Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises of the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts and lives. Here are the promises we covered this week. Colossians 1:13 – You are Part of the Kingdom of Light. 2 Peter 3:9 – God is Patient. 2 John 1:3 – Mercy, Grace, and Peace Are With You. John 4:23 – God Seeks True Worshippers. Philippians 2:13 - God is at Work in You.
Today's Promise: Philippians 2:13 The Christian life begins in the heart. God works in your heart to bring about His will and desire. So many Christians try to obey God on the outside without allowing God to change them on the inside. The Christian life is all about allowing the Holy Spirit to transform and empower your thinking so that your actions follow. You will find new strength and power to live the Christian life in victory and service to Christ as you allow God to transform and empower your heart.

A message from Ant Rist at Forest Town Church, St Albans (UK). Ant continues our Family Matters series with Part 2: God at Work (Psalm 111 & 112)
Contestant number 43,212 walked onto the stage to audition for Britain's Got Talent. She stood in sharp contrast to previous performers. Unkempt curly hair and a less than flattering dress suggested a frumpy housewife. Simon Cowell interviewed her briefly and her admission that she was 47 years old caused raised eyebrows and scattered laughter from the audience. Her awkward verbal responses added to the anticipation that her performance would be cut short quickly. Expectations hit rock bottom when she revealed the ambitious choice to sing “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables. But when contestant number 43,212 finished singing just the first phrase, “I dreamed a dream in time gone by” the audience had begun to cheer and applaud while each judge wore a look of amazement and disbelief. Her voice was beautiful and strong. She finished the song to a standing ovation, and Susan Boyle was on her way. Simon Cowell said later she was the textbook example of “never judge a book by its cover.” Sometimes God surprises us in the same way, working in ways and through people we might not expect. My call to the ministry came later in life. At 32 years of age, I was attending seminary full-time, working two part-time jobs, and my wife worked full-time. We were doing our best to take care of three small children and ourselves. Money was tight. A man from my home church knew of our financial stress and handed me a check for a large amount of money. Immediately my pride took over and I said, “Thanks but we'll get by.” After his insistence that I take the money, I refused again. In response, this man said something I've never forgotten. He said, “If you don't take this money, you'll take away the joy and blessing I have from giving it.” Initially I thought his statement was simply trying to convince me to take the money, but as I've grown in my walk with the Lord, I understand now what he meant. For believers there's a joy and blessing that comes as we let God work through us for the sake of others. Meeting the needs of others can reveal God's hand at work. Genesis 37 kicks off the story of Joseph, a narrative filled with betrayal, hardship, and divine purpose. Though Joseph is betrayed by his own brothers, thrown into a pit, and sold into slavery, we see that God never abandons him. This chapter highlights a dysfunctional family, unjust suffering, and God's sovereign hand working through it all. Joseph's story also serves as a powerful foreshadowing of Jesus—loved by the Father, hated by his own, betrayed, and yet ultimately raised up to The post Genesis 37 – God At Work In The Dark appeared first on Island Pond Baptist Church.

There's certainly a need to witness in terms of the historic icons that represent this Arab nation in the Middle East. We need God's help, especially in times of uncertainty or distress. The question isn't, “Will God respond?” More often the question is, “Will we respond to God's help in faith and obedience?” The post ELISHA-SEEING THE HAND OF GOD AT WORK: God's Hand in Meeting Our Needs (YOU-Spr'25, Study 2, Session 2) appeared first on YOU.
Feel like God's given you a gift—but you're not sure what to do with it? You're not alone. In this powerful episode, Pastor Brian sits down with author and ministry leader Dr. Kiersten Telzerow to talk about her new book Rise: Your Gift Will Make Room. With warmth and honesty, Kiersten shares how her childhood dream to serve at National Community Church became a reality—and the long, hard road she took to write the book she knew God was calling her to write. Whether you've buried your gift out of fear or felt stuck waiting for the “perfect time,” Kiersten's story will remind you that God has already made room—you just have to say yes. You'll also hear about the power of prayer, the importance of making room for God's voice, and how to trust the Holy Spirit's lead, even when it's uncomfortable. What happens when one family's “yes” becomes a lifeline for a child in crisis? In this moving “God at Work” episode, Pastor Brian sits down with Brittney Yanoviak to share a powerful story of faith, heartbreak, and hope. When Brittney and her family stepped up to help a child through Safe Families, they had no idea how deeply it would change their lives—and the lives of the children involved. Through a series of God-orchestrated connections between Pathway's food pantry, The Buggy Bunch, and Safe Families, a hurting family found community, support, and the love of Jesus. This episode is a vivid reminder of what God can do when we simply say “yes.” Whether you're donating diapers, serving at a pantry, or opening your home, your obedience matters more than you know. I receive invitations on a regular basis. Not the big invitations such as, “The President and First Lady invite you to spend Christmas at the White House.” The invitations I receive are more mundane. This past week I received a number of invitations in the mail. The local car dealer invited me to look at their new inventory and maybe even spend thousands of dollars on a vehicle. I'll pass. I also received an invitation from the county to pay my property taxes in a timely fashion and avoid jail time. I might take them up on that one. One is God's invitation to join Him in His work, and the primary way He delivers the invitation is to reveal what He's doing. Elisha sets the example for how we should respond to God's call to join Him and serve. Sometimes the most life-changing moments come through unexpected mishaps and mundane routines. God's grace and providence meet us in the everyday, and Jesus, the true and obedient King, is always inviting us to follow Him and to live a life that is continually being transformed by His Spirit.

