!If this is your first time listening, welcome. YXE Underground is a local, independent podcast here in Saskatoon that shines a light on people who are doing incredible things but are flying under the radar. I am so excited that the wonderful Lisa Greig is once again joining us in Season Seven for Walking With Lisa episodes. We've done several episodes focusing on mental health and they have become some of the most listened to episodes in the seven seasons of the podcast. It got me thinking that it would be great if we could do a quick mental health check in every month and luckily Lisa said yes to the pitch. This is Lisa's second season on YXE Underground and I am grateful for her support. Lisa Greig is a mother of two young children, a social worker who now works for Saskatoon's Rock and Bloom, the author of a best selling children's book entitled 'Scream! Shout! Let's Feel Our Grief Out' and a trusted mental health advocate within our community. She has a true gift of explaining mental health issues and sharing insights in a clear, honest and compassionate way and I am thrilled that she will be sharing her wisdom with us in Season Seven of the podcast. The premise of these Walking With Lisa episodes is simple. Lisa and I will go for a walk (or sit down for lunch, ha ha) and I will start our conversation with this question: "What's on your mind, Lisa?"In this 'Walking With Lisa' episode, Lisa and I met for brunch at Hometown Diner and we explore the complex topic of forgiveness. We do this through the lens of the popular television show, Shrinking, and Lisa shares so many wonderful insights and reflections on a topic that can be hard for people to grasp at times. I struggle with forgiveness and so I really appreciate Lisa showing me its benefits, and how long the road can be to forgiveness, in our conversation. Every business knows that customers who spend more in the past usually spend more in the future. But what if there are some products for which the opposite is true? That is, seeing a customer buy one of these categories means they are less–not more–likely to return to you. JMR Co-editor Brett Gordon speaks with Ayelet Israeli (HBS) and Eric Anderson (Kellogg) to learn about “canary categories,” as in “canary in a coalmine,” which predict exactly this type of behavior. Tune in to learn more about how the authors navigated a complex revision journey.
On today's ID the Future from the vault, Casey Luskin continues his conversation with host Eric Anderson about the myths surrounding human origins. Luskin rebuts the popular claim that the human and chimp genomes are 98-99% similar and therefore surely resulted from Darwinian common descent. He also throws shade in the argument that humans and chimps share junk DNA similarities. The problem? So-called "pseudogenes" are turning out to have functions. Listen in as Luskin unravels this popular myth, one thread of evidence at a time. Source

Thousands of federal workers face difficulties finding new employment following recent layoffs tied to cost-cutting measures. Many workers held specialized positions that do not easily transition to private sector roles. Individuals like Eric Anderson, a former biological science technician, and Cathy Nguyen, previously with USAID, exemplify this challenge as they reassess their career paths. Job cuts span various sectors, affecting professionals including diplomats and public health workers. A disparity exists between pay in federal and private sectors, with lower-educated federal employees earning more, while those with higher education earn less. Some laid-off workers struggle with uncertainty in their job searches, particularly regarding benefits like health insurance.Learn more on this news visit us at: https://greyjournal.net/news/ Hosted on Acast. What is wrong with the standard evolutionary story of human origins? On today's ID the Future from the archive, host Eric Anderson begins a two-part conversation with geologist Dr. Casey Luskin to discuss why evolutionary models of paleo-anthropology, genetics, and evolutionary psychology fail to account for human origins. Dr. Luskin contributed a chapter on the topic in the 2023 book Science and Faith in Dialogue, which also features chapters from Stephen Meyer, Guillermo Gonzalez, James Tour, Marcos Eberlin, and others. In Part 1, Luskin describes his experiences in South Africa while earning a PhD in Geology from the University of Johannesburg. During his time there, Luskin had many opportunities to study various hominid fossils. Here he explains why he is Read More › Source
In this first episode of a Patreon-exclusive review series for the remaining 31 episodes of Godzilla: The Series not covered on the show, Nate analyzes episodes three and four of the superior Saturday morning cartoon sequel to the infamous 1998 movie. Merry Christmas, Kaiju Lovers! While this bonus episode was originally meant to end the season, with the delays in production and its hard deadline, it's coming out before the season is over. In a rare of instance of breaking character, Nathan and his guests, Bex and her husband "Encyclo" from Redeemed Otaku, are all appearing as themselves and not the MIFV versions (although, this is Encyclo's first appearance on MIFV). But since Christmas kaiju media is scarce, they're bending the definition of "kaiju" to discuss a holiday sharksploitation movie: Santa Jaws. If "kaiju" literally means "strange beast," the titular creature here certainly qualifies! On today's ID the Future out of the vault, Canceled Science author and physicist Eric Hedin concludes his conversation with host Eric Anderson about the challenge that the second law of thermodynamics poses for purely naturalistic scenarios of the origin of living organisms. The problem, Hedin argues, is generating the reams of exquisitely orchestrated biological information required for even the simplest self-reproducing cell. The fundamental principles of physics mitigate against chemical processes getting the job done. Hedin provides easy-to-grasp examples that illustrate his arguments. This is Part 2 of a two-part conversation. Source
The president of insurance giant AON tells Will Bain that firms should rethink their executives' security, calling on political leaders to “set the tone” on making the environment safer for CEOs. Eric Anderson also spoke about offering war risk insurance to businesses in Ukraine. Plus, how are Nigerians coping with inflation? The country's annual inflation rate climbed to a more than 28-year high in November, on the back of rising food prices.
On today's ID the Future from the archive, host Eric Anderson sits down with Canceled Science author and physicist Eric Hedin to discuss Hedin's new book and, in particular, the book's take on the origin-of-life problem. Hedin says the second law of thermodynamics poses a serious problem for the idea of a mindless origin of the first single-celled organism from prebiotic materials. Such an event would have involved a breathtaking increase in new information, and Hedin says that physics tells us pretty clearly that mindless nature degrades information; it doesn't create it. Are there workarounds? Listen in as he explains why he's not optimistic. Source

