Last weekend's storms, coupled with king tides, caught Marin County cities like Corte Madera, Sausalito and San Rafael off guard. Floodwaters spilled over levees, covered bike trails, and surrounded homes and businesses. Nobody was seriously injured and the level of damage is still being assessed. But it's a wake-up call for residents, both in Marin County and across the Bay Area, about the risk of more flooding in our future. Description:What if the most faithful thing we could do right now is simply pay attention? In this episode of For the Love, Jen and Amy sit down with theologian, ethics professor, and artist Lee C. Camp for a soulful conversation about the kind of faith that wakes us up to what truly matters. As part of our Wake Up Call series on faith, Lee invites us to slow down and notice the world—our lives, our neighbors, and the beauty that keeps trying to reach us. Together, they explore why paying attention is not a luxury but a spiritual practice—and how our obsession with productivity, planning, and certainty can cause us to miss the most beautiful and formative parts of our lives. Lee reflects on what it means to know ourselves as deeply beloved by God, not because of what we produce but because love is the starting point of a life well lived. This conversation traces the threads of human flourishing and imagination, and asks why beauty—found in art, nature, poetry, and story—often teaches us more about God than arguments ever could. As he often does on his own No Small Endeavor podcast, Lee challenges us to consider what Christians are being called to wake up to in this season: a renewed attention to community, to creation, and to a church that is something we practice together, not merely something we attend. If you're longing for a faith that feels grounded, spacious, and alive—one that helps you live a good life in the world you actually inhabit—this episode is a gentle, necessary wake-up call. Thought-provoking Quotes: “What Christianity most needs right now is to rediscover the basics of the beautiful story which we claim to believe.” – Lee C. Camp The model of the cross means that if we take up our cross and follow Christ, that we can expect difficulty because so much of human history doesn't want that kind of way. Religious powers don't want that. Imperialist powers don't want that. And so we can trust that we're going to have our own kind of crosses to bear along the way. And yet that life has triumphed over death. That love has triumphed over hatred. that beauty and truth and goodness has triumphed over hostility and ugliness and meanness. And so that's the big story.” – Lee C. Camp I deeply understand why a lot of people just can't believe all this [religious] stuff. But for me, it, the story at its best. is so beautiful that I don't know why everybody doesn't want to believe it, even if they can't believe it. It's this place we embody this narrative, embody this beauty, embody this brokenness in which we try to find tangible ways to do life together.” – Lee C. In this powerful and deeply moving episode, I sit down with my friend Terry Weaver to unpack one of the most terrifying and transformative experiences of his life. Terry opens up about surviving severe sepsis, an illness that landed him in the ICU for 10 days and very nearly cost him his life. What started as pushing through an important event quickly turned into a medical emergency that forced Terry to confront his own mortality in a very real way. We walk through the moments leading up to his hospitalization, including the pressure of hosting an event while feeling unwell and the warning signs that were easy to dismiss at the time. Terry shares what it was like inside the hospital, how quickly sepsis can take hold, and the reality of being told just how serious his condition was. This conversation sheds light on how fragile life truly is and how quickly everything can change. Beyond the medical crisis, this episode dives deep into what happens after you survive something that big. Terry reflects on how his near-death experience reshaped his definition of success, ambition, and productivity. We talk about the emotional toll of recovery, managing anxiety and racing thoughts late at night, and learning how to close mental open loops that keep us stuck in stress and fear. One of the most powerful themes of this conversation is community. Terry shares how the support of friends, family, and people he didn't even realize were paying attention carried him through the darkest moments. We explore the importance of deep relationships, showing up for others, and why real legacy has far more to do with connection than accomplishment. We also talk about gratitude in a way that feels earned, not performative. Terry shares how finding humor in difficult situations, letting go of what no longer matters, and embracing a new sense of freedom changed how he lives his life today. This episode is a reminder that success without health, connection, and presence is empty, and that the real work is learning how to live fully while we still can. In this episode, you will learn: What sepsis is and why it can become life threatening so quickly The warning signs of serious illness that are easy to ignore until it's too late How a near-death experience can completely redefine success and ambition Why community and support matter more than accomplishments during crisis Practical ways to manage anxiety, nighttime worries, and mental open loops How to reframe negative thoughts during recovery and high stress seasons Why gratitude becomes deeper and more meaningful after loss or trauma How humor and perspective can help you navigate even the darkest moments What it really means to build a lasting legacy rooted in relationships How to live with more presence, intention, and appreciation for life

Then, Mike, Beau, and Ali spend some time with national NFL writer for The Athletic Mike Jones! Beau, Mike, Ali, and Mike discuss if Mike was shocked by any of the firings that have happened so far in the NFL, if Mike thinks Raheem Morris' refusal to make an in-season change at special teams coordinator and some of the on-field coaching issues were a big reason that Raheem got fired, which NFL head coaching job Mike thinks is the most appealing right now, which NFL head coaching candidate Mike thinks will be the hot name in this cycle and be able to have his pick at which job he wants to go to, what Mike knows about Chicago Bears assistant General Manager Ian Cunningham, who the Atlanta Falcons just reportedly requested to interview, if Mike thinks there are going to be anymore firings in the NFL, and how Mike feels about former Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan potentially getting a significant front office role with the Atlanta Falcons. The Morning Shift crew also continues to react to the reports that the Atlanta Falcons have requested interviews with Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver for their head coaching vacancy, and talk about how Falcons Owner Arthur Blank and the Falcons front office can't put playoff or bust expectations on new regime in year one because it's not good to be always firing coaches, and no one will want the Falcons head coach or general manager job if there are playoff or bust expectations in year one.

