Read the deeper writing on Substack → spiritualised.substack.comHow does individuation — the descent, the dark night, the alchemical marriage — actually build you $30 million? That's the question underneath this episode. Because the inner work and the wealth are not two separate things. When the inner masculine activates, he looks across the arc of time. He plans. He compounds. And the inner feminine, who lives only in the now, in the pleasure of this moment, is finally allowed to rest — not a Sunday rest or an evening off, but a deep, cellular rest, because she's no longer carrying everything alone.I bring the alchemical marriage out of the abstract and into something practical, because so much of this work gets taught beautifully and spiritually with no application to the life you're actually living. We move through the descent into the spiritual underworld, the dark night of the soul that comes in layers, and the epiphanies that arrive there — what I've come to think of as a transportation system of light, delivering healing into the fractures of the heart. Then we follow the ascent back to the surface, where sovereignty is built and the inner masculine takes up his role: looking after your 70, 80, 90, 100-year-old self, your children, your grandchildren.I share why Maslow's hierarchy can collapse when it's been built on the wrong foundation, and what the rebuild from non-attachment actually looks like. I bring in the story of the Widow's Olive Oil from the Bible — a teaching on the vessel, and why so many spiritual women are earning through leaky energy, paid only when they show up, with nothing holding the wealth when they don't. We look at what a vessel is in the modern world: recurring income that flows into investments, work that eventually carries itself, and a real legacy for the generations after you. Then we get into the figures — a membership at $150 a month with 333 members, what happens when a portion is invested across 10, 20, 30 and 40 years even when you stop investing entirely at year ten, and a second model where eight women at $5,555 a month compound toward tens of millions by year forty. This is the alchemical marriage made practical: the inner masculine planning across the arc of time, building something strong enough that the feminine can finally exhale.Listen, take what resonates, and come find more inside Spiritualised at spiritualised.substack.comwww.goinward.co.ukwww.instagram.com/goinwardTopics: individuation, alchemical marriage, inner masculine, inner feminine, divine union, dark night of the soul, shadow work, Jungian individuation, spiritual awakening, sovereignty, money and spirituality, wealth for spiritual women, recurring income, compounding, legacy, financial freedom.
If we put aside concepts, we really don't know what a tree is. It's a mystery of creation. The tree of life is a universal archetypal symbol. African, Celtic, Norse, and Cabala trees of life are discussed. Trees are a portal into appreciation of life and nature. Walking in a forest, we can feel sacred space. The decimation of trees and forests is also heartbreaking. It's important to connect to and respect all beings, including trees. The three parts of a tree—roots, trunk and branches, and crown—are considered metaphorically. Our roots, including belief systems we've inherited, are useful to revisit. Gender, cultural, historical, and familial roots sometimes need pruning. Trees have interconnected root systems and are not separate from other trees. We grow together and absorb from others. The heartwood near the center of the trunk is analogous to the stored wisdom we gather through experience. The lifeblood of the tree moves to and from the leaves. Every tree has a pattern which can be seen in its rings. We all have patterning and go through cycles as trees do. Being aware of our patterns opens us to the call of our heart. Individuation, a term used by Jung, is an ordeal of growth. There is stability in the trunk and effortless expansiveness in the branches. The crown produces shade, berries, seeds, and fruits which are shared. We can honor our outpouring and what we affect in the world. Seeds contain a legacy, the thing that comes next. The fruit of life is about realizing our immortality. The seed is perfect, despite a tree's twistedness due to environmental conditions. Creativity is a way to take refuge in our being. The practice of praise counterbalances hatred and polarization. Mary Angelon Young is an author and workshop leader with a background in Jungian psychology. Autism comes from the word self—but what does that actually mean?In this episode, we explore the concept of the Self through the work of Carl Jung and examine the tension between who we are and who the world expects us to be.This isn't about diagnosing autism through Jung. It's about understanding a deeper question:What happens when someone