This episode is not for the faint of heart. In this episode I share about the excuses I was giving myself for not pursing my faith with my whole heart. I was listening to the opinions of others instead of listening to the promises of God. God reveals Himself in the Bible as a gentle, forgiving Father, intimately involved with each and every detail of our lives. It is not only a beautiful picture, but a true one. However, every person seems to have a different idea of what God is like, because unconsciously we tend to attach the feelings and impressions that we have of our own earthly father to their concept of their Heavenly Father. We talk about this and so much more in this week's episode of For The One Podcast. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fortheonepodcast/support
As believers, we need a revelation of God's faithfulness. Being able to fully trust God is the beginning of living an abundant life. If you don't fully believe that God is faithful to lead you into the best possible life you could live, then you won't seek out his will, trust him with your possessions, or be able to fully enjoy his presence. We also talk about the Armor of God deeply in this episode. In Ephesians 6:10-20, Paul explains that it is the strength of God that is necessary since the enemy is not human but spiritual in nature. But it is impossible to do this without first understanding and believing in the faithfulness of God and his character. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fortheonepodcast/support
Part 2 of Growing Pains with President Graves!!! What does it mean to be an intentional christian, to live an intentional life? It's a daily dedication of our lives to living for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It doesn't mean that we will always follow through. Sometimes we may even fail miserably. But an Intentional Christian lives with the goal: “Today, I give my all for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” Talking about this and so much more with President Graves (David Graves) in this weeks episode of the growing pains series! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fortheonepodcast/support
Self-control is the discipline of delaying impulse or gratification for a greater purpose or cause. When we exercise self-control, we are saying “no” for the sake of a bigger and better “yes.” We are trading something in the here and now for something greater in the future. In order to develop self-control, we must first be honest with ourselves about our weaknesses. Each one of us is different. Some of us are tempted by overeating, others by greed or gossip. By being aware of what tempts us, we can take our struggles to God. Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit, and we have self-control when we “keep in step” with the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-25). He empowers us to overcome temptation. She has such insight and wisdom into God's word and a powerful testimony that made this time catching up and sharing about our growing pains such an amazing time. What does trusting in God mean when you don't know which path to trust him with? Is trusting God a feeling? Or more? Life is not predictable. There are ups and downs along the way. Many of us want to trust God. When times are good, it can feel easier. But when times feel difficult, it is even more important to trust God. God's unchanging character can give us a firm foundation when things feel unsteady and uncertain. For the one experiencing some serious growing pains, this episode is for you. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fortheonepodcast/support

The Growing Pains Series! An Introduction. (Please excuse the low audio quality - technical difficulties) Growth is supposed to hurt. The ache and discomfort of pain can be agonizing, but it is necessary and always beneficial. God created us, not to stay stagnant, but to always be growing in Him and becoming more like Jesus. But it's not easy, and we can certainly stunt it. Coming out of this growing pains season, we shouldn't be stunted in our growth - but even more equipped to do what the Lord has called us to do. The reality is that being a Christian doesn't exclude us from facing genuine fears and anxieties. Disease still strikes, friends still betray, bodies still fail, life still hurts. But in this episode I came to remind you that our hope is in the God of the universe and that we as Believers are equipped with the tools we need to fight this battle for peace. So, for the one who feels anxious, there is no reason to fear, especially when we have a father who was willing to give us a savior from the sin we hadn't even committed yet. (Romans 8:32) ‘He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?'” And that includes peace of mind during this AND every season. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fortheonepodcast/support

Testimony Tuesday with Elizabeth Mintah (@lizmintonly1) !! Giving your personal testimony is a way to share the gospel with others by explaining your personal salvation experience. It gives other an example of how God changes lives. It is one of the most effective means of sharing your faith because, although a person can try to refute that Jesus alone offers salvation, they cannot refute the fact that you've found reason to place your hope in Christ.
