The fall of the web was not as easy as it seemed. Even the planning stages were tense and filled with doubt. Frustration was in the eyes of some members as they had truly had their fill of this god-forsaken city. Things went according to plan as they could until they didn't. Bringing back Duo and the stone was not the hard part. It was having him hand over the stone that seemed the most troublesome. He even threatened to leave the group if they planned on taking it away from him. Thankfully with the combined efforts of the team, they successfully killed the Web, retrieved the stone, and freed the city of Invenas. All in a days work for our heroes, right? Enter a man lost out of time. Once a statue, a man by the name of Hoshino, a victim of the Web, has now joined the group. We find ourselves saying goodbye to Voyas and meet a distant cousin of Rig. Eventually, they made it back to The Heartwood and Amina. They give her the stone and she assures the group that Nymora is indeed safe. They return back to Nymora and it is as if the siege of Nymora had never taken place. We return to Bosco, Thai, and Morz in the midst of their gem heist. There the three of them encounter a gem dragon who does a significant amount of damage to the group. There's a plead for their lives and a fragile truce is forged. Morz will stay behind and the two rogues will travel with the dragon that they name Sage. Together they aim to put a stop to Olmaz and his Infinity Bazaar. On their way to Mechfall Bosco and Thai exchange details of their past, and Thai tells Bosco of the party he briefly ran with which led him back to the bazaar. Eventually, they arrive at “The Twisted Antler”, a speakeasy where your coin is of no value, but the real currency is information. They meet with some old associates and allies. With their help, they set forth a plan to take down Olmaz, but first, they have to stop their pursuer. The three set a trap that is successful though things don't always go to plan. In a fit of rage, Bosco removes his amulet, alerting The Ringleader that he is in fact alive. There's so much happening and we pick up with arc 16, “Return On Investment ”. How will the rest of this story unfold? Find out next time on the Medusa's Cascade: Collateral Damage!

Stunde 2 präsentiert dann u.a. Musik von Robag Wruhme, Actress, Jean-Michel Jarre & Brian Eno/Nina Kraviz, Moderat, Isan, Roedelius & Kasar und Kreidler.

Steve Ewing came onto the podcast and we still can't quite believe it. A St. Louis gem and just an all around cool guy. Enjoy the interview with Steve, Logan, The Giggler and Scotty Scoop. Steve's a rock star. He is the singer and performer in bands such as Master Blaster (A Stevie Wonder tribute band), Steve Ewing Band & Duo, and of, course, since the 1980s has been jamming out with a not so little band called The Urge (some famous tracks, “All Washed Up”, “Brainless”, “It's Gettin' Hectic”, “Straight to Hell”, “Four Letters and Two Words”, “Too Much Stereo”, and in the top ten “Jump Right In” featuring Nick Hexum of 311 fame.) Paradise Garden. 343 Seiten. Diogenes, 2023. Tonight we have two amazing guests for you. Mark Hemmings and his daughter Aren, these two were recently part of the 24-hour run at Loonie Loops in late August. We met on the trial several times that day and chatted with each other. I was very surprised to find out this was a father and daughter-running duo. I was instantly impressed and thought that we had to get Mark and Aren on our show and here they are. Both signed up for the 24-hour run and as some of you know the conditions were not the best. That didn't deter either of them, they just kept at it. Listen to Aren talk about how this was her first podium finish and took first place. Great job Aren and an amazing story. Mark had an amazing day himself finishing with 26 laps for the run and his fastest lap was his final lap, amazing. Father and daughter were very determined and wouldn't stop in some of the worst conditions. What I like about this interview is the fact that both Aren and Mark loved their time on the trail at Loonie Loops and they can't wait to try again next year. Can't wait to see what next year brings. Follow Mark on Strava, he runs in so many interesting places:https://www.strava.com/athletes/32318210?fbclid=IwAR1nwPWC8MAx_E8aFSRfLx2lm5t0lHmCUT4MiPQgsT4xdawngC8e-_7kTgcYou can and should follow Mark on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/markhemmings/?fbclid=IwAR1qOD2I0GwOqTDIcccx6_HFXfvLSJf-Dhhln8z3tPAS3gDAzPk_Anl5OrYFollow Aren on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/arensophia/?fbclid=IwAR28j5OCseYRclfUP5G3vF4csiZnRfmrpI5tqSI-RFC2KpNwJttYULLMzbcMotivate to Move email, let us know who should be on our show:motivatetomove.podcast@gmail.comOur Facebook page, check us out:https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100041607699495As always, give the gift of life and donate blood today.