remains more connected to their internal structure in a world that prioritizes conformity? In Part 1 of this series, we begin with the Self.Drawing from Jung's work, this episode explores:the difference between the persona (the social role) and the Self (the deeper organizing structure of the psyche)how identity is shaped through social expectationswhat happens when that shaping process doesn't occur in the same wayJung believed that the goal of life is individuation—becoming who you actually are. But that process often requires moving away from the roles and expectations imposed by the external world. For some individuals, that tension is subtle. For others, it is constant. This episode does not argue that Jung explained autism. Instead, it uses his framework to explore a key idea:What happens when the pull toward the internal self is stronger than the pull toward the social world? We examine:why the persona can create distance from the selfhow internal consistency can take priority over social alignmentwhy staying connected to the self can come with both cost and clarityThis is the foundation for everything that follows. The self is not something you build—it's something you either stay connected to, or slowly lose.MAYU Water, use "autism" for 10% off at https://mayuwater.comDaylight Computer Company, use "autism" for $50 off at https://buy.daylightcomputer.com/autismand Daylight Kids (!!!) https://kids.daylightcomputer.com/autism Chroma Light Devices, use "autism" for 10% discount at https://getchroma.co/?ref=autism00:00 – MAYU Water01:12 – Daylight Computer Company & Daylight Kids02:19 – Chroma Light Devices 03:28 – Autism = “self”; the paradox of being told to move away from who you are04:50 – Jung's persona; the mask, compromise, & the cost of fitting in07:03 – When the persona doesn't form the same way; internal structure vs social shaping09:02 – Ego vs Self; different centers of identity & why conflict is inevitable12:00 – Intuition & pattern recognition; deeper processing, not faster thinking15:00 – Archetypes & visual thinking; structure before language; precision vs social speed17:30 – Shadow; what gets rejected, suppressed, & turned into internal conflict20:10 – Individuation; staying aligned with the self in a world built for personas22:30 – Protecting the self; friction, innovation, & navigating a misaligned world24:00 – Final reflection; returning to your center vs becoming someone elseX: https://x.com/rps47586YT: https://www.youtube.com/@FromTheSpectrumemail: info.fromthespectrum@gmail.com

That pain can feel overwhelming; like it says something about your worth, your value, or whether you ever truly mattered. But what if that fear isn't about them at all? Episode Summary In this episode, Thais Gibson explains why the fear of being replaced can feel so intense, especially for those with an Anxious Attachment Style. You'll learn how this fear is often rooted in early conditioning, where love, approval, and safety became intertwined and how breakups can trigger deeper beliefs about worthiness and being “not enough.” Thais also breaks down why rejection feels so personal, how subconscious self-perception shapes emotional pain, and how the process of individuation helps you rebuild a strong sense of self that is no longer dependent on being chosen. Key Takeaways ✔️ Fear of being replaced is often tied to self-worth wounds ✔️ Anxious Attachment can interpret breakups as proof of not being enough ✔️ Rejection feels painful when it reflects existing self-beliefs ✔️ Early conditioning links love, approval, and survival ✔️ Outsourcing your worth creates emotional dependency ✔️ Individuation builds a strong, self-defined identity ✔️ Healing reduces fear of rejection and replacement Timestamps 00:00 – The Fear of Being Replaced 01:41 – It's Not Just The Absence Of The Person 03:47 – Why Rejection Is So Painful 05:47 – 7-Day Free Trial Promo 06:35 – The Fear Of Being Replaceable Rarely Starts In Adulthood 09:03 – Individuation 11:49 – Practice Individuation in the 7 Areas of Life 13:06 – Learn More With the Personal Development School Meet the Host Thais Gibson is the founder of The Personal Development School and a world leader in attachment theory. Text me your thoughts about this epidode ...In this follow up episode, I continue my conversation with Pratyush Bhattacharya (https://www.instagram.com/decodingzodiac author of Decoding Zodiac with Vedic Astrology Volume II: Graha Rasi House Interactions). This time we turn our attention to the 6th–12th house axis as Persona and Shadow, drawing on Jungian individuation and metaphors of decluttering, digestion and shedding skin. We explore how the 12th house stores unresolved habits, grief, and old narratives and how ignoring it leads to reactivity, manipulation, boredom‑avoidance and living from a past version of ourselves. The 6th house, by contrast, can