The Source Familywas a high-profile spiritual commune and cult founded in Hollywood in the early 1970s by James Edward Baker, better known as Father Yod. The group is famous for its early adoption of organic health foods, its psychedelic rock band, and its eventual tragic relocation to Hawaii. Key Aspects of The Source FamilyThe Leader: Father Yod was a former WWII hero, Hollywood restaurateur, and stuntman who reinvented himself as a guru. He lived in a mansion with 14 wives and drove a Rolls Royce, claiming he was a "spiritual father" to his 140 followers. The Source Restaurant: The group operated a popular vegetarian restaurant on the Sunset Strip that became a celebrity hotspot for figures like John Lennon and Warren Beatty. It is famously parodied in Woody Allen's Annie Hall.Music: The Family formed an experimental psychedelic rock band called Ya Ho Wha 13. They recorded nine albums between 1973 and 1975, which are now considered cult classics in the psych-rock genre.Beliefs & Lifestyle: Members practiced communal living, yoga, and meditation based on a blend of Western esotericism and the Age of Aquarius. They all adopted the last name "Aquarian".The End: Following pressure from local authorities, the group moved to Hawaii in 1974. In 1975, Father Yod died following a hang-gliding accident on Oahu. The Family largely disbanded shortly after his death. Media & LegacyThe story of the group was brought to a wider audience through the 2012 documentary The Source Family, directed by Jodi Wille and Maria Demopoulos. It was based on the book The Source: The Untold Story of Father Yod, Ya Ho Wa 13 and The Source Family by original members Isis Aquarian and Electricity Aquarian. Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

We just have to. Like, I am massively impressed by these strong women and strong men. They are not tiny people, they are big people, and what they can do is fucking insane. Lesley Logan 0:14  Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. I'm Lesley Logan, Pilates instructor and fitness business coach. I've trained thousands of people around the world and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt. My friends, action brings clarity and it's the antidote to fear. Each week, my guest will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and Be It Till You See It. It's a practice, not a perfect. Let's get started. Lesley Logan 0:54  Welcome back to the Be It Till You See It interview recap where my co-host in life, Brad, and I are going to dig into the redefining convo I had with Brooke Siler and Maria Earle in our last episode. And if you didn't listen to that one, you fucked up, you missed, you messed up. Brad Crowell 1:09  Game over. Lesley Logan 1:09  I'm sorry. I hate to say it that harshly, but you gotta, you gotta listen. I mean, what are you doing? How are you missing the Tuesday episode? No, I'm kidding. Listen to this. Sometimes people like to listen this, and then they go listen to that one. So if that's you, I'm not harping on you, you're gonna go listen to it, because you are gonna be so intrigued if you missed it. It was so good. It was so fun. Brad Crowell 1:28  Yeah, it was good. It was actually a lot of fun. And there were, like, some great moments in there that I started taking notes. Lesley Logan 1:35  Whoa, whoa. 643 episodes later, friends and he is taking notes. Oh, my God. Well, today is February 19th 2026, it's a Great American Spit Out. We observe Great American Spit Out on the Thursday of February's third full week every year. So complicated. This year it takes place. I have a really funny side note, I listened to this podcast. Brad Crowell 2:01  Third full week. Thursday of the.Lesley Logan 2:04  Yeah, The February's third full week every year. Yeah. So there's this one podcast I listened to, and those, I won't say the podcast name, because if you listen to it, you'll know what I'm talking about. And she always says the date, and she'll say 2000 2026 and it's taken forever for her to go, what I'm not saying it right? They're like, No, you're not, anyways. And that just made me think of it like, let's make it as complicated as possible. Thursday of February, third full week of every year. So would it be the third Thursday of the fullest week in February? Brad Crowell 2:37  Why would the third week of February not be full? Lesley Logan 2:39  Well, because you could start on a for the first could start on a Thursday. Brad Crowell 2:40  Oh, I see. Lesley Logan 2:41  And so that's not a full week. Brad Crowell 2:43  So it's not, technically, the third Thursday, because if the if the week start, if it starts on a Wednesday, the first Thursday is not a full week.Lesley Logan 2:54  The third Thursday of February's fullest week. Brad Crowell 3:00  I think this is hilarious. Moving on.Lesley Logan 3:02  Anyways, they're like, dying to know what this is. So this year, it takes place on February 19th. It's a day to encourage people, especially veterans, to stop using smokeless tobacco products. The important mission of the day. I mean, honestly, this is for everybody. I appreciate that we're encouraging our veterans.Brad Crowell 3:19  All tobacco products, but right now we're talking about the Great American Spit Out, which is clearly talking about dipping, yeah, dipping and other things. Lesley Logan 3:27  Dipping and other things. I guess there's other things. So the important mission of this day is to provide users with enough resources to help them stop using such products that tobacco plant is cultivated for its leaves. Tobacco leaves are rich in nicotine, which is an addictive chemical people can use tobacco to smoke, chew or sniff. The Great American Spit Out as the perfect day to start, to start fighting the addiction caused by tobacco products and nicotine. Smokeless tobacco users are encouraged to quit, even if just for one day. Hey, you know what? You know around here, we are here for just one day. Anything to start. I actually really picked this day because a few other days were quite boring. But my family has a history of smokers and it and all of them had to have surgery, and all of them did not die on an easy in an easy way. So my grandfather, he had a part of his lung removed, like a huge part back in the day when they did those surgeries, it looks like a shark bit him. And they would show us, this is this is our hooked on trucks. This is our dare campaign. My family would pull up a shirt and show us the shark attack. Oh, this is gonna happen to you if you smoke. And then, yes, but your parents did a more, kinder.Brad Crowell 4:25  Yeah, we didn't have any shark attack smoking shark attack (inaudible).Lesley Logan 4:29  Everyone was able to learn, like the way I was raised. And then my mom had another because of the blood, the way his blood coagulated, and his tobacco use started losing limbs. And to the day he died, he still smoked. Because at one point he was like, Well, if I have no feet or legs or fingers, I should at least continue to smoke. And then his wife died of secondhand smoke. She died of emphysema. So yeah, so at any rate. So I also looked up because we are hearing that tobacco products are back on the rise again, partly because, like, you know, the hooked on drugs is your brain on drugs and and and things like that aren't working. But also the youth today, the youth, the younger people today, the youths, they are actually they're they actually don't they have a deeper sense of fatalism, like they actually don't think that they'll be alive as long as the rest of the world has been or in a world that is going to be healthy and clean for them. So why not smoke? Which I get that? Here's the deal. Brad Crowell 5:25  Aren't they drinking less though?Lesley Logan 5:28  They don't drink as much, they also have sex later, so that's cool, or less. Do you know today, the day that we're recording this, I heard that 40 year old women are having more babies than teenagers, and that's huge. That is a huge deal Because, like.Brad Crowell 5:43  That's not what I don't think I would have expected that, but that's great.Lesley Logan 5:46  Well, because now IVF has gotten better and kids are having less sex. So, you know, so I think, but here's the deal. Like, look, we all have our vices. We all have our addictions. And there's just something about cigarette smoke that just and if you're a smoker who listens this, I'm not judging you. I feel bad that you got hooked on that you got hooked on it, and it bothers me, and I understand, like you could be addicted to alcohol and other things that are as bad. But there's just about cigarette smoke that I fucking can't stand. I can't stand walking by a doorway and smelling it. I can't. So if, if, if me wanting to stand next to you outside matters, maybe you quit today, and I know you're like Lesley, this is chewing. Well, chewing causes jaw cancer, you know, so tongue, not not sexy, not sexy. In fact, one of our friends fathers had jaw cancer from smoking, from chewing tobacco, and so we all got to see that. That was my parents way of making sure we never started chewing. Brad Crowell 6:43  The Shark Attack of the jaw cancer. Lesley Logan 6:45  Well, it's not sexy. I'm gonna tell you right now, even if you're fatalistic, you definitely want your teeth you do. So stop smoking, even for today. Okay, let's get into it. So oh gosh, my goodness, babe. Agency Mini kicked off today.Brad Crowell 6:59  Today. This morning. We are, we are, while you're listening to this, we're probably live on a webinar. Lesley Logan 7:05  Yeah? So you can, I think you could still sign up today, but. Brad Crowell 7:08  You sure can. Lesley Logan 7:07  But it's gonna move quick, so and you don't want to wait till the next one, because I know you're like, Oh, I'll wait till the next one. You'll forget about it. So you should just sign up for today. prfit.biz/mini it's for Pilates instructors and studio owners who work for themselves or want to. We are going to get you clarity. We're gonna help you with your business. Brad and I have been around a lot of different fitness business coaches out there, and one thing that they all have in common is treating you all the same and encouraging your business to follow certain templates. And we want you. We've I believe that your business will ride any recession wave if you are differentiated and your services are diversified, and it follows your goals and your life, and that's what we coach. Brad Crowell 7:31  That is. But, so go to prfit.biz/mini. That's profit without the O slash mini, and then in March, we're hitting the road, y'all, in a different way than normal when we when we say we're hitting the road, usually means we're hopping in the van. This time, we are hopping on a plane. We are going to be skipping across said pond. Lesley Logan 8:07  We're going to be in Poland. Yeah, Poland first for the Controlology Pilates conference with Karen Frischmann. That's gonna be a couple of days of epicness. And there's a day where you can get some sessions, and it's just a lot of fun. If you didn't, if you missed us the last time was a couple years ago. Don't miss this one. We don't know when we're coming back, and that's just because the world is really big, and I've got to start going to new places. You know, we need to go to Australia and stuff. So xxll.co/poland and then we'll, we'll venture over. I don't really know if it's I have, you know, when I look at the map, I'm so confused. I don't know. I clearly forgot how to study the map of Europe. So we're gonna go over to Brussels. I'll just say that, because I don't really know if it's up or down, or east or west. We're going to Brussels. xxll.co/brussels, we'll be at Els Studio. P li tells which I just love. I love NFL is listening to this one of my Oh, whenever I hear what else I always think of? What else? Yeah, yeah. From our time with Jay, we would start going, what else? What else? Anyways, xxll.co/brussels that's, when we meet Karen, again. Brad Crowell 9:11  Let's just say that again, xxll.co xxll.co/brusselsLesley Logan 9:17  What you can't you can't hear this fast you can hear. And that's just giving out the fine print. It's Karen and I again, also our friend Ignacio is going to be there. Oh my gosh, I love him so much I can't even wait. So definitely snag your spots to that before it's sold out. And then we're gonna do our second honeymoon and make our way over to London to POT London, and I have some information for you folks. My Saturday workshop is sold out. Brad Crowell 9:45  What already? Holy mackerel. Lesley Logan 9:47  Yeah, it is. It is at max capacity. And there's only a few spots left in my Sunday workshop. So if you are wanting to add classical concepts to your contemporary classes, then you're going to want to go xxll.co/pot xxll.co/pot I'm super excited. We'll have our decks there. Those workshops will happen, and you definitely want to stick around, because there's also going to be a little hangout session that we're doing for our members and our listeners. And then there's a really cool documentary that they are doing. The release, Pilates Anytime is doing the release of at that POT event. Yep, you'll want to be there. Then we're gonna come back. Brad Crowell 10:25  Then we're coming home. Lesley Logan 10:26  And we're doing some fun stuff at home. We have eLevate weekend, we have eLevate retreat. We have business retreat. You know those things you can't come to unless you can, and you'll know if you can. So you got an invite, but what you can come to is something we're doing in May. And believe it or not, May is still springtime. Brad Crowell 10:49  Believe it or not. Lesley Logan 10:49  It's still springtime. And so. Brad Crowell 10:51  News flash. Lesley Logan 10:48  News flash. Well, some people think it's the summer because of the weekend, the holiday weekend, but it is still spring, and we're doing spring training, and it's how to get overhead so this is our overhead exercises. We have a lot of requests for people struggling with Overhead, Jack Knife, Control Balance, High Season, Bicycle Headstands. So what I'm super excited about is that we're going to do a whole week long on all these different classes with different teachers from the OPC platform, so that no matter your body size, height, age, experience, you are going to have a class. It's going to give you tips for for your life, for your practice. I mean, we even have a teacher who's removing overhead exercises from her practice, and so you don't let fear stop you from this one or, Oh, I'm a beginner, or I can never do that. I have contraindications. We will have versions and variations for you. And our goal is it's kind of like. Brad Crowell 10:51  Look, it's how to do it, not necessarily having to do it, right? How to do it, not have to do it. Lesley Logan 10:54  Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And at OPC, we're really big fans of like you you learn the variations and the versions replacements for your practice, and then we believe it's brave and courageous that you do that. So we're super excited about it. You're going to want to go to opc.me/events, to get on the waitlist for that, because you'll, you'll, if you're on the waitlist, you'll hear about Early Bird and all that good stuff, and so you won't miss out on that information.Brad Crowell 12:08  Yeah, totally. Well.Lesley Logan 12:10  I'm excited we have. I mean, hello, welcome to the new year. I know it's February 19th, everyone. Brad Crowell 12:14  Busy busy year already. Lesley Logan 12:16  But we just got home. This is our first day in the office. Brad Crowell 12:18  This is literally the first full day in the office, and it's already January's almost done.Lesley Logan 12:23  I know, I know I kind of like it, though I feel very I felt ready to come back to work today. So anyways, we have to get into this episode before