Welcome to the CMS podcast of Calvary Church. We would love to meet you at either of our campuses in Quakertown or Souderton, Pennsylvania.
This week, Calvary Church kicked off a new 10 week program called Wednesday Nights where there will be something for everyone in your family. From theology classes and parent classes for adults, to fun outreach events for Calvary Kids, Students, and Bridge. This first week Dave Walters (Pastor of Calvary Kids), taught a parenting seminar on parenting in a culturally relevant world. We talked about things ranging from how to help your kids and students develop a healthy biblical world view, to the different influences your students have in their lives. Join us as we unpack the grey area of parenting.

This week at CMS we are looking at the first act of the story, God creates. In our teaching this week, Frank talks about the story of creation and how the way we approach reading the bible is important. For better or worse, "the how" of creation is a highly debated topic even within Christian circles. So, if we read the story of creation searching for "the how" , we might end up with more questions than answers. On the other hand, the story of creation clearly answers "the what" and helps us understand "the who(GOD)" better. In this week's podcast, we just recap what we taught while offering some suggestions for how you can talk to your student about Act 1, God Creates. We encourage you to read through Genesis 1-2:3 with your student as you talk to your student about what they learned in CMS.
This week at CMS we are talking about "The story" as we kick off a new ministry year. At Calvary, we talk about the Bible being broken up into 6 acts: God Creates, God is Rejected, God Promises, God Appears, God Sends, and God Restores. In our teaching this week, we talk about each act, and give a general recap of what happened in each act. This week really serves as the foundation of what we are going to be teaching all year. "The Story" serves as a great framework to study the Bible. We can't wait to continue in this journey with your students through "The Story". In this week's podcast, we just recap what we taught while offering some suggestions for how you can talk to your student about "The Story".