drive a relentless performance and proving worth - the Persona we use to mask our Shadow.Pratyush shares practical 12th‑house remedies such as cleaning digital clutter, writing an epoch‑based autobiography, inserting 30‑second pauses before habits or eating and even scheduling time for boredom. We also look at a Libra Ascendant case study (12th Virgo / 6th Pisces) to explore how Piscean skills of tolerance and inclusion might become performed usefulness due to wanting to repress the meticulous planning and boundary setting skills of Virgo. We also discuss how magnetic attraction in relationships can reflect unmet 12th‑house needs and opens the risks of trauma‑bonded relationships. If you're studying Vedic astrology, Jungian psychology, or the deeper meaning of the 6th–12th house axis, this conversation offers a grounded, and practical guide to understanding Persona, Shadow, and the spiritual protocol hidden in your ascendant and 12th‑House sign.Watch this episode with subtitles at https://youtu.be/G5Js79r3meoCheck out my new Podcast at TheAdityasPodcast — fionamarques.com - https://www.fionamarques.com/theadityaspodcastYou can get Pratyush Bhatacharya's books at ...Decoding Zodiac vol II (paperback): https://www.lulu.com/shop/pratyush-bhattacharya/decoding-zodiac-with-vedic-astrology-vol-ii/paperback/product-95jjvw7.html?q=decoding+zodiac&page=1&pageSize=4Decoding Zodiac vol II (ebook):https://www.lulu.com/shop/pratyush-bhattacharya/decoding-zodiac-with-vedic-astrology-vol-ii/ebook/product-v8wrzwe.html?q=decoding+zodiac&page=1&pageSize=4Decoding Zodiac vol I (paperback):https://www.lulu.com/shop/pratyush-bhattacharya-and-pratyush-bhattacharya-and-arijit-gupta-and-ernst-wilhelm/decoding-zodiac-with-vedic-astrology/paperback/product-8gdgvj.html?q=decoding+zodiac&page=1&pageSize=4Decoding Zodiac vol I (ebook): https://www.lulu.com/shop/pratyush-bhattacharya-and-swarup-ranjan-paul-and-samriddhi-mitra-and-arijit-gupta/decoding-zodiac-with-vedic-astrology/ebook/product-j4kgwz.html?q=decoding+zodiac&page=1&pageSize=4Support the show

One of my favorite repeat guests is back: I’m talking to psychotherapist Satya Doyle Byock about the duality of individuation and community. We get into the difference between individuation and individualism, and why it’s critical for all of us to individuate—to go on our own journeys—so that we can genuinely be a part of the collective, and not just subject to herd mentality. We also chat about our search for meaning, and why Satya encourages people to trust an irrational guide. And we talk about getting in touch with our daemons—which you can think of as your inner genius, a spark that wants to come through you.
I decided to start a short series: The Individuation Series, to help us as we move into the Aquarian Age, which is all about becoming an individual. In this episode I talk about what the shift from the Piscean era to the Aquarian age means, and how what you do needs to be most important to you first, and not about what others think. For support in this process, and to learn about yourself through the Astrology, and Life Coaching you can reach out here. Episode 167In this episode, I'm exploring deconstruction through the lens of differentiation and individuation—two psychological concepts that have profoundly shaped my faith journey. For years, I related to Catholicism the way I related to my family of origin—with enmeshment, not healthy boundaries. I believed that closeness meant having no division, that love meant disappearing into the other. I carried this into my relationship with God, believing I had to disappear into Him rather than becoming fully myself. In this episode, I talk about:What differentiation and individuation mean in the context of faithHow enmeshment in family systems mirrors enmeshment with the ChurchWhy questioning and discernment are essential to mature faithThe difference between mystical oneness and emotionally healthy individuationLearning to trust my own desires instead of fearing themHow healing from trauma is itself an act of differentiationWatch this recording on YouTube.RESOURCEJames Finley, The Healing Path: A Memoir and an InvitationCHAPTER MARKERS0:00 Why do some lose faith in God and some do not?1:32 The Commenter's Argument3:31 Deconstruction Beyond Intellect8:13 James Finley's Story14:01 Spiritual But Not Religious17:42 When Personal Encounters Make God Real Beyond Doubt21:32 Conflicting Imprints of God in the Nervous System25:49 When Faith Depends on Constructs41:30 Beyond the Visible Church42:30 The Apophatic TraditionSupport the showSUBSCRIBE | FOLLOW | SUPPORTSocial Media:Follow Ann Yeong on Instagram or Facebook.Newsletter:Subscribe to Begin Again for Ann's updates and reflections.Support the Show:Monthly Support (starting at USD$3)One-time DonationLeave a Review:If this podcast has blessed you, please leave a review by clicking here.

