Submit here.Wheel Appeal Lorrie Kummeth of Maple Grove has been attending the Minnesota Pottery Festival in Hutchinson for the last five years and says it's always a fun event. The festival runs Saturday, July 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Masonic West River Park in Hutchinson. She notes the area is flat and accessible with easy parking. Artists will be selling pottery at a range of price points. Kummeth also recommends watching the demonstrations: "They do pottery throwdowns: Four or five potters up on their wheels, and they have to produce a specific item or a quantity of items,” said Kummeth. “I know this year there are also a couple of raku demonstrations. They're very dramatic. [The pottery] actually is put into fire, and that is part of what creates the colorations, like iridescent blues, blacks, burgundies. The potter doesn't know what the final glazing will look like until it's done firing." Hotdish and Hijinks Twin Cities actress and singer Jen Maren suggests seeing "A Second Helping: A Church Basement Ladies Sequel." This musical comedy is the second of nine shows in the series, set in a rural Minnesota church basement in 1969. The show runs through Aug. 9 at the Plymouth Playhouse in Plymouth. Maren says to expect laughs, hotdish and dancing from veteran comedians Greta Grosch (who also wrote the show), Dorian Chalmers and Janet Paone: "These three women know these characters so well,” said Maren. “They're in their 21st year of running these shows, so it's a great chance to go see some great comedians at work." A Wider View of Winona Michael William Doyle is a poet, musician and historian living in Winona. He appreciates the way photographer Mary Farrell captures the landscapes and architecture of his beloved town in her exhibit, "Wide Angle Winona: A Panoramic View," on view at the Winona County History Center through Sept. 13. "Mary decided to try to show us the horizontality of our community with its tree-covered bluffs, and the islands, and the historic built environment: the last remaining boathouse community on the entire length of the Mississippi River; the Wagon Bridge where many of them are moored near Latsch Island; the port of Winona [and more]. Because she's lived here for so long, she knows exactly where to go at what time of day to capture the way the light falls on this distinctive area," said Doyle.

He's a Maple Grove resident who lives in the Evanswood neighborhood, which includes more than 200 homes with prices advertised from $600,000 to more than $1 million. Sinople and several others in Evanswood who reached out to Alpha News are concerned about ties to potential fraud. They say there are dozens of businesses—from group homes, to daycares, to foster homes—that can be traced to Somali homeowners. “Members of the East African community started to open up to me about what exactly was occurring and started to describe these plans … and how they would be able to make $10,000 to $24,000 a month per person for setting up these group homes,” said Sinople. “Then I started to receive offers that if I would purchase homes in the community under my name, they would be sponsoring these types of housing stabilization programs at these houses,” he added.Support the show

LUKE 7:36-50 Pastor Joseph leads worship and preaches about Jesus dinner at the home of Simon the Pharisee. Jesus accepted an invitation to dine at the home of Simon the Pharisee. During the meal, a woman known for her sinful life came to Jesus, wept at His feet, wiped them with her hair, kissed them, and anointed them with expensive perfume. Simon silently judged both the woman and Jesus, but Jesus responded with a parable about two forgiven debtors, teaching that those who have been forgiven much love much. He contrasted the woman's humble devotion with Simon's lack of hospitality, forgave the woman's sins, and declared, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” The account demonstrates that salvation comes through faith, genuine repentance, and God's grace—not through self-righteousness.

As Minnesotans were waking up to the news of the attacks on state Rep. Melissa Hortman and state Sen. John Hoffman on June 14, 2025, some of the state's political leaders were also learning they might have been targeted. Authorities say they found writings by the gunman that included the names of dozens of politicians. ANTI-ICE ACTIVISTS CONTINUE TO DEVELOP INTELLIGENCE NETWORKS IN MAINE, AS DIRECTED BY THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------HomeFront-Minnesota: Riots continued overnight as activists remained steady in the targeting of Minneapolis hotels suspected of hosting ICE agents. Last night, the SpringHill Suites in Maple Grove was targeted due to suspicions that senior Border Patrol leadership was staying at the location. At this hotel, rioters gathered at the main entrance and attempted to breach the facility, however the state of unrest was quickly put down by Maple Grove Police who turned out in force.Analyst Comment: Maple Grove is technically not within the City Limits of Minneapolis, and therefore has a different Mayor. The Minneapolis Police Department was not involved in this crowd control effort whatsoever, as it fell outside of their jurisdiction. Most of the officers who responded were from the Maple Grove Police Department and supplemented by State Police. As such, this particular response is very likely not correlated with any change in policy within the city of Minneapolis itself.Maine: Anti-ICE demonstrations continue as before, as local government officials begin entrenching resistance measures. Attorney General Aaron Frey has established a state-sponsored informant tipline for the purposes of tracking ICE agents, which coordinates intelligence reports regarding the activities of ICE agents throughout the state. Residents of Maine can email in reports of ICE sightings, and other intelligence reports directly to the Attorney General's office.Arizona: Yesterday afternoon, multiple sites throughout the state were raided by Homeland Security investigators, and most of the targeted sites were Zipp's Sports Grill establishments. At the time of the raids (which targeted about 15x sites around the state) the reason for the raids was not known. However ICEWatch spotters, seeing green uniforms, assumed this was some sort of immigration policing effort. However, this appears to pertain to a different investigation concerning a large-scale criminal enterprise involving drugs, identity theft, fraud, and other crimes.Analyst Comment: Activist intelligence networks still showed up suspiciously quickly to the scene of all raids, turning out in numbers to carry out disruption operations for what they thought was an immigration enforcement operation. ICE personnel were observed on scene at a few sites to arrest any illegals that were incidentally discovered during the raids, and they were harassed by the mob as the operation was ongoing.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: On the political front in Minneapolis, several developments are underway, which will affect the situation on the ground. Following President Trump's phone call with Gov. Walz yesterday afternoon, rumors have been circulating widely regarding what the next steps are in this campaign. Whispers of everything from an abandonment of the mission, to key personnel shifts circulated yesterday evening, most of which have been hard to verify and probably mostly false. However, based on President Trumps verbatim statements, the general atmospherics are a de-escalation from the Federal side, while no similar de-escalation has been given in return amongst activist groups that are openly being run by government officials personally.When it comes to civil unrest, perception is reality, and if these moves are perceived (by the rioters) as being a capitulation, this will embolden resistance within the city. Far-left groups do not care about 4D chess; they see a *perceived* weakness (regardless of if it's a true weakness), and they will double-down to target it.
