Hospitality is more than greeting people at the door—it's a way of life. Continuing our Everyday Distinctives series, Pastor David McGregor explores why hospitality is one of the unique callings God has placed on Everyday Church. Drawing from the life of Jesus, this message reminds us that hospitality is not a program or event, but a Spirit-led posture of love, grace, and truth. Whether around a table, in a conversation, or through a simple act of kindness, we're called to make space for people to encounter the love of Christ. Discover how biblical hospitality can transform our homes, our church, and our everyday lives as we learn to welcome others the way Jesus welcomed us.   From Sunday 07.05.26

This week we continue our Everyday Distinctives series by exploring why NextGen is one of the unique callings God has placed on Everyday Church. In a world flooded with information, anxiety, and competing voices, how do we raise a generation with spiritual roots deep enough to stand? Pastor Randy looks at the biblical picture of the “last days,” the surprising spiritual hunger emerging in Gen Z, and why the church must move beyond programs to genuine discipleship. This message is both a vision for Everyday Church and a challenge to every believer. Whether you're a parent, grandparent, student, volunteer, or simply someone who cares about the future of the Church, you'll discover that investing in the next generation isn't someone else's responsibility—it's ours. Join us as we pray over our children, students, and young adults, believing that the promise of Acts 2 is still alive today: God is still pouring out His Spirit on sons and daughters.   From Sunday 06.28.26

Healing (Everyday Distinctives)

The Everyday Church Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 24, 2026 33:59

What does it really mean to be healed? In this Father's Day message, Pastor Randy continues the Everyday Distinctives series by unpacking the second distinctive of Everyday Church: Healing. Far beyond physical recovery, Scripture presents healing as wholeness — spirit, soul, and body. Through the Greek word sozo, we discover that the same word often translated “saved” is also translated “healed,” revealing God's desire not only to forgive us, but to restore every broken part of our lives. Drawing from Mark 5, Romans 12, and the story of the woman with the issue of blood, this message explores why healing begins with honesty, how hidden wounds impact families for generations, and why pursuing personal wholeness may be one of the most loving things a husband, father, or parent can do. Healing isn't a department. It's a culture. And as God heals us, He invites us to become safe places where others can find healing too. Healed people help heal people. From Sunday 06.21.26

Worship (Everyday Distinctives)

In this message, Pastor Randy introduces the first of Everyday Church's five Distinctives: Worship. What if worship is bigger than music? Bigger than a Sunday service? Bigger than a moment of emotion or an experience at the altar? As Everyday Church continues to unpack its vision and culture, this message explores why worship has been a defining mark of the church from the very beginning—and why God may be calling His people into something deeper than performance, preference, or attendance. Drawing from 2 Kings 3, Romans 12, and the story of the early church, Pastor Randy examines the tension between musical worship and a life of worship. He discusses the role of the Holy Spirit, the importance of both anointing and formation, and the danger of reducing worship to something we consume rather than something we become. The invitation is simple but challenging: not merely to attend worship, but to offer our entire lives to God as a living sacrifice. Because Jesus didn't die so we could be entertained by worship. He died so we could become worship.   From Sunday 06.14.26

What truly sets a classical Christian classroom apart?Curriculum matters, but as Mandi Gerth explains, it is not the only or even the primary driver of formation. A child is shaped day after day by the culture of the classroom, the small liturgies, the tone of the teacher, and the habits that govern transitions, conversations, and even how class begins and ends.Host Davies Owens talks with Mandy about her book Thoroughness and Charm: Cultivating the Habits of a Classical Classroom and about what it means for a teacher to be a “monarch” in the best sense, an authority who orders the room so that students can rest, attend, and delight in learning. They discuss the difference between entertainment and genuine engagement, how joy differs from “fun,” and why liturgy is such a powerful antidote to chaos in both school and home.Mandi also addresses the “3:01 p.m. problem,” naming how easy it is for phones, entertainment, and scattered schedules to undo the formation that happens during the school day. She shares simple habits any family can start, even in just a few minutes a day, to reinforce attention, conversation, and a shared story centered on Christ.