Body as Shadow: Jung's Method of Embodied Healing is Jungian analyst Erica Lorentz's passionate, clinically grounded argument that Jung's psychology was never meant to be “head-only.” It was always an embodied practice, one that asks us to meet psyche where it actually lives: in sensation, emotion, energy, imagination, and what Jung called the somatic unconscious or subtle body. At the heart of the book is Lorentz's central method: embodied active imagination, a way of working in which inward attention to a symptom, sensation, or emotion becomes a portal into imaginal material and archetypal depths, without forcing interpretation or prematurely translating experience into words. This approach is shaped by her long apprenticeship in Authentic Movement (also known as Movement as Active Imagination), where the psyche is allowed to emerge through the body in a protected relational container and a non-directive witnessing stance. Lorentz argues that many modern approaches to trauma and psychotherapy remain constrained by a left-brain bias: we attempt to heal through insight, narrative, and cognitive explanation, while the original wound and the original healing energy often sits below language. Drawing on Jung's own words from the Zarathustra Seminar, she emphasizes the mysterious interlocking place where body and psyche become indistinguishable: where we cannot know if we are in matter or in psyche, because we are in both. Throughout the book, Lorentz bridges what is too often split in Jungian circles: developmental work and archetypal work. She insists that when we work with complexes, we must come to terms not only with childhood roots, but with the archetypal core “on its own ground”, because the archetype is not a metaphor; it is a force, and one we encounter in a bodily way. Erica Lorentz, M.Ed., L.P.C., is a Jungian analyst (IAAP) and training analyst at the C. G. Jung Institute of New England. With early roots in dance and decades of experience in Authentic Movement (Movement as Active Imagination), she integrates depth psychology with embodied and imaginal approaches to healing. Trained in object relations and shaped by clinical work with autistic and psychotic youth, she has taught and lectured widely on Jung, the body, and embodied active imagination across the US, Canada, the UK, and internationally, including teaching in India in 2024. In this episode, Colter, Lauren, and Cayla unpack the second pillar of a secure relationship: individuation—the idea that what it's like to be me is different than what it's like to be you. They explore how differences in processing, upbringing, values, and sensory experiences can turn from “cute quirks” into major points of conflict when partners feel right/wrong instead of just different. You'll hear real-life examples, role plays, and practical questions you can take back to your own relationship to build more curiosity, compassion, and realistic expectations of each other. In this deeply feminine, non-linear episode, Jess Fenton shares a personal update from her spiritual journey, weaving together biblical symbolism, Jungian individuation, alchemical stages of consciousness, dream symbolism, and the energetic architecture of vision. This episode explores why miracles require structure, why true creation happens in privacy, and how closing the door protects faith, momentum, and manifestation. Robert is a true polymath — mathematician, inventor, artist, and explorer of ancient technologies — whose work bridges geometry, music, consciousness, and the mystery traditions. In this conversation, he reveals how pyramids function as mirrors of human awareness, why math may be the original language of God, and how sacred structures were designed to activate future timelines. This isn't about believing anything new. It's about remembering what you already know. If you've ever felt activated by sacred sites, fascinated by ancient civilizations, or curious about how consciousness actually shapes reality — this episode will land like a remembering. In this episode, we explore: • Why pyramids are mirrors of consciousness, not monuments • How math, music, and geometry encode spiritual intelligence • The role of individuation in divine awareness • How collective coherence creates “Mandela cascades” • Why ancient civilizations were far more advanced than we've been taught • How sacred sites communicate across timelines • What it means to bring heaven to earth — literally Key Moments: 00:00:01 — The pyramid as a mirror of consciousness 00:01:06 — Individuation as the universe's greatest value 00:02:21 — Why sacred sites activate you personally 00:03:36 — Can consciousness build structures through intention? 00:07:20 — Math as the language of God 00:11:08 — The musical notes hidden in pyramid geometry 00:12:53 — How Robert identified two previously unknown pyramids near Giza 00:15:04 — The 15th-century maps that revealed structures hiding in plain sight 00:26:02 — Collective coherence & shifting timelines 00:49:14 — Sacred sites as accelerators of remembrance About Robert Edward Grant Robert Edward Grant is a polymath, mathematician, artist, inventor, and consciousness researcher known for discovering new chambers in the Great Pyramid and identifying previously unknown pyramids on the Giza Plateau. Individuation isn’t about becoming better. It’s about becoming whole. At 75, neurologist Oliver Sacks finally integrated the parts of himself he’d kept hidden—his sexuality, his need for love, his domestic life (who knew he kept a library of Jung's work). Bill Hayes talks intimately about