In honor of my 40th anniversary with WGTD (my first day at the station was May 27, 1986), I'm replaying some noteworthy Morning Show interviews from the past. This interview with Oscar and Tony Award-winning actor Alan Arkin is one of the richest conversations I ever had with someone from the world of entertainment. The occasion of this interview was the publication of his memoir "Alan Arkin: An Improvised Life" in 2011.

In honor of my 40th anniversary at WGTD (my first day with the station was May 27, 1986) I have been replaying some noteworthy Morning Show interviews from the past. For this seventh and final day in this special series, I have chosen this interview from 2002 with Richard Blow, former editor of GEORGE magazine and a friend of John F. Kennedy Jr. Blow's book "American Son" is an illuminating portrait of JFK Jr. from someone who knew him well and also worked side by side with him. At one point during the interview, Blow paid me a rather lavish compliment- and that was a powerful moment for me because it gave me a new sense of confidence about doing this challenging work. I've received a few more compliments in the years since, but this one is the sweetest of all because it was the first.

In honor of my 40th anniversary with WGTD (my first day was May 27, 1986) we are replaying some noteworthy Morning Shows from the past this week. This is among the most menorable of the thousands of author interviews I have done over the past several decades .... with Buzz Bissinger, talking about his blockbuster bestseller FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, one of the best books about high school football ever written.

In honor of my 40th anniversary with. WGTD (my first day with the station was May 27, 1986)., I'm replaying some noteworthy Morning Show interviews from the past. I wanted to include one example of the rather rare interviews that were recorded away from our studios. I've chosen a interview I recorded back in 2008 in the home of theater organ afficionado Fred Hermes- who converted the basement of his home into a facsimile of a classic movie palace, complete with a 5-manual Wurlitzer Theater Organ.

This interview aired in 2006 to celebrate my 20th anniversary with the station. It was the idea of Mick Burke, who then was a reporter with the Racine Journal Times as well as a faithful Morning Show listener, for him to come to our studios and interview me about my work at the station. This is most of the interview. (I hope at some point I can track down the rest of it so the interview can be shared in its entirety.).