that. We have a question from audience. Would you like to share it with me, babe? Brad Crowell 12:35  Yeah. So IG, from IG, Pilates_Rosi is asking, Hey, someone told me that you should always gear out on the Reformer to do the short box series. Yes, no. Do you agree? Lesley Logan 12:48  Isn't always such a strong word? Brad Crowell 12:50  Always. This is why I failed all personality tests, because there's always an exception. So the answer would be fucking no, but.Lesley Logan 12:57  Yeah, I don't always do anything. Brad Crowell 12:58  Oh, right. We don't always do anything ever come on. Lesley Logan 13:00  And also not every Reformer gears out. So then what? Right? Brad Crowell 13:04  Then, what are you supposed to do? Should you be gearing out? Maybe that's a better way to ask the question. So we're not getting into our ADHD-ness.Lesley Logan 13:12  All right, so in an ideal world, your some people call it a sitting box. I call it a short box, goes over your shoulder blocks on the carriage, like a hamburger side, like it's, I guess. Anyways, I'm trying to describe how it goes on the Reformer for visual. But anyways, the short box goes on the carriage over the shoulder rest. That's the goal. So most Reformers will have a peg or some sort of post that is on there, and then there's space, and then there's your shoulder block. And so the box would, one side of the box would fit between that and lock it into place, lock in air quotes, right, would sit in there.Brad Crowell 13:44  So it's not sliding off easily. Still can if you're not paying attention. Lesley Logan 13:44  I mean, you could. You know, people have done funny things, but in an ideal world, you just sit on it, and it's not going to move forward or backwards. It's going to be in place. And then from that position, your feet go underneath the strap and they should. Brad Crowell 14:01  You're facing the foot bar. Lesley Logan 14:06  You're facing the foot bar. Brad Crowell 14:08  Feet go in the strap. Lesley Logan 14:03  In an ideal world, your feet do not rest on anything. That said, sometimes they touch things. There's a difference between touching and resting, right? However, I have noticed in our tours that there are a lot of new rules out in the world, and so there are some people who put the box in front of the shoulder rest. And I think this is because people aren't really paying attention to how they put the box on.Lesley Logan 14:09  So you're saying in front, as opposed to over the shoulder, okay. Lesley Logan 14:10  Over exactly in front. So they put them in front of the shoulder rest. Because I think the boxes are getting damaged because people aren't paying attention to what they're putting the box on. Or some equipment has, like, different things back there on their blocks. They have to go in front of the shoulder blocks. So if you're going in front of the shoulder blocks, most of the time, you're going to gear out. Unless someone is fun size and your box is really big, you're going to gear out. What does that mean? It means you're going to move the carriage away from the strap a little bit so that you can actually have straight, non resting legs when they're under the strap. Now, can the legs be slightly bent, of course. Should they be forced to bend? I wouldn't, because then it makes it really difficult to get into your seat. Makes it really difficult to get into your center. Your hip flexor start pulling you up. So here is the thing that I would agree with.Brad Crowell 14:10  When you say the thing you're talking about now we're talking about the actual gearing. Lesley Logan 14:10  We're going to talk about the exercise. In an ideal world, you place the box on the equipment where the body needs it, so that their legs can be reaching as long as possible without locking out, and their feet are underneath the strap flex without resting. That's the goal. Brad Crowell 14:10  Okay.Lesley Logan 14:10  That's the goal. So it's going to be different for everyone. Some people are going to be in front of the shoulder blocks. Some people are going to be over the shoulder blocks. Some people are gonna be front geared out. But if you are putting the box in front of the shoulder blocks, because that's a rule, most often, you're gearing out. Brad Crowell 15:27  Yeah, because it's now shifting the box forward like four inches. Lesley Logan 15:35  And then, by the way, you have to gear back in, because the straps are measured with the carriage geared in, and so in my opinion.Brad Crowell 15:52  So it's really a pain, that's a pain in the ass. Lesley Logan 15:54  Yes, thank you so much. Just put the box over the shoulder blocks. Why are we doing why are making this harder? Oh, because we don't want just teach people, you have to. I remember my trainer saying, hey, when you put the box on, make sure this part of the leather is underneath the box. Otherwise it will curl in and it will break and it will hurt against someone's neck. Okay, great. Just tell people. This is why we have a weird rule, you know, Hey, you think polite is expensive. Don't damage the box. How about that? Okay? Brad Crowell 16:21  Yeah, don't damage my damn box. Lesley Logan 16:24  So anyways, I just think that like I get, I get, I get why some people make funny up rules, but we are when you change the exercise placement, you change the exercise, and when you change that, it affects the cueing that people are giving, and then teachers are giving out weird ass cues that make no sense to the person doing it, because they're like, well, how do I get my butt on if my hip flexors are overworking, you know? So it's just hard. So anyways, hopefully, Pilates_Rosi, this gives you some ideas to think about. Definitely check out my videos on the short box, and in my flashcards, you can see where the box is placed. You can see how long my legs are. And if you're an OPC member, you can send in a video. Brad Crowell 16:57  You can see how long her legs are. Lesley Logan 16:59  Oh, my God, they're so long. But if you're an OPC member, you can send in a video of your setup for your short box, and I'll give you personalized feedback on where your box goes. There you go. If you have a question, you can send it in.Brad Crowell 17:13  Yeah, send it in. You can text us, 310-905-5534, or hit us up. At beitpod.com/questions, beitpod.com/questions, where you can leave both a win or a question. Lesley Logan 17:25  I want your wins. Brad Crowell 17:26  Yeah. Lesley Logan 17:27  I want your questions and your wins. I want all. I want it all. Brad Crowell 17:30  We want them all. All right, stick around. We're going to talk about Brooke Siler and Maria Earle. Brad Crowell 17:34  All right. Welcome back. Let's talk about Brooke Siler and Maria Earle. Brooke and Maria are internationally respected Pilates educators with over 50 years of combined teaching experience. Brooke, the author of the best selling The Pilates Body dropped in 2000 y'all, has spent decades teaching and researching Joseph Pilates' original writings, photos and archival materials which deeply inspired the new 25th anniversary edition of her book and its expanded chapter on internal sensing and natural movement. Maria, who began teaching in 1997 and previously owned a Pilates studio in Manhattan's Upper East Side, now runs a global education practice from Barcelona, where she moved, I think she said, about 15 years ago, she appears as the model in Brooke's new edition of the book, and was chosen for her grounded, internal, authentic approach to movement, rather than an her aesthetic performance. Together, they're redefining what a Pilates body really is.Lesley Logan 18:34  Okay, so I have to say, and I did say this on the episode, but I had, I have many Pilates people pitched to be on this podcast, and while we talk about Pilates a lot, it's not a Pilates podcast like I know it's for Pilates listeners. But to me, Pilate is a mind body, you know, practice, and sometimes our mind is a little fucked up, and we need help from these Be It guests that we have so we can get into our body around our practice. So, but I really wanted to interview them, because what a e it till you see it story and just how the book came about, how the second edition came about, how Maria jumped in on the second edition. I mean, she was so vulnerable and authentic about all about that, about joining the book. And I love that Maria said, let's celebrate the body as it is. Let's cut to the bullshit of what it means to have a Pilates body. And I here's the thing that's really interesting, right? Like, when I bought the book, The Pilates Body, I wasn't like, Oh, I'm going to look like this after I do this book. Like, that's not how I interpreted the book. It's kind of like, like a runner, like, you know what I mean? Like, what do these things mean.Brad Crowell 19:31  That'd be weird to pick up, like, a Gold's Gym muscle book and be like, Oh, if I do these exercises, I'm gonna look like Arnold.Lesley Logan 19:37  I'm gonna have the Gold's Gym body, you know? And like, I mean, I guess like people, I guess people do, but I think this all stems from just terrible media information on what a healthy body looks like. And so I couldn't agree more with like, with the cut through the bullshit of what a Pilates body means, because we have to cut through the bullshit of like, what a healthy body looks like. We just have to. Like, I am massively impressed by these strong women and strong men. They are not tiny people. They are big people, and what they can do is fucking insane. Brad Crowell 20:07  Yeah like, the dudes who pick up the boulder and carry it down the thing, or those, like weird, like rock that are, like, shaped like, kind of like a diamond, like those, and there are hundreds of pounds. Those people who are in those bodies, those are huge bodies. They're not, they're not. Lesley Logan 20:23  They are stronger than anybody I know. Brad Crowell 20:25  Yeah. Lesley Logan 20:26  Literally any, any of the bodies that we work out with, that we're friends with, that we're connected with, stronger than any of the bodies I know. Remember when we watched, what was that Korean show?Brad Crowell 20:36  The one the 100, the 100, the physical doc.Lesley Logan 20:39  Oh, physic, Physical 100. Brad Crowell 20:42  The Physical 100. Lesley Logan 20:42  Didn't translate well, which is why. But like, it was interesting because, like, they brought on all these different athletes, or pseudo athletes and trainers, and they had all these different bodies, and depending on the challenge, certain bodies did better, right? Like, the mountain climbers certainly slayed the first challenge over the strong men, but then when it came down to the end, you had an equal amount of people who were in bigger bodies and endurance bodies at the same challenge. And so what it comes down to is like, on average, most of us, if we are paying attention to our body and balancing out our strength and flexibility and our endurance, can do a fuck ton of stuff, but so many of us are, like, obsessed with getting smaller, and it's boring. Anyways, I could keep going, but she for Maria, you know, she there was an internal struggle because, of course, like, she was excited about the conversation, and then she's still a human being. So we got to talk about, like, when you look at yourself in those pictures and you go, yeah, I'm a proud of my body. I'm proud to be part of this, but ooh, that's what I look like, and I resonate with this so much. I was, I was doing a photo shoot yesterday, and I was just like, Okay, guys, this is not a sitting outfit. This is a standing outfit. So can you like because, because also it's like, how much of it do you want to be as a just, how much of it is a distraction versus like, the point or, or do we just do it so that people feel real, see real bodies more often? Like, it's, it's such a complicated thing, and your your mind messes with you based on how you were raised. And these stories take a long time, but she said for her, it was bigger than the photos. She said it became about reframing what is in our bodies, to be embodied and to celebrate all the different phases. And I love this so much because, you know, Maria, Brooke, and I, and many people listening, our bodies are in a different part of our journey. So it's just we're, you know, we're not going to look like 20 year olds, nor should we. And then Brooke also was conscious of this issue because in 2000 she had wrote in that issue that she said she hopes, in earnest that the models in the book inspire and don't intimidate, because she chose the original models for their strength and endurance, and also because they knew the work, I think that that's, you know, really hard when you're trying to pick it out and not because of their size and it. And I think even though her heart was really, you know, in there about inspire and not intimidate, like people just have a really hard time reading all the words and applying that to themselves. And so I'm excited for this additional chapter.Brad Crowell 22:57  Yeah, I also just wanted to say I'm glad you grabbed this as your topic, because I when I said I started taking notes, I actually was quoting you. As much as I appreciate the interview, you said something that really stuck out to me. You said we should have always been moving for the health of it and not for the shape of it. Move for the health of it and not the shape of it. In fact, I thought it was kind of quippy little, like, tagline, you know, for the health of it, because it's almost like, for the hell of it. Lesley Logan 23:29  Isn't it so great that I can come up with these things?Brad Crowell 23:33  Also, it's so great that I can hear them and be like, we should clip that. Lesley Logan 23:36  That's your job. Brad Crowell 23:37  Be It Till You See It, baby.Lesley Logan 23:39  Well, and I think that comes from like, I don't know if I mentioned on this episode or a different one, but I read a book called Rethinking Thin and at the same time that I picked up The Pilates Body book, I picked up that book because I was thinking about becoming a personal trainer, and I was doing this personal training stuff. And it was this history. It's a history of dieting and, like, where dieting came from and where the ideal woman's body came from. And it's two fucking things that'll fuck and piss you off. One, it's a cartoon drawing. So that's annoying, because it's not even fucking real. And then the other was on the statue, Norman. So the Norman statue. Brad Crowell 24:12  Is it the one holding the earth? Lesley Logan 24:13  No, but it's just a man. It's just a man. And then what they did for Norma. Brad Crowell 24:14  Oh, Norman, Norman, versus Norma. Lesley Logan 24:19  Norma, or nor woman, from what I understand from it, a book about butts it's, they basically took. Brad Crowell 24:27  I really hope that was the title, A Book About Butts.Lesley Logan 24:29  I think it is. I'll look at while you're talking about your favorite thing, I'll look it up. They basically put boobs on Norman. Well, Norman does not have estrogen. His pelvis is a different shape, like, oh my God, he doesn't even have.Brad Crowell 24:42  Oh I see. So you're they took, they took sculpture of a man and just put boobs, and then said, this is what the ideal woman should look like.Lesley Logan 24:50  This is what a woman looks like. And so I think ideal, I think it might have been average, right? But it's not that's not even a thing, not even impossible. So, anyways, like, because of the book Rethinking Thin, I learned about all the different diets that came around, all the different things that were obsessing about, and also how genetics plays such a massive role on the size that your body is determined to be. And then there's and then you go into the history of, like, when being heroin chic is in and it's always when they're trying to