Sacks’s late-life transformation which exemplifies Jung’s crucial insight: growth isn’t about fixing what’s broken. It’s about integrating what you’ve exiled. The recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship in nonfiction, Bill Hayes is a frequent contributor to the New York Times and the author of seven books, including Sleep Demons; Five Quarts; The Anatomist; Insomniac City; and How We Live Now: Scenes from the Pandemic. His writing has also appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Review of Books, the New York Times “T” Style Magazine, BuzzFeed, and The Guardian. His most recent book, SWEAT: A History of Exercise, a narrative nonfiction look at exercise from antiquity to the present, is available now wherever books are sold. Hayes is also a photographer, with credits including The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, and the New York Times. His portraits of his partner, the late Oliver Sacks, appear in the volume of Dr. Sacks's suite of final essays Gratitude. A collection of his street photography, How New York Breaks Your Heart, was published in 2018 by Bloomsbury. His photographs are available for sale as limited edition prints exclusively by CLAMP art gallery in New York City. Books by Bill Hayes: Patricia Martin, MFA, is the host of Jung in the World. A noted cultural analyst, she applies Jungian theory to her work as a researcher and writer. Author of three books, her work has been featured in the New York Times, Harvard Business Review, Huffington Post, and USA Today. She holds an MFA in writing and literature from Bennington College and an MA in cultural studies at the University College, Dublin (honors). In 2018, she completed the Jungian Studies Program at the C. G. Jung Institute Chicago where she is a professional affiliate. A scholar in residence at the Chicago Public Library, for the last decade she's been studying the digital culture and its impact on the individuation process. Send us a textWhat if the lifelong hunt for meaning is just a game of hide and seek—where you're both the hider and the one who finds? We dive into a radical yet simple shift: end the chase, sit for five minutes as Christ, and remember the changeless awareness that's been here all along. From that place, the ego's urgency softens, and the world stops feeling like a problem to escape. We walk through a grounded practice for joining your humanity and divinity without bypassing life's messiness. Fog on your skin, a tense commute, or a hard conversation can become sacraments when you choose presence over panic. We explore how feeling your feelings—fully and without drama—ends the reflex to numb, control, or fix. Blessing the news becomes training for nervous system steadiness and compassion, giving you the freedom to act wisely without being captured by fear. The thread running through it all is audacious: there is only God. If that's true, what is left to fear? This conversation opens a door to oneness that's practical, not precious. Forgiveness becomes workable when the “other” is recognized as your own Self in another form. Your life—work, family, health—becomes an intentional curriculum, not a punishment. Waking up doesn't erase challenges; it reframes them as material for creativity, courage, and love. Five minutes a day as Christ isn't about performance; it's a tether to truth that can reshape your attention, your choices, and your joy.If this resonates, help more seekers find it: rate the show on Spotify or Apple, leave a one-line review, and share this episode with a friend who's tired of striving. In a world filled with distractions and societal pressures, finding and stepping into your true identity can feel like a monumental task. In this enlightening podcast episode, Michael Trainer shares profound insights on the importance of individuation, using personal anecdotes and timeless wisdom to guide listeners on their journey to self-discovery. **Understanding Individuation** Michael Trainer opens the discussion by emphasizing the significance of drawing a line in the sand and embracing the identity that resonates with us. He recalls advice from his leadership coach, Peter Roche, who reminded him that we are the lead actors in our own movies. This metaphor encourages listeners to take control of their narratives, embodying the characters they aspire to be, such as the king, the warrior, or the lover. These archetypes have been part of human storytelling for centuries, and recognizing them can help us align with our deepest desires. **The Traditional Rite of Passage** Trainer reflects on the historical processes of individuation, where young men and women were guided through challenging rites of passage by elders. These experiences often required courage and a confrontation with fears, leading to a new identity and a profound sense of belonging. Unfortunately, in today's convenience-oriented culture, these traditional connections and rites of passage are often missing, leaving many feeling stuck in their childhood narratives and unprepared for adulthood. **The Importance of Letting Go** To fully embrace our potential, Trainer stresses the need to let go of old stories that no longer serve us. He shares a personal experience of slipping and injuring his wrist, using this incident as a metaphor for the importance of paying attention to life's signals. He highlights how injuries can teach us valuable lessons about health, patience, and resilience. In moments of struggle, we are reminded to reflect on our paths and take responsibility for our choices. **Finding Your Purpose** The