GUEST: MARY JANE WHEATON, David's MomGod designed marriage to be between one man and one woman for life, for husband and wife to love each other, embrace mutually beneficial roles, and raise children to love and obey God. The family is the protective nest, a place of intended peace, that results in Godly individuals and thus God-fearing societies. If one had to state just one reason why our nation is awash in rampant dysfunction, false ideologies, violence, incarceration, drug use, sexual immorality, and all manner of other societal ills, the breakdown of the family would be at the top of the list. Divorce, children being raise by single parents, and hostility between members of the family are all-too-common today.Because the family is so important to God, it is under constant assault by Satan. America has changed so much over the last 60+ years, mostly in God-dishonoring ways. My 90-year-old mother has lived through this great cultural change. She and my dad, who went to be with His Savior and Lord last year, were blessed to be saved by God in their mid-20s. They took the Word of God seriously as it pertains to marriage, parenting, and discipleship. The good news is that in a shifting culture, Christians can thrive, whether married or single. My Mom joins us this Mother's Day weekend to describe what it was like to live through a time of great cultural change all the while standing firm on the truth of God's Word.--------------------------------LOOKING FOR A GRADUATION GIFT?University of Destruction by David WheatonHelp the student in your life be an Overcomer! Drugs, Alcohol, and Swinging in the LS. In a recent podcast episode, a couple delves into the significance of communication and trust when handling uncomfortable situations within the lifestyle. They recount a past encounter with a unicorn that left them uneasy, but through open communication, they were able to address the issues. The husband respected his wife's judgment by allowing her to decide whether to address the concerns or move forward. Ultimately, their trust and effective communication led to a successful playdate with the same woman.
Tim Kaufman was a triple addict. Alcohol and drug abuse combined with binge eating nearly claimed his life. Of the three deadly vices, it was food that had its hooks in him the deepest. It is an addiction more powerful than the fentanyl he was abusing. Ditto for what was in the bottomless liquor bottles he consumed each night. Tim was beaten raw by life until he fought back and clawed his way out of a self-made prison. His journey began at rock bottom, and he has soared to new heights as a leader in the plant-based world thanks to his Fat Man Rants. In this episode, Tim joins "The Weight Loss Champion" Chuck Carroll to talk about the personal hell he created for himself and how he was able to overcome his demons. The two recovering food addicts discuss their take of "cheat days" and why they are the downfall of good health. Especially after weight loss. When and why is Judaism against or for certain drugs? Does Judaism treat legal marijuana as any other drug such as opioids and heroin, or not? What about the legal drug alcohol, which Jewish law seems to encourage? What about drugs that help ease pain for sick patients? This podcast will examine all of these questions.

https://youtu.be/UQvwCBpdgKM?si=CSG1Vw4Q82RzlUKf DeepFake - 2 - True Image Welcome back to Redemption Church! We are so glad to have you here with us in Plano Tx. Blessings to everyone joining us online. We are having a great day today because we are baptizing people into Christ. DeepFake We are in the 2nd week of our series called Deepfake. The people you saw in our intro video are not real. They are digital manipulations created through A.I. – artificial intelligence. Deepfakes are synthetic media that have been digitally manipulated to replace one person's image convincingly with that of another. Deepfakes hijack the creator's image and then manipulate that image for their own liking. Review from last week. -You were made in the image of God. -Sin hijacks that image and corrupts it. -We can reclaim the image of God through Jesus. -Jesus is the image of the invisible God! (Colossians 1:15) I want to remind you that no one is like God. Only God is God.I want to remind you that no other creation is like mankind. Only mankind is made in the image of God. But because of sin, separation was brought between God and mankind. But Jesus is both God and man! Only God is God. Only mankind is mankind. Only Jesus is both! If you want to see God… look to Jesus. He is the image of the invisible God. Through Jesus you can reclaim the image. Today I want to talk to you about the broken image. The Broken Image Imagine you overhear your friend say “Oh no I broke my phone…” You may look over and see them point out a little chip on the side… or a little fracture on the screen… or their charge port is a little loose and doesn't work all the time… The phone has some damage but it is still usable. When we are talking about the broken image of sin, we are NOT talking about a little cosmetic damage. No, we are talking so badly broken that you can barely make out it was a phone. You are questioning the purpose of the device because it is so badly broken, you can't tell what the creator intended it to be anymore. What end am I supposed to speak in?Is this broken shard of glass where I am supposed to dial? -Sin breaks our relationships, friendships, and marriages so badly that the world doesn't know how to use what the creator invented. -Sin has broken our blessings like pleasure, wealth, success so badly that it is a broken piece of materialistic pride. Sin breaks us worse than any cell phone pic I could find… and here is why. John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. The same enemy who slithered up to Eve in Garden, comes to us and steals, kills, and destroys. Sin only steals, kills, and destroys.