Speaker: Pastor NickSynopsis: This morning we continue our new series: "Questions in Red" where our teaching is based off of one or more questions that were asked by Jesus. Question asking was a common method of Rabbinic teaching and today we dive into Mark 8 where Jesus asks, "Why does this generation ask for a sign?" Simultaneously, Jesus warns his disciples not to get caught up in in the "yeast" of the Pharisee and Herod. These two things are both connected AND relevant to today! Want to learn more? Speaker: Pastor NickSynopsis: This morning we continue our new series: "Questions in Red" where our teaching is based off of one or more questions that were asked by Jesus. Did you know that Jesus was asked over 300 questions but only directly answered about 8? Jesus would often teach by posing a question or respond to questions with another question. This morning we jump into Matthew 16 where Jesus asks the question: Who do you say I am? Jesus wants to know what the crowd thinks and what the disciples think - the contrast is fascinating! When Peter does answer on behalf of the disciples - we dig into what it means then and for us today.

Periodically we take time to pass the mic and encourage one another and life up the name of God by sharing how God has been at work in our lives and the start of a new year is the perfect time to look back and reflect on where God has been moving. For this reason when the sharing starts we will NOT BE STREAMING due to privacy for those sharing. Speaker: Pastor NickDate: December 28, 2025Synopsis: Today we conclude our Advent series "From Birth to Rebirth" where we have looked at the themes of Faith, Hope, Love and Joy and see how Jesus' birth changes our understanding of all these things both in Biblical times and modern. This morning we hold our candlelight service, instead of Christmas Eve, and look at JOY. God, through Jesus, entered into darkness - our darkness - rather than be set apart and understanding this brings us JOY which changes both our viewpoint and our circumstances. Want to hear more?
We're very excited to be at the New York Tea Society's new Tea Studio in midtown Manhattan, chatting with NYTS' founder Roy Lamberty. Roy was a guest on Talking Tea in 2018 and he's back today to talk with us about how NYTS has evolved since our earlier episode, and how its beautiful new Tea Studio came to be. Roy tells us about his experiences around gongfu tea tables in China, and his vision of building those experiences into a tranquil, communal tea space in New York City. We chat about the studio as a space to have tea on your own or around a communal gongfu table, its aesthetics and design elements, the studio's location in New York's Koreatown, and Roy's very successful work in building community through tea. We also delve into the sourcing of some of NYTS's very unique tea offerings. Roy talks with us about the lineup of events and themed sessions at the tea studio, and the NYTS tea education programming at the studio and through the NYTS online virtual tea group and its programs. We also discuss NYTS' optional membership plans and its online tea market. NYTS teas and teaware are available for purchase at the tea studio and through its online tea market. Information about the tea studio, directions, hours and reservations, and the NYTS online offerings are on the NYTS website.