Many philosophers have contemplated the inevitability of death and taxes. But despite knowing both are coming, most people avoid planning for either until it's too late. What happens when you die without a proper estate plan? What's the difference between a will and a trust? And why does the government already have an estate plan for you—whether you like it or not? This episode tackles estate planning head-on. Hans walks through the foundational concepts from his CLU coursework while Brian shares the painful reality of navigating Pennsylvania's probate system after losing his mother. The contrast is striking: life insurance proceeds arrived within a week, tax-free and hassle-free. Everything else? A year-long nightmare involving shyster attorneys, arbitrary timelines, and a state government eager to collect its pound of flesh. The episode also addresses a critical oversight many families make: naming minor children as contingent beneficiaries on life insurance policies. Insurance companies cannot pay minors directly, which reintroduces the exact inefficiencies you were trying to avoid. One possible solution? Establish a trust and name it as your contingent beneficiary.Chapters:00:00 – Opening segment02:00 – Why estate planning matters for everyone03:30 – Brian's probate experience in Pennsylvania07:30 – The one-year waiting period and attorney fees11:45 – Life insurance: the easiest transfer by far15:00 – Definition of estate planning: accumulate, manage, conserve, transfer17:30 – Effective vs. efficient transfers explained19:45 – The three places your assets can go24:00 – Federal estate tax: 40% above the exemption29:00 – The five-year thought exercise37:00 – Minor children as beneficiaries: the hidden problem43:30 – What would change if you had five years left?54:00 – Heritage over inheritance: passing down more than money59:05 - Closing SegmentKey Takeaways:You Already Have an Estate Plan: If you haven't created one, the government has a default plan for you—and it prioritizes creditors and bureaucratic process over your family's needs.A Will Is Not Enough: Wills direct the probate court on asset distribution, but assets still go through a lengthy, costly, public legal process. Trusts bypass probate entirely.Life Insurance Skips the Mess: Death benefits transfer directly to beneficiaries, tax-free, within days—no court involvement, no waiting periods, no attorney fees.Don't Name Minors as Beneficiaries: Insurance companies cannot pay children directly. Name a trust as your contingent beneficiary to maintain efficiency and control. The Five-Year Exercise Changes Everything: If you knew your exact death date, your priorities would shift immediately. Use that clarity now—maximize protection, spend time with family, stop deferring what matters.Estate Planning Is for the Living: Half of estate planning—accumulation and management—happens while you're alive. In this final episode of 2025, Drew Brucker and Rory Flynn zoom out to dissect what actually mattered this year across Midjourney, Nano Banana Pro, ChatGPT Image 1.5, Weavy, video models, workflows, and the uncomfortable truth about how fast all of this is moving. They unpack the real inflection points no one labeled at the time. Why March quietly changed everything. Why Nano Banana Pro rewired image editing expectations. Why Veo 3 reset video. Why Midjourney still feels magicalWhy workflows (not models) are becoming the real creative advantage.Along the way, they spiral into mood boards, personalization hacks, node-based systems, AI video limitations, why Hollywood feels creatively bankrupt, how Grok quietly became a research weapon, and why Midjourney's next move might determine whether it stays an artist's playground or becomes a professional tool. It's opinionated. It's nerdy. It's honest. It's occasionally unhinged. And it's the clearest snapshot of where AI creativity actually stands heading into 2026.If you're trying to keep up, slow down, or figure out where to place your bets next year, this episode is your unfair advantage.---⏱️ Midjourney Fast Hour00:00 – Episode 60 kickoff and end-of-year reflections01:50 – From niche experiment to mainstream behavior04:00 – AI finally reaches non-technical families06:18 – Why working solo in AI can feel isolating09:03 – Music, creativity, and early signs of AI music adoption11:02 – How fast AI actually shipped in 202512:14 – 100+ major releases and why that number matters13:01 – The real start of image editing workflows14:46 – March 2025 was the quiet inflection point16:06 – Multi-modal chat changed prompting forever19:20 – Veo 3 and why video suddenly jumped ahead21:41 – Why Google quietly dominated 202523:00 – Why hype cycles now last 48 hours23:51 – Nano Banana Pro and precision image control26:02 – Grok as a real-time research engine27:49 – Why physics in AI video finally started working29:12 – Nodes, workflows, and why visualization matters30:26 – Why Nano Banana Pro felt like “AGI for images”31:26 – Will 2026 move even faster?32:25 – Release cadence, VC pressure, and reality checks34:03 – Images vs video: who's actually ahead36:18 – Why Grok might be the sleeper winner38:36 – Data, platforms, and why distribution matters41:28 – Consolidation and acquisitions are