-Sin will not make you happy.-Sin will not bring you joy.-Sin will not bless your finances.-Sin can not improve your life. Sin breaks you completely. Here is how sin works EVERYTIME. #1 Sin tempts you with what you think will be great fun. #2 You enjoy sin for a very short time. #3 You immediately feel guilt and shame. -The hateful words you said when you lost your temper… you enjoyed that for half a second… then felt terrible. -Stealing is the same… I know people who stole and quickly gave away what they stole because they could bare to look at it anymore because of shame. -Drugs… Alcohol abuse… Physical abuse… Cursing… Lying… Dishonoring your parents… Adam and Eve did not enjoy that forbidden fruit for very long… they regretted it every day of their life. Sin kills, steals, and destroys. The Broken Image Nobody enjoys the broken image, but our enemy. When we start to feel that shame and guilt, we lose all hope. We begin to hate ourselves… We often even think that God must hate us. *1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (NIV) Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the (Censored for Children) immoral (Censored for Children) 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
"Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life. Keep going. Tough situations build strong people in the end." -Roy T. Bennett In life, we have the ability and power to choose the outcomes of very little. What we wear, how we speak, and how we react to situations. Not much more. How do we know what to choose? Who are we supposed to be? What does a “good” person do? For the first time, we welcome this weeks guest Wayne Minnicks. A long time friend of Mike's. Listen in as he shares his raw story of his previous decade long struggle with drugs, alcohol, and sex addiction. -What drove him to choose these ways? -How/why did he do it for so long? -When did it click that he desired to change? -What actions were taken to get help and change? This episode is very raw, real, and upfront about the darkness that addiction can bring, but also very much filled with truth, ownership, hope, and faith. We appreciate our guest for his testimony and his new purpose to create a 365 day devotional book on recovery to help others who are lost in the darkness of disease and pain. Our listener asks, "I believe I have been saved, although I can't remember the day. However I have always attended churches that preach you have to be really sorry for sin, and turn from all your sin to ‘really' be saved. I'm so confused now, because I recently got a divorce, and my children don't want to have anything to do with me. I gave into the temptation to get into another relationship that I thought would last, but it didn't. Now, all I feel is pain, disappointment, depression and anxiety. I can't take much more of this, and would like to talk to someone about it. I found this ministry when Dr. Arnold was the head pastor, and what he said really made sense. I do struggle with the way I have been living because it has not been good with sex, drugs, and alcohol to try and dull the pain. Most pastors tell me that's a sign that I am not really saved. Please, I hope you can help me." SUBSCRIBE https://www.youtube.com/c/bibleline LIKE https://www.facebook.com/biblelinemin TWEET https://www.twitter.com/biblelinemin COMMENT ask us a question! SOBERISDOPE.COM Tim Lodgen grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, where he signed a skateboard contract that had him riding with Bucky Lasek and Brandon Novak. Playing sports kept him away from drugs and alcohol until he enlisted in the Marine Corps as a Senior in High School. He thought he'd let off some steam before he had to enter the highly regimented life of a soldier, and during that time, he did every drug he could get his hands on. Soon he was deployed to Somalia, where massive amounts of alcohol took the place of the drugs. When he finally returned home, he was happy to be out of the military but quickly fell into a deep depression that had him sitting with a gun in his lap and thinking about suicide. He finally admitted his depression and was diagnosed with Bi-Polar disorder. Still, without ever admitting to his drug and alcohol use, he spent the next 20 years with incorrect doses that did little for his mental health. Tim then began a career as an MMA fighter. An eventual injury led him to introduce opiates into his use, which sent his addiction to another level and caused a second suicide attempt. He finally found help 27 years into his addiction after his wife discovered him preparing to take his own life. He has since become the healthiest version of himself, even coming in 3rd place in a Muscle and Fitness bodybuilding contest. Tim now uses his platform to help others by telling his story, working with the homeless, and offering addiction and health advice through his Instagram account. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/soberisdope/message

When I started working with teens 20 years ago, I quickly learned that teens often LOOK very adult, and they're often making adult decisions, but they're still kids! Teens and young adults need strong mentors who care about them to help steer them straight, especially when it comes to alcohol, drugs and addiction. Today we're so grateful to welcome interventionist Bobby Newman to the show, to share his life experiences and professional expertise to shed some light on The reason MOST teens turn to drugs and alcohol How you can support your child if you suspect they're using drugs or alcohol How Bobby showed up as the parent his son needed in a time of crisis Connect with Bobby at Newman Interventions Connect with Deanne @radiantmompodcast Grab your Radiant Mom Daily Pause HERE
