Christmas invites us to slow down and recognise why Jesus came. God promised a Saviour who would be our Prophet, Priest, and King — and Jesus fulfils every part of that promise. A Prophet speaks God's truth, a Priest brings us into God's presence, and a King leads with strength and compassion. In this series, we're exploring each of these roles and how they shape our faith today. Last week, we reflected on Jesus as our Prophet — the Word made flesh, revealing God with clarity and grace. This week, we turn to Jesus as our Priest, the one who makes a way for us to draw near to God.If you're longing for hope, direction, or a renewed sense of God's nearness, this series is for you. Haggai a small book that packs a big punch! The people had returned from exile and, rather than obeying God's call to build up God's house, they chose the comfort of their surroundings. In this message you'll be challenged to recentre your life on God, return to Him in obedience, and rediscover the joy of His presence.

Today we finish off our study of 1 Thessalonians by looking at the benediction to the letter. Paul has a lot to say to the church, and God uses it to speak to us today.

What kind of ministry truly pleases God? In 1 Thessalonians 2:1–12, Paul reminds believers that gospel work isn't about power, prestige, or personal gain—it's about faithfulness, gentleness, and pointing people to Christ. In this message, we'll explore how Paul's example shapes our own service today: living with integrity, sharing the gospel boldly, and caring for others like family.Whether you serve in the spotlight or behind the scenes, this passage calls us to a ministry marked by sincerity, sacrifice, and love—the kind of ministry that honours God.Join us in person each Sunday at 10:00 am at 2458 St Frances Drive. The digital bulletin can be found here: https://calvaryburlington.ca/bulletinIf you are interested in learning more about Calvary, want to connect with us, or interested in learning more, visit https://calvaryburlington.ca/connect-cardTo support this ministry and help us continue to reach people all around the world with the Gospel of Jesus, click here: https://calvaryburlington.ca/give

The gospel does not merely inform us—it transforms us. In Thessalonica, Paul saw the power of God's Word at work: sinners turned from idols to serve the living and true God, and a fledgling church became an example to all believers. In this passage we see the gospel's life-changing power (vv. 4–6), its outward testimony (vv. 7–8), and its forward-looking hope (vv. 9–10). True conversion brings a break with the old life, a witness that cannot be hidden, and a steadfast hope in Christ's return. The gospel changes everything because it brings us into union with Christ, makes us new creations, and redirects our lives toward God's glory.

Words are powerful. They can build up or break down, soothe or stir up. In Wise Words for Summer, we're looking at Proverbs 15:1–4 and the call to tame the tongue. What we say—and how we say it—matters more than we think. This Sunday, we'll explore how God's wisdom shapes our speech. Because when our words flow from a heart shaped by grace, they point others to Jesus. Each week, we'll explore how God's wisdom speaks into real areas of life—our decisions, our relationships, our words, and our legacy. The Bible is filled with promises and proverbs. But how do we tell the difference, and why does it matter?

The Bible is filled with promises and proverbs. But how do we tell the difference, and why does it matter?

This week in Wise Words for Summer, we're talking about the heart. Not the emoji kind—but the real centre of who you are. Proverbs 4:20–27 reminds us to guard our hearts because everything we do flows from it. That includes what we say, how we act, and the paths we choose.Whether you're on the go or gathered with us in person, let God's Word shape how you live from the inside out. Let's keep our eyes on Jesus, the source of wisdom and life. Each week, we'll explore how God's wisdom speaks into real areas of life—our decisions, our relationships, our words, and our legacy. Church is not a spectator event. It's a body where every member matters. This week, we'll talk about how membership invites you to take part—using your gifts, your presence, and your voice to strengthen the whole. You were made to participate, not just observe it.

Is church just a place you go—or is it a people you belong to? In this message, we look at why belonging to a local church matters more than we realise. Discover how the gospel reshapes our need for connection and why membership is the difference between attending and being known.

After all the battles, heartbreak, and failure, David's story draws to a close. In 2 Samuel 22–23, we hear his final words and a song of praise. It's not a perfect ending—but it's full of grace. David looks back not with pride, but with gratitude. He knows it was God who sustained him, rescued him, and gave him strength to keep going. These chapters remind us that finishing well isn't about having a spotless record—it's about clinging to the faithfulness of God. Even after deep failure, David trusted in the mercy of the Lord. His life points us forward to Jesus—the true King who never failed, and whose grace is enough to help us run our race to the very end.Join us in person each Sunday at 10:00 am at 2458 St Frances Drive.

When life falls apart, where do you turn? In 2 Samuel 15–18, David finds himself in the middle of a storm—betrayed by his own son, forced to flee, and surrounded by uncertainty.
