Let's read his own BIO : "I could start telling you who I am, what I have done, where I have played, whom I have produced with. But this time I just want to talk about music, of the genres that influenced me, what I listen to in my free time. And I want to talk about my job, the most beautiful one in the world! I like listening to everything and taking from everything many little pieces of sound to be remixed in the studio. Techno is my favourite genre, but I have always considered techno as a sort of magnet, ready to attract the most different musical contaminations, such as Kraftwerk, Jean Michael Jarre, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Giorgio Moroder, Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, Propellerheads, Bjork, Deep forest and many more. Many years have passed since I started deejaying but today I feel the same emotions each time I lay the needle on the vinyl or I press a key on the synthesizer. I think that this is the magic of music. I own a large collections of vinyl records, some of them almost worn out since I used them a lot of times during the shows in which I was one of the protagonists, events such as the Street Parade, Lake Parade, Aegyptus, Infinity, Dragons, Sonic, Goliath, Sonar and in European clubs such as Oxà, Rex, Locomotive, Macumba, Space, Alcatraz, Sustainable dance club, Cocoricò, Le Palaice, Bunker and others. I still prefer playing vinyl records, i like the pshysical contact with the object but above all the warmth of the analogical sound. I hope it will always be there, to give me emotions and satisfactions, unique as ever: music! " So do we. This DJmix by Flamen was recorded@Iboat, wonderful Club, build on a big renoved trawler, Moored in front of the Submarine base in Bordeaux City. Flamen has played first a DJset, like a warm-up but people who came was already very excited. It's the reason why this DJmix isn't very long but very Bouncy, between Deep and minimal techno music. The name of the Party was "Minimal Fanatics@Iboat" with DJ Linyo and Dreego, friends and active partisans of the minimal & hip-hop DJ music in Bordeaux. Then Flamen played live (soon available on his soundcloud) and the party finished with a crazy and eclectic DJset of Linyo, acclamed by the public. Enjoy this first part of Crazy Night. Enjoy our 3rd episode podcast (enjoy for free) by St Placid, one of the proud members of the Househusband Radio taskforce... A chill-out trip, ambient and groovy sometimes, dedicated to the birds, the 20th composers and electronic music anthems. The perfect way to have a rest just after the party, listening to : our mind, the nature, the silence... "When the Giraphone crew invited me for a podcast as an outside guest, I felt really honoured and excited at first, and then quite anxious about what to bring to their project and what to share with their audience. After some thinking, I finally chose to use the main idea of the Giraphone Records concept provided in the 'About' section of the site : "talking about Nature & Technology, in a dance-floor & ambient way…" First I thought about using Ableton Live to arrange a mix in a clean and seamless, elaborate way but quickly realised I was not really enjoying myself, due to a lack of natural feel. Instead, I decided to use a bottle of wine, a selection of nature-related records (some very obvious, some less obvious), a mixer with some effects and three SL-1200 TT's (one can always use an extra TT). As a result, some weird actions happened in the process and some transitions may not to be so accurate, but, then again, that makes sense with the theme, doesn't it ? One last detail : it has been recorded on march 23, a few days after the disaster in Japan. I had already selected the tracks a few weeks earlier, and some of them became scaringly meaningful from the post-earthquake/Fukushima perspective, in their way to express the great parodoxical forces of fears AND hopes that reside in our deepest relations to Nature. This is mainly dedicated to Doro, L., the Labyrinth people, Gaby (welcome to this world !) and to my bros at HouseHusbandRadio.com, my one and only Home !