conversation then shifts to the significance of stepping into our purpose, or Dharma. Trainer explains that when we neglect our true calling, life can feel chaotic and unsteady. However, when we stand firm in our convictions and embrace our roles within our communities, we can navigate challenges with greater ease. This self-awareness leads to empowerment, allowing us to transition from one life stage to another, whether it's from maiden to mother or prince to king. **Community and Support** Michael shares his own journey of individuation, which included participating in men's work with his father and engaging in transformative programs like the Mankind Project. He emphasizes the importance of community in this process, as being witnessed by others can facilitate growth and healing. However, he also acknowledges that not everyone has access to such experiences. Therefore, he encourages listeners to seek out mentors and peers who can inspire and challenge them to rise to their full potential. **Commitment to Growth** As Trainer reflects on his own life, he recognizes the need to surround himself with individuals who push him forward, not just those who provide comfort. He shares his commitment to returning to a supportive community in Austin, Texas, where he plans to embark on a new chapter in 2026, focusing on personal growth and the birthing of a new book. This commitment, while daunting, represents a significant step in his journey toward individuation. What happens when you finally decide to stop playing small? In this intimate solo episode, Michael dives into the ancient and deeply human process of individuation—the moment you step out of the outdated version of yourself and into the role you were always meant to inhabit.Drawing on wisdom from his leadership mentor, Peter Roche, and archetypes from myth and psychology, Michael explores why so many of us are living out childhood stories long after they've expired… and what it takes to cross the threshold into your next chapter. He shares a recent personal moment—a literal fall—that became a metaphor for the ways life tries to get our attention when we're not stepping fully into our gifts, purpose, and power. You'll hear:Why you're the lead actor in your own storyThe archetypes (King, Warrior, Magician, Lover) that shape your identityHow ancient rites of passage forged adults who could protect communityWhat happens when we avoid the identity we're called to liveHow injury, setback, or friction can be a spiritual signalWhy strong peers and “iron sharpens iron” relationships matterThe difference between karma and dharmaWhy stepping into your bigness is not arrogance but responsibilityMichael's commitment to a new chapter—and an invitation to begin your ownIf you've been feeling the pull toward a bigger life, deeper purpose, truer relationships, or a more courageous version of yourself… this episode is your line in the sand.**Conclusion: Key Takeaways** Michael Trainer's podcast serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of stepping into our true identities and the role of community in our journeys. Key takeaways include:- Embrace the idea that you are the lead actor in your life and have the power to shape your narrative.- Recognize the value of traditional rites of passage and seek out ways to create your own.- Let go of stories that no longer serve you and focus on your true purpose.- Surround yourself with a community that inspires growth and pushes you to reach your potential.- Commit to continuous personal development and be willing to embrace new chapters in your life. DREAM WITH US, and we'll teach you how to interpret them! The devil archetype carries three qualities: it promotes bestial violence of every kind, it tries to convince us that the material world is the only reality, and it fools us into thinking we can spiritually ascend through intellect alone. On a personal level, it gathers our disowned infernal traits—envy, rage, greed, and the wish to dominate —and seduces us into believing those qualities are virtues. Once we face our own devilishness and grant it a symbolic form, we can assume a choiceful stance. Lacking that, we try to evacuate our own evil by projecting it onto others and then punishing them. As Jungians, we understand that our inferior function will first present as an imp. Still, with kind concern and thoughtful opportunities, it can transform into an uncanny ally that rescues us from malignant innocence. In its subtle form, the demonic attitude tempts us into literalism as it attacks our capacity to reflect and hold a symbolic attitude. I recently watched a video posted by the owners of a female black labrador retriever who they took to an outdoor restaurant where they were grabbling a meal. The video showed the dog choosing to sit on a separate couch, all the way at the end, facing the opposite direction from it's owners while acting like she didn't want to have anything to do with them. The owners posted, “Our moody teenager who sat herself as far away as she possibly could from her parents. The nerve of this girl.” I chuckled a bit as we all remember our own teenage years and our desire, from time to time to NOT be seen with our parents. It's known as individuation, which is a normal developmental process where our kids want to develop their own sense of self and independence from their parents. But parents, realize this, they are still watching you. Your presence and influence are more important than ever, as you model and teach what it means to live as a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.