coming44:14 – What Midjourney must do next45:23 – Image editing as the make-or-break feature48:43 – Workflow fatigue and creative burnout52:50 – Personalization, mood boards, and creative joy56:44 – Why mood boards drove the best work of 202559:12 – Personalization profiles vs mood boards01:00:43 – Why Midjourney still feels different01:02:27 – Scale, permutations, and professional use cases01:06:36 – Resolution, editing, and real production constraints01:10:22 – Why small failures still matter01:13:00 – Hollywood, creativity, and AI backlash01:17:17 – Why creators beat platforms01:22:25 – Audio and voice as the next bottleneck01:23:55 – Constraint-driven prompting in 202601:30:14 – Looking back at January vs now01:38:23 – Final predictions and advice for 202601:42:34 – Season two wrap and sign-off
Part 4 shifts from merger talk into the part of grading nobody likes to say out loud. It starts with the “I've heard stories” framing, then draws a hard line between pre Nat Turner ownership and post Nat Turner, including the point that Collectors inherited liabilities and has paid out on mistakes from earlier eras. From there, the panel gets into why the hobby quietly benefits from inconsistency, even while asking for standardization. And then the episode drops the best real world illustration of the entire debate: a card that graded 5.5 on a Beckett raw card review, then later came back as a BGS 9.5. Same card, same grader ecosystem, wildly different outcome. Highlights in Part 4 include: The “I've heard stories” disclaimer and why some things get talked around, not stated Pre Turner vs post Turner: inherited liability, payouts, and where blame actually belongs The uncomfortable truth: if grading was consistent, resubmissions would collapse Is there a tipping point where collectors stop paying for the slab number and start paying for the card The “record sale” culture and why nobody flexes a record low Big money entering the hobby and the moment investors realize how the sausage is made The raw card review story: 5.5 to 9.5, and what that says about grading as a product The ethics question: if you sell a card that jumped grades, what do you owe the buyer Reholder without regrade: should a card be reassessed every time it passes through the facility Old standards vs new standards: should an older PSA 7 stay a 7 even if it would grade lower today The health inspector analogy that nails the point: same item, changed condition, unchanged label Buyer beware vs “protect the hobby”: how those two ideas collide in the content era The practical takeaway: advanced collectors hunt lower grades with stronger eye appeal, not the other way around Part 4 is basically the grading debate in its purest form: what people say they want, what they actually reward, and what happens when reality shows up. You Healed — But Forgot to Live: A New Year Wake-Up Call As the year comes to a close, many women find themselves more aware, more regulated, and more emotionally intelligent than ever — yet somehow less alive. If you've spent years healing, processing, understanding your patterns, and doing the inner work… but quietly feel like life has been on pause, this episode is your New Year wake-up call. In this New Year's Eve conversation, Aubrey explores the moment many women reach after deep healing: the realization that healing was never meant to be the destination — living was. This episode is a call out of over-processing and into embodiment. Out of safety mode and back into presence, joy, creativity, faith, and forward movement. With grounded nervous-system wisdom, astrological insight, and faith-rooted truth, Aubrey guides listeners through the shift from “working on yourself” to actually being in your life again. If you haven't yet listened to the previous episode, “You Don't Need to Finish the Year Strong — You Need to Finish It Honest,” Aubrey recommends starting there, then returning to this conversation as the next step forward. In this episode, we explore: How healing can quietly turn into a hiding place The difference between being safe and being truly alive Why many intuitive women feel stuck after doing “all the work” The New Year as a moment of re-entry, not reinvention Practical ways to reignite life in your home, relationships, faith, and business How astrology supports forward momentum and embodied choice right now Why you don't need to be fully ready to start living again This episode is for the woman who knows she's grown — but is ready to stop waiting and start participating in her life again.
Hour 1 of the show blends New Year's reflection with sharp political and cultural commentary. The crew opens by sharing personal highs and lows from 2025 and looking ahead to 2026 with a renewed focus on intentional living. They dive into Trump's freeze on Minnesota childcare payments amid widespread fraud and media silence, highlight Kim's “Top 10 Stories of 2025” — from the Pope's election to tariffs and Elon Musk's feuds — and close with a fiery segment on vaccine accountability and media fear tactics. It's an hour of honesty, humor, and unapologetic perspective to close out the year. #NewYearsEve #IntentionalLiving #TrumpAdministration #KimOnAWhim #MediaBias #HealthFreedom #MarkCoxMorningShow
