Light dispels darkness. There is only person that can relieve any of us from the darkness we face...it is JESUS. This is why we celebrate Christmas...THE LIGHT HAS COME. Series Description: Isaiah says of the promised Messiah: “The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine.” At Christmas we remember in the midst of whatever darkness we face, that this light has a name and His name is Jesus. Whether in a land of darkness, or a situation of darkness, we hold onto this hope: Light is Shining in Darkness. When we celebrate Christmas we return once again to the reality that no matter what we may face, everything we need is found in Jesus. It's the darkness and gloom that's a problem in life, isn't it? Which makes sense, since Winter is statistically the saddest yet darkest time of the year. Not so surprisingly, we as Christians celebrate the incarnation of Christ at Christmas, that the Light of the world has come to His creation, and this brings us hope.

The gifts given to Jesus by the magi in the epic story of today's gospel were full of contradictions. They included gold fit for a king as well as spices used for burial. In truth, all of Jesus' life, death and resurrection contradicted most people's expectations. The most radical of these contradictions was that the light of the world would come to be amongst us, in our own journey of life and death. *** Join us In-Person or Online for Worship Sundays at 9:30am and 11am.
