(This podcast highlights how the recent Mercury retrograde period triggered an important T-square in Trump's chart, so give it a listen!)What's changing now, however, is how undeniably obvious this has become as well as how potentially disruptive to both the U.S. & global trade & economy. With Mercury now direct, however, we've seen yet again additional changes in plans from the U.S. Government vis-à-vis tariffs.What's becoming more and more obvious, however, to even the average news absorber, is that Trump's assumption that his tariffs will succeed when they've been historically proven to weaken America's dollar, lead to losses for American companies, & create turmoil in the financial markets, is their complete unworkability. We approach now the April 12 Libra Full Moon, which occurs at 23'20' Libra in opposition to the Aries Sun conjunct wounded healer Chiron, while they all form a cardinal T-square to Mars in Cancer. Less than an hour later Venus stations direct in Pisces, telling us it's time to check in on the status of our partnerships.Can you spell "F-R-U-S-T-R-A-T-I-O-N?" As both Venus & Mercury begin to gather speed in their forward trajectory, we can see more clearly the results of how these astrological energies are currently playing out, at least here in America. This lunation highlights that we have here a “wounded king/ruler/autocrat wanna-be” facing opposition from the “people,” who desire to be more partnership-oriented with the rest of the world rather than less.In essence, this lunation—which has the Libra Moon reflecting back to the wounded Sun its own light—asks us to release any tendencies toward an “it's my way or the highway” type leadership that leads only to opposition, and to begin to negotiate & compromise. This becomes difficult, however, since what's wounded the Aries Sun is its lack of ability to back down in the face of having proactively made disastrous decisions.We look forward now to Mercury reentering Aries on April 16 or 17, depending on your time zone, and Mars reentering Leo April 17/18. Will Trump double down on his losing proposition to impose 145% tariffs on Chinese imports as China ups the ante by raising its tariff rates on U.S. goods to 125 percent on April 12? Especially when economists already know that this kind of trade war will result in higher prices for American consumers. “China's factories produce more than those in the United States, Germany, Japan, South Korea and Britain combined, and many of the products imported to the United States come from China,” according to the New York Times.And that's not mentioning how the U.S. House of Representatives managed to pass a continuing budget resolution on April 10, as we waxed toward the Libra Full Moon, that will keep Trump's 2017 tax cuts for billionaires & cut trillions from government services. This, combined with a square from Uranus produces someone who makes her own rules and loves to move at lightening speed. However, finding balance is importanat to her as well thanks to her Libra Moon. We also notice an intuitive stellium in Pisces which makes the art of sacrifice easy for her.   Next we look at Stephen's chart, and see a proud champion thanks to his Leo Rising sign and his Sun in the athletic and adventurous Ninth House. Mars full speed ahead also resulted in the firing of three judge advocates general, also known as “JAGs”--who provide independent legal advice to senior military officers so that they do not run afoul of U.S. law or the laws of armed conflict. The danger here lies with the fact that the current commander in chief of the armed forces is Donald Trump, who during his last administration wanted to use the military to shoot Black Lives Matter protestors. He is now setting the stage to be able to do exactly that—next time protestors take to the streets.Then there's Venus stationing retrograde March 1 through April 12, when Venus will move back from Aries into Pisces. This is a period during which--according to Jungian astrologer Erin Sullivan in her book “Retrograde Planets”--we begin a time of global review. Between now and the inferior conjunction of the Aries Sun with Venus retrograde on March 22, & its heliacal rising March 28/29, is when “the reconsideration of what is diplomatic, & what is necessary to maintain a balanced world view & sense of integrity, is precisely what happens” to us both individually & collectively, Sullivan says. Both she and astrologer Bruce Scofield have predicted certain events may happen during this time—tune in to find out more!Mercury's entrance into Mars-ruled Aries March 3 adds some fuel to the fire of any backlash against what's happening now & what may occur during Venus's retrograde period. On March 11 the two will conjoin in Aries. Given that Mercury's communication & Venus rules finances, is it possible a budget reconciliation plan will be agreed upon & passed by the U.S. Congress before a looming shut down on March 14 when the first eclipse of the season hits?And might this budget plan cause even more distress as major portions of U.S. citizen's safety nets--be they Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, or simply your job as a federal employee or through a federally funded grant--be axed from the new budget? This podcast reviews also the deeper meaning of transiting Uranus in Taurus--as Venus, the current dispositor of Uranus, will retrograde through Mars-ruled Aries starting March 1—& we enter  a period of review of our core values. There is a tremendous amount of astrological guidance that's available during this lunar cycle.  This episode is a bit longer than usual.  The Aries Full Moon  is connecting with Jupiter in Gemini, which is sitting very close to my Gemini Ascendant.  Interestingly, wherever Jupiter happens to be positioned, is where things have a tendency to expand.With Jupiter being activated on my AC (ascendant) point, it's bringing more Gemini communication energy into play.  Aries and Gemini energies work well together.  