take rights away from women. Like, literally, if you take all the different times heroin chic was in and then you take all the different times they're trying to oppress women, they literally line up at the same time. So it's like, it's a cultic behavior of like, ladies stop eating so you your brain isn't functioning and you're not able to hear how we're taking your rights away. Anyways, what did you love?Brad Crowell 25:41  Well, I just wanted to say shout out to a podcast called Hysteria that I listened to that talks about this all the time, like the women's rights and. Lesley Logan 25:52  Oh, we love Hysteria, yeah. Brad Crowell 25:53  And, you know, like, it's a lot of politics as well, but it's two, you know, very powerful women who really dig in. And it's been really enlightening for me to see this from a different perspective.Lesley Logan 26:06  Yeah, the book is called Butts: A Backstory by Heather Radke. Brad Crowell 26:12  By who? Lesley Logan 26:13  By Heather Radke. Brad Crowell 26:14  That's really funny.Lesley Logan 26:15  If anyone knows her, I want to interview her. But yes, it's about race, gender, control, beauty standards. It's, it's it's a lens of the human backside, and it's really great. But I also just want to say, if you're like, Oh, I get so annoyed when they get political. Ladies, being a woman in this world is political. Just, I hate to break it to you, but it is. Anyways, your turn. Brad Crowell 26:36  Yeah, you're not wrong. All right. Well, hey, look, back to Brooke and Maria. Maria also recounted how her mom often said, fake it till you make it. And I know that we've talked both times here about Maria, but I this really resonated with me, because I actually really wanted to hear you say, be it till you see it is the positive spin of fake it till you make it.Lesley Logan 27:02  I know, but, but I know, and I'm. Brad Crowell 27:03  We're not trying to take away from her. Lesley Logan 27:05  But also it works for her, like it works for her and it doesn't hold her back. So, like, I don't ever want to take something that works for someone away. And so I will let Brooke have fake it till you make it. That said. Brad Crowell 27:16  Maria. Lesley Logan 27:17  Oh, Maria said that, oh, yeah Maria said that. I will let Maria have that, because I think that's important. And also, if that is hard for you or inauthentic, then that's the be it till you see it reframe. That's all.Brad Crowell 27:28  Yeah and it is a reframe and, but it's obviously, you know. Lesley Logan 27:33  It's why always is a terrible word. Brad Crowell 27:36  Right. But she, she, so, Maria said she uses this when she's not quite sure what she's doing, or when she feels like she's not quite sure, helps her bypass the paralysis of starting where, you know, often starting things not 100% sure where they're going, but trusting that she's going to land on her feet. And, you know, I think it's really helpful. There's got to be, you know, it is a weird thing, right? This, this idea of having this internal dialogue of, like, your own internal like cheerleader versus like, you know, antagonist. And I think it's hard to sometimes be in the moment and see this is a time right now where I have to choose to fake it till I make it, right? You know, it's, it's hard to do that, but if you can, you know, being it until you see it is a win. You know, there's, there's a way to to at least get the ball rolling until, because confidence comes through action, right? It comes through doing and experiencing. So if you there's got to be a point where you got to get the ball rolling.Lesley Logan 28:39  Oh, couldn't agree more. And I like, I remember, like, you know, when I had a job in retail, one of the guys who worked for me, I was going through a lot, and I took him for his like, you know, monthly meeting. I said, Are you good? Like, I just know you got a lot going on outside of this. And he goes, Oh, none of that bothers me here, because when I cross the threshold of the store, sure, it's showtime. And that's another way of being it till you see it, or fake it till you make it, like, and I think that that's good mantra for us to have. And I also like, I think we are all putting too much pressure on feeling ready. You know, I don't know that I got to ask Brooke, like was, did she feel ready to like, add to this book? But also, like, this is a big endeavor to take a bestselling book and make changes to it. Like, like, the number of people like this book changed my life. I still have my book from 25 years ago. And then to go, Oh, I'm adding on. Brad Crowell 29:30  I'm just gonna make it better. Lesley Logan 29:30  I'm just gonna make it better. Brad Crowell 29:30  No big deal. Lesley Logan 29:31  And people didn't go, Oh, I'm just gonna keep the one I have. No. A bunch of our OPC members and our eLevate members all were like, Oh, I pre ordered the copy. I'm ready to go and, like.Brad Crowell 29:43  But, but I think this is, like, we're dancing around the word perfectionism, right? You know, like, the the idea of being ready to get started to do the thing, you know, that's, that's very much a perfectionism mentality, yeah. And it's, it creates this fear. That we're not gonna it's not gonna be right or done or perfect or whatever, and that that is debilitating, and also it is, like, the fastest way to go nowhere.Lesley Logan 30:10  Yes, it really is. And like, first of all, I think we, we're also blessed for the second edition of this book to be out, because the additional chapter isn't only a visual understanding of of what Brooke was trying to get in the first book, and also in the research she's done since. But, you know, she got to go through and, like, with 25 years of hindsight, and add into that, and it's, and I think that is a really beautiful thing, because it means the conversation continues, you know. And I think, like, going back to the word perfection, like, even though the book is it has hit print and you can all get it and you should, the conversation will continue. And I think that's what's really cool.Brad Crowell 30:47  Yeah, I think I'm, I'm excited for her, and also I love that she shared, that Brooke shared, oh yeah, I thought it was gonna get away with, like, the easy smack two books together and re release it, and be like, done. And then her publisher was like, No, no. Lesley Logan 31:02  Yeah, I know. I know. I actually really appreciated that, because when we redid the mat deck, we were like, Okay, we're gonna break these things out. And I think Meredith, I remember Meredith going, Oh, you edited every single card. And I was like, Well, yeah, because I thought we could just, like, pull these three out. But then once I did that, I was like, Well, I kind of got her through the whole thing like I now I know too much. I know too much about how it was used, and I.Brad Crowell 31:25  Well it would also have been five years, right? We got a tons of feedback. So I imagine that Brooke was similarly like, inundated with feedback for 25 years which is amazing.Lesley Logan 31:37  Probably, most unsolicited and some solicited.Brad Crowell 31:39  Yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure. But hey, there's one more thing I wanted to talk about that Maria mentioned that really struck a chord with me. I really appreciate it. She didn't quite say it that way that I have said it, but the story she told herself, right? She, you know, was that, oh, she was just in the right place at the right time to be able to move to Spain, decide to live there and become an international educator, right? That's the story that she told her. She said it was she was spinning a narrative that kept her small, right? And so effectively, that was how she was viewing herself, (inaudible) well, and then when people would ask her, what did she do? How did she do it? She would say, I was just in the right place at the right time, which then allows them to go, oh, you lucked out, right? And she's like, but that takes away from all the hard work and the tough decisions, then the scary decisions that I had to make to get here. And that's not, that's not true. Yes, there's, of course, there's always some element of luck to it, but, you know, she was very intentional about that. And so she started to talk about the that that like addressing the narrative of playing small, you know, and, and I really appreciate that, because I remember when I was working for someone else. I, you know, why did I not go and ask for a raise? Oh, I'm just, I shouldn't even be here, was what I kept telling myself. I'm just the musician that, like I, you know, if I had ever gone through an interview process, they never would have hired me. These are all the things that I used to say to myself to justify the position that I was in, and that's 100% playing small. So I really resonated with this when she was talking about this. And she said today, she reframes her story. She said, you know, what got her here was her grit, persistence and tenacity, not luck, you know? And I just applaud her for I think it's really important that we identify that in our own lives. What story are you telling yourself that's keeping you small?Lesley Logan 33:31  Ooh, good question. Journal on that. Brad Crowell 33:33  Yeah. Well, stick around. We'll be right back. We're going to dig into those Be It Action Items that we got from Brooke and Maria right after this. Brad Crowell 33:42  Welcome back. All right. So finally, let's talk about those Be It Action Items. What bold, executable, intrinsic or targeted action items can we take away from your convo with Brooke and Maria? Brooke said the only way out is through. The only way out is through. She said she has a mentor who's a Buddhist, and their guidance has been helping her push through the fear, especially when it comes to like we talked about, how do you make something that's 25 years successful even better, and not jack it up? The only way out is through, right? She said, if I see fear, I'm going to head towards that fear so that I can make it through, right? She said, now, when she has an idea she wants to share, she reframes taking action as sharing, rather than doing a thing for others to react to, which I thought was pretty cool, because what she was talking about you asked her, like, how do you have the confidence to do this stuff? She said she started teaching, and three years later, wrote this book, three years later, wrote this book that has been an international success. Lesley Logan 34:45  Took me six years to get the fuck on YouTube.Brad Crowell 34:48  Right? So that's kind of amazing. And you asked her, like, how did you do that? And she said, Honestly, I just get so excited about the thing that I'm focusing on that I want to share it. And I didn't, don't approach it in the way that, like I'm the authority. Listen to me. No, she's excited about this thing. She's nerding about out about it, and then she's sharing it with others. And that's how you know, that's what gave her the confidence.Lesley Logan 35:12  Well, and also, do you know that, like fear and excitement, the difference is breathing like they're on the same energetic wavelength. But why don't you breathe? Yeah, so if you're afraid or nervous, exhale, and then you can enjoy excitement, because it's the same. Brad Crowell 35:29  That's amazing. Lesley Logan 35:30  According to Gay Hendricks, and you know he is, he is one of the lords around here. Him, by the way, on the day we're recording this, it's not the day you're listening to it. He's 81 today, so, he's an Aquarian. Of course, he is. Of course, that's why I love him.Brad Crowell 35:43  That's amazing. Well, what about you? What was your big takeaway? Lesley Logan 35:47  All right, so I took some of Maria's Be It Action Item as my takeaway. So make sure you have people in your corner. Fuck yeah. If you don't, if your people in your corner suck at life. I know it's hard, it's almost hard to, like, have nobody, but I'd rather you have nobody, and like, you've held a space open for somebody, rather than have people who are who are, like, actively bringing you down. So just keep that in mind. Make sure you have some people in your corner. And she said, it's important that we nurture those relationships that you've built. It doesn't have to be big, but it should be something you can hold on to. And this is interesting, like, I'm always just reflecting, you know, yesterday in our photo shoot like I'm used to having a lot of friends I only saw once a month because we live in LA and there's traffic. And I love those friendships. And they don't have to to me. It goes back to me. It doesn't have to be big, doesn't have to be a weekly relationship, but it is something you have to have tangible. You have to hold on, to have some connections, and those are people you have in your corner. And so if you haven't yet, take some time go through your context, who's actually in your corner? Which nurture? Which relations do you want to nurture back and because in the hard moments, people who show up for you and see you for you are can reflect back to you all the good stuff that you are. And this has happened to me more times than I can imagine. And we have a friend who is recently going through something that's really quite frustrating and awful. And you know what? We don't talk to her very often, but we heard what happened. Someone else told us who's also in her corner. And a bunch of us are like, Oh, here's how we can support you. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, and she didn't ask for that help. I'm sure she didn't even know what kind of help we can give. But when you have relationships, you nurture, even it's on a quarterly basis, people will show up for you, and they'll and you'll show up for them, and it's, and it's quite it makes life a lot more fun. Brad Crowell 37:17  Yes, yeah. I definitely agree. You know, I think that we've talked about it before, being intentional about who you let weigh in, you know, or how, how much weight you give to their feedback, you know. So that's important. But I think also too, you know, there was an element to this conversation about allowing life to life and for relationships to change, which I also really appreciated, because I have always had a fear of loss, of letting go, I don't know why, and I've always struggled with, like, friendships drifting apart. And it was really interesting to hear her say, hey, it's kind of okay that that happens, and it allows you to take stock of who actually is paying attention and, like, in your world and choosing to be in your world instead of you, you know, trying to drag people along.Lesley Logan 38:07  Well, and also, I think, like, if they're really meant to be in your life, and you run into them, or something comes up and you call them, it will pick back up. Maybe there might have to be a quick conversation, or, like, why there's been so much space, but it'll pick back up. You know, we recently saw someone I haven't talked to in years. They were a part of my life for quite some time, and I had reflected about, like, why I let that kind of fade out. And when I saw them, I was like, yeah, it's okay. Like, I'm still okay with that decision. And I think it's hard, because we go, should I have a whole conversation with them? Should we dialog? Should we have, like, a whole like, here's why our relationship didn't know you don't need to have those things. You just can move on, because no one is right or wrong in these instances. It's just the way life goes. And you evolve, and they evolve, and sometimes that evolution is together and sometimes it's apart, and you can still support them from afar. I'm Lesley Logan. Brad Crowell 38:56  And I'm Brad Crowell. Lesley Logan 38:57  Go get The Pilates Body book if you haven't already, you should. Breathe Love & Magic
Is February’s Astrology Causing You To Panic?

