A podcast about the art of seeing things beyond the superficial.
Whenever we encounter a lot of Lasts in life, they will always be followed by a lot of Firsts. Life is an ever ongoing journey. Once you think you’ve arrived, you recognize another destination to move towards. Every beginning is the end of some other beginning. For more info and the script:https://per-seuring.de/a-lot-of-lasts/Music:"Almost in F - Tranquility" by Kevin MacLeodSupport the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/W7cT4P1)
Stories change us and ground us at the same time. They carry messages, perspectives, morals, knowledge, and wisdom. And besides all of that, they make you feel a certain way. Follow along in this episode where I talk about the value of stories. How they aren’t just defined by their distractive and oversimplifying nature but in the fact can remind us of the things we so often forget in the fog of everyday life. A while ago, on the 31st of July, I took upon the quest of walking from Frankfurt to a town called Seligenstadt, along the river Main, which totals at around 40 km. Follow along in this episode of what my motivations behind doing such an unusual thing were and what we all can learn from it on a meta-level. The trend for so-called 'self-help products', with books, podcasts, and so on, has grown rapidly in recent years and is said to continue to do so. But is this actually a positive development? How can it be called ’self-help’ when really the help is mainly external? Join me in the observation of these questions. In recent years, I started to notice a lot of my peers having existential crises and anxiety about their future. A lot of the symptoms seem to overlap with the well-known phenomenon of the Midlife Crisis. Follow along as I look at today’s society and Carl Jung’s concept of Individuation, to ask the question of whether young adulthood is the midlife. A good or perfect day can be characterized by the fact that I have done enough work. So I make a to-do list every day and the more things or I work through all the things that I have planned to do, then it was pretty cool. Then there is a second form. There are days that are perfect because I spend them with the right people and I can tell that by the fact that I come home and I'm totally happy because I just laughed the whole day.DavidSleep in, not too long. A great breakfast. A little socializing. Doesn't have to be forever, it can be just an hour or so to meet a mate. Exchange ideas. And then in the evening either watch a film or make music. Oh, and the best part of my perfect day is not having anything planned. So when there are no appointments, but you can practically plan and determine your day from the beginning.FloSomehow I found it incredibly difficult to put it into words when you think so seriously about what makes such a perfect day for you. Or to somehow define for yourself what the perfect day for you should be. But I found it quite interesting to deal with it, because I think it reflects the problem of what our society or our generation has. It's the diversity of options, that you can do so much and want to accommodate so much, because you have such a choice and then you don't get to the point and you just can't really decide what you're going to bring in. Is that what you're doing that day, or could something better come up that you haven’t considered?LivThe perfect day for me actually starts with having a holiday or a day off. Definitely not having an appointment to tell you when to get up. Actually, the perfect day is to spend it only with the people you like and with whom you also know that it will be a good day and from whom you also take something with you and with whom you just have a good time.MarcIt is important to find the balance between these topics: Time for yourself, time for friends, time for your girlfriend, time for sports and time for knowledge. These are, I think, the most important factors for me that make a perfect day.Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/W7cT4P1)
