Sunday Morning Services
If you have had situations in your life that you have overcome through faith in God's word before for similar situations (finances, heath, etc.), but now what you are facing seems to be beating you, make sure you tune in to the service today. We will be looking at the disciples who had this very thing happen to them, and Jesus taught them how to overcome it. Also, when Jesus says “O faithless generation” who is He speaking to? If the disciples, they were speaking to this situation to change it, and those who brought the boy came with some kind of expectation for a miracle, so who is faithless?

Can our sin be the cause of an affliction we can't seem to get freed from? That's a question Jesus answers in John 9. Many people, just like in Jesus' day, saw sickness, affliction, and such trouble as being caused by sin, and the disciples asked Jesus about this with the man born blind. Jesus gives a clear answer for the question, and we also see the tremendous growth and change in a man who went from not knowing much about Jesus, to becoming timid and afraid to stand up for him but finishing with boldness in the face of adversity and a great receiver of the truth Jesus spoke.

Why did the blind man of Bethsaida need Jesus to lay His hands on his blind eyes twice before he could see clearly? No other time did Jesus lay hands upon or touch a person needing healing more than once. There must be a reason, right? In this service we look at this healing encounter to understand what we are to learn as it is told to us in Mark 8:22-26.

There is a difference between begging for something from God and receiving it through faith, and this healing encounter Jesus has with the Deaf man from Decapolis helps us to see the difference in our own lives. Our flesh doesn’t receive on faith principles, but by presumptions of its own devising resorts to things like begging. The compulsion to beg arises when we leave word-based hope for another kind of hope, putting faith in something other than God’s word.

The ingredients of great faith can be found in this healing encounter. The woman is unacknowledged in her request but is not deterred. Great faith is faith that endures and continues.

Can you be healed when your life is not in obedience to the things the Holy Spirit or God's word has spoken to you about? Many believers wonder "How can God heal me if I'm still not doing what He spoke to me about?" Looking at this healing encounter with the two blind men we look to answer this question. There is also a healing of a mute man caused by a demon spirit that follows.

How can a man like him become demon possessed? Is it something that can just happen or are there things we do that open the door? Our children are exposed to spiritual things both good and bad away from the home. Questions can arise and if they do not know what the word teaches on these things, fear can find a place. There is no reason to fear demons or the forces of darkness, but there are cautions the word teaches us to have. This is one of several things we will be looking at from the healing encounter in Mark 5:1-20.

How does Jesus step in uninvited to raise a dead man to life? He has no relationship with the man or his mother. He was not asked to intervene, yet He comes on the scene and interrupts a perfectly good funeral.

On our Journey to our faith’s goal, things will suddenly come at you that you didn’t anticipate. We learn from this healing encounter how Jesus help Jairus not lose the faith goal he set out to receive, in the healing of his daughter. These will help us not lose our faith goal!

Some people just love to deliver bad news, and do it like they are doing you a favor! Others love to spread doubt and unbelief like it’s a higher walk of the Spirit or a more grounded understanding of faith. What is a person who is looking to believe God for their miracle to do with such people in their life? Our emotions can get involved and tells us things to say, but it is better that we follow the character the Bible teaches instead of the reaction our flesh wants to promote. Also, Peter and the disciples thought they had great faith to stand up to the threats Jesus said were coming, but Jesus knew they were not. Are you in a position of faith or a position of doubt? Can we even know?

Can the bad attitude of people around me stop the power of God working for me? You might be around people who doubt God and His word, or maybe have people in your family, even your home who have a hostile attitude to the things of God. We are aware that the condition of their heart affects the people and the atmosphere around them, as well as the people they come in contact with. Is it possible that this attitude of theirs and it’s presence around me is hindering the power of God from working on me? Do I need to do as Abraham did when God commanded him and have separation? Also, what is legal to do on a Sabbath? Will someone else’s rules/laws alter your obedience to the word of God?

Can the faith of those around you help you in your faith battle? Is your healing dependant on you having the faith for it? We’ve looked at those whose faith was the reason healing came (and more are to come) but what if you are not there yet. What influence or help can the people around us be in obtaining the healing or miracle we need.

When you need a big miracle in your life, does that mean your faith is small? Do we get into situations of needing miracles because our faith was inadequate in some way? The healing encounter with Jesus we take on this Sunday (tomorrow) answers this question as well as why do so many believers receive miracles but don’t become any more than needy Christians, going from one great need to another?