Breathe Love & Magic

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 19, 2026 31:19

February has been so crazy! With this annular solar eclipse, it feels like all hell is breaking loose. Here’s what’s happening astrologically. Is Everyone Panicking? My phone has been busy with texts, voice mails and calls where friends and clients are panicking and some wanted to run something by me. It's not light stuff. It's relationship strain, career panic, health worries, friendship fractures, spiritual doubt, or tech meltdowns. What the heck is happening? I thought this was going to be a good year with movement and the power to create? What’s fascinating is that the people reaching out are not normally dramatic. They tend to be savvy women who meditate, journal, regulate, and reflect. They usually handle life relatively easily. And yet this month, everyone's nervous system is on fire. Let's zoom out and take the wise-woman view which I sometimes call the 100-foot perspective. When you understand the energy, you stop personalizing it, and that alone can calm you down First let me say, don’t worry, the sky is not falling. But the astrology is wild and crazy. What is An Annular Solar Eclipse? February 17th brought an annular solar eclipse in Aquarius, known as the “ring of fire.” In this type of eclipse, the Moon doesn't completely block the Sun. The center is obscured, but a ring of light burns around the edges. A total eclipse feels like a blackout and reset. But, this is different. The core is hidden, while the edges are illuminated. You may not see the full picture or answer yet, but the pressure is lighting up what's out of alignment and not working. Aquarius governs community, technology, collective systems, online spaces, innovation, and the nervous system. It's about the group, and also the rebel who stands apart from it. Square with Uranus This is beyond my pay grade when it comes to astrology, but the eclipse forms a square to Uranus. That’s the planet of shocks, disruption, sudden change, and liberation through chaos. In astrology, a square creates tension and it pushes and exposes what isn't working. Now we have an Aquarian eclipse about collective structures and identity, under pressure from Uranus, which breaks what's rigid and outdated. That alone explains a lot. So, friendships may be strained, you might have tech glitches, and online spaces could seem volatile. And, you may have a  strong sense that “I cannot keep doing this the same way.” Spiritually, think of it this way – the annular solar eclipse opens a portal, and Uranus is the lightning bolt shoving you through instead of letting you tiptoe at your own pace. No wonder everyone feels wired. Year of the Fire Horse But that's not all. In the Chinese zodiac, the 17th marked the start of the Fire Horse year. Fire Horse energy is bold, restless, fast-moving, impulsive, and freedom-driven. It does not like feeling trapped and pushes for action. That layers impulsive Fire Horse energy on top of an Aquarian eclipse that demands reinvention. And again, we're still not done. Saturn and Neptune Around February 20, Saturn and Neptune meet at zero degrees Aries, which is the very beginning of the zodiac. Think of it as the cosmic starting line. Saturn represents structure, responsibility, and reality. Neptune represents dreams, spirituality, illusion, and dissolution. When they come together, illusions dissolve and dreams get tested. And this is happening in Aries, the sign of identity, initiation, and self-definition. So if you've been thinking, “Who am I now?” or “What do I even believe?” or “Why doesn't my old coping strategy work?” you're not losing it. This is a deep archetypal reset. It can feel like the old container cracked, and the new one hasn't been built yet. And this is on top of that annular solar eclipse. Why This Feels Like a Crisis When I look at the conversations I've had, there's a pattern. It's not random chaos, but more like a threshold of energy. In other words, there’s an energy shift on the horizon. The Aquarius eclipse with Uranus activation is shaking collective and social structures. People are realizing they've over-given to groups and stayed in communities that drain them. People are waking up to reaalize they built businesses around systems that don't fit anymore, or curated identities that now feel warong or false. There may be a strong sense that insists, “I can't keep being this version of myself” that’s running through everything. Discernment and Wisdom Then, Saturn and Neptune in Aries step in and ask, “If not that…then who are you?” It’s too much! Let me explain this last piece. Neptune dissolves certainty while Saturn demands accountability. Spiritual bypassing won't work now. Neither will shifting into fantasy or hiding by over-working. And you can’t rescue everyone either. Yet, Fire Horse energy insists that you do something! That’s why people feel tempted to quit their job, leave the relationship, and burn bridges. Or you might want to make a giant leap to somewhere else. Some leaps will be aligned with your highest good, but many will be simply reactive. That’s why discernment is everything right now. Be wise with your choices. The Nervous System Factor Eclipse season is always trying, especially teh annular solar eclipse. Aquarius and Uranus both connect to the nervous system. When Uranus is activated, people feel wired, restless, and jittery. Sleep can get disrupted and you're likely mentally overstimulated. Plus, your old coping mechanisms stopped working. Yikes! Then Neptune makes things feel foggy and emotionally porous. So, there’s this very strange combination of high alert and low clarity. which explains why you might feel like something big is happening, but you don't know what it is or how to handle it. Yup, that's eclipse energy. Eclipses obscure before they reveal. With an annular eclipse, the center is blocked while the edges glow. You can't see the core answer yet, but the misalignments are lit up. The Spiritual Opportunity The Aquarian eclipse asks for a reset in your relationship with community and the future. What are you actually trying to create? Saturn and Neptune ask whether your dream is real enough to stand on. Aries demands to know who you are when everything external is stripped away. Fire Horse asks what you're willing to risk for freedom. Of course all of this can feel terribly destabilizing! Any identity shift triggers the ego's alarm system. OK, this could help a bit. You do not need to reinvent yourself overnight. Take time to refine your spiritual identity and distinguishing fantasy from your genuine intuition. What Can You Do? Your very first step is to regulate your nervous system before analyzing or doing anything. Before trying to figure anything out, be sure to calm your system and steady your body. 1. Calm the nervous system. Extend your exhale longer than your inhale. Hum for 3-minutes. Walk outside without your phone. Eat warm, simple food slowly. Reduce scrolling and screen time. Put limits on how much collective drama you consume. 2. Assess your communities. Notice which conversations leave you wired or resentful. Where do you feel obligated instead of connected? Tihs powerful reset does not require any dramatic exits. Sometimes just  pulling back where you've been over-giving will do the trick. 3. Clear your energy. Before making big decisions, be sure to clear your energy field. You can smudge, take a detox bath, get some energy work.  Then, decide the roles you're done with like the fixer, the peacemaker, the one who holds it all together. Consciously release what roles no longer serve you. 4. Get specific about what you want. Think about what you want. Do you want to collaborate or have a partnership? What kind of creative risk are you willing to take? What changes will you make to improve how you approach life and work? The good news is that fire energy when focused, is transformative. But when that same energy is scattered, it can burn everything. 5. Limit venting. This might surprise you but while venting can be good, you can’t let it go on too long. Go ahead and vent for 20-minutes, then take one grounding action. This way, you don’t risk causing yourself to spiral down any further. Small, steady choices are far better than panic-fueled leaps. If You’re Steady Now, Know This If right now you aren’t feeling all this craziness, you might be like me. I’m calm as long as the storm isn’t mine. Maybe you digest change faster than others. Yet, if everyone is calling you to talk things over, you cannot save everyone. Take a break and turn off your phone. Drink tea or read a book. Take a walk or a nap. Let yourself reset before showing up for others, so you don’t allow yourself to get drained. I got zapped when everyone called the same day! Crossing a Threshold February is a threshold month, which right now feels unstable because you're between identities. You are at a turning point, along with the entire collective. The best thing you can do is to slow down your decisions. Protect your attention and strengthen your body. Use the fire consciously and take your time. When the astrology is this crazy like this, become quiet and watchful. Listen more carefully to what is actually true for you. All your inner knowing to guide you through this rough patch. February is revealing what no longer fits. That revelation may be uncomfortable, but it is helpful to move you forward for your highest good. In the long run, this annular solar eclipse and all the other planetary alignments are deeply supportive of helping you create the life you are here to live and enjoy. Dearest Listeners,This episode is a bit lengthy, but well worth your time, if I must say so myself.  I just realized that I'm going to begin calling my approach to astrology "Soul Speak" astrology.  As with each episode, I review them before they reach your ears.  Yes, there have been a few times when I've had to redo a recording. In this episode, I can sense an urgency which I am entitling "The Aquarian Calling".  While listening to what I'm sharing with you, I hear my "Inner Wise" self asking me what am I willing to change in my life?  In all honesty and with transparency,  I'm starting with doing greater promotion of the content I am producing each month. Because this Solar Eclipse is sitting at the top of my chart, on my Midheaven, I'm in essence receiving a message that it's time to step up, and answer my "Aquarian Calling and Go Far".I'm encouraging you to listen,  turn and embrace your "Genius Zone" and set your intention on something that is uniquely yours.   Why is this important?  If each of us fully, truthfully and courageously embraces something uniquely of self, this is where things around us will begin to change.  Collectively and personally this new beginning starts with fully believing in the vision of our worthiness.  Don't be fooled by the ignorant depictions, images, name-calling and all the other mean spirited nonsense.  It's of utmost importance to understand who is in a prison of fear and bondage.  Freedom is a deep self awareness of yourself.  Keep knowing no can give you freedom, it is yours by divine right.  Remember the late great Nelson Mandela was kept in a prison for 27 years, but all that time he was free inside of himself.  Finally, the outer reality matched with what he always understood, he was free. This is the Aquarian superpower, the ability to own and bring truth, freedom and revolution into reality.  Aquarius is also the sign of standing with other people to initiate change by holding a collective vision that wants everyone to have their life valued, respected, honored and celebrated.  Be a rebel in that "Genius Zone" area of your life, and you will be enough, and you will "Go Far". This Solar Eclipse offers the potential to start a whole new chapter in your life.  We each have a unique story.  You are the only person who knows what your story is all about. Let's have an Astrology Conversation. I look forward to seeing you. On this episode, Jeff Hinshaw guides you through a somatic meditation and energy update connectd to the Aquarius New Moon Solar Eclipse (February 17, 2026), a powerful threshold moment inviting radical freedom, collective liberation, and visionary action. As we stand between major shift, Neptune newly in Aries (since January 26), Saturn entering Aries on February 13, and their historic conjunction at 0° Aries on February 20, we're asked to merge dream with discipline and take courageous steps toward a new 29-year cycle. With the North Node set to enter Aquarius in July and the Year of the Fire Horse igniting bold momentum, this eclipse offers a preview of emerging collective storylines around collaboration, mutual aid, and shared vision. In addition, on this Aquarius New Moon Solar Eclipse episode, Jeff Hinshaw is joined by Chef Stephanie Shershow for a conversation on friendship, service, ritual, and soul evolution. We reflect on meeting in India in January 2024 as Pluto entered Aquarius, the karmic bond that formed between us, and the many initiations Stephanie has moved through since—losing her home in a hurricane, the passing of her father, relationship endings, and her cross-country move west. Through it all, she shares how decades of sobriety, Kundalini yoga, and daily spiritual practice have become a non-negotiable anchor. Together we explore the Aquarian archetype of the water bearer—the outsider who returns to nourish the collective—and how Stephanie embodies this through her Aquarius Sun, Taurus Moon, and Libra Rising: the friendly humanitarian in a field of rolling greens, ensuring the revolution is well fed. We also dive into the power of food as ritual and how feeding someone can be an act of dignity and devotion. Stephanie shares stories from her work in recovery centers and her intuitive relationship to nourishment, while we preview our upcoming Aquarius New Moon gathering in Joshua Tree celebrating the launch of the Lonely Planet Travel Tarot. Inspired by tarot archetypes, Morocco, Kyoto, and shared global journeys, the evening weaves together mocktails, cherry blossoms, cacao, music, and collective intention. This episode is ultimately an invocation: to practice radical service, to make meaning through personal myth, and to remember that gathering around food and ritual is ancient. Plus, we celebrate the launch of the Lonely Planet Travel Tarot at  Maha Rose in Brooklyn, New York on February 20 with special guest Lindsay Mack—a gathering aligned with this rare cosmic turning point.   Mentorship & Sessions Cosmic Cousins!  I have openings for one-on-one mentorships for those seeking ongoing guidance and support on their personal or astrological journey. As well as openings for Deep Dive Astrology Readings and Tarot Soul Journey sessions. These are available online, so you can join from anywhere in the world.   Cosmic Cousins Links Newsletter 6-Month Online Fools Tarot Journey Mentorship Deep Dive Astrology Readings Tarot Soul Journey  Cosmic Cousins Substack & Memberships Intro & Outro Music by:  Felix III

Michael welcomes back Dr. Michael Lennox, a world-renowned astrologer and dream expert, to break down the celestial "trigger point" that is reshaping our reality. Having predicted the chaos of 2020 and the intensity of 2025, Dr. Lennox returns with his most urgent warning yet: the "Great Fracturing" has officially begun. They dive into the astrological "shot heard round the world", the rare meeting of Saturn and Neptune in Aries, and what it means for the shifting ground beneath our feet. From the literal face-offs in Minnesota to the internal "civil war" of the heart, this conversation is a masterclass in maintaining sanity as the old world's manhole covers pop off, revealing the shadows beneath. Key Topics: The February 2026 Solar Eclipse: Why this "unstable" eclipse is a monumental new cycle starting on top of the U.S. unconscious. Saturn and Neptune in Aries: The significance of the "Lord of Karma" and the "Planet of Inspiration" meeting at the 0° initiatory point of the zodiac. The "Extinction Graph": Why old systems double down on power right before they collapse, and how this signals a reinvented future. America's "Basement": How the Pluto Return is putting a clear light into the hidden shadow of violence and division so it can finally be healed. The Shadow of Narcissism: Moving away from over-inflated self-focus toward the Aquarian era of collective service. Valuable Nightmares: Why violent or disturbing dreams are actually a "gift" for the psyche during times of massive landscape alteration. Radical Self-Forgiveness: Why forgiving yourself is the ultimate act of sovereignty and the only way to stop the war within. This is your spiritual roadmap for the coming "fire." If you've been feeling the acceleration and wondering when it will stop, let Dr. Lennox show you how to find your voice, your center, and your courage in the midst of the bloom. It truly is knowing who you want to be and loving yourself enough to do the things that get you there. Lesley Logan 0:13  Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. Lesley Logan 0:55  All right. Welcome back Be It babe. How are you? Okay. So we are finishing our self love series for now. I mean, maybe we'll add on to it. And also, it's really crazy. Is in between recording one and two, I interviewed two amazing women who will come out at different times, but they were, they were validating how important the series is and just the words that they were giving. And so I know that the Be It pod is always giving tips on loving yourself and and, you know, getting to know yourself. But I'm hoping that this episode gives you some tools, some simple ones. I have some that you guys sent in. So thank you so much. And then just some things that to think about, right? And then we'll also do a burnout series. And they, they, they go hand in hand, and they go hand in hand with the habits series, right? So all this to say that being it till you see it is not about faking it, and it's also not about overdoing it. It truly is knowing who you want to be and loving yourself enough to do the things that get you there. And you're not going to like everything, right? It's going to it's not going to be easy if it's easy you'd already be there and then you have something else to want. So this is the tools episode. So if you didn't listen to the first one, please go back to the first one, because I think what the first one, what we talked about, was, what is self-love like? Why do we struggle with it? Why do we need it? And then what does that look like, right? So now we're in the tools, tools for loving yourself. So in preparation for this series, one of the one of the things that I actually read that I thought the whole series would be about, and it's just part of it. There's actually a book. It's called Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It.Lesley