Episode Summary Friday's show is a proper freak buffet: Christmas rape audio, Katie Souza exposing George Costanza as a witch-mermaid operative, Indian airport fury, pedal-pumping car fetish weirdness, VRChat wedding sabotage, an old lady Liam Neeson scam beatdown, and a man turning cartoon characters into fleshlights for art. Somehow it all feels alarmingly on-brand. Episode […] The post Horny for Exhaust Pipes and Brake Pedals first appeared on Distorted View Daily.

This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit www.serioustrouble.showThis week's Serious Trouble comes to you live from a perch overlooking the soon-to-be-built Trump National Championship Golf Links at East Potomac Park by Donald J. Trump. Or, maybe — as I looked over the federally administered national parkland along the Potomac River, I was looking at a suite of projects where the president's “just do things” approach has faced intermittent trouble in court. For example: Trump's name has been ordered down off the Kennedy Center, which is once again just the Kennedy Center. We discuss challenges to his “anti-weaponization fund," and the status of various lawsuits aimed at stopping the fund and the ripeness and standing challenges they face. And we look at the “you fucking dingus” doctrine — the extent to which Trump's most cartoonish actions cause judges to hunt for ways to respond to them. That's for free subscribers. Paying subscribers also get:* Alexis Wilkins vs. MS NOW, and the George Costanza theory of actual malice.* The junior lawyer leading the James Comey seashell prosecution steps down (as lawyers flee the government more broadly) while a judge in another case rules that “8647” is not a true threat.* Trump really doesn't want to pay tariff refunds, and Ilya Somin argues the tariff cases show how CASA has created a mess.* A CIA official gets indicted for lying on his resume, but really for stealing tens of millions of dollars worth of gold that he was somehow able to order to his office.* George Santos appears to be under investigation for insider trading in a prediction market about George Santos. * A gadfly blogger in Ohio is arrested for texting an image to a state senator that apparently depicts Shrek masturbating. Is that a crime?

Joey's head pierces the veil of the chained apartment door as blinding sunlight pours in behind him. His eyes are wrong — they're the color of jewels, reds and blues all mixed up and coating every millimeter. His expression is contorted, almost beyond recognition. "THE CEASELESS FEAST OF WANT," he yells into the room, "A GLEAMING BEACON SHIMMERING ON THE HORIZON." He tries to force his way into the room again, but the chain holds. "WE ARE WANTED. WE ARE HERE TO SERVE AND REST OUR BONES UPON A GOLDEN THRONE. THE SUN IS FOREVER, AND SO TOO SHALL WE BE." Joey from the hit sitcom Friends retreats from the crack in the door, leaving a radiant glow spilling into the room. Discussed: Joey, George Costanza, Captain Picard, Esoteric Ebb, Disco Elysium, getting into CRPGS, neo-noir and grooviness, Saros, AAA roguelikes, Danny Boyle's “Sunshine”,  Bobo Bay, Vampire CrawlersFind us everywhere: https://intothecast.onlineBuy some merch, if you'd like: https://shop.intothecast.onlineJoin the Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/intothecast---Follow Stephen Hilger: https://bsky.app/profile/stephenhilger.bsky.socialFollow Brendon Bigley: https://bsky.app/profile/bb.wavelengths.onlineProduced by AJ Fillari: https://bsky.app/profile/ajfillari.bsky.social---Season 8 cover art by Scout Wilkinson: https://scoutwilkinson.myportfolio.com/Theme song by Will LaPorte: https://ghostdown.online/---Timecodes:(00:00) - Intro (00:40) - The Friends to Seinfeld spectrum (05:18) - Esoteric Ebb | Curb Your Charisma Check (37:34) - Tiding from Abby to Kellan! The Floor is back, and within minutes this episode proves one thing very clearly: nobody fully understands how the game works. Not the contestants. Not production. And definitely not Brad.Angie starts the episode ready to run a tight, professional recap. Brad immediately treats that like a suggestion, not a plan, and begins launching soundboard drops and side comments like he's trying to win a separate competition. Meanwhile, Nicki steps in as the new voice of reason and quickly realizes she has joined a podcast where structure goes to die. They attempt to recap the premiere, and to be fair, they do hit the highlights:A guy dressed like a sparkly fortune teller wins a duel and becomes more memorable than half the cast combined.A self-proclaimed sitcom expert forgets George Costanza, Leslie Knope, and the Golden Girls, which feels like grounds for immediate disqualification from society.A contestant accidentally earns the nickname “Sean the Bus,” and that will now follow him longer than anything he did on the show.Someone loses because they can't identify a surge protector, which leads to a full discussion about whether that object has multiple identities. And in a moment that will haunt everyone, a contestant blanks on “clam” in a seafood category. In between all that, the podcast somehow finds time to spiral into debates about:whether the rules make any sense, whether production is making things up on the fly,and whether intimidation strategy is real or just something people say to sound smart.Angie keeps trying to steer the conversation back to actual analysis. Brad keeps taking the wheel and driving straight into a ditch of jokes and tangents. Nicki plays the middle, laughing, reacting, and occasionally trying to bring things back to reality.By the end of the episode, you've learned a little about strategy, a lot about contestant mistakes, and almost nothing about how the game actually works. The Floor may be the game show, but this podcast is the real chaos—and somehow, that's exactly why it works.

