Love + Light series God Is Love Adam Hill
In this exploration of God's love and design for relationships, we're taken on a journey from the very beginning of creation to our present-day lives. The central theme revolves around the pattern of blessing and trust established in Genesis, where God created humans in His image and blessed them. This pattern, rooted in the Trinity's love, continues through Christ's relationship with the Church and extends into our marriages and families. We're challenged to see how God's love, demonstrated through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, should shape our own relationships. The message encourages us to embrace a 'cruciform' love - one that's willing to sacrifice and serve others, just as Christ did for us. This perspective transforms how we view our spouses, children, and even ourselves, calling us to see the beauty and value in each person as God sees us. As we reflect on this message, we're invited to examine our own relationships and consider how we can better embody God's love in our daily lives.Chapter 1: The Origin of Love in God's Trinity0:00 - 10:00Exploring the concept of love within the Trinity and its manifestation in creation.Chapter 2: Christ's Love for the Church10:00 - 20:00Discussing how Christ's love for the church sets the pattern for human relationships.Chapter 3: Love in Marriage and Family20:00 - 30:00Applying the pattern of Christ's love to marriage and parenting.Chapter 4: Living Out God's Love in All Relationships30:00 - 40:00Extending the pattern of God's love to all relationships and circumstances. Keywords#GodIsLove#Trinity#ImageOfGod#JesusChrist#Church#SpiritualBlessings#Marriage#HusbandAndWife#CruciformLove#Submission#Trust#Obedience#Parenting#ChildrenOfGod#BlessingCycle#Reconciliation#HolySpirit#WisdomOfGod#KingdomOfGod#FearOfTheLord

SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 13 & 2 Corinthians 4:1-6 YOU CAN ALSO READ KENNY'S MANUSCRIPT FOR THIS SERMON HERE!REFLECTION/DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:What does it mean to say that “God is love”?Can you think of a situation in your life where understanding God's love changed the way you acted or felt towards someone else?In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul emphasizes that “love does not insist on its own way.” What do you think this means? How can you practice not insisting on your own way in a disagreement with a friend, a family member, a coworker, a neighbor? What do you think of the idea of “holding space”? Can you see this idea at work in God's treatment of us? Can it influence how you treat others?Reflect on a time when someone “held space” for you: how did it feel? What ended up happening? This message encourages us to act without losing heart when loving others. What are some challenges you face when it comes to showing unconditional love?Paul says Christians are ambassadors of God's perfect love: what might this mean for you?Where do you need to go in order to meet new people and build deeper, more loving relationships with them?

Test the Spirits (Verses 1–6): Believers are warned not to believe every spirit but to test them to see whether they are from God. A true spirit acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. Those who deny this are not from God but from the spirit of the antichrist. 2.God Is Love (Verses 7–21): The second half of the chapter emphasizes that love is the defining mark of God's children. If we truly know God, we will love others—because God is love. •God showed His love by sending His Son to die for our sins. •If God loves us that much, we should also love one another. •Perfect love casts out fear—especially fear of punishment—because love involves trust and intimacy with God. •If someone says, “I love God,” but hates their brother or sister, they are lying.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sendme-radio--732966/support.

Modern people struggle with the question: How can God be both a God of love and a God of judgment? This passage shows us that the presence of judgment doesn't contradict love. The presence of judgment gives us a far deeper love.
There is nothing that God does not know: past, present, or future. His knowledge of all things is unmatched and extends beyond our comprehension.Preached on July 13th, 2025 by Jared Kress.Series: "God Is _____: The Attributes of God" Join us in person Sundays at 10:30am at 6325 Poplar Ave, Memphis TN or online at https://www.kirbywoods.org/live. Trinitarians sometimes argue that 1 John 4:8 ("God is love") demands that God be triune in nature. In his popular book Mere Christianity, Christian apologist C. S. Lewis wrote, “The words ‘God is love' have no real meaning unless God contains at least two Persons. Love is something that one person has for another person. If God was a single person, then before the world was made, He was not love.” Dr. David K. Bernard counters this philosophical argument with an examination of what Scripture says about God's character and nature.Visit PentecostalPublishing.com to shop Dr. Bernard's full catalog of published works. John 5:18 For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God. The Jews understood exactly what Jesus was saying. His Father is God, and He is equal with God. But they didn't believe it. It angered them and fueled their murderous hearts. It was bad enough that He broke the Sabbath, but it was blasphemous to make Himself equal with God. Jesus knew who He is. He is God. Jesus is the only human being of which this is true in the history of the world. He is like no other. The writer of Hebrews described Jesus as “the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature.” However, we are not to think that Jesus is the Father. He is God's only-begotten, or unique, son, as John recorded in John 3:16. Jesus said in Matthew 11:27, “All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.” This shows clearly that the Father and Son are both God, and yet they are separate beings, working together. For our encouragement today, let's connect some dots, so to speak. Jesus is God, and God is love. Because we have all of God dwelling in us, we have the fullness of God from which His love flows. Living to love with Jesus is how I describe those who have the God of love dwelling inside them. Through the new birth by the Holy Spirit, the presence of Jesus Christ comes to abide in those who love Jesus. Because they love Jesus, the Father also abides in them. Jesus promised this in His last words to His disciples before going to His Father by way of the cross. John 14:23. “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.” Why do the Father, Son, and Spirit live within us? To glorify God by revealing His presence and power as we live to love with Him. We reveal that Jesus lives and that He is both Lord and Christ. What a privilege it is to be His ambassadors of love, His representatives on the earth. May God fill us with His grace today as we walk with Him, abiding in Him, and He in us. 1 John 4V7-12 with Bethany Allen At the center of our faith is this stunning reality: God is love (1 John 4v8). This means that love isn't just something God does—it's who he is. Out of this very nature, God created life and sent his Son into the world. He did not do this in response to our love for him, but because he first loved us (1 John 4v9–10). As followers of Jesus, we are invited to receive that love deeply and let it shape our whole lives. https://bridgetown.church/teaching

Today we celebrate the central mystery of the Christian faith: That the one God is a Communion of Love: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. While God never needed to reveal this to us, He did in Jesus Christ. As if this wasn't amazing enough, He chooses to allow us to share with Him the Divine Life by giving us of His Spirit -- the Love which flows between Father and Son.
It's been said that First John "is a masterpiece in the art of edification" (George Findley, 1909).In this series, we will see how the Apostle John exhibits tender, pastoral care as he calls the church back to the three basics of Christian life: true doctrine, obedient living, and fervent devotion. This week's message, GOD IS LOVE, comes out of 1 JOHN 4:7-21.Website: http://www.rittmangrace.orgFacebook: Rittman Grace Brethren Church Instagram: rittmangrace Twitter: RittmanGraceYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaXPiaa4z3iZMA4DkCihtHg TikTok: rittmangbc

We all want to be loved. What if love isn't just something God does, but it's who He is?We all have ideas about God. Some comforting, some confusing, and some we don't even know where they came from. But what if the way you see God is shaping the way you are living without you even realizing it? And who is God anyway? The answer might not be what you were expecting.
“The books of the Holy Bible never say but one time just exactly what God is, but in three little words it pours out a hundred million college educations and says, ‘God Is Love.' And that is the only real definite answer to ten thousand wild queries and questions that I my own self have tossed at my Bible. That is the only really sensible, easy, honest, warm, plain, quick, and clear answer I found - when I was ready to throw so-called fearful, cowardly, thieving, poisoning, religion out my trash door. It was those three words that made not only religion, but also several other sorts of superstitious fears and hatreds in me meet one very quick death: God is Love. Love is the only God that I will ever believe in.” - Woody Guthrie