Pastor John reminds us God is working; God is always working. What we may miss is that He's working in you. Since the first time you asked for forgiveness until your last breath, the Lord's Spirit is at work in you. But before He fills us, He needs to empty us. Pastor John then instructs us that we need to understand how to grow.

If you want the flourishing, thriving life depicted in Psalm 112, you need to know the God of Psalm 111. They can't be separated. They are linked. These two psalms are each 10 verses. Psalm 111 describes the great God, and Psalm 112 describes a great, happy human life. If you know the unshakeable God of Psalm 111, you become unshakeable yourself. To truly know the God of Psalm 111 leads to the life seen in Psalm 112. Looking at Psalm 111 itself, we see a key link between knowing God and having a flourishing life. This psalm teaches about 1) a powerful, involved God, 2) a supernaturally changed life, and 3) the way to connect the power of God to your life. It is by the grace of God that we love, bless and minister to other people. But have we made ministry so complicated that we do not see the beauty of God's work in everyday, ordinary moments? What about our calling and destiny? Should we spend all this time trying to figure out our calling […]
This past Sunday, Carson Goslee started our new teaching series, "Everyday Encounters," with a message on encountering God at work. After Sunday gatherings, we asked for questions and feedback regarding the message on social media. On Monday we sat down with Carson to have a conversation about what encountering God at work can practically look like. We hope you enjoy!
Have you ever felt like you were just going through the motions at work, unable to connect with a deeper sense of purpose? The truth is, you can't rush your way to a life of genuine faith. Your perspective on work and the world around you flows out of your underlying posture - the attitude and mindset you bring to each day. When we adopt a posture of faith, surrendering ourselves to be consumed by God, something miraculous happens. We start to encounter God during our daily grind. Rather than seeing our jobs as mere obligations, work becomes a place where our souls can truly thrive. Imagine what it would be like if you approached each workday acutely aware of God's presence, ready to join Him in the important work He is doing all around you. That kind of encounter has the power to transform the most mundane tasks into sacred moments.
On September 15th, Bob Ingle preached from Genesis 41:39-57 in the fifty-eighth message of our "Genesis" series.
Have you ever visited a construction site, or maybe lived near one?A construction site is a unique kind of mess. Dirt and mud mingle with piles of wood, shingles, and other building materials. Utility flags poke up from the ground like man-made weeds. Trampled grass and dirty sidewalks give further evidence of the work at hand.Eventually, what began as an empty field will grow into something more: a business, a medical facility, or a home.Jeremiah 29:11 says, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'”Sometimes, in the midst of building our lives, we look around and see only chaos: Our relationships aren't as blissful as we hoped. Our career isn't following the upward path we planned. Our health or finances or life circumstances are a mess, and we wonder why our best-laid plans didn't result in the stable, structured life we wanted.God does some of his very best work in the midst of our biggest messes, if we invite him in, and step back to let him work in our lives.Let's pray.Lord, what we see as unworthy, undesirable, and impossible—you see as beautiful, lovable, and filled with potential. We invite you to be the master architect for our lives, and to bring a sense of order to our days, and our circumstances. In Jesus' name, amen.Change your shirt, and you can change the world!