Send us Fan Mail# Grunge## Episode Info- **Episode**: S03E94- **Title**: Grunge- **Original Air Date**: March 2026- **Duration**: 1 hour, 26 minutes## Episode SummarySteve and Windham throw on their imaginary flannel and build a Perfect Album Side for grunge, focusing on the songs, videos, soundtrack moments, and closers that defined the genre's brief but massive takeover. Along the way they talk about how grunge steamrolled hair metal, salute David Hudson and *State of Amorica*, and argue through what really belongs under the grunge umbrella.## Topics Covered- How grunge disrupted late-80s hair metal almost overnight- The Seattle scene, Sub Pop, and the anti-corporate identity of grunge- Why Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains became the center of the movement- The role of movie soundtracks and MTV in making grunge unavoidable- The gray area of “is this actually grunge?” with bands like Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, and The Breeders- The emotional weight of Andrew Wood's legacy in songs by Temple of the Dog and Alice in Chains## Deep Dives- **Temple of the Dog – "Say Hello 2 Heaven"** as a tribute to Andrew Wood and a statement opening track- **Pearl Jam – "Jeremy"** as the era's defining music video juggernaut- **Alice in Chains – "Would?"** and the *Singles* soundtrack as central grunge artifacts- **Soundgarden – "Outshined"** in *True Romance* and the wider movie-soundtrack moment- The case for outliers and neighboring acts like The Breeders' "Cannonball" and Stone Temple Pilots' "Plush"- **Nirvana – "Rape Me"** and the band's role in making the whole grunge explosion possible in the first place## Fun Facts & Highlights- The episode quickly escalates into a George Costanza-style block-of-cheese visual.- Steve realizes he no longer owns any flannel shirts, which leads to the instant fake-band name **Final Flannel**.- There's a heartfelt shoutout to David Hudson and Ian Rice of *State of Amorica*, with David's exit from the mic helping inspire the episode.- The guys keep circling back to the same glorious grunge question: was the music the revolution, or was it also the look, the attitude, and the backlash to purple sequined jackets?- Andrew Wood's shadow hangs over the episode in a meaningful way, with multiple songs tied back to him.## Referenced Artists, Songs & Content- Temple of the Dog- Pearl Jam- Alice in Chains- Soundgarden- Nirvana- Stone Temple Pilots- The Breeders- Sonic Youth- Smashing Pumpkins- Mudhoney- Screaming Trees- Mother Love Bone- Chris Cornell- Eddie Vedder- Kurt Cobain- Andrew Wood- "Say Hello 2 Heaven"- "Jeremy"- "Would?"- "Outshined"- "Cannonball"- "Plush"- "Rape Me"- "Smells Like Teen Spirit"- "Hunger Strike"- *Singles*- *True Romance*- *State of Amorica*## Episode TakeawayGrunge wasn't just a sound—it was a correction, a mood, a look, and a cultural hard left turn. This episode works because Steve and Wyndham don't just list songs; they capture why this music felt like a detonation when it arrived. One idea.  Six songs.  Infinite possibilities...