Instead of our regular “Couple of the Quarter” episode, we are bringing to you a “Duo of the Quarter.” On Sat, Oct 21 at 7am local time, the individual world championships of backyard ultra running commenced in Bell Buckle, Tennessee. The format sees racers run a 4.17-mile loop, called a “yard” in backyard ultrarunning, within a one-hour time limit, after which all finishers within the allotted time are tied for first place, and must present on the start line on the hour to go again. This continues until there is only one runner left standing, who must complete a solo yard to be awarded the win. After completing 107 yards & hours and covering 446 miles/718km, Ukrainian-Canadian and past guest Ihor Verys was the last person to DNF, assisting Harvey Lewis to a world record win. Racers were allowed only one person to crew and support them for the duration of the race, and he entrusted 52 year old friend and fellow ultrarunner Marina Striker with that task. To say she delivered is an understatement, and during this conversation you will hear how instrumental Marina's experience and support was in Ihor's success. You will also be treated with a few stories of things Ihor does not remember during the 5 days of running and you will get a glimpse into the militaristic discipline and mindset required by both crew and runner to keep moving for 107 hours straight. Dubbed “The Dream Team” on social media, these two athletes reveal what an unlimited mindset and unwavering belief can achieve.Connect with Ihor & Marina:Ihor's Instagram: @ihorverysMarina's Instagram: @marinas_trailrunning_questsConnect with Carolyn & Kim:Email us with guest ideas: inspiredsolescast@gmail.comInspired Soles InstagramKim's InstagramKim's FacebookCarolyn's InstagramCarolyn's FacebookCarolyn's websiteWe love hearing from you! Guest: Luis von Ahn, CEO and co-founder of DuolingoWhen Luis von Ahn wanted to go to college in the United States, he had to take a standardized test called the TOEFL, or Test of English as a Foreign Language. But there was nowhere in his home country of Guatemala that could accommodate another test-taker, so he flew to war-torn El Salvador, just to take the TOEFL. Many years later, as the co-founder and CEO of Duolingo, Luis and his team “decided this type of thing, we could do a lot better.” Today, more than 4,500 universities accept the results of the online Duolingo English Test — a boon for the estimated 2 billion people currently learning English around the world. In this episode, Luis and Joubin discuss returning to the office, Carnegie Mellon, identifying strivers, the “Luis dashboard,” ignoring Reddit, pre-meetings, the hardest part of learning, sounding dumb, private security, the job of a professor, digitizing books, working out every day, April Fools' campaigns, Duo the owl, and hiring nice people. In this episode, we cover: Working in Pittsburgh, in-person (00:57) How Duolingo hires (06:48) Growing up in Guatemala (10:29) Luis' parents, intelligence, and drive (12:09) His morning routine (16:56) Ground truth (19:39) “The smaller the team, the better” (22:29) Language education and human behavior (24:32) Learning English (28:53) Back to Guatemala (32:03) CAPTCHA and reCAPTCHA (36:10) Money vs. impact (41:26) Luis' TEDx Talk and public speaking tips (44:46) Love Language and nontraditional marketing (48:46) Doubling down on what works (53:27) Slow hiring (56:44) Would Luis ever start something new? In the spectrum of popular music in Canada, which is as wide as the country, Tom Cochrane falls somewhere between an electrified Gordon Lightfoot and a solo Gordon Downie. Between the universal prose of Leonard Cohen and the blood passion of Tom Wilson. Three times we went to the war-torn fields and roads of Africa for World Vision and became lifelong friends. That's what seeing men, women and children dead or dying will do to you. You seek humanity. Tom's got humanity in spades. He came back from the first trip under a heavy dark load and sought out the only thing that he knew would lift him up. Music. He wrote a song called Life is a Highway. It became an anthem for millions. All lifted up by his music. Tom Cochrane is heading back West now. The tour is called Duo. Friday night in Medicine Hat, Saturday night in Edmonton (Expo Centre) Then to the coast and a complete tour of Vancouver Island. Wednesday Victoria Thursday Courtney Friday Nanaimo Sunday Campbell River Monday, Nov 20 – Duncan (in the Cowichan) www.tomcochrane.com