Gemini is an air sign, and Aries is fire energy. Elementally, fire and air spur each other on.In this segment, I talk about the 17 degrees of the Full Moon, and its meaning with other insight systems of numerology and tarot archetypes that have the number 17,  and how the root number 8 is having a powerful impact during 2024. The key point with Full Moon in Aries/Sun in Libra,  and with other planetary messengers, is deciding and committing to make changes in major areas of your life. At this time, the Moon is forming what is called a "Grand Cross" with other members of the "planetary" council.  Mars in Cancer, Pluto in Capricorn, Moon in Aries and Sun in Libra, all form a cardinal energetic pattern.  This crossed pattern is an activating and initiating pathway which motivates us to take action.  This Lunar Cycle is extremely encouraging and supportive toward moving and recognizing what has value and meaning in your life.  By using this illuminated moon directive, you can make changes that are empowering, and have great potential for bringing your desires into manifestation. Let's see what makes this 22-year long marriage so strong!     We start with Sarah's chart and see an assertive, energetic, fighter thanks to her Aries Sun.  With her Sun also making a close conjunction to the south node also in Aries, we note the need to “redo” the energy of this sign in a more responsible way. Combined with an imaginative and other-wordly Pisces Moon, it's no wonder that she rose to fame as Buffy the Vampire Slayer (A supernatural thriller). We also see a Moon/Mercury sextile telling us she takes great care and consideration with her words and relationships.        Next, we take on Freddie's chart and immediately see a sensitive and compassionate Pisces Sun...but with a T-square formed with his Gemini Moon and Sagittarius Neptune means his identity and emotions can get lost in the fog. This aspect creates confusion and makes articulating feelings difficult. We also see a few planets in the air element, telling us he has good social skills and also needs a partner to keep up with him intellectually.        Together, they have the powerful Sun/Moon conjunction in the sign of intuitive, romantic, Pisces. This brings a deep and unexplainable familiarity and healing energy to the relationship. If we see it your way, things may fall apart before too long…we can work it out, we can work it out…”But “can we work it out?” is the question as this Libra Full Moon lunar eclipse which occurs at 5'07 Libra at midnight PT & 3 a.m. ET March 25. Mercury rules not only communication, but siblings, local business & transportation, & “near neighborhoods,” including relatives like aunts, uncle, & cousins. We can plainly see anger building over events this week around the too slow transportation of food & medicine into places like Gaza, where children are dying of malnutrition. Also in Haiti where more than a million children--a quarter of the population--are currently cut off from food and vital services due to the recent violence there, according to the charity Save The Children.In addition, many domestic legal “arguments” have been heard this week & will continue to be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court during the period of these Mercury & Venus transits. Venus in Pisces, is exalted according to traditional astrology, , yes, but that doesn't change its propensity for naivete or the ability to play the victim or the martyr—which as Howard Sasportas points out in his book “The Gods of Change” are really two sides of the same coin.So, as anger builds over the mistreatment of others (Mercury is in Mars-ruled Aries & Mars highest function is to defend & protect those weaker or unable to defend themselves), while the dissolution of women's rights offends Venus as she travels first through Neptune-ruled Pisces but soon will move into Mars-ruled Aries as well, as noted.So, issues of women's rights as they've been flowing down the drain since the Supreme Court's Dobbs legal decision in June 2022 (Venus represents how we value feminine divine energy) have ignited a great deal of anger which is only likely to increase more openly when Venus transits through Aries soon.This week, however, the Sun conjoins Neptune March 17, making us all more prone to feel for the masses who need protection from harm because we're able to relate to their victimization now. This month, we have 2 dramatic full moons that bookend the month, Mercury retrograde begins, supportive connections between Mars in Virgo, Jupiter in Taurus, and Pluto in Capricorn, and Venus retrograde makes some very meaningful connections.

Aries New Moon Hybrid Solar Eclipse I advocate.  I initiate.  I uplift.    The Aries New Moon Eclipse is upon us.  This is a potent time to embrace new beginnings and courageously blaze forward with purpose. With the Sun and Moon meeting at the Anaretic degree of Aries (29º), we are being called to connect to the most mature expression of Aries – the grounded warrior – one who takes bold action in the name of growth, love and expansion.  Use the Emperor in the tarot to meditate on this soul-potential for Aries. This eclipse is is the first eclipse in the sign of Aries in roughly 8 years.  This eclipse marks the beginning of the Aries-Libra eclipse cycle, which will extend through 2025.  This signifies the activation of the North Node of Fate in Aries. This is a reminder to pause.  To take a deep breath.  The Aries parts of our chart and our heart will be growing over the next 2 years, so there is no need to rush the process.  However, you may find fateful realignments or sudden flashes of insight that come to you over the next two weeks that will indicate to you the ways in which you are being called to step into your personal power more now than ever before.  The Aries North Node encourages you to persevere, to be the leader of your own life and to initiate change in the direction of greater consciousness.  How might you more fully embrace your unique identity?  How might you be more true to yourself?  In what ways are you being called to take bold action in the pursuit of greater healing?     On this Aries New Moon podcast episode we are joined by special guest Bruna Maia. In our conversation we cover the following topics:  Life as an Aries Sun in 9th House Chiron + Jupiter in Aries Understanding the Anaretic degree Aries North Node Aries Esoteric Phrase Lilith in Leo, and more!
