Nehemiah's example shows that praying is key and planning is prudent. He also knew that he would need the people of God to accomplish the will of God. He wasn't riding in to be the savior, but to work alongside them. The rebuilding work would invovle physical labor, and as the people were rebuilding the walls, they'd also be tearing down shame and fear. Even now in our own lives, God’s rebuilding work often involves physical action, but it always involves spiritual action. The success of their work would not be because of king Artaxerxes’ permission and authority to rebuild, but because of God’s authority. Challenge: Positive progression forward is always accompanied by hard work. Encouragement: You’re not alone in the work.

Sometimes even with our eye wide open we can't see. Perhaps you can't see the rubble in your life because you have grown too accustomed to it.
Destination HD: The future is a gift from God but destination has a lot to do with choice. Everyone has a vision whether noble or ignoble, positive or negative but for the Christian vision is God’s direction, dream, purpose, will for our lives. Moses, David, Nehemiah, Peter, Paul, all lived out God’s vision for their lives, they dreamed in high def. When we discern God’s vision for our lives it truly is Destination in High Def!
Working together is never an easy task. Sometimes you get extra help, sometimes none at all. How do we handle those situations so we can succeeed together? Find out in our third sermon in the book of Nehemiah.
