Where I say what you have been thinking about the Chicago Bears
Forget about who is assembling the team and who will be making the play calls, lets talk about who I think should be back next year. We use Overthecap.com as our guide.
Since we don't have a Justin Fields performance to review, I talk about how I thought the Bears blundered the rumors of Nagy being fired and even though I feel for him as a person, his performance as a coach is not what it needs to be to keep his job.
The Bears had a decent number of run attempts and a good per carry average. They also had consistent pressure on the Raven's backup QB, but a single failure on a single play allowed the Ravens to make their comeback. The 1980's staple of run the ball and play great defense simply does not work in today's NFL.
I give my thoughts on the NFL apologizing for multiple missed and non-calls during the game. Then I move onto Justin Fields and the offense.
We look at the progress Fields is making. Can he become "THAT GUY" who makes the Bears perennial contenders?
My thoughts on the "I own you" comment by Rodgers. My thoughts on both the defense and offense thus far into the season. A rare mistake by my statistician and fact checker. Mario Edwards' penchant for drawing retaliation personal fouls. My thoughts on the non-free play when the packers were offsides at the snap.
I pleasure your earholes with my thoughts on the win against the Raiders, the Packer game and I further my case for no big money long term deal for Montgomery.
This week I talk about the Lions game, Fields being named the starter going forward and I examine if you need to pay Franchise money to an Edge Rusher.
My thoughts on the offense against the Browns, why the Bears will move to Arlington Heights and my thoughts on having a Franchise WR vs Franchise TE.
I am back! I start by talking about Justin Fields and his opportunity to take the starting QB job for good. I then recap my thoughts on weeks 1 and 2. And I wrap up with a study on how important it is to have a franchise RB in today's NFL.
In this episode I discuss the Bears bid on Arlington park, rumors that ownership may be near selling, Allen Robinson's contract, Justin Field's first start and will Aaron Rodgers play for the Packers this year.
Why I think even if Fields is a Hall of Fame player for the Bears, they may still be a loser.
Its a new League Year and the Bears have been busy...but not in a good way.
Despite controlling their own destiny the Bears lost and had to rely on the Rams to get them in, and the Rams didn't disappoint. Now that they are in, what happens? It looks like Nagy is safe but where do you go at General Manager and Quarterback?
I talk playoff scenarios and what might happen with Pace, the coaching staff and Trubisky depending on what happens Sunday and in the near future.
This week I take my shot at predicting who from the defense will be back next year. Merry Christmas everyone!
This week I look at each position group on offense and project who will be back with the team next season and where they need to focus their efforts to upgrade (because they need to upgrade a lot).
The Bears continue their losing streak, prompting most media to speculate that there will be a cleaning of house at Halas Hall after the season ends, myself included. In the past few weeks we have found candidates for President/CEO, GM and now we take a look at candidates for the Head Coaching job.
I didn't even realize until after I finished recording that this is my 34th episode. I hope Sweetness is listening in. Anyway I digress. This week we continue our discussion about rebuilding the organization from the top down. I give my short list of GM Candidates.
We start with a quick prediction for the game against the Packers, then we move on and become Owners! This week we talk about what to do with Ted Phillips and I give a short list of potential replacements.
We talk about the state of the Bears and recap some things from the game against the Vikings.
Time to get back to reality as we preview this week's game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Well the 3 week vacation from the realities of the Bears ends with this recap and there is not much to be positive about this week.
George Costanza would NOT be pleased. I am a one man show and I have some things going on so I am giving you the double dip today. In week 2 of looking at the positives I find some from the loss to the Saints. I also find some positives about the matchup against the Titans as well as my weekly prediction. Enjoy!
It's week 8, but it's week 2 of me trying to find positives. I manage to find a few. With the trade deadline coming up Tuesday I also play GM a little bit and get to gripe about the Bears a little bit in that segment.
The Bears really challenged me to stay positive but I managed to find a few nuggets from the game.
The Bears are 5-1 and I can't believe I'm saying it, it doesn't matter how they got here, they are here. So I'm allowing myself a rare privilege as a Bears fan. I'm allowing myself to just go with the flow and enjoy the ride. I take this newfound optimism and use it in the preview to talk about reasons why the Bears can win this game. Do I pick them to win? Well you have to listen to find out.
Well the Bears are 5-1 and no matter how ugly it has been or how they got there, it's hard to get to 5-1 in the NFL. Let's take a vacation from rehashing everything that is bad and do what we've been wanting to do for a long time as Bears fans. Let's enjoy what they have accomplished and look at some reasons why they can continue to win.
This episode I give you 2 reasons why the Bears could win and 2 reasons they could lose as well as my prediction. Some bonus content I compare Nick Foles and 6 other quarterbacks who are with new teams this year against the league averages for 3 key stats.
I recap the game against the Bucs and talk about a few issues the Bears need to solve in order to relevant for a playoff position.
I preview this week's game against the Bucs. Can the Bears keep up with the G.O.A.T.?
I recap the game before going back into the QB situation. Will the agony ever end?
I break down this week's matchup against the Colts and give my prediction.
Recap the game and I'm stuck in a glass case of emotion! I recap my keys to the game but then I dig deeper into the QB switch and what it means going forward. I talk about why I hope it works out and why that puts me into emotional conflict.
I preview the keys to the game and give my prediction. Can the Bears move to 3-0 for the first time since 2010?
Buckle in, this is a long one! I review my prediction and keys to the game, along with how they did or didn't achieve those keys. Finally, I wrap up with what I liked and didn't like.
I break down the offensive and defensive keys to the game and give my final score prediction.
Thank you for the gift Detroit Lions! We revisit my prediction, my keys to the game and what I did and did not like in this week's game.
I preview the game against the Lions including keys to winning the game and my prediction.
Just a quick episode this time. Football is back. I go over a few topics including Bears who have opted out of the season and what style offense I think can really dominate the early part of this season.
Today we finish up our discussion on what it takes to be a Champion by comparing the 2018 Chicago Bears against the 2013 Seattle Seahawks and 2017 Philadelphia Eagles. Can the Bears return to that 2018 form and will that be enough to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Chicago?
As Bears fans it's been a long time since we have seen a championship for our team. Today we take a look at the last 10 champs and how the Bears stack up against them.
My opinion of the Bears ending their virtual offseason 1 1/2 weeks early and breaking down the Bears' DBs.
We finish up examining the Bears linebacker corps by examining the Outside Linebacker Position and a summary of the unit as a whole.
There was a lot of turnover at the LB spot for the Bears this year and some big differences in responsibilities within the LB spot in the 3-4 defense. This week we start that discussion with the Inside Line Backer (ILB) position.
We begin our discussion on the defense with the defensive line. We'll break down the key contributors and talk about how they return to their ball stealing ways of 2018.
The Bears offense runs through the U TE position. We break down how the Bears stack up against the gold standard.
We examine some key stats that I think help you evaluate good WR play and how the top guys on the squad measure up to those stats.
We break down each starter from last season and this year by 3 key stats that point to their overall production as a unit.
I talk about my draft philosophy. We review Ryan Pace’s draft history. Finally we review this year’s draft picks and how they might fit into the Bears roster.
