The Sagittarius New Moon (Dec. 19, 5:43 pm PST) at 28º24' Sagittarius. This New Moon is on the Sabian symbol 29 Sagittarius, A fat boy mowing the lawn of his house on an elegant suburban street. Guard your energy and anticipate that any tasks or any clarity you hope to gain will be hard won and might take a little while for you to see. [4:00] The Sun squares Saturn (Dec. 16, 8:33 pm PST) at 25°28' Sagittarius-Pisces. Use this time to plan and prepare for things that you want to get done at the New Moon, rather than pushing hard to actually do them. [5:04] The Sun squares Neptune (Dec. 20, 5:02 pm PST) at 29°24' Sagittarius-Pisces. Expect to feel drained, maybe a bit confused or unclear about what you want to accomplish during this New Moon cycle. Don't be too hard on yourself if you find you just don't have the energy. [6:25] Lunar Phase Family Cycle (LPFC). The First Quarter (first action point) in this LPFC comes on September 18, 2026, at 25º57' Sagittarius. The Full Moon (awareness point) of this LPFC will occur on June 18, 2027, at 27º33' Sagittarius. Then the Last Quarter Moon (final action point) in the LPFC comes on March 17, 2028, at 27º53' Sagittarius. [8:39] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. The Moon trines Neptune (Dec. 17, 7:24 am PST). Venus in aspect to Saturn often brings delays or disappointments, but sometimes the lesson is to have patience, and in the case of Saturn in Pisces, acceptance. And how that aspect conjures up images of the recently announced National Security Strategy (NSS) of U.S. withdrawal from NATO & alignment in general with former European allies.Reminiscent of the 1823 Monroe Doctrine, this newly announced NSS policy seeks to bring the U.S. back into an era of concern for western hemisphere dominance while reducing its formerly stated objective of allying with its European partners since WWII. In other words, the natal U.S. Mars/Neptune relates to the belief that exploration & inhabitation of the Americas included endless possibilities.That this is part of the waxing approximate 36-year synodic cycle which began when Saturn conjoined with Pluto in Capricorn on January 12, 2020, should be no surprise. That's because this cycle often heralds the beginning a new world order. In 1947's post WWII era, this cycle begun in Leo led to the formation of NATO & the U.S.'s commitment to partner with European nations to help maintain their future security.In hindsight now, the Saturn/Pluto cycle in Libra begun in late 1982 & early 1983 reflected the growing global concern with government austerity measures (read: Saturn-ruled Capricorn's archetypal association with financial success.) That such policies were adopted during the Reagan & Thatcher years in tandem in the U.S. & U.K. fiscal “starve the beast” governmental deregulation seems obvious now. This Saturn/Pluto cycle also foresaw the dissolution of the USSR in 1989 after the new Saturn/Neptune cycle began--an event that factored strongly into the reformation of a new international global alignment since putting America at the forefront of global politics. MERCURY IN SAGITTARIUS: NEWS, NEWS, & MORE NEWS REVEALING MORE & MORE SECRETS!The continued outpouring of astrologically related news since have highlighted where confusion has obfuscated ulterior motives (Neptune direct), where missing details may prevent achievement of a strategy's ultimate goal (Virgo/Pisces square & Mercury in Sagittarius.) including events related to law such as the dual-judge mandated release of grand jury information from the legal case of convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell & Jeffrey Epstein's 2008 case. Also included is the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia from detention by a judge who also prevented his rearrest on December 12 in Maryland based on declaring that immigration officials cannot re-detain him until the court conducts a hearing on the motion for the temporary restraining order.Next we have the recent Supreme Court “shadow docket” decision allowing Texas's state gerrymander to continue through the 2026 midterms. Along with that comes the realization--a la the revelations revealed since this month's Scorpio New Moon opposite Uranus in Taurus--that race-based voter disenfranchisement is allowable in a democracy. Yep, what's come up from the Scorpionic depths that may surprise many who live here is that the U.S. is still a racist society, often protected by continued racist legal high court decisions. We have also the release now of additional Epstein information, including previously unseen photographs of high profile people such as Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Larry Summers, & more, hanging out in close contact with pedophiles Jeffrey Epstein & Ghislaine Maxwell. This as we wait to see whether more Epstein will be released by the Congressionally mandated date of December 19.Given that the Sagittarius Full Moon occurs that day, & that the Sadge Moon, Sun, Juno (the partner), & Venus all quincunx Uranus retrograde in Taurus then, it's highly likely we'll see some adjustment to which partnerships we'll continue to value into the future--& which ones we'll leave behind. Mars symbolizes straight, forward, direct motion and when he squares Neptune, the planet of multidimensional, infinite possibilities, it's time for us to bring in some discernment lest we lose our bearings.Fortunately, we have the Sun squaring Saturn, Mr. grounded and practical, and the Great Pyramid Sabian symbol for the week, telling us that the slow, well trod, traditional path of our ancestors (and our past lives) is the path of truth. The final four signs of Sag, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces have to do with how we integrate our personal truth with that of the collective and finally, cosmic consciousness. In other words, during this Age of Aquarius the intention is for all of us to rise together rather than each of us waking up alone,Our challenge as human beings at this time is to decipher between the true and false paths of spiritual investigation that Rudolf Steiner spoke of 100 years ago. This week's mantra may need further clarifying as there are so many today that are waking up as individuals, and, feeling no longer understood by family and friends, are "looking for their tribe of like-minded souls." This week's mantra therefore, has to be contextualized so as to refer to those like-minded souls who DO understand us and either have or are going through an awakening process themselves. By "friends," here I am not referring to anyone on the street but those who really know/see us.. Getting together, sharing, listening, and contemplating the feedback we are given from good friends is the best means of seeing our projections, fantasies, and self-delusions which is exactly what is happening for us all on planet earth at this time. If we have the courage to humbly admit we hoped for or expected more than was possible, either of ourselves or others or the world, we can lower the bar, come down to the ground, and start next year from a solid base rather than blowing in the wind. Timestamps [1:40] Mars squares Saturn (Dec. 8, 4:15 pm PST) at 25º15' Sagittarius-Pisces – a classic “one foot on the gas, one foot on the brake” transit. Slow down long enough to be sure you're going after what's truly right. [3:42] Neptune stations direct (Dec. 10, 4:23 am PST) at 29°22' Pisces, after being retrograde since July 4. During this station, there could be a general lack of clarity. Be careful with Neptune things like medications or any kind of mind- or mood-altering substances. [6:19] Mercury opposes Uranus (Dec. 10, 11:59 am PST) at 28°39' Scorpio-Taurus. Due to Mercury's recent retrograde period, this is the third and final time that this transit is exact (previously on Oct. 29 and Nov. 19). Inspiration is high and words can have a tremendous impact. [7:50] Mercury trines Neptune (Dec. 11, 2:19 am PST) at 29°22' Scorpio-Pisces, the last of three transits in this series (previously on oct. 29 and Nov. 9). It's not the very best transit for sharp analysis and logic, but intuition should be heightened, breakthroughs are possible, and the urge to create will likely be very strong. [9:39] Moon Report! Virgo Last Quarter Moon (Dec. 11, 12:52 pm PST) at 20°04' Virgo-Sagittarius. Virgo is the sign of helpers and making peace with the limitations of your financial budget, your energy, and your schedule. [11:27] Lunar Phase Family Cycle (LPFC). This is the Last Quarter (final action point) in an LPFC that began with a New Moon on Sep 14, 2023 (21º58' Virgo). The First Quarter (action point) of this LPFC was on June 13, 2024 (23º39' Virgo), and the Full Moon (awareness point) was on March 13, 2025 (23º56' Virgo). [13:25] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. The Moon in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus (Dec. 9, 8:56 pm PST). It's VOC for 2 hours, 24 minutes, then enters Virgo (11:20 pm PST). Play Netflix roulette! Use this VOC Moon period to initiate a new habit of exposing yourself to new forms of art. [15:03] The Moon in Virgo opposes Neptune in Pisces (Dec. 12, 6:51 am PST). It's VOC for 1 hour 13 minutes, then enters Libra (8:04 am PST). Be inspired by others but not unrealistically infatuated. [15:53] The Moon in Libra sextiles Mars in Sagittarius (Dec. 14, 7:36 pm PST). It's VOC for 15 minutes, then enters Scorpio (7:51 pm PST). Use this VOC Moon period to get in the habit of going after what you want with a light-hearted attitude.