Logan 2:30  And the first half is a bunch of tools, and the second half is a journey of him falling back in love with himself. And that part is actually a really quick read, and it's beautiful, and it's like short snippets, and the vulnerability is really amazing, and the tools are really cool. So one of the tools in the book that I particularly liked and have used, are you ready? You will play a song that you like that makes you feel good. Okay? If you don't know that, here's a simple one. Go into whatever music app you use, hit instrumental music so that it has no words, okay? And then just hit play on one. Then you're gonna close your eyes and listen and for the length of the song, every time you inhale, you say, I love myself. And every time you exhale, you let something go. Inhale, I love myself. Exhale, let something go, right? Just let enough. You just let the air go inside, If your mind wanders, you just go, am I inhaling or exhaling? I'm inhaling. I love myself. I love me. I love what I do for me. I love who I am, right? That I really like because there's a lot of tools out there, and I might even say some that I'm like, okay, I think this could work for somebody, but it might not work for me, and that's fine, right? That's there's gonna be tools that don't work for me. Maybe that doesn't, but I actually really love that. Really love that one. Here's a couple others that I think are fabulous and might work for you, don't work for my ADHD frame, but I that one I love, that one is easy to do. I can do it while I'm driving, you know. So, all right, some other tools, so tools to foster self-love include mindfulness and meditation and journaling to process thoughts and practicing self-compassion by training yourself with kindness and other helpful practices or setting boundaries and practicing gratitude and celebrating accomplishments. We already talked about what self-love looks like, and self love looked like, having self-compassion and kindness and having boundaries. And so, of course, the tools include doing those things. But if they're hard for you, how do you do them? And also, like, I'm a big fan of, like, what am I supposed to journal? What am I doing anyways? And so, of course, you're you know, journals are there to help process your thoughts and emotions and protect your experiences and gain a better understanding of yourself. But like, what do you journal? So some of the past be a guest have mentioned a few different things of journaling. And so one guest, David Corbin, he said, just grab a piece of paper. Write a question at the top of it, close your eyes and meditate on that question. And with your eyes closed, write down stuff. Because there's also like, something about like, your brain will remember what you wrote down and what's important will be there. But sometimes just getting off the page, we've also had people who talk about, like, the morning pages, just like getting up and writing things down on a page. And not even worrying what it is. In our Tarot episode, we talked about, you know, like, you can draw a card and then have reflections questions for that card that day. So there are a million different ways, if you also just are, like, I need something better. Look just literally Google journal prompts for self-love. Okay, you'll get something. And then you can journal that you can't do it wrong. Now, I don't particularly like journaling on a computer, so I will say that might be something you might want to do in an actual journal. And I know you might have a reader handwriting I can't read mine, but I do think it's really helpful. I notice when I journal regularly, I get to the bottom of like, Oh, I'm in fear right now, you know, it's sometimes hard to self-reflect without being able to write down the things that are on there. Lesley Logan 5:45  Mindfulness and meditation. So I actually this, UCLA has a Mindfulness Institute, and they actually have classes on mindfulness and like, you can mindfully suck on a frozen grape, right? Like, mindfulness is that you can mindfully walk like you can go outside and just like I'm gonna take one step in front of the other. So mindfulness is really about being present. Meditation is like sitting down and like clearing your head as best you can and focus on your breath. And something I love about meditation experts is that you can, if you if your mind wanders, just go, okay, and now I'm back right? So there's a ton of different meditation practices out there. If you've read the book Breathe, there's some really great breath work meditations in there. And so I highly recommend, if you don't have a meditation or mindfulness practice, what I would suggest you do is, like, actually, kind of go on a journey of trying out ones that you would like. This is part of the self-compassion. This is part of the boundaries. This is part of the self-care. The self-love is like, love yourself enough to go, Okay, do I like sitting still for five minutes? Oh, do I prefer walking around the block without my phone, right? Do I prefer walking with one footstep in front of the other? Do I like a guided meditation? Do I need to hear someone's voice? Do I like a breathwork meditation? What kind of breath work meditation? Do I like box breathing? Or do I like, you know, Wim, Hof style, things like that. But if that is like, Oh, that'd be a great tool for me to practice my self-love. Then use the habits series to help you figure out a time to do that, and then try out different types of meditation till you find one that works for you. And then I love that self-compassion is going to come next, because you can't have the compassion for yourself if you don't find that meditation practice on day one, right? So it's all self-compassion is basically just like treating yourself the way you treat others. And you know, here's the thing, if we are having people who are like you're you're treating wonderfully, and they're treating like crap, it's because you're treating you like crap and you're like you're getting friendships that are like that, because that feels comfortable to you. So really have some self-compassion talk to have the same kindness and love for yourself as you do with other people. And the same thing when someone else has a mistake or makes it struggling with something like with something like notice how you treat them, and how do you treat yourself, and and you can't do all these things at once, my love, so pick one of these to work on at a time. Lesley Logan 7:50  Positive affirmations. So some people like this, we had Nikole Mitchell, she had a lot of affirmations on Post-Its around her house, and she would take them down when people came over because she didn't want people to know what was going on. But I love having, like, have positive affirmation. There's apps out there that throughout the day will, like, even send you a positive affirmation. Like, have that if that's what you need, especially if you're not so good at noticing the things you are doing wonderfully in this you know, I noticed a lot of people have a hard time sending me wins, right? Lesley Logan 8:18  A gratitude practice. So this one is interesting. Some people in the coaching world love a gratitude practice. Some people hate it. There's like, The Five Minute Journal that's really good about this. The tulip book I was listening to, like,Buy Yourself the Fucking Tulips. Talks about writing about 10 things she likes every day. Some people think that, like, this is stupid. Your gratitude practice doesn't work. Eventually you, like, just keep repeating things. I would say at that point, then you'd move on to a new practice. But if you don't have a gratitude practice, here's a thing about gratitude. My therapist told me, your gratitude and judgment can't live in the same space, right? So if you are struggling to have self-compassion, then I think a gratitude practice is a great way to get that as a tool under your tool belt of self-love. If you're judging yourself, I want you to write down three things. Say three things, I'm grateful for this I'm grateful, like, I'm grateful that I washed my hair today. Like, I think it could be really good. This one's gonna be harder, but I do think it's important. Forgiveness, giving yourself permission to forgive you of past mistakes. So that might include, like, having a moment of grief, or some time you might come up with this in journaling, but like a lot of times, people keep things in their life, or do things in their life that they know are harmful to them longer than they want, and it's hard to let those things go. So sometimes they keep them around because, you know, it's easier to do that, but it's bad, and then we don't, because if we get rid of it, then we have to face this. Oh, my God, I I can't believe I let myself have that in my life for so long, and that's where forgiveness comes in. Self-love is forgiving yourself, right? Maybe your general practice is like, what do I need to forgive myself about? Right? So that you can use these tools together. And then limit self-criticism, and this is where I would encourage you to get a friend involved, and when you are being self-deprecating, which Gay Hendricks, who's episode 400 would say, in his book, The Big Leap, that self-deprecation is actually just part of you pulling like a bit as an upper limit problem, right? But if you are judging yourself or being hard on yourself and it's around people, then I need you to have someone in your life who's gonna go, okay, that's not helpful. We did this in Cambodia, like anytime someone apologize, I told this in another episode, not helpful, right? Not helpful until you can get to the point where you're going not helpful to yourself, right? It can take a village to get unravel the habits we have, right? So behavioral lifestyle tools that would be setting boundaries, you might have to actually just start saying no to everything until you can and then say yes later, because, like most, for the most part, you can say no to a lot of things and then change your mind. And so maybe it's that you have to come up with something in your notes, it's something that I had to do for a long time. Was like, in my notes, I had, like, three different ways to say no, that I could just copy and paste. Oh, it's amazing. I need to check my calendar. Oh, I think we have something going on that night. Let me, for right now it's a no, but I'll check, and if I can change I'll get back to you. Oh, my God, thank you for thinking of me, I feel so honored. I need to take a moment to take a look at my calendar and see if I can do that. Right? Though, all of those were easy for me to pretty much plug and play into almost any invitation anywhere. And then I could get like, the urgency and need for me to be responsive to people. I could solve that. But then it gave me it bought me some time to, Do I really want to go to that thing? Do I want to spend time with those people? Right? No, is a complete sentence, by the way, and so, but it can feel hard, especially if you're not used to it. And the other thing is, like, when you are setting boundaries, you might have to tell people hey, like we had Shari Teigman on the on the podcast coming up, and it's possible it already came out, might come out after this. But this, but I really encourage you to listen to that episode if you haven't, if it's been already out, and if you haven't, then listen to it maybe a couple of times. But she gives some great tips about how to tell people. You know, Hey, before, I was okay with this, and I'm not now, and so it is okay to have been okay with something before and not now, and it might mean addressing that with people who it's not now for, but it's not an attack on them, and it's not that they're an asshole. It's just that you no longer are able to be available in that way, right? And then the thing is, when we set boundaries, we just have to enforce them, and it's not easy. But again, write down different ways. Like, okay, if you know someone's going to break a boundary or asked to do something at a different time that you didn't want them to do, have a pre written thing out. Ask the AI to help you. Hey, my friend wants to change this thing. I don't want to be up at that time. Like, how can I write this thing? It will write it for you. Copy and paste it right until you can figure out how to say, no. You know, oftentimes people don't care. We overthink things. Oh my gosh. I watched this, like, really funny reel where, like, was based on, like, horoscope signs. And like, this one guy was, like, these three signs, and the person was like, you know, I thought you were gonna come over. And then he's like, I you thought I was gonna come over? Like, he's reacting to it as a like, Aquarian, Scorpio, whatever another person is, like, three other things, and it's just like, come on over. Like, it was just really, I wish I'm not doing a great job explaining it, but like most people, we're reading it with this negative, oh my God. I'm gonna let them down when I send this, and they're going, they're, you know, it's like, Oh, no big deal, right? Not a big deal. It's okay, yeah, and it's possible that in setting boundaries, you do lose some relationships in that way. And I would just say, like it probably wasn't the most healthy relationship for you in the first place, because if loving yourself means they can't be in your life, then then it's possible it's just a relationship out to expire, right? Or, if you really want the relationship to stay, you will definitely want to listen to Barb Betts episode about how to create a relationship in a way that works with them, right, that also works with you, which is like, what else can you relate on if this thing that you have a boundary on is no longer relatable? Yeah? Lesley Logan 13:56  Self-care routines. You know, a big fan of the self-care routine, but you need to have self-care routines. And self-care routines do need to be a daily, weekly thing. Self-care is not a reward. Self-care is a need. It's a need. All right? This one, of course, I love. This tool is amazing. Celebrate achievements. You guys need to email me your achievements in the beitpod.com/questions and achievements can be I got out of bed today. Achievements can be I finally signed up for that class I've been wanting to go to. Achievements can be, like, I tried a new hobby. They can be I told a friend, no. There's so many things. They can also be big, like I got a promotion. There are so many different types of achievements, but you have to celebrate them. It's part of self-love. If you're never celebrating the things you did do, it's going to start to feel like everything you do all these things for all these people, and there's like, what's the point? Well, the point is like celebrating the moments in between the things that like, oh, wow, look what I did, right? You got to celebrate that. Lesley Logan 14:52  Spending time alone. Oh, my God, this is not a problem for me. I love this. But self love is also like taking time to get to know yourself and be alone with yourself. Often, and if you have a hard time with that, I highly recommend like figuring out what's going on. You don't have to be an introvert. You can still get energy from people, but being able to be alone with yourself is a sign you've got a lot of self-love. You love being with you. Lesley Logan 15:15  Surround yourself with positivity. So this is it's possible, like I went through a time in 2020 where, like, people were just, oh, we all did, right? And people were just being really negative, and the calls were just often really negative. And I just said, like, you know, right now I'm available to be a friend on these topics, but not that one. And that pissed some people off, and I haven't talked to them, and I'm sad about that, like that, I don't take that lightly at all. But also, I needed a different way of a friendship at that time, and that is okay, and I'm allowed to need that, and they are allowed to have needed a friend who needed to bitch with them, and that's okay, right? But loving yourself is truly making sure that you are around people who not just support you but uplift you and like you feel good after you leave, right? If you're around people that it just feels like after you leave, you feel like the energy sucked out. It's time to have some self-love and put some boundaries in place. Yeah? And then clear your space. So this is not an action item for any of you who use clearing your space as a reason why you do not take care of yourself. But if you're like Lesley, I do all these things and I still don't feel like I have it, maybe there is too much clutter and it's affecting your brain, being able to see all the possibilities that you're doing and have love for yourself. There's also some suggestions for self-love that having some goal oriented tools, so like making sure you're setting realistic goals as a part of your self-love. I see a lot of people that we coach set some unrealistic goals, then not hit those goals and then judge themself. So it might be time to have some realistic goals. And that doesn't mean you lower your standards, or you lower your ability to dream, but maybe it's just about making like smaller stepping stones of a major goal so that you can work towards actually accomplishing that, and then you have to celebrate that you did it, right? Part of self-love is just also knowing what your strengths are. I'm very clear on what my strengths are and are not, and loving myself means saying no to things that are I know I'm going to do a terrible job. I'm going to feel bad about how you did it. Yes, that means I have to hire people, and I have to ask for help, and I have to ask for support, but I can lean so much into my strengths, and I have more energy after the afterwards because of it. So we've had several guests on this, on the Be It Pod who who do strength testing. And I really, highly, highly recommend checking out the couple guests we've had on that and just going through and getting help on identify what your strengths are, right, and then embracing creativity. So you know that could be hobbies, that could be just an outlet you do. It could just be like, maybe you go take an artist class, maybe go take a stone carving class. Like, find something. But finding some way to be creative is often a really great way to not just practice compassion and kindness, but also to get to know yourself. You know, can be kind of meditative, and we have to be mindful in a creative space. Lesley Logan 18:03  So the other things I will just say is we have a couple more categories that I want to explore, emotional, mental self-love, and that is going to include the boundaries and the self-compassion and the forgiving yourself and then challenging negative talk and spending time reflecting. And this one is we haven't talked about this yet, not