3rd Stage Astrology is a soul based system of astrology developed by Taina Ketola. The basis for 3rd Stage Astrology is the concept that our Sun sign indicates our path of soul development over many lifetimes. Each sign has three stages of development, each with a different personality type and ev…
Third Stage Astrology is a unique system with a spiritual view of the soul that covers many lifetimes. This brings up a lot of larger questions. Katya and Taina discuss many of these in this episode.
This segment discusses the combination of Sun in Libra and the Moon's North Node in the sign of Capricorn. Your Sun sign represents your long term path of spiritual development and the Moon's North and South Nodes describe the patterns you are stepping away from as well as the most positive path for your soul to take in order to move forward. Understanding how your Moon's Nodes relate to the three stages of your Sun sign can be very helpful in moving towards greater life fulfillment and understanding. This is a requested Sun and North Node combination. With requested combinations we also discuss the house position of the Moon's Nodes, which in this case is The North Node in the 7th house, South Node in the 1st.
This is the promised Leo Sun - Aries North Node P.S. We had this combination requested and always include information about the house position for the person the video was requested for. Because the Leo Sun - Aries North Node episode was actually created back in the mists of tim before the request was made, we created this P.S. to talk about what this combination means when the Aries North Node is in the 3rd house.
In this semi-autobiographical episode Taina and Katya discuss how Third Stage Astrology came to be. Super hero doll conspicuously absent.
This is the first in our series of interviews with people in the 3rd Stage of their Sun sign. Taina talks to Michael Domitrovich about his journey through 2nd/3rd stage Scorpio and into 3rd stage Scorpio and other interesting journeys as well...
Video ten in the beginner's astrology series. Join Sarah as she continues to learn how to interpret the aspects between the planets in the chart. There is a strong tendency these days to want to go online and look up the meaning of the aspects in your chart. "Hmmm... I have Venus trine Mars and Saturn square Mercury. Let's see what that means." The problem with this is that to truly understand what that means you have to interpret the aspect as it occurs in your, or any other individual's own unique chart. To do this it is important to get a feel for the basics so that you know them the way an artist knows their colours. Then you can view the planets more like living beings and explore the meaning of your aspects in a unique "real time" kind of way. A cookie cutter approach to figuring out your chart will give you a long list of contradictory personality traits but it won't make your soul come alive to you. This video also includes an explanation of why Taina finds the Koch house system the most accurate system for use with 3rd Stage Astrology.
This segment discusses the combination of Sun in Leo and the Moon's North Node in the sign of Aries.
This episode of third stage astrology was created in response to a request to describe the difference between an individual's own personal akashic record and the universal akashic records. To do this we first have to answer the following question: What exactly are the akashic records anyway?
This segment discusses the combination of Sun in Cancer and the Moon's North Node in the sign of Aries.
This segment of 3rd Stage Astrology discusses the dynamics of romantic relationships between Aries and Scorpio in all three stages of each sign. All combinations are covered, from first stage power couple, to second stage powerless couple, to the miracle worker and disciplined expert in third stage and everything in between.
This segment discusses the combination of Sun in Gemini and the Moon's North Node in the sign of Aries.
Taina and her advanced astrology student Isobel discuss the types of Leos that can break your heart (and yes, there are several different types of Leo heartbreakers). Find out if you should still love 'em or if you should turn around and leave 'em, as well as how to deal with certain difficulties that are actually not as bad as they may seem. Because Isobel is herself a Leo she brings a unique perspective to this episode.
Taina Ketola and Sarah Kotz discuss the current Corona virus situation from an astrological and practical perspective. What's really happening and why. Just remember folks, we don't need to panic, and toilet paper does not protect us from the Corona virus.
This segment of 3rd Stage Astrology discusses the dynamics of romantic relationships between Sagittarius and Capricorn in all three stages of each sign. One combination was accidentally left out. This occurs when two second stage individuals come together with the Sagittarian strongly upholding the traditional values of their society Sagittarius often marries the conformist Capricorn believing that he or she feels the same way. Sagittarius later becomes disillusioned to discover that Capricorn habitually ignores their own ethical promptings. The tension between these two can result in Sagittarius (and more rarely Capricorn) entering into the second/third stage transition. The relationship represents an opportunity to move forward in one's awareness or deepen the entrapment of second stage.
The Sun sign Aries has three stages of development that progress over a long series of lifetimes. At a certain point in that long series of lifetimes, the first stage Aries individual often takes an action that (usually unintentionally) harms someone they love. For Aries this even occurs because it is time to let go of the hectic rush to develop an ego. In this episode Taina talks to Carson Green about his experience with an accident that was his fault. As we talk it becomes apparent that due to how his character and nature had expressed itself before the event and how his chart is configured, this trauma for him was a replay of the original first/second stage Aries trauma. We also look at the astrological timing of the accident which is quite significant in terms of what was going on in Carson's chart at the time.
Taina describes the Moon's North Node as representing a person's positive future spiritual direction in life. The South Node describes an individual's karmic past trailing behind, often indicating challenging traits we are here to release, sometimes revealing old gems. Because the three stages of the Sun sign also describe a path of development lasting many lifetimes, the Sun sign and the Moon's Nodes are intimately connected in illuminating this process. In this episode Taina Ketola and Katya Slivinskaya discuss Sun in Leo and the North Node in Aquarius, with bonus information about how this combination would express itself when the North Node is in the 10th house.

