The usefulness of SWOT analysis is not limited to profit seeking organizations. SWOT analysis may be used in any decision-making situation when a desired end-state (objective) is defined. SWOT analysis can also be used in pre-crisis planning and preventive crisis management. SWOT can be used effectively to build organizational or personal strategy. Steps necessary to execute strategy-oriented analysis involve identification of internal and external factors (using the popular 2x2 matrix), selection and evaluation of the most important factors, and identification of relations existing between internal and external features. For instance, strong relations between strengths and opportunities can suggest good conditions in the company and allow using an aggressive strategy. On the other hand, strong interactions between weaknesses and threats could be analyzed as a potential warning and advice for using a defensive strategy. As always do your own due diligence and experiment with the matrix above so you can gather your own inferences and solutions. We Advancers are adapting machines. We have evolved to not just adapt but to thrive in any and all environments. With adaptation, with novelty with the constant pursuit of growth comes... stress.Hormesis is a biological phenomenon whereby a beneficial effect results from exposure to low doses of an agent that is otherwise toxic or lethal when given at higher doses. What we’re not adapted for, however, is the chronic, unrelenting stress that has become so common in modern life. This type of stress provokes feelings of hopelessness and helplessness – what psychologists call a “defeat response”. And it’s the defeat response that leads to increased fat storage, abdominal obesity, tissue breakdown, suppression of the immune system, and all of the other effects I listed above that directly cause obesity and diabetes. On episode 24 I cover "heart coherence"The breakthrough research from the Heart Math Institute. As you may have noticed, when you are in a situation of fear, your heartbeat starts to accelerate. So this is clear that our heart directly responds to how we feel. However, we now know that the rhythmic activity of our heart can directly affect how we feel. It sends signals to our brain and that plays a key role in determining the quality of our emotional experience at a precise moment. If we experience negative emotions, the heart will send a signal via its rhythmic pattern to the brain which will mirror these feelings. Therefore, this negative emotional experience will be reinforced. In fact, the type of chemicals that are released into our bodies depend on the quality of the emotional signal sent from the heart to the brain. In a situation of big stress, the brain will respond by releasing hormones like cortisol which can turn to be harmful for our health if it is produced in excess. I break this podcast into 4 sections -Meditation, Flow, Decreased Stress and Self transformation.Mindfulness has become quiet the buzzword as of recent times but it really has been around for millennia. There is an abundance of research and data out there that show mindfulness has positive effects for quality of life, focus, decreased stress and productivity. Yet most of us have a very ill-disposed view when it comes to quite time and scheduling out a slot for empty space. Mindfulness Improves our mental habits of attention at the conscious and unconscious levels. It gives us more conscious awareness to put energy into areas of our life we need to improve on to get to the next level in self mastery. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
