We are back! Back again! Gamestein's back! Welcome to Dr. Gamenstein, where three weird friends dare each other to play games, and then get together to construct our own game monstrosity! After a bit of a bit of a hiatus, we come back to you with a game set in a Lisa Frank apocalypse. You are a sludge-man, or perhaps a small child?, with one of those stretchy sticky hands, wandering the overly bright and vibrant and WILD wasteland, slapping stickers on this broken world to slowly paste it back together! Probably. It's been a while! The one thing we know is that our logo is DISGUSTING.This time, we brought a space-simulation-slash-crafting-slash-discovery-game Astroneers, a fast-paced grapple-hook focused action-platformer called Silver Grapple, and...Sludge Life. Sludge! Life! A game set in a dreary, grimy city made up a bunch of unique story vignettes where you're drawn to tag whatever you can! Yeah, these were some neat ones. -Game Spoiler Warning!-  4:39 - Murder By Numbers16:20 - Guild of Dungeoneering25:08 - Deathtrap Dungeon 38:03 - Our Monster This episode was edited by Tony Zahnle.Icon by Kevin Zuhn.Intro and Outro are 'Video Dungeon Boss' by Kevin MacLeod (Available under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license.) Welcome to Dr. Gamenstein, where three weird friends dare each other to play games, and then get together to construct our own game monstrosity!  Okay, these are admittedly some very tough times. So why not unwind with the soothing tones of Danny Devito grumbling about your picross solving as you attempt to solve the murder of the Dark Lord and figure out which adventurer is responsible? Every room is a narrated experience...and a puzzle...which might also have another puzzle inside? At the end, who stabbed the evil demonic ruler of this adobe with their gleaming sword of justice?? This time, June played a grid-based rogue-light dungeon-building experience called Guild of Dungeoneering. Tony brought Murder by Numbers, a Phoenix-Wright-like murder-solving game where it is heavily mechanically Picross! And Kevin played a heavily narrated (by Eddie Marsan, no less!) dungeon-crawling choose-your-own-adventure game called Deathtrap Dungeon! -Game Spoiler Warning!-  5:20 - Murder By Numbers22:17 - Guild of Dungeoneering39:04 - Deathtrap Dungeon 53:46 - Our Monster This episode was edited by June Sery.Icon by Kevin Zuhn.Intro and Outro are 'Video Dungeon Boss' by Kevin MacLeod (Available under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license.) Welcome to Dr. Gamenstein, where three weird friends dare each other to play games, and then get together to construct our own game monstrosity!  So, we'll be honest, due to a number of reasons, we just didn't want to talk about our chosen games this time! So instead, we decided to change up our formula, get a little messy, and we brought our own little game bits in from home, and this time, we didn't even dare each other to play them! As a result, enjoy our new bizarre procedural extremely short demake-remake take on everyone's favorite green-hatted hero, Lonk! ...Wait. Link! That's right, it's Six Steps From Zelda! This time, June played a fast-paced MMBN-spiritual successor as a roguelike, One Step From Eden! We also played...well...Final Fantasy 7. You all know that one, right? The one with the spiky hair and big sword? Well Tony played that one...both original and Remake! And Kevin played an hour long spectacle action extravaganza, Bright Memory! -Game Spoiler Warning!-  8:50 - One Step From Eden27:10 - Final Fantasy 7 Remake (and original??)46:50 - Bright Memory 59:50 - Our Monster This episode was edited by Kevin Zuhn.Icon by Kevin Zuhn.Intro and Outro are 'Video Dungeon Boss' by Kevin MacLeod (Available under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license.) Welcome to Dr. Gamenstein, where three weird friends dare each other to play games, and then get together to construct our own game monstrosity!  Happy quarantine! We have to admit, movie about the blue hedgehog really got our minds racing...fast. Gotta...GO fast. Like a Father and Son detective agency solving a non-linear vandalism plot about who exploded a watermelon. And the only way to solve it? Lobbing your detective father at high speeds through the house to reach those hard-to-get musically-hinted clues! And, why yes, the music genre themeing this time IS Ska, why do you ask? This time we played a top-down twitch-action gorilla game called Ape Out, a bordering-on-surrealist point and click adventure game starring the titular Frog Detective, both games 1 and 2, and also a child-throwing exploratory puzzle/platformer called Dad Quest!  -Game Spoiler Warning!-  8:47 - Ape Out21:58 - Frog Detective 1& 235:05 - Dad Quest 48:13 - Our Monster This episode was edited by June Sery.Icon by Kevin Zuhn.Intro and Outro are 'Video Dungeon Boss' by Kevin MacLeod (Available under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license.) Join our wayward trio of lost board game pieces trying to reclaim their friends across a cluttered house-scape. Charge forward as the unstoppable Rook! King your enemies as Checkers(?)! Rise high and construct platforms with your family as Jengo! And Lord Bucket himself stands at the end, consuming all into his insatiable center. We played Bug Fables, a Paper Mario-like RPG adventure with a bunch of adorable little bugs and a lot of humor and charm, Dicey Dungeons, a semi-roguelite dice battle game about a bunch of diced heroes attempting to win their freedom from a deadly game show, and Youropa, a 3D puzzle platformer revolving around a painted ragdoll exploring the upended ruins of Paris, France to bring everything back together. -Game Spoiler Warning!-  Bug Fables - 5:15Dicey Dungeons - 23:00Youropa - 36:22 Our Game - 52:15   This episode was edited by Kevin Zuhn.Icon by Kevin Zuhn.Intro and Outro are 'Video Dungeon Boss' by Kevin MacLeod (Available under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license.) That's right, trapped in the world of Pokémon without any of that fancy technology to catch the mysterious magical monsters that roam the land, we instead use our wonderful abilities to compete. That's right! We literally consume the words of our opponents and leave them empty husks, with the hope of one day defeating the Champion Clown! ...How did we get here, you ask? We played Later Alligator, a charmingly illustrated adventure/mini-game collection staring talking alligators who are investigating a light-hearted assassination plot slash birthday party, Beglitched, a pure puzzle match-three game involving delving into a witch's laptop to delete her hackers, and a fan-made holiday spoof-game, Merry Gear Solid 1 and 2, where you...uh. As the world around you descends into madness, as slot machines dab and shoes wildly inflate, you better parkour yourself to the rocking beat of Crush 40 if you hope to bounce your way through this...puzzle-platformer?  Y'know, genres are useless for describing games anyway.  This month, we played the indie darling Untitled Goose Game, a puzzle-honker where you're a goose causing mischief, Control, a third-person horror shooter vaguely related on the creepy abstract terror and lore of the SCP Foundation, and Sayonara Wild Hearts, just the most visually breathtaking action-rhythm/interactive soundtrack game you've ever played.  -Game Spoiler Warning!-  Untitled Goose Game - 1:36Control - 12:35Sayonara Wild Hearts - 30:51 Our Game - 43:29 This episode was edited by Tony Zahnle!Icon by Kevin Zuhn.Intro and Outro are 'Video Dungeon Boss' by Kevin MacLeod (Available under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license.)
