But first we talk about his recent X-Vengers series set in the Age of Revelation , his book on mindfulness, Hulk Not Smash, and do a retrospective on his run writing the Dazzler series. Also in this episode: Dani Moonstar as Ted Lasso Which heroes were left out when assembling the X-Vengers Writing the Hellfire Gala during this moment in history Why you should never say you'll be home for dinner The unexplored trauma of having imaginary kids All this plus excellent advice from this excellent human/writer/artist on how to break into comics. What does any of this mean for Jason's career in the future? Tune in to find out! Jason Loo is an Eisner Award–winning cartoonist and comics creator based in Toronto, Canada. He recently wrote the words and songs for the Dazzler mini series, a four-issue mini-series celebrating Marvel's glittering mutant songstress as she hits the road in a globetrotting adventure. In addition to Dazzler and Werewolf By Night: Red Band line, and he penned The Undead Iron Fist, a limited series exploring the rebirth of Danny Rand and the Iron Fist legacy and also the X-Vengers, the totally bonkers fun Avengers story set in the Age of Revelation. Jason also illustrated Hulk Not Smash: Practicing Mindfulness the Mighty Marvel Way, bringing his distinctive visual storytelling to that playful and introspective take on mindfulness. His broader Marvel résumé includes The Sentry (Sentry: Legacy), contributions to Spider-Boy, Infinity Paws, Iron Fist 50th Anniversary Special, and anniversary homages like Howard the Duck 50th. Outside of Marvel, Jason is co-creator (with Chip Zdarsky) of The All-Nighter, a genre-bending comics series from Dark Horse that follows vampires doubling as heroes at an all-night diner, and he won his Eisner Award alongside Zdarsky for Afterlift. The Alternate Ending podcast was born on 3 January 2016, when the husband-and-wife team of Rob and Carrie Jarosinski shared their picks for the top 5 movies of all time. The site and the podcast have both seen a lot of changes since then, and we're taking this moment to look back over all the changes the decade has witnessed here at Alternate Ending, and in the wide world of movies overall. Such a special topic deserves a big sprawling all-star treatment, so Tim is joined by four other members of the Alternate Ending podcast family to take a walk down memory lane: Bride of Alternate Ending's Brennan Klein, Mandy Albert of Your Movie Rocks, Brian Fowler, and Cameron Shaw. Together, the crew talks about the site's history, our favorite moments from the podcast, and more, including Tim's review of the 2006 fantasy film Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses, by request of Patreon supporter Kyrie.

After thirty years, the mission is clearer than ever.In Part Three, the final episode of the Truehope 30th Anniversary Special, David Stephan, Vice President of Truehope Canada, sits down with his father, founder Anthony Stephan, for a candid reflection on the full scope of Truehope's journey and what it has taken to stay the course. This episode examines the long-term consequences of standing against powerful regulatory bodies, prolonged legal battles with Health Canada, and the broader forces shaping mental health care in Canada. Anthony and David discuss government overreach, systemic resistance, and the reality of challenging pharmaceutical-centric models while advocating for nutritional solutions that have helped hundreds of thousands of people. But this conversation is not rooted in bitterness. It is forward-looking.Together, they reflect on what they've learned, the responsibility that comes with helping so many, and why Truehope's commitment to providing accessible, effective nutritional support remains unwavering despite decades of opposition. This is a conversation about purpose.About accountability. And about the future of mental health.Part Three focuses on the mission. The lessons learned. The road ahead. And why Truehope continues.

As thousands of lives began to change, the resistance began. In Part Two of the Truehope 30th Anniversary Special, founder Anthony Stephan and his son David Stephan, Vice President of Truehope Canada, take listeners into the most turbulent chapter of Truehope's history. This episode explores the rise of EMPower Plus, a groundbreaking multi-nutrient formula that helped thousands of people experiencing serious mental health challenges and the intense opposition that followed. As awareness grew, so did scrutiny, culminating in prolonged legal battles with Health Canada and repeated attempts to remove the product from public access, despite mounting evidence and firsthand outcomes.Anthony and David recount years spent defending the right to nutritional choice, navigating courtrooms instead of laboratories, and enduring the personal and professional toll of standing against powerful regulatory systems. This is a story about resilience under pressure.About what happens when lived experience collides with institutional authority. And why the fight to protect access mattered far beyond one company.Part Two focuses on the conflict. The pushback. The legal battles. And the cost of challenging the system.

