This week Clint and Dawson sit down with Sean Blanton. Sean is the owner/founder of Run Bum Races. In 16 years Sean has run over 300 ultra runs. Sean's company Run Bum hosts some of the most scenic, iconic, destination ultras/events in the country. Check out his events here. https://www.runbumtours.com . Sean is a true steward of the forest and while he is always giving back to the Parks and public lands he runs his events on, he also can be found out in the forest clearing and cutting down trees on trail systems he simply enjoys. Not to boast but I asked him how many hours he spends boots on the ground volunteering in the forest and the answer was around 300 hours with tools in hand. Bravo to Sean. He also holds the FKT for the Florida Trail which is 1108 miles. He is a paraglider, skydiver and speed flyer. He is the host of the Bend dont break podcast. Thanks for listening! https://youtu.be/NTsWsp5L50U Lift Heavy Run Long® #184 was operating at almost full capacity. I encountered yet another audio hiccup in exchange for the betterment in some other areas. Big Thirsty cannot be heard for the first 5 minutes or so and for this, I am eternally apologetic. On episode 184: Von got an exciting new job offer working as a senior analyst! Amanda is giving away Lift Heavy Run Long M&M's in exchange for a St. Jude donation and accurately guessing how many M&M's are in the jar. I breed support life through my pandemic pajamas and discover a cocoon that has attached itself to my pants leg. Thirsty gets paid to be a dickhead. Sean "Run Bum" Blanton doesn't get paid to be a dickhead but some people clearly view him to be one. Westworld is too scary. Valdamoor is a hottie. There is a tee-shirt with Gary F-ing Owens on it which was created to raise money for his impending Covid death which he lived through. Now I need a shirt.

***Please note before listening that cannabis is thoroughly discussed in this episode. If that doesn't strike your fancy, please skip this one*** We’re joined in the kitchen by ultra runners Avery Collins and Devon Olson. Kelly P hangs out to drop some knowledge, and why not add Ryan Lassen and Eric Edgerton in for some fun too! Mad props to Avery for winning the Georgia Death Race last week! This is a gnarly “68-ish” mile race put on by Run Bum, and by winning Avery scored a chance to toe the line at the big one, Western States 100. You can probably guess what we spend a lot of time talking about… And like any #KitchenSesh this is more about hanging out, chatting, and having fun than it is a scripted show. Shout out to Avery’s sponsor’s: While Mary's Medicinals and The Farm Co. were talked about the most, in addition to cannibas sponsors Avery also has… an underwear sponsor!? Saxxunderwear. And of course actual running biz sponsors too inov-8 All Terrain RunningHoney Stinger and Farm To Feet. Also props to Devon for a top 10 finish at Behind The Rocks! How’d it go against those Salomon Runners
First up, I welcome Sean "Run Bum" Blanton back to the show. Sean is an ultra runner who puts on races with what I like to call "OCR Spirit". He is back to talk about two races he just race directed:The Georgia Death Race and The Yeti Nightmare, and talk about how they went. Next, I will play my interview with "Start Line" Sean Corvelle. He is the man who leads everyone through the hype andTough Mudder Pledge before every heat. You will hear what he did during my first Tough Mudder that turned me into a Sean Corvelle fan. Finally, I will play an interview I did a few months ago with Dane Rauschenberg. Dane has run a ton of marathons, written two books, and has done very well on the speaking at marathon expo circuit. Along the way he has had a lot of distractors. One even went as far as to create a website disparaging his efforts. I was really curious to find out more about him.
