The children are in the service today, so we are going to do a combined continuation of our series on the gifts with something that will also appeal to their interests. We are going to look at the full story of an encounter between a woman and Elisha that involved both a gift of healing and miracles. We haven’t looked at this full narrative in 2 Kings 4 for about 6 years, but we have referred to a few parts of it in recent weeks. Do you know the difference between the working of miracles and a gift of healing in operation? When is a healing seen as a miracle? Is it better to work in the gift of the working of miracles instead of the gifts of healings?

There was a great woman, which we can assumed she was wealthy. She chose to bless the man of God. They built him a prophets chamber. A place where he had to be at home after his long journeys. She wasn't doing this for anything for herself, she was truly doing this for God. She did, however, desire a child. Elisha told her she would have one, and she did have a son. We see first the carnality of the servant. There was something going on that shouldn't have been. If we are going to live for the glory of God, the devil is not going to sit back and let that happen. In faith in Him, ultimately, it shall be well. In the end, it will be well, and if it's not well, then it's not the end yet. Civility of the sent. There was no civility. Doing the work of God is first and foremost, paramount. Even if you end up offending someone with the truth. We speak the truth in love. We are to love our enemies as ourselves. People need to know that if they were to die without Christ, they will spend eternity separated from them. The certainty of the salvation. Are we giving our loved ones who are dead in their sins, God's word.

When a Shunnamite woman's son tragically dies, she displays an amazing peace and hope as she says it is well with me and my son. She had a hope of eternal life that gave her an amazing peace even in the midst of an unimaginable tragedy. This woman, and Horatio Spafford the author of the hymn, It is Well with My Soul, show us that God can give a peace that passes all understanding during tragedy. When we have the correct perspective of our loved ones eternal state, when we know their soul is at rest in Christ, we can say also it is well with my soul.

This message tells the story of the only woman in the Bible described as a great woman.