comparing. You know, they say comparison is the thief of joy. Comparison is okay if it means that you're able to see what you want and you don't want in your life, but then you have to be curious, right? So I love that the emotional self and mental self love tools are very similar to all the other types of tools we've had, because sometimes we can have self-love in some areas and not in other areas. And so hopefully that helps you. You know, self-love is also taking care of the physical body that you have, and that is going to be the movement rituals you have and the movement practices you have, and but also self-love is honoring your body. Now, I just was talking with this girl that I used to teach, and she was asking questions, and I was like, you know, I'm so grateful that people have discovered these studies that show that as women, if we honor our cycles and we move within them, we can be stronger, faster, better, right? And so listening to your body is self-love. So sometimes I hear people are hard on themselves for not going and going for a run or not going and lifting as hard that week because they needed to do more yoga, that's listening to your body you are practicing self-love. Don't be so hard on yourself, right? So do you see how like we tend to do something as self-love, and then we tend to be harsh to ourselves, which negates the self-love that we did. So honoring your body, and then I would celebrate that as an achievement. And then something else you can think about is, and that's this really cool thing that I discovered, if you were truly struggling with, like, how do I love myself? You know, there's the idea of, like, how do you like to give love? Do you like to give loves and word of affirmations? Do you like to give love in the form of physical gifts? Do you like to give love in the form of touch or quality time or acts of service, you know, like the five love languages, and I know those are debunked a bit in a bit, but also, like they're applicable, right? Instead of thinking about like partnering up with people, think of like, how do you like to give love and then give yourself that in return? So if you love to tell people things about that fall into words of affirmation, then it's time for you to do words of affirmation towards you. If you love to give people physical gifts, then give yourself some physical gifts. If you love touch, then go get yourself a massage, right? Like if you love quality time, spend some quality time with yourself. If you love to do things for people, do things for you. So try that out in your effort to make self-love part of your daily life. So I think it's just there's some really great things to that. If you listen to me on that and you're like, I need some more ideas. Definitely reach out to Be It Pod. I can help you with that. I've got some I got some extra tools under here, but I just wanted I don't want to overwhelm you with tools. I feel like that is, is the thing that these the listeners that I tend to attract, like, give me everything. I'm going to try 17 things at once. I just want you to try, like, one thing at a time, because I want self-love to be a thing that you can be it till you see, right? Lesley Logan 21:04  But I will put this in the show notes. There are a bunch of mantras. I have 58 mantras here for self-love, and I'm going to make sure my team has it for the show notes. And here's a few of them that just stood out to me as I read through. I deserve love just as I am. I'm a beacon of self-love. I choose to see the beauty within me. Every cell in my body is infused with love. I'm worthy of sel- care and self-love. I believe in myself fully. I deserve to be happy. And that's that's hopefully what this does, because, like, look, I love doing all the interviews, but I also think that information without integration is constipation. That's what I had a coach say to me once, so all the tools in the world, all the tips and advice don't work if you don't first love you, right? They just become more things. Oh, I promised you guys. I promised you guys some tools from you guys. So these are real people who have real tools for self-love, okay? Pilates, education and gratitude towards myself, not just the universe, for the good things I made happen. Brook Siler, Pilates, Self-love tools, equal, baths, learning new skills. She's doing tennis, not escaping stress with alcohol. Beautiful. And then Pilates Physio Essay, that's Sonia. Tools, booking in sessions that are not allowed to be moved, whether it's on my own workout or paid, it's in. Heidi Malone said, I schedule at least one evening a week to relax after work I read or I watch a comfort show. These are beautiful, beautiful. So do you see how those reflect all the different tools that were suggested? The time with the self, the movement, the creativity, right, the gratitude practice, celebrating achievements, self-care movement, you are so loved by so many people. And my hope from these two episodes is that you truly find love for yourself. And if you haven't already, send in other ideas and wins. Send in the wins, but also send in your other tools, and we'll put them in another show. Thank you so much. Until next time, Be It Till You See It. Lesley Logan 23:28  That's all I got for this episode of the Be It Till You See It Podcast. Tending the First FlameThis week carries the feeling of a true threshold—quiet, consequential, and far-reaching.On Monday, Neptune enters Aries, beginning a long cycle that reshapes how meaning, courage, and responsibility are lived. This is not a dramatic event, but a change in atmosphere. After more than a decade of Neptune in Pisces—marked by porous boundaries, saturation, and confusion about what was ours to carry—the guiding question shifts:Not What am I absorbing? But Where do I stand?Neptune in Aries does not ask us to feel more or imagine harder. It asks for self-location—the courage to inhabit a stance without collapsing into urgency or reactivity. The waters begin to recede. Intention starts to matter again, not as force, but as orientation.Midweek, Mars conjunct Pluto in Aquarius brings collective pressure into focus. This is energy moving through systems—exposing where power has been distorted, coerced, or frozen in place. In Aquarius, the deeper question is not who controls, but how power circulates. What structures support life, innovation, and shared belonging—and which ones are straining past their limits?Aquarius carries an alchemical gift: innovation, egalitarian vision, and the capacity to imagine beyond inherited hierarchies. This is radical change not for chaos, but in service of a more inclusive future.Mercury conjunct Venus in Aquarius offers a moment for clear, values-based conversation. Say less. Mean what you say. Listen for coherence rather than volume. As the week turns, the Full Moon in Leo arrives alongside Imbolc in the Celtic wheel—the ancient marker of returning light. Imbolc does not promise spring; it signals its first stirring. The ground may still look frozen, but warmth has returned beneath the surface. A flame is kept—not to blaze, but to endure. The Leo Full Moon brings heart and creative life-force into dialogue with the Aquarian field. This is the conversation between individual expression and collective good. Not self-erasure, and not self-promotion—but the weaving of unique presence into life-giving change that serves more than oneself. This is not a week for dramatic declarations. It is a week for orientation.Neptune in Aries does not reward urgency or spectacle.Mars–Pluto in Aquarius does not reward force without wisdom. The Leo Full Moon asks not for attention, but for heart.Reflective Questions for the WeekWhere do I sense something wanting to begin, even if it's still fragile or unnamed? What am I no longer willing to absorb or carry forward? How can my individuality serve life-giving change rather than react to pressure?Let this be a week of keeping faith with what has just begun, even if you're the only one who knows it's there.Podcast poem: Eagle Song by Joy HarjoSupport the showGo to Sheila's website for information for transformational resources: https://www.ontheedgesofchange.com/home-page This episode was co-created with generative AI, engaged as a soul-aligned ally in service of transformation. Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. Lesley Logan 0:44  Hi, Be It babe. Happy birthday weekend. Well, it's my birthday weekend. Is it your birthday weekend? I know a lot of Aquarians. Hi. It's actually a Fuck Yeah Friday episode, and that means we celebrate wins that you've sent in, a win of mine. We start to see how wins can exist everywhere, and a little mantra for our weekend. So, first, have to do the inspiration. First have to do inspiration. I am so sorry. It's my own show, and I forgot my own order, also laughing to myself, because I actually went in to do this, and then got distracted with my ADHD, and then then I got distracted, and now I'm here. So welcome. Welcome to a podcast with someone with ADHD. You know, we're just we're just making it work. Lesley Logan 1:26  Okay, so here we go. Here's the inspiration that I found, and I this is really cool. Oh, this is really cool. So excited. This blew my mind, and I'm so excited to share with you. 70 years ago, a woman discovered the structure of DNA, but two Cambridge men stole her work and won the Nobel Prize. She was erased from history and died of cancer. This is a story of the biggest theft in science, and its main character, Rosalind Franklin. So at the King's College in London, a brilliant young scientist made groundbreaking discoveries about DNA structure. Her name was Rosalind Franklin, using advanced X ray crystallography, she captured the clearest images of DNA ever seen inside the famous photo 51 and here's why it was important. And you can get this on her Wiki org. Photo 51 was revolutionary. So there's an image of this like, you know, it looks kind of like a baseball. After 100 hours of X ray exposure had showed clear X patterns that suggest a helical structure. Franklin has already concluded that DNA likely had a regular, repeating structure, but was meticulously gathering more and more data before publishing. On January 30th 1953 the theft that changed biology occurred in a dimly lit King's College London office. Maurice Wilkins took out a folder containing Photo 51, Franklin's clearest X ray image of DNA, and showed it to James Watson. When Watson saw the photo, he reportedly became so excited he could barely concentrate. The X pattern was precisely what he and Crick needed. He rushed back to Cambridge, sketching the image from memory on a newspaper during his train ride. Within hours of returning, Watson and Crick began building their now famous metal model of DNA. They use Franklin's precise measurements from Photo 51 data, they had no permission to access, determine the exact dimensions of their model. Their paper announcing DNA structure was published on April 25th 1953. Franklin's own paper appeared on the same issue. However, it was placed third after Watson and Crick's despite containing the critical experimental evidence that proved their model, Franklin's only credit, a brief acknowledgement of having been stimulated by general knowledge of her work. The reality, without her Photo 51 and unpublished analysis, Watson and Crick would have been discovered months or years behind. Discovery would have been months or years behind. The final result came. Final insult, excuse me, came in 1962 Watson Crick and Wilkins shared the Nobel Prize in Medicine. Rosalind Franklin never saw that recognition. She died of ovarian cancer in 1958 at just 37 years old, likely caused by her extensive work with X ray radiation, Franklin's story is evidence of disturbing pattern science. Women's contributions get being minimized, credit taken by male colleagues, critical discoveries going unrecognized. Even Watson's 1968 book the double helix portrayed her dismissively, the truth emerged slowly over decades, her X ray work was crucial. Without Photo 51 no DNA model. Her mathematical analysis was pioneering. Her experimental techniques were groundbreaking. Today, Franklin is finally being recognized multiple buildings and programs named after her. Her face on medical walls, books document her achievements a Mars rover named Rosalind, but she never knew her true impact. Rosalind Franklin died, never knowing she'd helped unlock one of science greatest mysteries, but our rigorous methods, brilliant mind and dedication to truth exemplify what genius really means. I just think, you know, I mean, like, it's, how is it like? Is that positive? Like, now we recognize her and we didn't before, and I just think that, like, sometimes it's really, I think the moral is like, yay. Well, not the moral, but first of all, yay that we celebrate her, and yay now that we know this. And also you're gonna do some crazy amazing things, and someone else is gonna get a win, and it can suck so much, and it hurts, and so first of all, brag about what you're fucking doing. Do it. Brag about it, and I know that word is, like, really hard for a lot of us, women over a certain age, because we were told, like, never to brag, to be quiet, like it's actually ugly and it's not attractive, to brag and you have an ego. Bullshit. No. People need to know the work that you're doing and the work that you're working on so that you you can be the person known for it, right, for the things that you're doing, and I definitely struggle with that a lot. And luckily, like having to put myself out there has really helped me realize that, like, the impact that I'm making is is incredible, and the people who are impacted are doing amazing things that are impacting others, and it's a domino effect. So who am I to play small not talk about the things I'm doing, because then people who need the help that I have don't get it. People who need the help that you have don't get it, they don't know. So brag about yourself a little bit. And I, I love what Rosalind Franklin did, and I just there are, I encourage you, like if you're needing a bit of inspiration, and just like someone to help you, like, get yourself up and keep going, is find books that celebrate the women in history, because there's so many we didn't learn about because they didn't tell us, didn't tell us. So we have to go after it. Go look at it. Lesley Logan 6:33  All right. Let's get to some wins of yours. Here we go. This one is from, oh, it's our lovely Ainsley. My win's from San Fran. These photos pretty much sum it up, having so much fun in San Francisco, going to different studios with Jennifer Maison, a road trip to Sacramento with a show around at the Balanced Body headquarters by lovely Paul, chatting about our Cambodia times, they were all at the retreat in Cambodia together, and then the sushi adventures with Christine Kam-Lynch. Lesley, thank you for bringing us all together. You have dreams of creating community, and your dreams are making our dreams come true, sending me on adventures that would honestly explode my imagination if you would tell me three years ago that this is what I'd be doing. I trusted your process, and this is wild. Thank you. It was an incredible five days. PS, Lesley, I've only just seen the video sent to you. It was birthday margaritas. I'm so freaking proud of you, Ainsley, I'm so freaking proud of you. You know what's fun is, like, even if you had told me, like, if I had been told, like, oh, like, in five, in three years, I'm gonna be doing this, like, I'd be like, okay, great, I love this. Let's figure out we're gonna do it right, like I would believe it, and I'd still be wowed when it happened, because like so few people do what they say they're gonna do, so few people put the work in. I am so obsessed with all that agency and eLevate and OPC members do, because I know they're a fraction of the people out there who will actually do what they said they're going to do. They're a fraction. And so when they do it, I am so freaking excited for them. I love guiding people. You know, you thank me so much, and I, and I do take all of that, I receive all that gratitude. Because seven, well, gosh, how long has eLevate been around, Agency been around? Agency's been around since 2018. Eight years. Like, eight years ago, I didn't know what I was creating, but I knew what I wanted to create. And sitting here reading this win, I get to go, it's like a win for me too, because I get to go, wow. Like we did it. We created this community that expands continents, and people meet up with each other, and they take action, and I'm just so I'm just so stoked for you guys. I like, can't even get the words out. I'm so freaking stoked reliving that win, and though that video was so fun, and reliving what you're doing and but also, like, you have to be proud of what you're doing, because it's actually when I bring people together that isn't easy. But like, it's easy for you, right? Like, I bring people but you guys have to take the next step. You guys had to plan the trip and take the action, and you guys had to commit to it. And then amidst all that was going on, all of your lives still show up and do it. So many people won't, because there's a should have, could have, maybe I should be doing this instead. I'm just like, Thank you for celebrating this win with us, because I know you're inspiring other people to take action and allow themselves to be surprised by what could happen in just a short period of time, just three years, right? We think that's so long and it's so short, I can't believe it's only been three years since we've been doing this. So thank you. Lesley Logan 9:32  Okay, my win. So it's my birthday on Monday, (inaudible). I'm so excited about it, and I know I've celebrated past birthdays, like, I'm like, I love that like, I don't even care that. I'm like, it's another year on the book. It's like, it's like, so fun. But I will say, like, before Covid, I had the most fun birthday parties, and I loved it. And then after covid, you know, there just wasn't a lot of ways to, like, gather people together. Like, I had my first in-person birthday in Vegas. It was my second birthday here, and it was, I was looking at pictures about, like, I don't even know who these people are, because I didn't, I didn't know people. So like, just random people showed up, and that was a win. But then the 2023 and 2024, 2025, I just, 2025, I had, I actually, actually did have a birthday party, and that was really fun. But 2022, 2023 and 2024 I just really wasn't excited to celebrate my birthday. And it's not because I wasn't excited to get older. It's not because I was like, oh, like, I just was like, I just want to be on a vacation. I'm just a little tired. And that's because, like, as the business was growing and we thought we prepared ourselves for the growth of the business, you