This episode discusses the three major dimensions of human sexuality; sexual preference, monogamy vs. polyamory and gender identity. There is a little bit of astrologese in this discussion, but in general these traits often tend to be independent of astrology, but are still useful for the astrologer and student of human evolution to understand.
This episode explains an older and lesser known system of 36 year cycles within the greater astrological ages (i. e. the age of Pisces, the age of Aquarius, and so on). Each cycle is ruled by a specific combination of an astrological sign and planet. Important sociological trends and changes correspond to the symbolism governing these cycles. And... we recently started a new cycle in 2017. "What's it all mean...?
This episode discusses the combination of Sun in Taurus and the Moon's North Node in the sign of Aries. Your Sun sign represents your long term path of spiritual development and the Moon's North and South Nodes describe the patterns you are stepping away from as well as the most positive path for your soul to take in order to move forward. This episode of 3rd Stage Astrology is about romantic relationships between Libras and Scorpios in all combinations of the three stages of these signs. Conventional astrology books tend to say that certain signs are good together while others are bad together. I'll let you in on a secret - this is an idea mainly designed just to sell books. The biggest key to compatibility is the stage of the sign of each partner in the relationship. Even the aspects between the two charts really say more about the issues the couple will deal with together. It is only when there are too many stressful aspects between the charts (or occasionally none at all, causing boredom) that aspects can truly speak to basic compatibility or incompatibility. This is our second episode in a series covering all the combinations of the signs. As things progress we'll be producing them in order of request, so make you requests on our Facebook page.

Everyone seems to make such a big deal out of Mercury retrograde, but I've always found that eclipses seem to express a lot more of the drama in our lives. In this episode we discuss what really happens during, before and after solar and lunar eclipses.
Is your heart being broken by a Libra? This is the fifth episode in our heartbreaker series. It is ironic when a sign with the soul purpose of perfecting and teaching abut relationships turns into a heartbreaker. But most Libran heartbreakers are at the end of the second stage of their sign and whether they realize it or not are damaged by the struggles of their past relationships - including those in previous lifetimes. This can make them hazardous... As always remember that not all Librans are heartbreakers, but those who are trapped in the inner struggles that pile up at the end of the second stage of this sign can end up being quite difficult.
Is your heart being broken by a Virgo? This is the fourth episode in our heartbreaker series. While Virgos deal with the unconscious struggles of second stage they can have some extremely confusing behaviour patterns clinging and fearing abandonment one second, disappearing or shutting you out the next. Here we explain why and how to work with these patterns. With understanding many of these situations can turn out positively. As always remember that not all Virgos are heartbreakers.
Is your heart being broken by an Aquarius? This is the third episode in our heartbreaker series. When Aquarians break hearts it is often a confusing experience for both parties. In this episode we explain why and how to come to terms with the patterns that often happen in relationships with people of this Sun sign. As always remember that not all Aquarians are heartbreakers, but those who are trapped in old patterns that stem from early second stage of this sign can end up being quite difficult.
A discussion between two professional astrologers - Taina and her 3rd Stage Astrology student Katya - about what life is like for astrologers with their expanded viewpoint on their own daily lives. Thanks Katya for suggesting this discussion.
This episode is about the Saturn Pluto conjunction - a rare and powerful astrological event. When this conjunction occurs it affects everyone in a concentrated way. It also has a powerful impact when someone is born with this aspect in their Natal (birth) chart. The first part of the episode talks about its mass effects from October 2019 through the entire year of 2020. The second part describes its influence in an individual chart.
Is your heart being broken by a person with Moon in Libra? This is the second video in our heartbreaker series and is the only video featuring a Moon sign instead of a Sun sign. This Moon sign is being featured because of the incredible number of people who have come to Taina complaining about those who have this Moon sign. Please remember that not all people with Moon in Libra are to be feared. However, this Moon sign can create certain problems that even the person who has it is unaware of or does not understand why they respond the way that they do. As Taina's student Isobel says, "Moon in Libra people can break your heart in the nicest way possible." This video explains why and how to deal with this situation when it happens.
Are there bad planets and aspects? Can they come and get us and eat us for dinner? Society tends to have the idea that in life there are "good guys" and "bad guys" and this concept has been projected onto astrology. Taina's astrology student and fellow professional astrologer Katya came up with the brilliant idea of discussing this idea to explore what really happens when it comes to so called negative planets, aspects and transits.
Signs by Element and Mode. This is our second episode in the beginner's astrology lessons series. People wishing to study Third Stage Astrology need to first understand the basics of astrology. This series of episodes provides a crash course in doing so.

This episode is about the kinds of Cancerians who break people’s hearts and/or drive them crazy. It explains what motivates their behaviour and how to deal with it. There are many wonderful Cancerians - not all of them cause trouble. This is the first in a series of thirteen episodes about astrological heartbreakers being released in the order in which I have received the most complaints about them…
Does astrology control our life events and determine our true identity? How do its principles fit in with quantum physics? Taina Ketola talks about how and why who we are determines what our astrology chart is, and describes the true value of astrology as a reflection of the soul’s identity and deeper intentions. This is the first episode in the beginner’s astrology series and is a recording of Sarah’s first astrology lesson. You do not have to be a student of astrology to benefit from listening.
This episode talks about the phases of loneliness and estrangement that people moving from the second to the third stage of any Sun sign often experience. Searching for spiritual truth and self knowledge (which is what people do in the second/third-stage transition) can threaten the people around us and leave us feeling like there is no one who relates to us. This episode describes why this happens and how to cope with and get through this phase of development.
When Sarah’s cat died we took a break from her beginner’s astrology lessons to talk about animal reincarnation. Animals have charts too, and we and our animals are all involved in the process of spiritual evolution that astrology helps serve. We discuss what happens after animals die, some true stories of animal reincarnation, why we can have animal soul mates as well as human soul mates and why having pets is an important step in an animal’s soul development.
