Good church government doesn't just organize authority — it protects the congregation from human nature. We work through directories for public worship, why denominations allow the broader church to hold a bigger tent without everyone worshiping identically, and how Presbyterian polity's specific structures guard against the failure modes of one-man leadership.

Presbyterian convictions don't stop at church government — they shape how we worship, how we behave in the room, and even what the room looks like. We work through Acts 15 as the biblical model for elder deliberation, then trace how the same theology that governs the session also governs worship architecture, posture, and the question of who worship is actually designed for.

Where does Presbyterianism come from, and is it actually biblical? We survey the four major views of church government, trace the case for rule by elders from the Old Testament through the New, and show how those convictions shape the day-to-day life of Covenant of Grace.

What does it look like for a church to believe Scripture is, truly, the authority? We work through what it means to hold sola scriptura, where that conviction most commonly breaks down, and why getting it right shapes everything from how we counsel to how we teach our children. We close by connecting unconditional election to the only thing that can free a person from anxiety-driven obedience.

What does it mean that Christ's work is finished — and what shifts when that conviction is lost? We work through Solus Christus and all five points of TULIP, tracing how each doctrine connects to the way Covenant of Grace prays, preaches, practices discipline, and understands assurance.

Why does doctrine exist, and what's at stake when we get it wrong? We trace the Reformation's roots and work through two of the five solas — faith alone and grace alone — showing how both doctrines shape the worship and community culture at Covenant of Grace.

Austin, Steven, and Paul continue the discussion on the theological convictions behind our approach to COG.

Jake, Steven, and Paul were part of the initial group that planted COG. What guided the decisions?

We render to each lord what they are due. What will you render to Jesus?

A prophet gets no honor in his hometown. Even miracles can be met with unbelief.

Jesus continues to show his authority, and his kingship, in ever expanding circles.

Jesus continues to teach through and about parables to show the truths they reveal.

While the parable is about soil and seed, the point is about the sower.

What is the unforgivable sin and who can commit it? Why do we need ears to hear to really hear the secret of the faith?

Jesus' demonstrations of authority are meant to provoke a response. Who do you say he is?

Mark 2 begins five controversies that Jesus provokes early in his ministry.

Jesus calls his first disciples and goes on the move validating his ministry and teaching about the kingdom.

Starting a new series in the Gospel of Mark, we want to know what it's about. Mark wastes no time getting to the point.

QA with the class on examples of how we put these things into practice faithfully.

What about God's design of women relates to how they love and can love? What about the fall and the curse fights against it?

What does it mean to love? How can we love? Why do we love?

How has the Church's approach to understanding Scripture changed over the years? What do we keep and what do we leave behind?

Christ is the key to unlocking the meaning of the Old Testament. That's why the New Testament is our greatest aid to getting from words to meaning.

How do we get from words about truth to the understanding of truth? Hermeneutics.

We've heard of the "Five Points of Calvinism," but do we know what they're responding to and why that matters?

Where does Christian theology begin? With God-centered faith.

Why bother organizing the teachings of Scripture? Because the church needs it to do her work well!

Why does doctrine matter? Because, without it, the church cannot be the church!

What's a worldview? What are the competing perspectives on the ultimate?

As God fulfills his promise to his people, there are several important points the writer of Joshua wants us to see.

As God fulfills his promise to his people, there are several important points the writer of Joshua wants us to see.

Why is God so upset with his people? What's the big deal?

How does God work? In a far more comprehensive, wise, and effective way that we would.

God calls us to remember his goodness. And he gives lots of help for the task.

What can we do in our own strength? If we really believe it's nothing, isn't God gracious to show us?

How do we find the idols that are poisoning our relationships? How hard are we willing to look?

It's not hard to find what's at the center of the Rahab story.

As an(other) Christian, Protestant, Reformed, and Presbyterian church, what makes COG unique?

Does God have an opinion on how he's worshipped? You bet he does.

How important is church government? What does Scripture have to say about it?

In this lesson we talk about TULIP: how God saves.

Picking up on "Faith Alone," we work through Grace (alone), Christ (alone), Scripture (alone), to the Glory of God (alone)!

Why does "Faith Alone" matter and what are the Protestants protesting?

What does it mean to be a Christian? Where do we draw the line? What is faith, really?