Moving beyond the fairytale, Jess reveals how this ancient story mirrors your energetic evolution: from innocence and overgiving, to awakening, discernment, and full sovereignty. You'll see how each character in the story — the evil stepmother, the fairy godmother, the prince — represents a part of your psyche. Fanny shares her insights on the importance of sisterhood, the challenges women face in reclaiming their inner authority, and how female sexuality plays a central role in individuation and self-trust. Divine Individuation: Remembering the Old Grammar Through a Modern Mind
In this special episode, I sit down with renowned Jungian analyst Professor Murray Stein for a deep and wide-ranging conversation about Jung's core concepts: individuation, synchronicity, and kairos. We explore the mysteries of time, the nature of archetypes, the crisis of meaning in our era, and the role of consciousness in the cosmos. Along the way, we weave in personal stories, philosophical insights, and references to some of the most important works in depth psychology.Whether you're new to Jung or a longtime explorer of the psyche, I hope this episode inspires you to reflect on your own kairos moments and the deeper patterns shaping your life.Referenced Books, Ideas, and People:C.G. Divorce can indeed serve as a threshold to self-realization, individuation, and even spiritual awakening—but only if one engages the rupture consciously. It is not divorce itself that transforms, but how one metabolizes the grief, the shadow, and the disillusionment.

At the core of Jungian psychology lies the concept of individuation, a lifelong journey of growing into one's whole self. It's a process of self-discovery that can feel both inspiring and challenging as each layer of inauthenticity or protective strategy surfaces, then sloughs away. One therapist combines her Jungian background with NARM's spirit of inquiry to help her clients embrace the nature of individuation and reconnect to their unique selves. On this episode of Transforming Trauma, host Emily Ruth welcomes Megan Holm (LMFT), NARM® Master Therapist, and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner to discuss the beautiful and unsettling unfolding that can occur when we commit to exploring depth within ourselves. The pair also explores where NARM and Jungian psychology overlap––developing the capacity to hold tension that arises with deeper self-exploration and creating space for noticing rather than judging. About Megan Holm: Megan Holm is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), NARM® Master Therapist, and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner in private practice. She has served as a training assistant in NARM Therapist and Master Therapist Trainings. Megan is currently a training candidate at the International School of Analytical Psychology (ISAP) in Zurich, Switzerland. She continues to see clients in the US, working on themes of relationship patterns, belonging, grief and loss, and self-discovery. Megan is most interested in what Carl Jung calls Individuation: the lifelong process of becoming one's own unique and whole self. It is a process of self-realization and discovery, seeing ourselves as we are rather than as we wish to be. Our symptoms are a door for this work – they invite us to look inwards, to listen to what has gone untended or under-nourished. Fantasy, imagination, and dreams offer further guidance, helping us to see more clearly who we are and what we uniquely bring to the world. Knowing oneself is an undertaking – a humbling journey that Megan feels honored to take together. Individuation is an important theme threaded through the tween and teen years: the formation of independent identity ultimately allows a kid to stand on their own in adulthood. But getting there can sometimes look – and feel – pretty disrespectful. How can we make sense of the challenges, confusion, and sometimes painful moments? (or months?!). Child development specialist and bestselling author Betsy Brown Braun explains this developmental stage and teaches us how to draw lines, set expectations, and not personalize what's happening! In this episode I look at The Process of Individuation, an essay by Jung's close friend and colleague, Marie-Louise von Franz, in the anthology Man and his Symbols. I focus on the shadow and the anima, as well as the individualist nature of Jungian psychoanalysis.
DREAM WITH US, and we'll teach you how to interpret them!Think of adolescence as life's built‑in boot camp: your body hits the gas, your mind scrambles to keep up, and suddenly you're wrestling with raw impulses, big feelings, and the question “Who am I, really?” That surge of anger toward parents often hides an intense love that feels too risky to show, so teens push back while secretly measuring whether adults—and the wider world—can handle their storm.Without clear rites of passage, they test limits through friends, online thrills, and daring choices, all in service of hammering out a story that's theirs, not just a hand‑me‑down from family. If they can ride those waves—owning both the wild Shadow and the hopeful Self—they step into adulthood with a genuine sense of direction; if they dodge the work, the unfinished business shows up later as anxiety, depression, or a nagging sense of being stuck.LOOK & GROWJoin THIS JUNGIAN LIFE DREAM SCHOOLDo you have a topic you want us to cover?WE NEED YOUR HELP!