On today's ID the Future out of the vault, Stairway to Life co-author Rob Stadler and host Eric Anderson delve deeper into Challenge to Origin of Life: Energy Harnessing, an episode of the Long Story Short intelligent design video series. Could the first cell have been much simpler than any current cell, making it easier for it to emerge through blind natural forces on the early Earth? Stadler and Anderson surface one big problem with that idea: in experiments to make relatively simple cells even simpler, the cells inevitably become less robust and adaptable. These simpler cells must be coddled to survive. But the first cell on earth would have been anything but coddled. Tune in to learn more! Source
Happy Halloween, Monster Children! Your host Vinnie Kami (and his butler, Kappa Joe) return for another frightful tale of monster mayhem. Mr. Kami has the Legal Action Team's founder, Raymund Martin, who claims to have received a first edition copy of the book as a gift from a lovelorn secretary (and to have tried to save the book from falling into public domain in the 1960s) read the harrowing chapter where beauty comes face-to-face with the beast. On this ID The Future out of the vault, Origin-of-life specialist Rob Stadler joins host Eric Anderson to discuss a special problem facing all naturalistic origin-of-life scenarios: energy harnessing. To be viable, a cell must have sophisticated machinery, including ATP synthase, to turn raw energy into constructive energy. But how could prebiotic chemicals harness raw energy on the way to evolving into a viable self-reproducing cell without first having the sophisticated machinery to harness raw energy and convert it to useful work? In the zaniest (and funniest) MIFV episode yet, Nate is joined by the QUEEN OF THE FABULOUS EMPIRE, Kaiju Kim, and executive producer Damon Noyes to discuss the most notorious G-film ever: Godzilla vs. Megalon. Thanks to an aggressive ad campaign by Cinema Shares, constant play on TV (including a primetime slot hosted by John Belushi), and an endless amount of pseudo-legal home media releases (one of which got the Mystery Science Theater 3000 guys in trouble), this is the most seen G-film in the franchise. For many, this is their definition of Godzilla or their introduction to him—for better or worse. After Nate and company—including Jet Jaguar, who is filling in for Jimmy From NASA as Jimmy makes final prep for his wedding—finish what few “big brain topics” there are for this movie, they cut loose, cracking jokes and nerd-ing out for hours. Jimmy puts his foot down and refuses to let Nate join him on Uber-Moguera to recapture Bill the Jotnar. Disappointed, Nate wanders around a local Norwegian church, venting months and months' worth of pent up frustrations. But even when Jimmy manages to subdue Bill in the distance, Nate can't help but make things a little harder for his intrepid producer. Hello, Kaiju Lovers! The Monster Island World Tour moves into Europe with a stop in Oslo, Norway, to discuss the 2010 found footage kaiju film, Trollhunter (not to be confused with Netflix's Troll from 2022—we already covered that). Nate is joined by his college chum, the founder of Nerd Chapel, Eric Anderson, to dive into a movie that says Christians need not apply to be Norway's hunter of trolls (and we don't mean the internet variety). That's just one of the many aspects of this unique film that these two Christian nerds get into. Prepare yourself for a heaping dose of theology and folklore! For the Toku Topic, Nate delves into the “monster masts” controversy surrounding the construction of electrical lines in rural Norway, which helped inspire the film. Listen to our coverage of Netflix's Troll (2022) for more info on Norwegian troll folklore! LINK: https://tinyurl.com/mifv-max-14-troll. Jimmy's Notes on this episode COMING SOON! The culture of death wrongly interprets the term compassion to mean “to get rid of” rather than its true meaning, “to suffer with.” On this episode, host Eric Anderson welcomes hospice physician Dr. Howard Glicksman to the podcast to discuss physician-assisted suicide and euthanasia, the subjects of Dr. Richard Weikart's recent book Unnatural Death: Medicine's Descent From Healing to Killing. Two-time Emmy and three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald, interviewed Eric Anderson. He used his love for magic and marketing as a spokesperson to help Fortune 500 corporations sell over $3 billion worth of products. Eric became known as the "Magician with a Message" and authored books on Presentation, Marketing, and Mindset. As the Magician with a Message, Eric does not show people how amazing he is but instead shows YOU how amazing you can be and guides others to reach their goals and fulfill their dreams, starting exactly where they are right now. Company Description * As a seminars, consulting, and presentations company, I love teaching business owners how to use the power of paid speaking to grow their businesses. After doing thousands of speaking engagements for some of the world's most prominent organizations, I've created a simple, easy-to-follow system that anyone can succeed with, even if they're brand new to it. #BEST #STRAW #SHMSSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

If we believe there is no qualitative distinction between animals and humans, are we more likely to protect human life or devalue it? On this episode of ID The Future, host Eric Anderson talks to historian Dr. Richard Weikart about his latest book, Unnatural Death: Medicine's Descent From Healing to Killing, now available from Discovery Institute Press. The book is a wide-ranging history of euthanasia and assisted suicide from Ancient Greece to today. How did we get to the point we are at today, and how do we turn the tide to promote the sanctity of human life? Tune in to find out. Source
