Episode 457 of Boss Hog of Liberty is available now. Host voices are Jeremiah Morrell, Bones Harcourt, and Zach Burcham.  This week the podcast guest is Dr Chris Wilkey, Director of the Ball State University of Professional Selling. We discuss the ways that Ball State makes an impact on surrounding communities, including Henry County. His sales program recruits local students into the program, and they leave with a four year degree and great opportunities for jobs in our area, often with nearly six figure incomes immediately. So much talk about how difficult the career market is, however with some flexibility the jobs are available, and in Indiana. Chris Wilkey is also heavily involved in the community, particularly through the Elks Lodge, and he highlights some programs that their grants have provided. Including a children's coat program that provides new winter coats to every child in Henry County, if interested. Additionally they operate a tiny food pantry, and have been getting classroom snacks out this school year for kids all over New Castle. In sports, Alex Palou just won his 5th IndyCar Championship, Pato O'Ward completed the Milwaukee double. Ball State is headed into Columbus for a brutal match up against Ohio State. Indiana is about to start its new football season, as the national champion…Can they repeat? A review of the schedule says they have a great opportunity. Finally, the Colts season is about to start and their new Wide Receiver Keenan Allen is already making the wrong headlines as he was arrested for DUI in downtown Indianapolis after his first preseason game. Next Episode records Wednesday September 9th. Boss Hog of liberty is now available in video form of YouTube and Facebook, Spotify. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Christian Brothers Academy Head Cross Country Coach Sean McCafferty joins Airey Bros Radio for a deep dive into one of the most storied high school cross country programs in America.Coming off a historic 2025 season, McCafferty was named the Joe Newton Coach of the Year after leading CBA to 3rd place at Nike Cross Nationals (NXN) with a New Jersey-record 15:54 team average. Under his leadership, the Colts have won seven Meet of Champions titles, six Nike Northeast Regional titles and qualified for NXN eight consecutive times.Sean takes us back to his roots in New Jersey distance running, growing up in a running family, his own career at Princeton, becoming a teacher and coach, and eventually taking over the legendary CBA Cross Country program from Tom Heath. We get deep into what has allowed CBA to remain one of the premier high school distance programs in the country: evolving training philosophies, slowing down easy days, threshold training, heart-rate data, lactate testing, building athlete confidence, developing team culture and teaching runners to care about one another.Coach McCafferty also breaks down the modern college recruiting landscape and why the best opportunity for a high school runner isn't always NCAA Division I. We discuss D1, D2 and D3 recruiting, Ivy League academics, social media and Strava, the pressure of coaching a national powerhouse, CBA alumni culture, Nike Cross Nationals and what the next generation of Colts looks like heading into the 2026 cross country season. If you're a high school cross country runner, distance coach, parent, college recruit or fan of New Jersey running, this one is loaded.

Happy Hump Day, yo! We got a ton of rain during the overnight which makes me wonder why I watered my lawn yesterday in the afternoon??? Derp. Anyway, speaking of water...we had a few news stories about water this morning. One was about the flooding at Zion National Park, and the other was about a private water line for a data center that leaked over 3 million gallons of water. Also in the news this morning, Tony Romo plead "no contest" to his DUI, more info on the deadly stabbing incident in NYC earlier this week, a 14 year-old girl who got pregnant by her own father, Dolly Parton's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is getting replaced after it was vandalized, and Bonnie Blue gave birth. In sports, the Brewers bounced back and got a 9-4 win over the Cubs last night, the Packers have NOT seen the footage in the Josh Jacobs case, the Vikings sign Kyle Van Noy to the practice squad, Keenan Allen should be on the field for the Colts in Week 1 after his recent DUI arrest, a look at the upcoming NCAAF schedule, and the Angels are finally getting sold to Stan Kroenke. We talked about what's on TV & streaming today/tonight. Plus, the guy who does the announcing on "Wheel of Fortune" is suspended, and a documentary about Matthew Perry is coming to Netflix in October. Brian recently found out some very interesting things about some of the people living in his neighborhood and is now wondering if he's gotta move. Elsewhere in sports, an updated on the college football running back who died after suffering a seizure on the sidelines, a coach from "Last Chance U" gets fired, a high school football team refused to participate in a pre-game handshake, an Arizona school district cancels it's entire season, and a wild brawl between youth football coaches in Pennsylvania. A principal of a school in Nepal reacted quickly and saved hundreds of lives from that recent flooding, and a class ring was found with a metal detector & made it's way back to the original owner! It's "One Gotta Go Wednesday" and this morning's edition dealt with some of the best sophomore albums of all time! Nirvana's "Nevermind". Led Zeppelin's "Led Zeppelin II". Alice in Chain's "Dirt". Or Motley Crue's "Shout At The Devil". Which one are you getting rid of? Would you say that Wisconsin is a "fun state"??? According to some new research, we aren't doing too bad compared to the rest of the nation. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a couple of guys who got arrested for making jokes about explosives at an airport, a Japanese man arrested for the massacre of a bunch of hamsters, the serial pooper in Utah got arrested finally, and the serial butt-sniffer in California also got arrested........again! Plus, someone named "Crooked Jess" decided to do something crooked. Go figure. And a dude from WI broke into a bar after-hours & stole some White Claws and vodka while rocking a Packer robe.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Send us Fan MailTraining camp is turning into a survival test, and this week's biggest story is how many stars are already getting hit with injuries, holdouts, and off-field drama before Week 1 even arrives. Jay and Neil break down the latest NFL headlines, including the Buccaneers locking up Vita Vea, the Seahawks navigating Tarion Arnold's legal situation, and the wave of injuries hitting the Colts, Steelers, Texans, Chargers, Saints, and 49ers.  Together, they unpack what these updates actually mean for roster battles, depth charts, and the early-season outlook. You'll hear why the Colts are being cautious with Tyler Warren's groin issue, how the Steelers' wide receiver duo of DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman fits into the offense, and why Jaden Higgins' ACL injury is such a brutal blow for Houston. They also react to Alvin Kamara's MCL sprain, Tyler Biadasz's uncertain status in Los Angeles, and Mikhail Williams' slow recovery in San Francisco.  Neil and Jay also get into the Seahawks' signing of Trayvon Diggs as insurance, what that says about the Tarion Arnold situation, and why teams keep taking chances on talented players with baggage. Plus, they react to the Cowboys-Saints joint practice fight that went viral, the $500,000 fines handed down by the league, and the reality that training camp intensity always seems one snap away from boiling over.  If you want a fast, opinionated take on the NFL stories shaping the start of the season, this episode delivers the injury updates, roster implications, and camp chaos you need to know.
