Sometimes there's a difference between what we believe and what we admit to believing. Our study in Philippians resumes in chapter 3 with our teacher, Dr. John G. Mitchell. You are listening to the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast. The book of Philippians is a letter expressing the joy which Christians can experience. This is exemplified in the life of the Apostle Paul himself, who although imprisoned in Rome, said, 'Complete my joy', and 'Rejoice with me' and 'I rejoiced in the Lord greatly'. In another passage he exhorts us, 'Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice'. The Lord Jesus is the one in whom we can and should rejoice, is He not? He is the one who wraps us in His own righteousness so that we may know Him. Let's continue with Dr. Mitchell, here in Philippians chapter 3 verses 7 - 9. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/unchanging-word/message

568 Jesus, The Lord, Hath Sent Me, A Guided Christian Meditation on Acts 9:17-19 with the Recenter With Christ app The purpose of this podcast is to help you find more peace in your life and connect with the true source of peace, Jesus Christ. Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization. Get into a place where you can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tensing or unrelaxing. If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes. Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation: Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate, deflate. Scripture for Meditation ACTS 9 KJV 17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. 18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received "sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized. 19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus. NIV 17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul's eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength. Meditation: Ananias received a very clear sign from God regarding what he should do. He didnt have to wonder if he got the right message. His struggle was to do that thing even though he had concerns about Saul. He didnt know the future. He knew he was supposed to do. He went in and laid hands on Saul and healed him. The Lord does not follow the same pattern with each person. He knows what we need and what the world needs and he uses imperfect people to do them. Ananias was not chosen because he was the most holy person. He was chosen for Gods purpose which we will likely never fully understand. You have unique purpose for which God has created you. Many times we struggle with decisions or what we should do. Sometimes it is because we dont know what to do. Sometimes we tell ourselves that it is because we dont know what to do but we do. There are many times when we know we should walk away from a certain situation or sin and we struggle, then we tell ourselves that we just wish we knew Gods will, all the while our conscience convicts us. Although there are plenty of times when we dont know what to do in life, there are many many times when we know what we should do. We know we should seek out a community of relievers to celebrate in worship together, we know we should reach out and apologize, we know we should stop doing a certain thing. We do not need a vision to get the kind of determination needed to be blessed by the outcome God knows we can have. Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials. Summarize what insights you have gained during this meditation and meditate and visualize positive change in your life: This is a listener funded podcast at patreon.com/christianmeditationpodcast Updates: Final Question: Final Thought: FIND ME ON: Download my free app: Recenter with Christ Website - ChristianMeditationPodcast.com Voicemail - (602) 888-3795 Email: jared@christianmeditationpodcast.com Apple Podcasts - Christian Meditation Podcast Facebook.com/christianmeditationpodcast Youtube.com/christianmeditaitonpodcast Twitter - @ChristianMedPod
Tim Leary | Psalm 40 | Psalms of Jesus | The Lord blesses the man who trusts in Him. Jesus's sacrifice is enough for salvation. References to U2 and C.S. Lewis were the fun part of the message.
Today we continue in our study of the book of John, and as Pastor Dustin Clegg walks us through John 6:60-71 he has 4 observations from the text:(1) Our flesh is completely unhelpful in genuine salvation (John 6:60-65);(2) Salvation cannot be disconnected from genuine following (John 6:66);(3) Two things must exist in a genuine confession of faith in Jesus (John 6:67-69) - a. We must know who Jesus is ("You are the Holy One of God") b.We must trust Him completely and only ("Lord, to whom will we go");(4) Proximity to Jesus does not equal genuine salvation (John 6:70-71).There is a question we must ask ourselves:What is the thing that if Jesus told you to do it you'd be out?