This is the first recorded healing of someone with leprosy in the Bible. How did the man have faith for it and what keeps him from being healed if he has faith to believe? This man did receive a great supernatural healing that changed him outwardly, but it didn't change inwardly.

How did Jesus bring about change. There are several healing miracles in Luke 4 but all show us how Jesus demonstarted and taught us to bring about the change we need.

In this first encounter we have a man who was lame for a very long time and seemed to be seeking divine healing. We will look at what this man was under to keep him lame, how he got out from it, and what may have happened after he was healed. This story will teach us three main things: How to get what you need, what is keeping you from it, and what may cause you to lose your healing after you obtained it.

Did Jesus teach us to continually ask in prayer until we get an answer and receive what we ask for? In Luke 18 we take on our final parable in this series with the widow who came to the judge and wouldn’t back stop asking until she received what she asked for. Jesus taught that parable “that men always ought to pray and not lose heart” (Luke 18:1) So where and how does persistence fit in with our prayers and why does Jesus end this parable with “Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

Why would God put so many resources in leaders, money, and material to build a wall around Jerusalem if He really didn’t need such a natural barrier to protect it? Tonight we see the answer to this question and also see a change in how Nehemiah pursues the call of God from his beginning in chapter 1 of copying what worked for others. He inspires the people who become accustomed to a status quo to rise up and change it. There is so much we get to cover in these remaining verses of Nehemiah 2 (verses 11-20); much more than I can post here! Some include what should you share with other people about what God has put in your spirit to do? How do you go about getting started?

Are we taught by Jesus parable to keep pestering or asking God for what we need until He finally comes around and grants us our prayer? Well a wrong understanding of scripture will lead to a wrong application and will find us following after wrong teaching. As we look at the the friend who comes at midnight to ask bread we will look to see what is Jesus teaching us to do in prayer.

The Parable of the Talents is in Jesus' teaching on end times. We will look at why that is and the progression from the Parables of the workers in the vineyard, the Minas, and this one. We also show you how you can find out what your gift from the Lord is.

All of us have people around who go through life less prepared than you are. They ask for help and many times we give it to them even when we feel like we shouldn’t, it won’t really help them, or we just do not want to. Is it always Godly to help? There are lots of opinions on this, but let’s see what the word of God teaches us as we study the words and teachings of Jesus.

Are you a servant in God’s kingdom or a citizen? In the parable of the minas there are three groups of people mentioned; citizens, unfaithful servants, and faithful servants. How can we know which group we are in? There are two parables towards the end of Jesus ministry that seem very similar. The first we take on here in the Minas, and the second will be next week in the Talents. The differences are important!

In many of Jesus’ parables we see attitudes on display, and most are bad. We might take from this that bad attitudes will hurt you more than good attitudes can help you. In Matthew’s parable of the vineyard workers, only the bad attitudes are spotlighted and the harm they did. In the prodigal son, we only see the bad attitude of the older son, or in the parable of the wood plank it’s a bad attitude toward those around us who have faults. Then there is the unforgiving servant’s bad attitude toward those who owed him money, and the Good Samaritan parable had the attitudes of the priest and Levite stirring them to offer no help. Since so many of the parables were taught because of the bad attitudes of the religious leaders it is of no surprise that such light is put on this state of mind. In these parables the one who had the bad attitude didn’t think it was a bad attitude or even a problem, but in the end, we see that it brought great loss to them. So how can we change these attitudes before they take us down with them?

One of the most profound traits of the grace of God will likely shock you! We learn of it in many places in the Bible, but this Sunday we see it in the parable of the Workers in the Vineyard. There are lessons here that will greatly impact our faith walk, and how we believe in and for what God has promised us. We also look at expectations and attitudes seeing how all these affect our faith. In the end we will understand what may be a shocking conclusion to this parable, and one that will profoundly help your Christian walk become all that you hoped it would be.

Does Jesus teach us to be shrewd in business and that it’s okay to even cheat our boss at work to accomplish a greater good? The parable of the unjust steward in Luke 16 has left many people puzzled by the meaning so many have taken from it, but is this what Jesus is teaching? What the steward does in changing what the rich man’s debtors owe him seems dishonest at best. Why does Jesus speak this parable and is there a meaning apart from what seems obvious? As we have come to know parables were Jesus’ way of teaching a principle without it being readily understood and thus criticized by His critics, so this Sunday we will take on this parable as well as the rich man and Lazarus parable that follows, to understand what Jesus was teaching us.