Thirty years ago, one family's struggle with severe mental illness set in motion a discovery that would challenge conventional thinking about mental health forever. In Part One of this three-part anniversary series, Truehope founder Anthony Stephan sits down with his son, David Stephan, Vice President of Truehope Canada, to tell the deeply personal story behind Truehope's beginnings. This episode explores the Stephan family's experience with conditions such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, the desperation for answers, the failure of existing approaches, and the unexpected nutritional breakthrough in the 1990s that changed their lives. What began as an effort to help family members heal would ultimately grow into Truehope, an organization that has since supported hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. This is not a clinical discussion or a polished success story. It is a raw, honest account of crisis, discovery, faith, and hope and the foundation upon which everything that followed was built.Part One focuses on the origin story. The problem. The breakthrough. And the moment everything changed.

Bach's music turns up everywhere from cigar ads to horror films. You can probably hum bits of Bach even if you're not a classical fan. But what makes his music so popular and why is he still so influential 300 years on? To celebrate The Bach Choir's 150th Anniversary, we've made three special episodes all about Bach and his best-known compositions. This time our host and Musical Director, David Hill, is joined by BBC Radio 3's Linton Stephens to talk about six of Bach's most famous pieces. Along the way they tackle musical taboos (why can't most classical musicians improvise?), classical music wrangles (did Bach actually write the Toccata and Fugue?), and great stories (why did Bach once threaten a bassoonist with a sword?). Plus, we hear from some of our friends - including superstar organist and broadcaster Anna Lapwood - about their favourite Bach pieces.Want to see the video version of this podcast? When Jacke started the podcast in 2015, he decided to privilege books that were at least fifty years old. (Longtime listeners will know he's made a few exceptions, but for the most part, that's been the policy.) Last month, the History of Literature Podcast celebrated its tenth anniversary - which means there are ten years' worth of books that are eligible now that weren't when he began. In this day-before-Thanksgiving episode, Jacke talks to regular guests Mike Palindrome and Laurie Frankel about Thanksgiving plans, Laurie's forthcoming novel Enormous Wings, Mike's Bluesky reading-together projects, and the literature that came out in the years 1965-1975. PLUS Jacke gives thanks for ten years of listener support, AND Eve Dunbar (Monstrous Work and Radical Satisfaction: Black Women Writing Under Segregation) stops by to discuss her choice for the last book she will ever read. Join Jacke on a trip through literary England (signup closing soon)! The History of Literature Podcast Tour is happening in May 2026! Act now to join Jacke and fellow literature fans on an eight-day journey through literary England in partnership with John Shors Travel. Scheduled stops include The Charles Dickens Museum, Dr. Johnson's house, Jane Austen's Bath, Tolkien's Oxford, Shakespeare's Globe Theater, and more. This week on The Kibbe and Friends Show, we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of what we proudly call the greatest car movie ever made — Tommy Boy. With the release of the new 4K edition and the incredible restoration of an original movie car by director Peter Segal (now appearing at MCACN 2025), we knew it was time to bring this one back in a big way. The guys dig into fresh stories, behind-the-scenes moments, and long-lost trivia before re-running their original Tommy Boy review from Episode 126. From Bernie's legendary news and weather segments to Corndog's next-level Mopar knowledge, this is pure K&F gold. If you love road-trip movies, odd-couple comedy, and classic muscle cars, this episode is required listening. At the same time, the K&F family has kicked off their annual Toys for Tots fundraiser through Patreon, and the momentum is already strong. The goal is to get funds in the hands of Toys for Tots in time to make a real impact this Christmas, helping kids and families who need it most. Listener support continues to amaze us, with members upgrading memberships and stepping up in a big way. If the show has ever made you laugh, helped you escape reality for a bit, or made you love cars even more — this is your chance to give back alongside us and help create real Christmas morning magic for families who truly need it. The post K&F Show #346: Christmas Lights from Space, MCACN, and the Car Movie Review: Tommy Boy 30th Anniversary Special! first appeared on The Muscle Car Place.