Another weekend in the books. Windows were open. ALMOST got on the Harley yesterday. Still too much dirt & salt on the roads to take her out of the garage just yet. In the news this morning, former President Obama admitted on a recent podcast that aliens are real, a Wisconsin fisherman is going viral for using a porta-potty for an ice shanty, some guys in Prairie du Chien are playing their own version of Olympic curling, and the latest on the search for Nancy Guthrie. In sports, the Badgers upset #10 Michigan State on Saturday, the Bucks are off until Friday, the results of the All-Star weekend in the NBA, and Tyler Reddick won yesterday's Daytona 500! We let you know what's on TV today/tonight and we also talked about a possible reboot for "Charlie's Angels". Elsewhere in sports, Chris Paul retires, Kansas State fires their head coach, a college baseball player hit THREE grand slams in a single game, and a hockey team has to apologize after asking it's fans to shower before coming to home games. Speaking of the Olympics, we recapped some of this weekend's action in Italy, including an update on Lindsey Vonn, the US Medal count, the village is running out of condoms, the US men's hockey beatdown of Germany yesterday, and a Slovakian fugitive is arrested after he came out of hiding to attend a hockey game at the Olympics. A couple of cool stories including: a baby giraffe that was just born at the Kansas City zoo, a farmer in Idaho who donated millions of potatoes to local food banks, and a cashier at a Publix grocery store in Georgia who is everyone's favorite. Do you have a reusable water bottle? When was the last time you washed it? Might want to increase the amount of times you run it through the dishwasher! Today is "President's Day", so make sure you keep that in mind if you have errands to run later. Some stuff might not be open. We talked about the best & worst Presidents according to a new survey, and we had some other interesting stats & info on the holiday. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a guy who got arrested and claimed he was George Costanza, a billboard with a QR code for a free burrito is apparently distracting drivers, a guy who ran over a bunch of mailboxes, & a former police chief who is going to jail after he was found guilty of setting a bunch of fires.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Then the awful way I stepped over everyone running away from someone who fainted but I thought was dead (total George Costanza) and finally - another magical jiffy lube story.

It's time for our Annual Festivus episode with the great, powerful, and wise Jason Alexander! Jason returns again to Independent Americans to help us air our grievances, navigate a truly turbulent holiday season and find some joy worth spreading. From the tragic origins of the Festivus holiday to the "despicable" and "amoral" nature of the Seinfeld characters that the world still loves, Jason and Paul Rieckhoff dive deep into why this "holiday for the rest of us" feels more relevant than ever in 2025. The conversation takes a serious turn as they process the heavy news of the week, including the release of more Epstein files, the escalating tensions with Venezuela, and the tragic death of creative legend Rob Reiner. Jason shares stories from working with Rob Reiner, reflects on the magic of The Princess Bride, slams Trump's meanness, and offers a powerful perspective on protecting your "inner bubble" and maintaining community in the face of a digital world designed to keep us angry and fearful. It is a masterclass in finding light to contrast the heat, reminding us that while the "macro" world may be in dysfunction, our "micro" communities are where we find our grace.  Because every episode of Independent Americans with Paul Rieckhoff breaks down the most important news stories--and offers light to contrast the heat of other politics and news shows. The Buddies got to chatting about whether this was actually a David book disguised as a Mitch book, how Austin Powers is definitely still alive and working for MI6, and the critical importance of Mitch lying to his wife for national security reasons. McCulley had the one contested ball and did the George Costanza. Keeps the expectations for Bryce in context, because Trevor Lawrence had NFL wideouts to throw at as a freshman. Want guys to step up: Marsh, Browder: turn around and context that. Seth: comp is what Nebraska got out of Raiola last year. Need the running game to be the engine of the offense. Get to functional. Hey Sam, how many targets is Jalen Hoffman getting? Are they going to do zone reads for Bryce? OL: Sprague up, Link down—if they're not naming him the starter now maybe he needs to move inside. The holidays are here and for long-time listeners, that means one thing and one thing only. The legend! The iconic actor who played George Constanza on Seinfeld--friend of this show—conscience for America—and American icon: Jason Alexander (@IJasonAlexander) is back for his annual Festivus visit and it's every bit as epic as you've come to expect! Yes, friends, FESTIVUS is back!  A Festivus for the rest of us.  And this year Jason is bringing a bag full of goodies to help you navigate the turbulent times 2025 is certain to bring. It's a perfect way to wrap up 2024 and a great listen for you and your whole family as you head over the river and through the woods. 2024 has been a crazy year. And 2025 will be no different. But we're bringing light not heat and we're bringing the conversations you want and the news you need. Every guest on this show has shaped America's past, is impacting America's present, and is driving America's future. And Jason continues to help us understand ourselves, our past, and our future.  He is of course best known for his role as George Costanza in maybe the greatest television series of all time, Seinfeld. He was nominated for seven Primetime Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards. He won a Tony Award. And he's a truly inspiring, fascinating and entertaining man.  And Paul is breaking down drone madness, the “debate” over vaccines, the Army Navy game political post-game review, the defense bill nobody's paying attention to, and the trials of a parent playing Elf on the Shelf! The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz

Dan is mesmerized by a 105 mph pitch in Major League Baseball, and Tony has a story for the crew involving a mall, a walk, his pregnant wife, and an owl where he felt like George Costanza. Then, what would you do if $2 million washed onto your boat? Plus, the naked crime syndicate at LIV nightclub, a saltwater crocodile at The Clevelander, and the dumbest stuff the guys on our crew have done to impress their partners. Also, Mike is worried he is slowly turning into his father, we take a look at today's Thursday Thunder, and Izzy and Dan discuss the immediate "you made it up" reaction to journalism people disagree with.