reflect and refine and go, oh, I should have been two months ahead, not just one month ahead. I should have been like, so you learn from these things, right? But it can take a year to put those new changes to effect. We always want things to happen tomorrow. That's just not how it goes, right? Like, some things do take time. At any rate, I would get to my birthday and I'm just like, I just don't even have the time for the invitations. I just don't even have the time to plan. I just want to, like, spa life. I just want to go to Mexico, like, so I did those things, right? And I'm proud of I'm proud of everything I did. I have great celebrations. But I really did want to have, like, a fun birthday. And I wanted to go back to having fun birthdays and excitement. Last year's was actually a great time. And so I'm like, oh, I remember how great these were. So Priya Parker, I think I told this as, like, an inspirational thing. Priya Parker had posted, she's the author of The Art of Gatherings, great book. And she posted, you know, this thing of, like, dressing for the wrong party party. And so I was like, I'm obsessed with this. Because first of all, everyone who has a January birthday or a late December birthday knows like, no one is excited for your birthday. Some people are doing dry January. Some people are broke because they just got their credit card bill from their holiday. Some people are sick. Like, it's just not like, not the thing. So I definitely have been like, there needs to be a reason to come. And I don't know if this will be an annual theme, because I don't know if people get bored with it, but I freaking love it. I love it. So I threw myself a dress for the wrong party party. It's happening this weekend, so I can't tell you what everyone dressed like, or what I dress up like, because now that it's like, I can dress however I want. I might change my outfit, I don't even know, but I have made the invites. I've sent them out. I have excitedly done it, not reluctantly done it. And so my win is I just found a way to get excited about the thing that I wanted to do, and I just wanted to share that with you, because, like, maybe it's not your birthday, but maybe there's like, things in your life that you know you want to do, but like, there's not an excitement around it. And I encourage you to figure out, like, what is, what is the thing that's surrounding the thing that you want to do that's blocking you from excitement? My, my win I think I just needed a new theme to do the birthday, and it made me so excited to do it. So that's my win. I did it. I no longer. I'm like, oh, it's my birthday. I guess I'll throw something together like I am freaking having a good time. And my husband, if he's listening to this, would go, we're having a good time. There's a funny comedian who does that. And so anyways, if you know him, then you'll have to. Lesley Logan 12:58  All right, my love and affirmation for you to take with you on my birthday weekend, I am complete as I am, others simply support me. I am complete as I am, others simply support me. I am complete as I am, others simply support me. Babe, you are complete as you are, and we are here to support you. So until next time, Be It Till You See It. Lesley Logan 13:23  That's all I got for this episode of the Be It Till You See It Podcast. ! JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN for this & more Astro News You Can Use! @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking which drops today, January 23!Ok, so we're in the first quarter waxing stage of the Cap New Moon since January 18, that asked us to stand our ground through group strength--since this lunation had not only both luminaries but Mars & ME in Capricorn trine to UR Rx in Taurus. In addition, all of these planets—the MO, SU, Mars, & ME in Cap—were sextile NE & SA in Pisces. These sexiles provided opportunities to take action to stand our ground by drawing lines in the sand, while the trines provided the wind at the backs of groups doing so.Venus entered Aquarius January 17, & as this lunation began to wax after January 18 the Sun & Mercury did likewise this past week. In addition, we witnessed Venus conjoin Pluto, the Sun conjoin Mercury, Mercury conjoin Pluto, & then a Sun/Pluto conjunction all between January 19 & today, January 23.Essentially this has moved these inner planets—so prevalent during their conjunctions to the Capricorn Sun at the January 18 Capricorn New Moon providing the seed of standing our ground was planeted—into the sign of Aquarius now.So, the message of this month's lunar cycle was to hold fast to our foundational humanitarian beliefs—those shared by large groups of others as that lunation since it trined progressive forward thinking Uranus, still retrograde in Taurus, & sextiled Saturn & Neptune in empathic Pisces. As we watch this lunation's seeds begin to sprout at January 25's first quarter waxing square of the Taurus Moon to the Aquarius Sun—as all of these planets have not only shifted into Aquarius but conjoined with Pluto there—we can see what the “crisis in action” phase of the lunar cycle calls us now to do. And that's resist fixed Aquarian idealistic philosophies that have hardened into ideological beliefs that do not serve the masses. With the normally placid, calm, & change resistant Taurus Moon in square to the Aquarius Sun, Mars, Pluto, Vesta, Mercury, & Venus, we've got massive tension brewing. The Taurus Moon wants to protect its resources—including its physical body--& faces resistance now from those who believe that cutting healthcare resources for its citizens & that tossing out all immigrants in a xenophobic fit will make America great again.  As we approach this first quarter monthly lunar phase, the Taurus Moon portends such resistance by citizen groups against those groups who hold such fixed ideologies. For example, those tasked to round up, detain, or even injure or kill anyone who looks or sounds “different” (read: not part of the ideologically-inspired socially acceptable “group”) without abiding by any formerly adhered to legal restraints. This may spark some violent actions—we won't know unless & until it happens—between now and January 27 when Mars conjoins Pluto exact in Aquarius. An aspect that can bring the perpetrator & the victim together in the same place at the same time, Mars/Pluto frictional aspects such as the conjunction can lead to an emotionally volatile & intensely physical kind of energy. An energy where one faction tries to disempower (read: overpower) another. Mars is a physical planet, one that takes action. On one hand martial energy represents motivation, ambition, & self-assertion. On the other, it can go over the top and become overly aggressive, bloodthirsty, vengeful, & violent.Pluto, discovered in 1930 when the U.S. was working on creating the atom bomb, represents explosiveness that can lead to an evolutionary transformation. The Mars/Pluto combo perfecting January 27 portends the possibility of a potentially explosive situation between “victims” & “perpetrators” that might spark a wider conflagration. This may be in evidence as residents begin a massive general strike in Minnesota today. According to Aaron Parnas in The Parnas Perspective: “Hundreds of Minnesota businesses, workers, and students are participating in the “ICE Out! Statewide Shutdown,” an economic blackout urging people to skip work, school, and shopping to protest intensified ICE activity in the Twin Cities—sparked by the Jan. 7 killing of Renee Good by an ICE officer.”“More than 300 businesses [are] or donating proceeds, [with] some schools offering remote learning, and organizers framing the action as a nonviolent show of solidarity with immigrant communities despite major financial losses,” he adds. It's called “civil unrest.” It's happened before in this nation. And it will happen again. The results of such actions remain to be seen, but as Martin Luther King—who's memory we just celebrated this past week—said: "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." NEPTUNE RE-ENTERS MARTIAL ARIES JANUARY 27: DISSOLUTION & RECONSTRUCTION?That brings us to the fact that Neptune re-enters the Mars-ruled sign of Aries on January 27. When Neptune entered Aries for the first time in 165 years on March 30, 2025, it conjured up the recurrence of the start of the U.S. Civil War which began the day before Neptune's ingress into the sign of war on April 12, 1861.Saturn follows suit & re-enters Aries February 13, & then conjoins exact with Neptune at 0'45” Aries on February 20. This combination heralds a whole bunch of things, but as these two planets have traveled closely together since last spring, we've clearly seen the dissolution (Neptune) of foundational structure (Saturn), as well as the dissolution of the rules of war (Aries.)That's been obvious since last September when the U.S. began bombing small boats in the Caribbean & the Pacific with no proof that they were carrying drugs headed for the U.S. Hence, it was a violation of international maritime law when shipwrecked survivors were then killed in follow up strikes—rather than captured & interrogated, as per—again—established international maritime law. We've seen the dissolution of U.S. Government structures since the second term of President Trump--one of the most “us versus them” vengeful people hell bent on retribution against anyone who called him on his illegal activities including inciting an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.As this Saturn/Neptune in Aries takes greater hold, we also know that it's heralded the downfall of nations in the past. In 1989, this planetary conjunction was followed by the fall of the Berlin Wall & the decimation of the U.S.S.R. Now, whether it does the same in Iran—or here in America eventually—also remains to be seen. What we do know, however, is that Saturn/Neptune cycle has major implications for the next 36 or so years. Meanwhile Neptune's 14-year transit through a sign means it will remain in Aries until 2038.However, faster moving Saturn transits each sign for approximately 2.5 years. Given that these two will conjoin close to the U.S. natal Sibly chart's IC, or Mars-ruled 4th House of home, security, tradition, the past, memory, & represents this nation's psychological roots, we may well be witnessing the beginning of what's known in traditional astrology as “the end of the matter.”That's because when planets cross the 4th House cusp—in any chart—they begin their upward trajectory, first toward the partnership-oriented 7th House cusp's Descendant & then to the Midheaven's 10th House cusp.Saturn will take seven years from now to reach the U.S. Descendant, then come above the horizon to be more clearly seen, & hit the Midheaven in approximately 14 years. It's then that the reckoning of the past 14 years will become obvious. For more on all of this—including Astro News You Can Use from last week's Davos, Switzerland's World Economic Forum & Trump TACO'g again on his threats to invade Greenland & tariff European nations--as all of those planetary conjunctions to Pluto occurred—tune in @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking starting today, January 23, at 11 a.m. PT & 2 p.m. ET!See you then! This week marks a quiet but pivotal turning point — not dramatic, but consequential. It's a hinge moment where one era completes its handoff and another begins asking for our consent.Rather than forecasting outcomes, this episode offers orientation: how to stand inside change with maturity, discernment, and care.We explore the larger context shaping this week:• The completion of a long Capricorn chapter and the collective shift toward Aquarius — from endurance and survival toward pattern awareness and conscious participation. • Neptune preparing to leave Pisces after fourteen years (2011–now), closing an era of dissolving certainties, heightened sensitivity, spiritual longing, and widespread disorientation — including life lived through screens, fear-based narratives, and inherited domination stories that thrive on confusion rather than discernment. • Neptune approaching Aries, signaling a change in tone from saturation to self-location — from absorbing the collective field to choosing what we are willing to embody and steward. • Pluto waiting at the Aquarian gate, initiating a deeper reckoning with power, responsibility, and participation in collective systems — not through collapse, but through clarity. • A stabilizing alliance between Saturn in Pisces and Uranus in Taurus (in supportive sextile), reminding us that lasting change does not require everything to fall apart; it asks for patient redesign rather than reactive rupture. • A return to last week's New Moon at the final degrees of Capricorn — an unusually dense lunation involving all the personal planets and Pluto, harmonizing with Uranus, Saturn, and Neptune, and standing opposite Jupiter. Its message of “all hands on deck” is reframed here not as urgency, but as mature engagement and conscious participation. This is not a week that demands action. It asks for orientation.Reflective Questions for the Week• Where in my life am I still operating from endurance rather than conscious choice? • What currently shapes my attention most — and does it align with what I truly want to steward? • In this moment of transition, what would it look like to stand more clearly in my values through steady, mature engagement rather than urgency or reaction? This episode is an invitation to locate yourself more clearly in time — and to participate in what's emerging with care, responsibility, and presence.Podcast poem:  All This by Rosemerry Wahtola TrommerSupport the showGo to Sheila's website for information for transformational resources: https://www.ontheedgesofchange.com/home-page This episode was co-created with generative AI, engaged as a soul-aligned ally in service of transformation. JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN for this & more Astro News You Can Use! @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking which drops today, January 16!There's safety in numbers, folks, that's what this Capricorn New Moon tells us now as it occurs at 28'44" Capricorn at 11:52 a.m. PT & 2:52 p.m. ET January 18! This Saturn-ruled lunation tells us it's time to get serious about being more responsibly focused on standing our ground, while it's earthy trines by both luminaries, Mercury, & Mars to Uranus--still Rx in Taurus--denote an easy path if we stick together now.  Earthy practical Capricorn is known to be success oriented in terms of physical manifestation. If it's not practical, the Capricorn archetype doesn't want to waste time on pie-in-the-sky dreams with no possible way of becoming reality. The waning portion of the last monthly lunar cycle--which began with the Sagittarius New Moon on December 19--asked us to go deep about our true sense of what is moral, ethical, & just. The Cancer New Moon on January 3 then revealed with stark clarity exactly how much immortality & injustice exists in the world around us.This Capricorn New Moon tells us now that we must get serious about understanding this reality, and that the only recourse is to band together to stand firm against those who perpetrate such ethical violations & moral injustices. This lunation occurs in the U.S. natal Sibly chart's 2nd House of values & resources, & conjunct its natal Pluto at 27'33 Capricorn. So we KNOW we're being asked to empower this nation by drawing greater distinctions between our own true values and those of the powers that be—especially those who control our resources & finances now.Meanwhile this lunation's multiple trines to Uranus Rx in Taurus in the 12th House of the unconscious realm, beckon us to awaken to an easier pathway to resist those who are trying to impose their unwelcome (& unrealistic) set of values on us. And the Capricorn New Moon says their values are not lasting ones as they are impractical in nature & therefore—in the end—realistically unachievable.AQUARIUS SEASON HAS BEGUN: TIME TO SEE THE LIGHT & KNOW THAT TOGETHER WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL!Venus enters Aquarius January 17, and the Sun, Mercury, & Mars all follow suit on January 19, 20, & 23, respectively. After the past month of governmental initiated brute force used against those in cities across America, this influx of Aquarian energy frees us to think differently about how to combat such injustices now. It's clear in retrospect that the past week of tense squares by Venus, Sun, Mars, & Mercury in Capricorn to wounded healer Chiron & chaos bringer dwarf planet Eris in Aries manifested in violent actions against protestors (read: literal wounding.) This includes not only the death or Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis Minnesota on January 7, but the more recent wounding of others, including the young man in L.A. who's permanently blind in one eye now after being shot in the face with pepper balls by an ICE agent. The symbolism of this particular act of violence lies in the fact that Uranus has been retrograding from 29-degrees of Taurus—known as the Pleiades point which is associated with “blindness”—back to 27-degrees Taurus, a degree away from the fixed star Algol.Algol represents an “off with his head” energy as its meaning derives from Greek mythology's hero Perseus who slayed the snake-haired gorgon Medusa by cutting off her head & ending her ability to turn people to stone with her gaze.  