This week, Zooni sits down with Sahil Grewal to discuss the power of diversity in thought and ideas in today's business world. Sahil works at Deloitte Consulting, Sahil works on projects related to Cloud Engineering, Insurance Strategy, and Omnia AI. Although he entered the Commerce program envisioning a career in Finance, his first-year summer internship at a start-up called Flash Stock, marked a key shift in his career aspirations. Somewhere between organizing 25-course pop-up restaurant meals, and researching the application of data-science in up-and-coming cross-disciplinary industries, Sahil realized his interest in data-science. In reflecting back on our journey's through four years of undergrad, many of us can quickly identify the rough waters we found ourselves in at one point in time. It's important to champion the times when we have righted our boats and continued on course, as opposed to cursing the circumstances we fell under. At the onset of her post secondary life, Sophie's intensely academic family background intuitively led her to benchmark success with her academic performance (a familiar attitude for many of us at Smith). While her drive for high academic standards has not changed, her renewed emphasis on sustainably maintaining an effective work ethic and quality of life have led her to achieve what she would now define as "success".