This week we welcome The Kendalls! Formed in 1969, The Kendalls recorded an album for Stop Records, from which a single was released in 1970: a cover of John Denver's "Leaving on a Jet Plane" (previously a hit for Peter, Paul & Mary). The Kendalls version narrowly missed the top fifty on the U.S. country charts. The duo signed with Dot Records in 1972, and released an album and two singles, "Two Divided By Love", (a cover version of The Grass Roots' pop hit) and "Everything I Own" a cover of Bread's 1972 hit. Eventually, the Kendalls parted with their record label, before signing with the independent Ovation Label in 1977. Their first single for the label, a cover of Kitty Wells hit "Making Believe", made the lower regions of the charts (Emmylou Harris' version of "Making Believe" hit the U.S. Country Charts around the same time). It was the Kendall's 2nd single on Ovation, a "cheating" song called "Heaven's Just a Sin Away", that proved to be their breakthrough. The song topped the country charts and was also a minor crossover pop hit, and won the 1978 Grammy for Best Country Vocal by a Duo or Group. In 1981, after Ovation Records closed, the duo signed with Mercury Records and continued to have hits with "Teach Me To Cheat" and "If You're Waitin' On Me (You're Backin' Up), which both made the country top 10. More hits followed with "Movin' Train" and "Precious Love," which made the top 20. Their last #1 was 1984's "Thank God For the Radio". The Kendalls had many more Top 20 hits in the 80's and early 90's. The also had a supper club in Gulf Shores, Alabama and a theater in Branson, MO.

Featured Musician: May Erlewine The Video: [After THE JUMP: The things said.] --------------------- 1. Sign Stealing Scandal-Like Substance starts at the top It's funny but also not funny anymore that they keep empowering this asshat to go on a personal vendetta. 2. MSU Preview starts at 22:38 Not good. RB Nate Carter can run but Katin Houser is Noah Kim with more forgiving cornerbacks. 2. MSU Preview starts at 38:39 DT Simeon Barrow is the guy to watch on defense but most of them are just so mid. 4. Indiana After Review starts at 53:35 More of the same. JJ and Graham are All-Americans. Offense is bringing out interesting counters to Duo as they develop that game instead of zone stretch. Defense's thing this week was snags. The TD was a situational awareness issue. Colson talk? No. Barrett talk: yes. About the Featured Musician: MAY ERLEWINE This year we are partnering with The Blind Pig for bumper music, since that's where I've seen most of the bands I've been pushing anyways. This is the week we're featuring May Erlewine, who's got a show coming up at the Ten Pound Fiddle Coffee House on Friday, Nov. 3rd at Michigan State University in East Lansing. She's one of the most prolific singer-songwriters of the Midwest and has grouped with countless musicians around here. She's explored a lot of different sounds but she's at her best when just sitting on a chair with a guitar. Her voice on stage encourages connectedness and stresses the importance of environmental advocacy, social justice, creative empowerment and community building as necessary work for all of us. Song choices: Anyway Never One Thing Like Moses (Malone) Also because Across 110th Street will get our Youtubes taken now now, the opener and outro: “The Employee is Not Afraid”—Bear vs. Shark “Ruska Vodka”—Motorboat
Things Discussed: Reasons to respect MSU? Katin Houser vs Noah Kim: When Houser throws back-breaking interceptions Rutgers decides to drop them. IU after review: Michigan's running tweaks to their Duo game that makes it really hard to prepare for. McCarthy is readying defenses very very well. Penn State-Ohio State: rock fight.

The Duo spend the whole episode arguing why, even if you ordered butter pecan ice cream and got mint chocolate chip instead, you should probably just take a second to realize all ice cream is good and you should shut up about the butter pecan.

Things Discussed: Offense vs Rutgers: Double SZ returns, that's going to work well with Arc. Zone reads add an outside threat to Duo. Defense vs Rutgers: Missed Mason Graham: his absence nerfs Grant; Goode and Benny are decent players but opposites and can't play together. Rutgers thought they could Iso Barrett and he was was awesome. Harrell's been awesome, Stewart has to stop giving up edges. What's so sad about that Rutgers TD is McGregor was dropping back into that slant. Nebraska's defense: After seeing Colorado's OL it's an ain't played nobody situation. Colorado had answers for all the things Nebraska was doing. Michigan is going to have to gameplan for them though because they like to play Rock, Paper, Scissors. Loveland is the difference in this game: they have nobody who can match up with him. Is Nebraska's defense like TCU? Different: Nebraska's LBs are fast and small; TCU's LBs were slow but thicc. They're very "Don Brown" in that they have runts who are going to be flying to the ball. You've made it when you've got a haterz name. Nobody ever wrote "$eth" before. One bad half. Marcus Freeman: why are you insane? Penn State vs Ohio State: Craig thinks it's an OSU blowout. Seth thinks PSU has a QB who's making up for their OL issues and they've got the DBs to hang. Iowa: Poor Cade, at Michigan he was sitting on his ass behind one guy he hates, now he's sitting on his ass behind five of them.