After Uranus stations direct again at 27'28” Taurus on February 3, it will once again hit the Pleiades point from early April through to April 25 when Uranus reenters Gemini. By then it's highly likely that even those who've been blind to the depths of the immorality of the people who run the U.S. government will begin to see the light. In addition, when Uranus again transits through 29 degrees of Taurus, it will affect those whose birth charts contain the fixed star Regulus at that degree. You know, folks like Donald Trump, who's 29'55” Leo Ascendant conjoins Regulus, known as the king maker & king breaker. That's because, while Regulus predicts the potential for reaching great heights of power, it also portends a huge fall from grace if one uses such power for evil ends such as retribution against perceived enemies. Trump clearly has no astrologer to guide him, else he'd have been forewarned not to act as he has since he became president a second time in January 2025.It's clear that group sentiment has been changing how they value Trump's actions in office thus far (Uranus Rx in Taurus.) You know, like his threat this past week to invoke the Insurrection Act of 1807 which empowers the U.S. President to nationally deploy the U.S. military and to federalize the National Guard units of the individual states. That act allows the president to do this in specific circumstances, such as for the suppression of civil disorder, of insurrection, and of armed rebellion against the federal government of the U.S.Invoking this—along with Trump's other plans such his desire to increase ICE's funding, change mail-in election ballot rules, attempt to take over Greenland, & the confiscation & selling of seized Venezuelan oil & depositing the $500M proceeds in an offshore account, among so many others—will not sit well with Americans. And that displeasure is likely to make itself felt as Uranus once again reaches its square to his natal Regulus/Ascendant & Mars in April as the two political party's primaries will be well under way. While he's not on the ballot in November 2026, plenty of his Republican minions are. And it's not looking good for them—assuming we, the people, can stand together against such a tyrannical regime that's killing people in the streets, & detaining, jailing, & deporting others without due process. EMPOWERMENT VERSUS DISEMPOWERMENTEmpowerment becomes the word of this coming week as Venus, Mercury, the Sun, & Mars all conjoin with Pluto in Aquarius between January 19 & 27—especially since we may hear another (potentially surprising) announcement by the powers that be when the Sun conjoins Mercury in Aquarius between now & January 21.This sets off new synodic cycles which will eventually reach their peaks when Venus in Leo opposes Pluto on June 17, & the Sun follows suit July 26. Mercury does so on August 11, while the one to watch is the Mars opposition to Pluto in Aquarius on October 3. Bear in mind the latter will occur a month before the November 3, 2026, midterm elections, meaning after the party's nominees have slugged it out during the earlier primary period.Keep in mind also that during this period, by mid-October, transiting Mars in Leo will have conjoined with Trump's 12th H Pluto at 10 Leo, and will be headed for his natal Mars return, which occurs after the election on November 18.Empowering ourselves now against what's potentially to come IF it looks like Trump's party is losing power after November 3 may well involve bracing ourselves for dealing with an increasingly desperate, wounded, cornered animal. Just a head's up...Join us for all this & more Astro News You Can Use—including a deeper look at the big picture overview of the current Saturn/Pluto, Saturn/Neptune, & Jupiter/Saturn cycles--& what they portend for the future when you tune in, starting today at 11 a.m. PT & 2 p.m. ET, @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking... See you then!! Here are the key dates: 1/1- 1/20 Mercury transits Capricorn 1/3 CANCER FULL MOON 1/17 Venus transits Aquarius 1/18 Aquarius New Moon 1/20-2/6 Mercury transits Aquarius 1/23 Mars transits Aquarius 1/26 Neptune transits into Aries It's going to be an unprecedented astrological year, as 5 major planets change signs and the Lunar Nodes shift into the Aquarius- Leo axis within the first 7 months of 2026. All this astrology means for a wacky and wild 2026. There are three Mercury retrograde cycles:Feb 26 – Mar 20, Jun 29 – Jul 23, Oct 24 – Nov 13.  Major Eclipses in 2026: Annular Solar Feb 17, 2026; Total Lunar Mar 3, 2026; Total Solar Aug 12, 2026; Partial Lunar Aug 27–28, 2026. The February and March eclipses coincide with Mercury retrograde, Check out my previous podcast episode I recorded with Hilary Harley for more on the first six months of 2026. A major planetary shift occurs at the end of the month when Neptune shifts into Aries on 1/26 for the next 12 years. Slow-moving Neptune initiates a new long-term cycle of societal shifts that will bring new ideals, inventions, inspirations and creative impulses within the collective consciousness signifying  — a generational shift that highlights creative action, and separating illusion from reality. January is an action packed month which will feel like two months because there's a marked difference between the beginning of the month and the end of the month. Early January is marked by a stellium of Capricorn planets including the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars morphed into Mountain goats climbing that mountain of karma. Then the gang goes gaga for Aquarius, as they all launch into Aquarian airspace the third week in Aquarius, with Venus kicking off the Airy fun fest on 1/17, joined by the Moon in Aquarius on 1/18 after the New Moon in Capricorn occurs that afternoon. Aquarian action amps up as the Sun transits in on 1/19, Mercury on 1/20 and Mars joins the cosmic party in time for my birthday on 1/23. Pluto is there welcoming them into the fold. I'll explain more later in the episode what the Aquarian Army means for us. In early January the Capricornian cluster makes it a powerful month for structuring your life, focusing on your ambitions and potential to achieve worldly or material goals. — a powerful time for career moves, organization, and success orientation. Mars mobilizes in Capricorn where he is exalted until 1/23 which gives drive, discipline and leadership energy. Mars makes it easier to initiate new plans, take on challenges and show up in life.  Jupiter retrograde in comfy Cancer continues throughout January allowing for deep dives into the psyche to seek security emotionally and anchor into value systems which will go the distance. Neptune nudges forward into Aries on 1/26 leaving a Pisces puddle of delusions and illusions in its wake. Neptune's entrance into Aries on Jan 26 marks a long-term spiritual and identity shift. We move from years of dense earth-and-water drag into the fast lanes of air and fire, where ideas travel farther, tech and transit evolve, and courage becomes a daily practice. With Pluto settling into Aquarius, Neptune and Saturn igniting Aries, and Uranus blasting into Gemini, the first half of the year accelerates timelines and demands clear choices. We walk through the big arcs and the exact dates that matter. January offers a final Capricorn cleanout before an Aquarian influx invites upgrades, collaboration, and bold thinking. February is the crucible: a Leo full moon, an Aquarius new moon solar eclipse, Uranus stationing direct, and Saturn entering Aries—all while Mercury readies a retrograde. The message is not panic, but preparation. Build buffers, double-check logistics, and use grounded rituals to steady your nervous system.March reframes the narrative. A total lunar eclipse across Virgo-Pisces highlights health, healing, and policy, then Jupiter turns direct in Cancer to buoy homes, families, and real estate. The vernal equinox lands as Mercury goes direct, opening a rare all-planets-forward launch window for decisive moves. April restores balance with a Libra full moon and an Aries new moon, then changes gear as Uranus enters Gemini, kicking off seven years of disruption in communication, travel, education, and media. May amplifies the money axis with a powerful Scorpio full moon and Pluto stationing retrograde, revealing what's been concealed in markets and shared resources. Late May's blue moon across Gemini-Sagittarius broadcasts global signals worth heeding.June keeps powder dry until the finale: a Gemini new moon sets ideas in motion, then a Capricorn full moon arrives the same day Mercury turns retrograde and Mars enters Gemini. Travel and tech are spicy—plan with care. The payoff comes quickly as Jupiter strides into Leo, lighting creativity, performance, and generous leadership. Across it all, we emphasize practical strategy: when to launch, when to review, and how to translate cosmic acceleration into sustainable progress. Send us a textBook your reading for 2026 now:  www.jilljardineastrology.comDecember shows its two faces: bright, social momentum up front and focused, get-it-done energy on the back end. We open with a Sagittarius surge and a Gemini Full Moon that shakes loose conversations, reveals buried facts, and invites you to release stale narratives. Then Neptune turns direct at 29° Pisces, lifting fog and tightening your intuitive signal so you can tell the difference between wishful thinking and a real nudge from within. From there, the pace changes in all the right ways. Mercury glides into Sagittarius, sparking bold ideas and the urge to teach, travel, or think bigger about your life. Mars moves into Capricorn and flips the switch from hype to habit, channeling ambition into structure, deadlines, and steady results. The Sagittarius New Moon on December 19 helps you choose your next horizon; the winter solstice on the 21st asks you to commit to it. When Venus joins Capricorn on the 24th, values and money get practical, relationships seek substance, and your priorities settle into a mature, sustainable rhythm. We also look ahead to the larger arc: the close of a long Neptunian chapter, the shift toward air and fire in 2026, and how to position your work, creativity, and wellbeing for the Aquarian wave. To make it personal, we share sign-by-sign guidance with lucky days and tactical moves you can make right now—what to release under the Gemini Full Moon, what to seed under the Sagittarius New Moon, and how to use the Capricorn trifecta to actually build what you see in your mind's eye.We map December 2025 from a lively Sagittarius start to a grounded Capricorn close, highlighting key dates, energetic shifts, and how to turn vision into action. Sign-by-sign forecasts follow a clear arc: release, clarify, commit, and build into 2026.• Gemini full moon exposing truths and shifting stories• Neptune direct at 29° Pisces bringing clarity and closure• Mercury into Sagittarius expanding ideas and voice• Mars into Capricorn turning ambition into structure• Sagittarius new moon seeding vision and optimism• Winter solstice anchoring discipline and responsibility• Venus into Capricorn aligning values, money, and relationships• Practical steps to finish 2025 strong and prep for 2026• Sign-by-sign December forecasts with lucky daysI've just published my first book called Sacred Sound Formulas to Awaken the Modern Mind, Sanskrit Mantras to Raise Your Vibration. We sit down with master astrologer Hilary Harley to map the real pressure points and open lanes of 2026—so you can time launches, protect energy, and ride the wind instead of fighting it. January opens soft, then pivots hard into an Aquarian wave as the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars meet Pluto. Neptune's shift into Aries signals the end of vague vibes and the start of proof-driven action. February is the jolt: a Leo full moon collides with Uranus direct in Taurus, a new moon solar eclipse lands in Aquarius, and Mercury retrograde cuts between eclipses. Translation: breakthrough energy with logistical static—smart to delay big purchases, double-check travel, and treat surprises as strategy prompts.By March, the skies clear. Jupiter turns direct in Cancer, a final-degree Pisces new moon resets intuition, Mercury moves direct, and the Sun enters Aries. That sequence creates one of the best launch windows of the year for new offers, creative work, and business pivots. Then comes the structural shift: Uranus re-enters Gemini for seven years, aligning with Pluto in Aquarius. Expect acceleration in communication, media, mobility, and learning—plus sharper contrasts between fear-led narratives and curiosity-led growth. We break down how to choose your stream, build resilient routines, and harness the air-era momentum without burning out.We also spotlight May's dual full moons and money signals, late June's rapid pileup with Jupiter into Leo, and a second-half roadmap: nodes moving to Leo–Aquarius, August eclipses, and fall retrogrades that reassess love, budgets, and deals. Here's a summary of 2026: January offers setup time; February ignites with eclipses and Mercury retrograde; March opens a clean runway; Uranus in Gemini accelerates ideas, media, and mobility.• January calm followed by an Aquarius surge• Neptune enters Aries and demands results• February eclipses plus Uranus direct shake values• Mercury retrograde between eclipses complicates travel and tech• March relief with Jupiter direct and a prime launch window• Uranus returns to Gemini and speeds communication• May integration with two full moons and money themes• Late June cluster and Jupiter into Leo boost creativity• Nodes shift to Leo–Aquarius and August eclipses return• Fall retrogrades reset love, money, and agreements• Year ends steadier with Saturn and Neptune direct in AriesMake sure you download, share, subscribe, and give us a five-star reviewSupport the show

The Age of Pisces was defined by a conservative adherence to lineage and tradition, since the deepest spiritual knowledge was never written down, but secretly transmitted from master to disciple. Only initiated candidates could receive tutelage under the auspices of a qualified adept, whereby the mysteries of esoteric religion were discreetly communicated from mouth to ear. While an effective model in the previous era, such guru yoga is obsolete today, given the prevalence and intensity of problems associated with degenerated traditions and misguided leaders. It is more safe and reliable to engage in the Aquarian dispensation: freely distributed knowledge, the development of spiritual autonomy, and self-reliance on the teaching, not blind obedience to a teacher or group. The Aquarian influence encourages both community and independence, supported through personal verification of any teaching. This is also without disregarding the value of qualified initiates and the sacrifices they have made for the spiritual evolution of humanity. See how through an exploration of an esoteric holiday (October 27th, 1954) known to gnostics as the Advent of Samael, as well as some direct warnings Samael Aun Weor made about the dangers of following terrestrial and “spiritual” personalities. This week brings powerful turning points. A fiery Full Moon in Aries spotlights the dance between self-assertion and partnership, while Mercury's entry into Scorpio begins a season of deeper truth-telling that will echo into November's retrograde. The Mercury–Pluto square midweek demands honest words that can catalyze transformation, and the Venus–Saturn opposition challenges us to bring discernment and commitment into love, money, and values. As we move through these passages, we prepare for next week's potent shift—Pluto turning direct in Aquarius, reigniting collective transformation.Monday, October 6 – Full Moon in Aries at 14°The Instinctive Self (Moon) shines in fiery Aries, illuminating your desires for autonomy, vitality, and courage. Opposite the Relational Self (Sun) in Libra, this lunation calls you to balance self-assertion with partnership. What wants to be initiated? What needs to be released in your relationships or patterns of self-abandonment?Reflection: Where do I need to step forward with courage without cutting myself off from connection?Monday, October 6 – Mercury enters ScorpioThe Storyteller (Mercury) dives into the depths of Scorpio's Realm of Transformation. Words, perceptions, and thoughts become sharper, more probing. This transit foreshadows Mercury's retrograde in November when it returns here to excavate deeper truths. Be alert to whispers of what's hidden beneath the surface—what you notice now will become important later.Reflection: What hidden story or truth is beginning to stir in me that will require deeper excavation later this season?Tuesday, October 7 – Mercury in Scorpio squares Pluto in AquariusThe Storyteller (Mercury) in the realm of intensity locks horns with the Transformer (Pluto) in visionary Aquarius. Expect confrontations with uncomfortable truths, power dynamics in communication, or a need to name what's been unspeakable. Transformation begins with words spoken honestly and directly.Reflection: Where do I need to risk speaking truth to shift a stagnant or controlling pattern?Saturday, October 11 – Venus in Virgo opposes Saturn in PiscesThe Relational One (Venus) in discerning Virgo stands across from the Responsible One (Saturn) in dreamy Pisces. This aspect challenges you to bring integrity and discernment into your relationships, finances, and creative projects. Saturn tests Venus—are you discerning or critical, committed or avoiding? The tension invites you to clarify what really matters.Reflection: What relationship or value requires both discernment and commitment right now?Looking Ahead to the Next WeekOn Monday, October 13, the Transformer (Pluto) turns direct at 1° Aquarius after being retrograde since early May. This shift intensifies the collective push into Aquarian transformation: new systems, collective re-imaginings, and innovative structures are beginning to move forward. Expect themes of power and collective re-invention to reemerge.Podcast Poem: Sunday Morning EarSupport the showGo to Sheila's website for information for transformational resources: https://www.ontheedgesofchange.com/home-page This episode was co-created with generative AI, engaged as a soul-aligned ally in service of transformation. In Episode 138, astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield turn their gaze to one of the most iconic, yet tragic couples of the 90s, John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. The two, along with her sister, died unexpedtedly in a plane crash off of Martha's Vineyard on July 16th, 1999.   First, we explore John's chart, beginning with a fascinating North Node conjunct his Virgo Rising—indicating his measured public persona was a key balancing act for past-life chaos. With Pluto also in the mix, themes of power, control, and shared resources were deeply woven into his identity. A Venus in Capricorn suggests he sought a legacy in love and often dealt with restrictions in relationships, while a cold Moon conjunct Chiron in Aquarius points to a lack of warm familial feelings and a profoundly complicated relationship with his mother.   Carolyn's chart carries its own Aquarian theme, with her Rising sign conjunct both Venus and Mars, cementing her status as a progressive trendsetter and fashion icon who paradoxically shunned the spotlight. Her Capricorn Sun and Cancer Moon reveal she was born during a full moon phase, demonstrating a constrast of reserved, cautious, and a intensely hardworking nature as well as emotional sensitivity and depth. With Neptune trine her Moon and Saturn in Pisces, she is revealed as a master escape artist.   Together, their synastry tells a compelling and complex story: his Sun conjunct her South Node created an instant sense of familiarity and destiny, while a Venus-Sun conjunction fueled their magnetic attraction and mutual adoration. However, a Mercury square to Venus and Mars created tension between words and actions, fostering a dynamic of secrecy versus vulnerability. With notably challenging aspects, just how difficult was this relationship? Tune in to get the final Venus compatibility score and our complete analysis!   Book a Reading with us!