Pop 3:Kris Jenner's 70th birthday was a James Bond–themed spectacle at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's mansion with guests like Oprah, Adele, and even the Sussexes. But when Kim and Kris deleted their photos with Meghan and Harry, the royal drama kicked in fast. Meanwhile, Love Island: Beyond the Villa gets a second shot (somehow), and The Traitors returns January 8 with Lisa Rinna promising to “play like no one ever has before.” Deep Dive:The DWTS 20th Anniversary special was pure magic from the moment Tom Bergeron stepped through that fog. Robert Irwin's emotional foxtrot honoring his dad left everyone in tears and earned the first perfect score of the season. Dylan Efron and Alix Earle both had standout nights, while Whitney's Cell Block Tango proved she's a true star. Andy's elimination was the right call — it's time for the semifinals! Final Thoughts:The Selling Sunset reunion was a mess. Chrishell subsequently quit, saying the show wasn't worth her peace of mind or mental health anymore. Her fallout with Emma over Emma's boyfriend Blake got ugly fast, but the two seem done for good. *Shop MPT Merch* ► https://shop.hurrdatmedia.com/collections/morgans-pop-talks *Listen to the podcast* ► https://hurrdatmedia.com/network/show/morgans-pop-talks/ *Join my Patreon* for exclusive minisodes each week! ► http://www.patreon.com/morganspoptalks for exclusive minisodes each week! *Subscribe to my weekly newsletter* for reminders, important links, and additional surprises! ► https://www.morganptalks.com/ *About Morgan's Pop Talks* Welcome to Morgan's Pop Talks – your weekly VIP pass into the world of reality TV and pop culture! Ten years ago, on October 26, 2015, something special began in Japan. While working at the University of Tokyo, I launched the first episode of the FreshEd podcast, marking the start of what would become a cornerstone of conversations in comparative and international education. Over the past decade, FreshEd has grown into a global platform – far larger than I ever imaged -- connecting listeners interested in education, equity, and social change. We've made over 400 episodes in that time. We've counted 200 universities that use our content and we have listeners, like you, in over 180 countries. To celebrate our anniversary, we held a live event at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan as part of the 2025 International Education Development Forum. I've like to thank Dr. Jing Liu for co-organizing this event. Joining me on stage were Professors Iveta Silova and Yuto Kitamura, who are both board members of FreshEd. In our conversation, we take you behind the scenes of FreshEd's development and reflect on what the podcast means for the wider field specifically and higher education generally. On a personal note, Iveta and Yuto are both mentors who have shaped my own career as an academic. So today we'll air the conversation we had in Tohoku on October 18. I hope you enjoy the show and here's to the second decade of FreshEd. https://freshedpodcast.com/10years/ -- Get in touch! Twitter: @FreshEdpodcast Facebook: FreshEd Email: info@freshedpodcast.com

This Halloween marks 10 years of stories from Rod and Steve; to mark the holiday and our tenth anniversary, we're going to take you deep into the dark side of Appalachia with two chilling tales from southwest Virginia. First, Steve tells the story of three strange sisters who ran girls' schools in Murfreesboro and Christiansburg—women whispered to be linked to evil spirits and who eventually faced justice for a terrible crime. Some say their spirits still haunt the ground where their school stood in Christiansburg over a hundred years ago. Then, Rod shares the legend of two cunning sisters from Scott County, whose greed and cruelty led to a savage end. Their ghosts are said to still haunt the cemetery where they were denied burial.Be sure to subscribe for more Stories of Appalachia.Happy Halloween, y'all!
